- Tag along to Manhattan as we visit the elegant New York City home of Ashley Stark Kenner. The Creative Director of STARK, the legendary carpet and textile company founded by her grandparents, Ashley has design in her blood. And now she is also the creator of her eponymous lifestyle brand, Ashley Stark Home. Starting with rugs, the company now encompasses all the ingredients for making a stylish home. Learn how Ashley, working with Lichten architects, built her New York City townhouse from the ground up. Retaining only the front facade, the gut renovation was a two year labor of love. You’ll see how she has infused every space with a modern elegance including a subdued palette enhanced by layers and texture. Hear how she created a family friendly house, with spaces for everyone, including her three children, incorporating custom pieces with vintage and antique finds. Watch as she shares her tricks and tips for creating a kitchen that is stylish, functional and the heart of the home. You’ll be inspired and informed!

I really wish your home tours were longer. What a gorgeous home!
So glad you enjoyed and stay tuned...
Same!
@@OliviaLovenmark stay tuned - some longer ones coming!
@@quintessenceblgI love all of them short or longer. Just wish more of them, one of my favourite channels.
@@darlenechandler2403thanks so much! We visit, film, edit and publish all of our featured homes ourselves so it takes time - and often travel!
Thanks for this new video.
This is the type of house i live in: practical and tranquil.
I must say I prefer the episodes of homes that are crazier or quirkier and that make me go "noooo, I would never have that in my home!" and then as the video goes on I start getting used to the craziness and go "oh, that is interesting! I'd try that..." 😂
👍🏻👍🏻
The calm soft feel of this home really speaks to me. Just beautiful.
Quintessence my favorite channel is back yay🥳😃👏🏾🔥 I soooo missed you guys 🥰❤️🥰
Thank you!! Stay tuned - lots of great home tours coming.
So did I.
Greetings from Germany!

We missed you! This home is beautiful, and I love the variety of your tours. As others have mentioned, I do wish they were longer. Looking forward to what’s coming up! Discovering Quintessence during the pandemic is what reawakened my love of interiors; I’m so grateful for that. 🙏🏽
Thank you so much and stay tuned!!
Love the townhome’s quiet elegance. Her decor has a timeless, sophisticated palette to accent the home’s bones.
So glad you enjoyed!
How is this house original? Glad they are happy with their home but to say you never saw anything like it. Stark has great stuff and great textures and that is a great point.
Yeah, it's just pretty basic. White is striking, but that's about all in this case.
Beautiful! I love that it's filled with natural light.
Sure, it's not an extravagant house, it's a lived in family home. There are beautiful details in every room.
Luv ASHLEYS TASTE IN DECOR!
What a gorgeous stunning house.
Beautiful! I would love it if you guys did a Holiday decorated home this year, or maybe revisit John Derian when his holiday things are up in his shop! Also would love to see Timothy Corrigan's French Chateau again if its finished:)
We are actually filming Timothy’s chateau (finally finished) later this month!! So stay tuned! And if you follow on Instagram you might just see a few sneak peeks! 😉
@@quintessenceblg Oh Wonderful! Looking forward to it!

I finally had time with my coffee to spend time with your beautiful new visit and tour! What this elegant home gives is creamy warm family friendly spaces with easily cleaned surfaces that belie the palette. The silk florals have a place for so many of us that were not born with or too busy to have a green thumb. Silk florals go back to the 18thc . Beautiful and enjoyable..thank you dear Quintessence!
Please stand up for the homeless. Social Housing is a great solution for many that need a place to lay their heads. Thank you.
So well thought out...
Pretty...
Just exquisite as usual. We have missed you. Thank you for sharing again.
Large impact of bold color in all artwork and shelving displays. Beautiful soothing colors with welcoming flow, including nice build and features, throughout! I'm a gardener, so all of my indoor plants and flowers are faux. Love the beauty without the maitenance.
Glad you enjoyed!
Soothing, sensuous, elegant…well said Susanna. Thanks again Stacey and Susanna for another great “At Home”. 🦋💙🦋
🙏🏻 our pleasure!
Finally!!!! A new episode 🙏❤️
Ashley Stark Kenner has a lovely home. I love her white sofa (which I could never have. Too many kids.) It all works together with the white fire place and the living room furniture with layers/ textures. It is beautiful. Even the faux flowers are white!
Beautiful, love the colors.
What a beautiful home. I loved it so much; I'm going to watch it again.
Love this mix between classic and modern. Very elegant 👏
👍🏻👍🏻🙏🏻
Lovely, super nice...Thank you, Susanne for the tour..
There's lots of sunlight in there, too!
simply sublime new build no expense spared a labor of love
Lovely house. Thank you for the video
So happy to see a new episode! You've been missed! Happy Fall!
At least she is openly talking about where to get the items she used. That is a good thing,
yeah if you want to pay 750 dollars for fake flowers from HER website LOL
Me encantó elegancia ,estilo y confortable :tres detalles que hacen que sea una casa modelo y Vemos que es una casa vivida y hecha para gozarla y ser partícipe de grandes memorias para esta familia!! Wowww 😮
Beautiful...yet it looks like ANY recently refurbished/redecorated apartment....(all those ecrus, etc..)
I didn't get a notification and missed this! Once I see you've posted a video, I click that button so fast I make my head spin! Please keep on giving us more and as always you looked lovely!
More coming very shortly and I agree Susanna always looks great - Stacey (behind the camera)
Love it all! Bar is my favorite. My husband was laughing because he thought we had way too many rooms and sofas...Ashley has us beat by at least two sofas! Great taste. I love how the wallpaper just layers in the most subtle ways. We live in white too! And is anyone mentioning how beautiful she is???
I am inspired by the variety of artwork in the home. I like the peaceful drawing of a row of bunnies over the bed. I like the idea of using faux fur throws over the chairs. Also, looks like there are a few classic chair styles. I love Susanna's and Ashley's outfits. Great episode.
That’s a Hunt Slonem. That little painting is tens of thousands of dollars.
I’m sooooo excited to see a Hometour from you!!! I haven’t even watched yet, but so happy that I just had to comment and let you know! 😍 I also also wish your videos were longer. I can’t get enough of Quintessence!
Thank you! Stay tuned - more coming very soon.
beautiful & bravo on having a 3rd child.
❤5 stars!❤
Well tailored home and slacks too!❤
All very meh though.
Her home is amazing and beautiful her style is lovely... Quintessence is the best interior design channel on RUclips I look forward to each video that is put out.. You all are just awesome.

Lovely home! It's very serene and cozy. Ashley's description of a "cocoon" is perfect....very inviting. I have to say (hope it's ok)....that she looks very much like Demi Moore. Very pretty with a gorgeous home. Thank you for the tour. 😀
Me quedé con el deseo de ver más de esta hermosa casa.
Oooo awwwwww, just beautiful!!!! What a lovely home. Thanks for another great video.
So great to be able to enjoy the tours again. Can see how Ashley opted for a tranquil setting after all her extensive interaction with pattern at Stark. Looking to more tours SOON please!
Yes coming soon!
Great space!
Celebrando la belleza y encanto de cada casa
Just lovely!
Lovely home.
Such a beautiful home
Glad you enjoyed!
It's great to see you again! I adore the blue wallpaper in that bathroom! The kitchen is so spacious and full of handy surprises. After (mostly) restoring an old house, I can't even imagine starting with an empty shell; they've done a great job. My one regret after adopting my fluffy grey lion of a Norwegian Forest cat, is that he's obsessed with flowers and no arrangement, silk or otherwise is safe from him. :( Ashley's dogwood and fall sprays are indeed gorgeous.
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed!
Thanks for sharing all different types of designs! I get the desire for calmness and serenity and to me that was accomplished!!! Keep them coming, I always get at least one idea!
🙏🏻🙏🏻
White, but more interesting than the usual hyper-modern "everything is white" vibe. Must be the layers and textures. The second home I've seen with a noticeable pink accent. And I have been thinking of going with some pink in my house too. Hmmm, is this a sign? LOL! Normally wouldn't want faux flowers, but these look amazing. Will be going to her site. Thanks. Regards from Indiana!
Sound quality has improved dramatically! ⬆️
It’s been much improved for a while but thank you!
Thank you for a tour of this beautiful home. I truly with these videos would be a bit longer.
Our pleasure and we’ll try going forward!
Exquisite
Lovely home
Luv the video as always. Never fails to inspire. ❤
👍🏻🙏🏻
Great design & very comfortable family home. Love the artificial florals. I went on the website to check out prices and selection, OUCH!
Yes, why they look so good …
I thought the same thing. She must be so wealthy that a 50 dollar arrangement seems fine at 745…
A gorgeous kitchen! Agree - your videos are a little too short! Even if they were just a tad longer, but, at the same time, you're probably keeping in mind the inhabitant's use of their time...
Some are longer and we will take in consideration yours and other’s suggestion! It’s a fine line between making them longer and not cohesively edited.
@@quintessenceblg 👍👍
A solution for the toy corner is a folding screen.I had the same issue
👍🏻👍🏻
it must be nice being rich. beautiful home
What a beautiful home. It is so relaxing with those wonderful color combinations. I have said it before but these videos are way to short.
❤❤❤
This one feels more like a store selling house furniture and lamps .
So beautiful and sensual.
waiting to see you doing Indian homes😍
Perhaps someday
The only original thing they kept was the facade and no pictures of the facade?
What white paint color
I'm afraid she didn't share that.
The Architectural Digest article about her home states that she used Benjamin Moore Decorator's White in the kitchen.
@@pcox7581 merci!
Lovely. Way too short I wanted to see all the way round.
Awake on the wall. Really? People please do think.
c'est très beau mais ,avec tout ce blanc c'est dur à entretenir ,comment fait t'elle pour ne pas faire de taches ?
She said it is all washable... but I wonder, too. But then, I would trip wearing floor-length pants like that- so what do I know? 🤷😞
@@thekingsdaughter4233 lollllllll
Lovely home, but but given her excellent eye and ability to bring her vision to fruition I would have so appreciated hearing the completion of her comment that began "The only thing I regret ...".
1. A 'regret' from such a talented designer/decorator would have been a valuable caution to the rest of us picking up tips from viewing the vid.
2. Interrupting and talking over the interviewee - so rude.
Beautiful palette but faux flowers are a ridiculous
wait till you see the price of them!
So many chairs...
Unimaginative vanilla so predictable stripped of all character, is this where Quintessence is taking us? I hope not
Definitely not - stay tuned!
Needs color.
Oh dear, what’s up with Quintessence? Where is the extravagant luxury? Nothing wrong with this apartment, but it’s not Quintessence.
Aesthetic has very little to do with “luxury.” Im guessing you have no idea what values of townhouses are in NYC. The mere fact you call it an apartment 💁♂️
@@zehucai4398 you’re right about my misnomer. Sorry, guess I wasn’t paying attention but it wasn’t really the most important point to me. As I said, nothing wrong with this house at all, it just seems to me a deviance from the format of Quintessence. I know it mostly to have luxury homes with lots of patterns - with very infrequent exceptions. I guess I feel a little like I am watching a different design show, but no criticism intended. Just trying to get a handle on why there might be such an apparent change.
@@zehucai4398 check out Rajiv Surendra, he’s back to the very basics today too…
What the hell is your 'quota' for extravagance? I can't even imagine the millions that are so obviously put into this interior that is still, after all, supposed to be a place where people *live*.
@@comtaar2245awww don’t apologise..:) I know what u mean. Most of the homes have been quite filled with stories and sometimes an overflow of collectibles and stuff. This one is more like a hotel. It will please many but I’m not getting any depth of narrative
I think the succulents are fake or faux .... they look cheap and these are definitely plastic not silk.... nothing uglier than fake plastic succulents... the rest of the house [without plastic succulents] is beautiful. Plastic succulents make a home look cheap. Silk flowers are fine but only if they look real, unfortunately even on screen [the white bouquet] looks fake. I wouldn't pay $750 for a silk bouquet when it still looks fake.
Poor lady, perhaps she is colour blind and is scared to take risks. I know some think this the hight of chick.. To me boring. I understand when working with fabrics and flowers your senses can be overpowered.
Plastic flowers… they ruin even the most elegant interior.
Well they aren't plastic - they are silk and quite lovely. But I understand if you prefer only fresh flowers.
Why do you interrupt so much? Let the guests speak without interrupting them. Not only is that rude, it's irritating. I tune in only to hear them speak and talk about their decorating. Make the videos about them, not you!
I agree with the above comment.
Feel free to no longer watch the series if I bother you so much
@@susannasalk7153 I don't agree with the above comments...you do not bother me at all. 😊😉 They can watch Homeworthy where there is no interaction with anyone except with the camera people. It's possible you put the homeowners at ease! Not everyone is comfortable being filmed.
Yes, many hosts are understandably nervous and enjoy having me prompt them or having a conversation with them ….there are many unseen challenges of our filming and what goes on behind-the-scenes. That being said I so appreciate your support. And if my manner annoys people they can watch other shows.
