If the Premier League doesn't inflict serious punishment that will genuinely hurt them on and off the pitch, then what a joke of an organisation it will have become - FFP rules that are easily avoided by big clubs while smaller clubs are hung up to dry. Hope they do the right thing this time

PL are already a joke after they bottled docking Everton points for breaking PL FFP rules last season. I can't see anything really happening to Man City, as one reporter already said this could go on for another 5 years before they get to a decision.

@@peterlee3687 Yep, FFP is a racket. But also notice the media campaign against City in recent days with a torrent of articles claiming unrest, trying to foment division at the club, raging at Haaland being a City player, etc. It's a coordinated full spectrum attack on the club involving the FA, the media (both domestic and foreign) and the elite clubs (both domestic and foreign). I don't even support City but I see this for what it is.

  • @TheJWRB

If it was a smaller club, even ONE of these breaches would result in a 15 point deduction. If they have broken 100, they should be relegated to league 1. But they have money so they will get a fine. As a forest fan I hate backing up derby, but they breached financial guidelines and we’re essentially forcefully relegated and almost liquidated, is it fair to them if city gets away with this?

    • @DiscordantVice
      @DiscordantVice Год назад +33

100% agree. You just know City will get away with it. Football is corrupt so I’ll be amazed if city don’t ’bribe’ their way out of this.
      Too much money changing hands.
If they do get severely punished, and I think relegation at a minimum, then fair play to the FA etc.
It brings into doubt all of their recent success.
But as I say, they’ll probably get off and most likely a big fine. As you say, won’t affect them.
Newcastle’s owners may be rethinking their approach to financing them but that’s prob a good thing, they will have to fund them properly.

    • @Longlostpuss
      @Longlostpuss Год назад +5

Not to mention, would it take four years to jump on their d***s over said breach?
It just feels like either way it's too late because the seasons happened, the titles are in the history books, teams were relegated, teams missed out on Europe.
It's not as if you can turn back time now and hit a reset button and go again is it?

Why should league 1 take them? EPL have taken over THIRTEEN years to uncover the original breaches and that only occurred because a GERMAN newspaper reported on a Portuguese hacking incident. There's a culture of corruption in the club, so will always have further suspicions of them. Should clear the enitre club and then should be in non-league when a position comes available and start again.

I don't really think that Manchester City should have their titles taken away from them and I will explain my reason why.
About 11 years ago Rangers were in a similar position and the talk at that time was to strip the club of their trophies but it was never really a strong possibility.
An example was the 2008 Scottish Cup final where Rangers beat Queen of the South 3-2. But the Queen of the South team captain made the point that he didn't want a Scottish Cup winner's medal where he gained it simply through default because it takes away from the spirit of the game. Not only that but the guys who went out onto the pitch for Rangers at Hampden that day gave their all just as much as the Queens players.
Don't get me wrong, if Manchester City are found to be guilty there are plenty of other measures that can be used as a punishment.
Personally I think the punishment should take the form of several parts.
Firstly I would have them relegated to League Two of the EFL.
Secondly, I would place a 3 or 4 year transfer embargo (ban) on the club with the only real exception being for them to sign free agents, players on loan from other clubs and youth academy players.
Lastly I would slap a heavy (eight figure sum) fine on the club owners (£10 million or more).

No way do those players want to be in a sinking ship of a club that are 100% not gonna see top flight football with this kind of charges. Leeds and Forest have had simillar yet way less extensive charges and it tanked their future for years, 15 point reduction doesn't cut it when you have 115 charges to your name.

And will they have to pay the respective teams that finished 2nd that prize money for winning the league as I said add it up and its a hell of a lot of money that would be a great help to teams like Man Utd, Liverpool and anyother team that finished 2nd in this time.

The coverage of Man City vs Juventus on these investigations is really interesting. The Super League will come, UEFA and FIFA are unable to handle football on their own.

Sly Sports loving this..... wouldn't be covering this as much if it was Liverpool the darlings of the media.

What a ludicrous thing to say. They are utterly slaughtering Liverpool at the moment.

This video could and would help people and hopefully medias less guess about or stir this complicated situation, which could create more confusion.

Basically let me explain what will happen. Refer back to this when it happens.
This week: total media hype and online hype.
    Next week: mumbles of this.
Last week of Feb: everyone realises this will take months even though it has been told to you multiple times this week.
From end of Feb to Aug: everyone forgets about it (media and online).
End of Aug: Man City cleared of all wrong doing (a none story for the media and online) and will be forgotten about a day later.
2025: man city sold due to human rights issues in Abu Dhabi
2028: Newcastle sold due to human rights issues in Saudi Arabia.

even if they beat these charges they'll never be able to make ppl forget that they're CHEATERS just because the Premier League wanting to safeguard its brand.

Situation is clear, since 2008 every trophy city has was paid for by breaking the rules, giving themselves an unfair advantage, cheating for silver! They should be stripped, FULLY of all trophies won in that time. Regulated 2 tiers, and transfer embargo, Set an example! Cheating is not accapted in the PL!
Anything less opens up invitation to others cheating, cheat for some silver, some top silver, and then have a few points lost in the future 1 season.

Of course it will effect on pitch performances, can't play your heart out with the thought in your head that everything you accomplish might be taken away in a few years.
Guaranteed if things keep looking rocky for city most decent players will jump ship
