most media blokes are terrible, all about headlines, always ready to sacrifice the next manager for a cheap populistic headline and have ZERO insight into actual tactics, locker room talk and worst of all are not even interested in what is really going on, but only in superficial talk and easy solutions, like "fire the coach", when success is not coming. mourinho was a tough coach and tough to the media, which left these self-centered delusional pseudo-experts wanting for his head, as soon as his success was slightly lacking.

That team had so much average footballers its insane what Mourinho achieved. Man United has had a very average squad for almost 10 years with only a few players that can be considered world class in the squad each season. To get 2nd place and win the Europa league is out of this world. Getting any consistency out of that team is almost an impossible task.

What people fail to realise is that whenever Jose said that a certain player would fail, 8/10 times, they does. He knows how to rebuild, he knows how to build dynasty and best of all how to win. Him at United was probably the best time of United post SAF era. 2nd place finish today seems impossible for United, European final even UEL seems unachieveable and players scoring above 15 goals in a season is a thing of past. Only if he was given the reinforcement he wanted for the following season seeing that Baily & Rojo were injury prone, Jones was out of question and only Lindelof was decent, he did ask for Milan Skrinar and Harry Maguire. He knew midfield needed some magic replacing Wayne Rooney, he asked for Bruno Fernandes. He knew with Zlatan gone, Lukaku needed a partner, and he asked for Marko Arnautovic . Even Fred who was signed later was on his wishlist alongside Yerry Mina, Toby Alderwielrd, Youri Tielemans and few others. But back then Ed Woodward vetoed everyone, and only allowed a young injured Diogo Dalot who was one for the future, Lee Grant and Fred.

Pogba was a dream player but plagued with injuries. Martial was a terrible attacked signed by LVG alongside Depay who we had to replace with Lukaku and Zlatan, while Zlatan became a cult hero, Lukaku was a crybaby. Matic was a honest servant who was almost perfect in my honest opinion in terms of what we paid for him Victor Lindelof might not be a shiny name but he sure is a loyal one. Especially his long passes, it's a shame not many use it. What Jose wanted versus what he got from Ed Woodward shows what us at United have been asking for. As United fans, we are living in a constant limbo of hope, the reality is very clear and simple, the club culture is a financial model for the owners in favor of the owners, the owners have never been fans of football so there is no emotion, the foundation of the grass roots system is gone, we have out dated facilities and out dated staff, so we can not maintain form, discipline or confidence, thus the manager goes to United to destroy his career, United is a manager career serial killer. Solution is not sir Jim, solution would have been exactly what city have, we should have taken Qatar bid.

Jose's time at United was interesting to say the least. He has his supporters and his haters among the fan base, but for me there are three things Jose said during that time that will forever be etched in United lore:
    1- If they play
    2- Football heritage
3- Finishing second was the greatest accomplishment of my career
Everybody mocked him when he made each comment, but now in hindsight it's futile to argue against what he said. I didn't enjoy his final season with us, he had already lost the dressing room by then and sacking him was the right choice, but I'll never doubt a word of what he said about his time there. Ideally, Jose should have joined right after Sir Alex left, United were already halfway to rock bottom by the time he arrived.

    • @TheLitRight
      @TheLitRight 12 дней назад

Sacking Mourinho isn’t necessarily their biggest mistake, but it’s a prime example of the problem.
He “lost the dressing room” of Lingard, Pogba, and Rashford for saying they were clowns more interested in Instagram and a virus on the club.
What happened after sacking one of the most successful managers in history? Reliance on the same players made United a mid-table team. Rashford is trash, Lingard is in Korea, and Pogba got a drug ban.
Mourinho was right, all the way to predicting their struggle the season he got sacked. He said without a new CB they’ll struggle, didn’t get one, then got sacked because they struggled.

Look at Tottenham after Pochettino. From consecutive top 4, UCL Finalist to being in and out of top 4 and couldn’t even win a Carabao cup.

@@KitoAkari1612 Bro that's dumb, simply dumb
United fans still don't know what is happening thinking ETH is the solution and this time backing him is the right choice, ETH is no Mourinho or Klopp or Guardiola
You forgetting one key point here: United is highest spending team part 5 seasons, not Liverpool or Tottenham or City, it's United that's the highest, so comparing to clubs spending less than half is invalid
If this is what United is targeting then the team is the new Arsenal of PL, countless of seasons without winning PL, infact it's below Arsenal right now since Arsenal are indeed trying to win the league
It's all about mentality, I always emphasis on this, the reason Madrid keeps winning not because they have stronger squad than city but they have stronger mentality than everyone else, their club says "we can do it, we are CL champions", United lost that and only Mourinho and LVG aimed for CL and PL

      @@TRX25EX that is wrong again.
Mentality isn’t something given by coaches. It was given through building up confidence and having a concrete plan.
United is the highest spender, but how does United spend money? Not to improve the squad, but to completely shatter the plan of the ex manager and try to build a new one, rinse and repeat. Overtime, players are stuck with bajillion of playstyles and they cannot get anything done. Just right after they started to get Van Gaal’s playstyle, he was sacked. As soon as Mourinho fell down with Pogba, they sacked the manager. As soon as things went sour with Ole, they sacked him. Now you expect the board to sack ETH because of one bad season? For what? Spending shit loads of money on Tuchel and De Zebri, only to sack them two years later?
ETH isn’t Pep, Klopp or Mourinho, but he is the right man for the job. If you want to keep rambling about “winning mentality”, I don’t know what you can get from any of the candidates to replace him.

I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again…. Jose was the most disrespected manager to ever work in the prem… he is without a doubt one of the best. Man united deserve all of this for not backing him and backing friggin pogba.

He brought in old forwards on huge salaries that blocked the promising youngsters at the club. I think he played a big part in Rashford's and Martial's subsequent lackluster careers.

I’m sorry but I have to laugh on man united supporters. How cold you think Mourinho would do better with these players. I remember when they used to say Martial was the most talented player in the squad and he could become the best player in the world. Somebody tell me how man united supporters became so ridiculous after teams with Ferdinand, Ronaldo, Scholes, Nani, and then putting their hopes on martial 😂😂😂

I don’t care what anyone says, David De Gea will go down as one of my favorite ever United players.
It is clear United’s issues since 2013 have not been because of him.
Let me put it this way, if Sir Alex had stayed on for a few more years, no one would even be talking about De Gea being “disappointing” or anything. He was let down by the rest of the team, plain and simple.

NGL De GEA was such a world class goalkeeper and only because he had some mistakes they literally sacked him which is crazy in the fact that he is so good

They didn't sack him lol. They let his contract expire. Footballers getting sacked is very very rare and usually only for disciplinary reasons as otherwise you need to pay them off in full.
