@@john-rodgerclaycountychron7071 wow what a beautiful experience you had with your wife! I am sorry i dont know the answer to your question, but my g-mtr married a white man & i was raised white altho my soul n spirit always connected me with my indian heritage-esp with the dreams & spiritual connection to Jehovah God & the spiritual world. I had a couple encounters with the drk spiritual side & never want another! But there have been many connections with the Lord. I had always heard Cherokee ppl had that enlightenment & dreams. I had a vision of the plane that hit the twin towers approx 6/7 mths before it hit (i was very confused & shrugged it off). My ❤ lies within my spiritual connection to my ppl ever since i was a little girl, not the white man, (even tho i loved my irish papa)🤗My people are from the NC tribe also & hid in mountains. I went to Cherokee NC (cant remember the co. & actual name of the area) to the tourist & shops area only. Bought a lot of turquoise jewelry 😊. Have you been back to the mountains?
I feel the same. For me it all started when Duane met his fate. Berry's loss followed by Lamarr's and Dan's passing was cruel. The Butch. Dickey held it all together.
Love the dobro that Warren is playing. Really adds to this song. Got to see the brothers play this acoustic version back in about 1991 or 92. Such a great performance that night when they slowed down to do an acoustic set that also included Melissa. Gregg's Blues background gives the song great ballast.
Too bad Dicky had to fuck it up. His fistfight with Warren and Alan Woody got him kicked out. At that point the years of alcoholism had taken their toll.
Sorry for your loss! your words really touch me, its beatiful how music can heal us and help us live through out the pain--- peace and love from Argentina!
Best band ever IMO I'm hoping for just ONE more time with Betts, ONE more time.... get well Gregg. I will need a new liver too........ hopefully I can get one...
@1evilteacher Thanks for your thoughtful words....I have this Lyric on the back of his headstone..."love is all that remains the same"...boy how true these words are...I am unable to see his beautiful daughter that I was helping him raise..so I lost the 2 of them at one time...oh yeah...my wonderful Dad passed 61 days before my Timmy...miss them all so very much...so yes love is all that remains.....take care

@richput thanks for your kind words...Losing my Timmy when we were both 39 stinks...I miss him everyday..we used to joke about turning 40 and being old...My Tim passed 3 months b4 my 40th...had to do it by myself...next year I will be 50 all by myself...its not that much easier...take good care
I have the special live fan CD of this all. Sad to see Dickey before he got axed. But jeez, dude...mellow out. Love to see Warren at this time. Look how thin he is! Also, it is not a mystery why Dickey was fired. Mellow out folks. Also, I miss Allen. Wah.
@@totoyoda45 Not even close. Warren was at least Derek's equal on guitar, and Dickey was, too, and was better than the entirety of the rest of the band as a writer. Without him the ABB was "something else", not the ABB.

"Somebody's calling your name". Fly high, Dickey.
Rock on with all The Brothers who have been waiting for you.
100 % honest music, made by very gifted and humble musicians. This is music that endures. The Allman Brothers Band made great music.

was so so fortunate to see them at the Taj Mahal in NJ and get to the stage..amazing concert..one of my favorite ABB song..
Love this song...play er on guitar. Dickey Betts...last of the Hippies...
RIP Dickey Betts
possibly their greatest album
Best band of all time that real music
I think Dicky wrote the best brothers tunes.
Absolutely awesome! I have never seen this even though I remember watching the ABB on "Unplugged" in 1990!
Thanks so much!
I saw this when it was first aired and never forgot this performance! Thanks for posting!
Amen. Welcome Mr Betts
The Allman's sounded their best with Dickey. Guy is incredible.
Golden voice!
Dickey Betts is the Allman Brothers. Without him, just a nastolgia act.
@@michaelantoniotti2738 I always favored Dickey. The individual photo of him on the back cover of Beginnings instantly grabbed me!

I think is from MTV unplugged in the early 90s. And I was lucky enough to be there.

Warren is amazing on backing vocals on this.

Richard Betts with that red guitar
Dickey is still doing great for a 65 year old man... i guess we all slow down..
The late great Dickey Betts [performance wise]
What is this from? Excellent video.
Dickey Betts will always be "the best" Allman Brother.
Sorry, for all that Dickey is, Duane was by far 'the best' Allman Brother.
Dickey's better, imo.

And a very young Warren Haynes
Dickey wrote this gem.

@SeleniumRectifier my mother is my loss it can never be replaced
what is this program, and where can we see the rest of it?
Somebody's calling your name
Selenium rectifier can you explain it to me
No need to wonder where Warren got his chops from😎
Gregg says "it just doesn't work." ????
Fix post . It’s Warren Haynes & Dickey Betts not Gregg Allman & Dickey Betts .
Greg is there also.
Gregg, Dickey, Warren, Allen, Jaimoe, Butch & Johnny. Warren & Dickey do more heavy lifting, but all of them make this sounds so good.
@lde47 I'm going to have to go with Duane on that one, he is only the greatest guitar player that ever lived.
