Oh my , That was a beautiful stripped down version of that song . Gregg speaks the blues , it is in his soul . He was truly gifted and I will love him forever ,
This version is so pure and raw, it hurts my heart to listen to his soulful voice and that lonely guitar,Gregg was truly beautiful. These lyrics are just too much, only a southern boy could write them straight from the heart............♥ Thank you for this post seaborneful ♥ msstevie ♥
I feel very lucky to have been here for Gregg's contributions, to music. Every version of this song, makes me stop, dead in my tracks. Lord, let him rest in peace.
Mere words cannot describe how good this is. @allmansgirl Gregg's a huge reason Duane worked his ass off to become the legend he was. Can't let your lil' brother, with a voice like that, also be a better guitar player too. The musical genius of both is astonishing.
Think, they should had more Gregg on Guitar than keys. His keys playing is one of the best. Should have played both guitar and keys in the band. Betts can handle all guitars when gregg is on keys.
BEST VOICE EVER!! Soulful. Sexy. Smooth as whiskey with the right amount of Blues to pull at your heartstrings. Just a man and his guitar!! What a beautiful man singing a beautiful song. Miss you Brother Gregg 🌹
My God he is just amazing. I love his soulful voice and simple but wonderful guitar paying. When u have talent like this man does you don't need to hide behind electronics. He can go anywhere and whip his guitar out and sing one of his songs and blow everyone away ---GA is one of a kind.
The true mark of a good Musician, is to sound as good live as you do in studio. I believe Gregg Allmen made that Mark at a vary early age...One of the true deep sounding to the heart soulful voice. Oh and vary easy on the eyes....
Thank you for posting. He was one of the greats! So grateful for videos like these where he can live on. If I've listened to this once I listen to it a thousand times. The world sure feels more empty without him.

It is indeed a mystery that those two boys with so much trouble in their young lives and no one to truly shape their lives, somehow were touched by that special giftedness. I get that same feeling of mystery when I listen to Dickey Betts' (says he doesn't read music) Liz Reed. Among the things to marvel at in this world.
This brings back memories. In the early 70s I saw Flo & Eddie, Loggins and Messina, Johnny Winter, and The Allman Brothers at the Hollywood Bowl. This was one of their first shows after Duane died. Berry Oakley was still with them; I believe he died a short time after. It was the first I had heard of the Allman Brothers, and I was hooked.
Our music heroes are never really gone...they're just a video clip away....and thank goodness for that. Sail on sailor, and say hello to Duane, Momma, and all the rest up there. Miss ya'll.
Greg Allman had such natural musical and vocal ability from a young age! He had great style, and seemed so friendly and humble. I wish I could gotten to meet him. Well, I'm glad I've been blessed with getting to hear all the many many great Allman Brothers tunes- Thank you, truly
I reckon I’ve seen the ABB 10x and Gregg solo about 3x and no one will ever come close to him that I will see again . Love you brother, and thank you 🙏

RIP Gregg. One of America's greatest interpreters of the Blues....black or white. A gift of pure, haunting emotion can only have come from the Heavens above. After nearly 46 years carrying around the heaviest of hearts for the loss of his hero and big brother Duane, Gregg is finally reunited. The country and the world lost an icon today.
And two men cannot do this but the third one can and all the other two men can do is just sit there in awe of what a beautiful gift was given to Greg Allman ❤❤
Gregg Allman was a great composer, singer, piano player and also played guitar very well, in my village we call that a genious Hes done some of the coolest rock tunes ever , quite a few indeed
Man, that is pure gold right there. ..." Can you sing us something?" And he lays that down like it's no big deal at all... I'd love to be able to play and sing with that much soul.
Miss Gregg and missed him - a few years ago (12.7.2011): Had my ticket for his show at Tollwood Summer Festival in Munich, waited for hours right at the entrance gate, ready to go front row. Then someone shouted out concert was cancelled due to Gregg's serious liver problems. Too bad! Most of the people went home, deeply disappointed. I checked into the festival tent because Gregg's opener band was announced to play a full concert. Luckily I stayed, together with about 50 other guys. All of us were totally thrilled at once from the moment they played the first notes, and within 20seconds everybody found himself dancing and cheering. It was Robert Randolph's Family Band which wasn't too famous at that time in Europe, but at the end of their free two set concert there were about 1000 excited people in the tent - they had heard outside Robert's pedal steel and the power of the band and it lured them like the pied piper's flute. I don't want to imagine that Gregg surely would have played a few songs with Robert!
Duane Allman greatest slide guitar player to ever pick up a guitar Gregg was the reason. Gregg Allman had so much talent where do you start his soulful voice his B-3 Hamon keyboard or his guitar just to much to name. His ups and downs were just like yours and mine joyful and tragic. But the road remains the same. I love the Brothers!
I am an old fingerstyle chet atkinsf picker but man this is some good music. The Allman Brothers were in a class by themselves. The only band that could play a 10 minute solo and keep it exciting and not revert to some three note run that just gets faster and not better. And what a voice.
Back when people sang songs without autotune and God it was Glorious .
Damn that's so powerful more soul than a full band
The All_man Brothers.....well of course their All men if their Brother's....geez!. Nowadays it would be The All_trans She/he siblings.😂

Mother of GOD what a voice.
We went through the decades with Gregg and many other artists and when they pass, it can almost feel equivalent to a loss in the family.
Gregg Allman: Best white blues singer on the planet. Period.
He also is a much better guitar player than I realized.

Bullshit. Gregg hated when people called him that.
