- Huge update. Rightfully so - the last version was out 1.5 years ago. Very nifty that you can use joycons for Dolphin with gyro et al.
Whenever I come back to this program, I'm always very impressed with how usable it is. Not to blow my own horn.

I would like to thank you for making this program so much. Ive been using it for the past 2 years and it works absolutely fantastic. Joycon range is absolute shit no matter what bluetooth adapter I use but still. Fantastic work David.

David Khachaturov indeed. I play about 3m away from the pc and bluetooth adapter plugged in it. I have to keep the space absolutely unobstructed or signal gets lost meaning inputs dont register. I tried three different adapters and the results are pretty much the same.
@@urbanthedk4653 is this the case for all your Bluetooth devices or just for BetterJoyForCemu?
David Khachaturov sorry I haven’t been playing much lately. I switched my devices to 5ghz WiFi and it seems that Bluetooth range got a bit better since then due to less traffic on 2ghz or something.
How did you even get the joycon controlling the mouse?? I re watched the video 10 times and still don't see it..

I can get gyro working as mouse and the controller is recognized as XInput in Steam, but it won't recognize the joysticks as joysticks. I'm not sure what's going on there. I can't map right joystick to mouse and when I've mapped the whole controller with a keyboard layout, it's still recognizing controller input.
Halo: MCC is a good illustration of the problem. It doesn't allow controller and mouse at the same time, so I can move the cursor, but can't select anything, because my inputs are mapped in Steam as keyboard, but the game still sees an XInput controller.

i have a problem where the joycon tracking will become very inaccurate after a certain period of time. i don't know if i did anything different compared to you though

Thanks you so very much for answering my previous question! Is there any way to remove input lag coming from the second joycon? I am using the latest version of the program ( v6.3 ) and my bluetooth adapter should be good enough because i am using a laptop gamer.
The second joycon to be connected always has input lag
Try version 6.2, or 6.4 (it's linked in some of the github issues)

I might have to update Better Joy, but the version I have right now has wonky motion controls on my SN30 Pro SN Edition. The motion controls on Mario Odyssey work (I just tried), but mouse gyro is all over the place in Zandronum.
I’m sorry. I know this is old but i’ve been trying to use the sticks or one stick as a mouse. I’ve read all your instructions and could manage to use the gyro as a mouse. But i’m trying to use the STICK and I can’t find any option. Anyone else with this problem?

i have a big problem with the program.
when i connect my pro controller, it will be recognise as a wireless controller. then i open up betterjoyforcemu, the controller will be recognise too and everything works fine. but in the list for all conncected controller there are now two controller. the new emulated and the nintendo switch controller itself. for some games it works just fine, but some of them cant handle this. they see the nintendo switch controller as player one, but its emulated as a xinput.
is there a way to fix that?

i love Betterjoy, can you help me out, if i use Xinput and turn off my controller, my steam or emulator freezes and i can't kill the process on task manager the only way is to restart my PC, so i can only use DS4 but the problem is... the square button doesn't work at all, can you help me?

my controller either shows up grey when i select the "virtual xbox 360 " controller or it comes out grey when i add my ssn30pro+.

Hello there David this is some amazing software however motion controls don't seem to be working properly for me i can look up and down perfectly but left and right doesn't seem to work unless I tilt my controller like a steering wheel and even then it moves only a tiny ammount that it's useless. Works perfectly on my switch though. (beboncool 3rd party switch controller)
once i can install betterjoy v6. but when i restart the pc it wont connect anymore.. i tried to reconnect with the same way still can not reconnecting... any suggest? thx
im having a hard time getting the gyro to mouse working and i cant find any tutorial online
No matter what I try I am unable to set up motion controls and gyro movement. Nothing happens when I try to move the Joy Cons while assigning a button for them (shake etc.). The only thing that works for me is pointing with the Joy Con and the buttons work as well (So, I can play Super Mario Galaxy 2 just fine, but not Rayman Raving Rabbids for example). Could you know what I've been doing wrong?
You can't just assign "shake" as a button - you need to setup the gyro correctly in dolphin so that the accelerometer and gyro all get read-off. There are some guides online how to do this. Shake would be linked to the accelerometer for example.
idk why but for me it doesnt detect motion controlls. I use the pro controller...

edit: i read on a comment you replied to on the V5 video that there is a fork of the build that might work better with third party controllers (github.com/ynoser/BetterJoyForCemu) but i have no idea how to use it, any suggestions?

So I can't move/remove this file included with the package called "devcon". Windows keeps telling me I don't have permissions (even though I'm the owner of this computer). Any solution to that? A quick google search says it's a system file related to device drivers, but I'd like to be able to move this folder/delete it.
Uninstall the drivers, then you can move the folder

How can I use it as a JoyCon on steam? Everytime I open steam it gets automatically to Gamepad config, so I cant use gyroscope since gamepds dont have that
Gyro is exposed to UDPServer, not to steam
This is an awesome software, saves me time from downloading vjoy, cmu and all that kinda stuff. just one thing though, how do you activate the gyro to use it as a mouse? I can't seem to figure it out.
Set the config variable gyroToJoyMouse to "mouse"

This is awesome. Personally, I am having heavy lag between pressing a button and the response on screen. I turned off bluetooth and reconnected but that didn't help. I restarted my PC but that didn't help. Any suggestions?
Is this with joycon or pro controller? Are you using an internal Bluetooth card?
@@davidobotgaming I have the same problem, I'm using joycons and my computers internal Bluetooth. I don't have this problem whatsoever when using wiinupro but this is clearly better configuration-wise so I'd like to be able to use it. Hope there's a fix!
@@nyanwiz really strange how some people get lag and others don't. Perhaps make there there is unobstructed space between the controllers and the adapter? Try updating your Bluetooth drivers. If all else fails, I think people reported that external Bluetooth cards (USB ones) work well.
@@davidobotgaming I just made sure all of my drivers were up to date, maybe I have to run it as an admin? It's odd that it has problems with some computers Bluetooth. It would be nice to know if others who have this problem have Bluetooth from Intel, that might be the source of the issue.
@@nyanwiz i have this problem but just when seeing the game in a secondary monitor such as the TV. When using the pc screen i do not have lag. I guess the lag is because of the image transfer
So here's the story (TLDNR: Thank you David for the awesome work, BetterJoy is da bomb forget the rest like vJoy + Joy-con Driver or Joy2Key + xJoy):
- I tried Dauntless on switch and loved it as a free alternative to try the Monster Hunter gameplay type.
- So I switched (see wat I just did?) to the PC version for better graphics.
- Mmh I'm okay with my cheap xbox gamepad knock off but I actually prefer the two joy-cons as a gamepad.
- So to link it up to my PC I asked google as usual and most results are about vJoy + Joy-con Driver.
- Well it's a chore to configure, most tutorials are unclear and, in fact, you can't even download the Joy-con Driver so it won't work, never will again if dev doesn't bring it back up.
- Same thing with the combo Joy2Key + xJoy but in an even more obscure form.
And here we are at BetterJoy: downloaded it, installed the driver as per the readme and github recomandation, paired the joy-cons and VOILA it works great in a straightforward single step. I can only say BRAVO and keep up the good work! Repo watched and stared you more than deserve it!

Hello! I am having trouble with this, I downloaded everything, and then installed the drivers running them as administrator, but when I try to open BetterJoyForCemu, I get an error, which tells me that the DLL file "hidapi.dll" cannot load, and that it could not find the specidied module.
I am allowed to continue anyways, but then my controllers are not detected!
Is there any way to fix this? I am sorry if this is a common issue but since I am new to this I have to clue how to solve any problems

I'm having an issue using this with fallout 4 were I get double presses and sometimes pushing A for example will also simulate pressing Y or X or PLUS etc.. is there a way to fix this?

@@davidobotgaming EXELLENT!!! Got the issue resolved! It was either stemming from not having Hidguardian installed properly or it came from having both show as "xinput" and "DS4" selected at the same time!

Sure. Read the wiki. There are gyro options and you can map buttons to key strokes.

I've connected my pro controller to BetterJoy and I can't for the life of me get the Gyro to mosue controls working. I can't find anything online and I've properly installed the program. It works in everyway it's supposed to except for this which is mildly disappointing because I was hoping to use those Gyro to mouse controls for Super Mario Galaxy through Dolphin emu

Quick question, when i run the install drivers .bat file as admin it still doesn't install and when I try to run betterjoyforcemu without it says HidGuardian is disabled. How can I fix this?
It's fine that HIDgaurdian is disabled. That's the default

When I set this to mouse for my Pro Controller it's very jittery. Way worse than it is as mouse input in steam!

my dolphin interface is completely different and im using the same version
I want to play motion game with 2 players using each joycon L and R. For exampl Virtua Tennis. But somehow the gyro cannot work each R & L joycon if I connect it both as single (icon horizontal). It can work perfectly if I only connect 1 joycon, but not both. Can somebody help me out? thank you.

You can clear the mapping of "ActiveGyro" and that will cause it to always be on

Hello there. This software is working perfectly fine as a controller emulator so far, but I have no idea how to activate the gyro. I can't seem to find any information on how either. Maybe I am just bad at reading, but does anyone in the comment section feel like telling me?

If anyone is still wondering, you can turn it on in the app.config (nonOriginalController set it to true)
This just doesn't work. Drivers won't install, PC keeps saying the software is dodgy, there unhandled exception errors and the program won't detect the Joycons. PC detects the Joycons and Dolphin does but this program won't work for me no matter what I try.
I'm trying to install the drivers by running it as admin, but it still says "installation failed; you need to right click the .bat and "run as admin""

says right there on the tin. right click the .bat file and run it as administrator.

I'm having the exact same issue. My windows account is administrator, I run the file as administrator and it tells me installation failed because I didn't run the file as administrator.
My controllers won’t connect no matter what I try
With a pro controller this works perfectly fine, however after a minute of connecting joycons there is a huge input lag for me. This only happens when I use joycons, anybody else have this problem or an idea how to fix it?
I do, apparently there's a v6.1 nightly version and it fixes input lag for the buttons but the motion controls are still greatly delayed
I have this problem, too. It is quite exhausting while playing games. I really, really hope this gets fixed.
it says windows has protected your pc and i cant execute it
go to windows defender and allow the programs in the file, if you can't figure out how to do that search it up. Windows is detecting the program as unsafe but it is safe. . If that fixed it enjoy the games!
I tried uninstalling everything from v5. After that I installed drivers from 6.3v but program can't find my joy cons. v5 works doe

@@davidobotgaming it worked, tanks! Still got that wierd problem where sticks won't work at "full power" on x axis. I mean character instead of running walks when I go right or left
@@nou8913 might be a joystick issue. Try cleaning out under the sticks
@@davidobotgaming I played Zelda(I don't think I have any other game to check this) on switch with them and didn't notice anything like that. Probably should clean them anyway
I checked both of the joy cons in calibration thingy on switch and everything seems fin. Also saw some people having the same kind of problems but with pro controller(on github)

It would be really great if the program allowed me to use two joycons as individual controls instead of always pairing as one.
You can click on their icon to split them into two controllers.
