Yh, its kinda weird putting one song against a whole ass album. Kinda unfair, i mean i love Hangar 18 but the black album is just better with all its songs
Wow. How many people are actually this stupid. The ONLY song nominated was Hangar 18. Badmotorfinger, Attack of the Killer B's and 1916 are all albums. But, I guess, since it was Megadeth and Metallica, that's as far as your knowledge goes.
This is weird. The comment that I said "correct" to has been deleted. But it said that Metallica were nominated for their self titled album, which is why they used the name Metallica twice when naming the nominees.
@@7BlueDodger I agree! They have to be in the super bowl next year, us Metallica fans have to protest against the people in charge of the halftime shows and let Metallica play
Hangar 18 not winning here is as criminal as Metallica not winning in 1989. Still, love Lars' acceptance speech, so tongue in cheek, cynical and sarcastic. Perfectly anti establishment there.
I disagree. Rust in Peace losing to Stone Cold Crazy at the 1991 show was criminal. Hangar 18 losing to the entirety of The Black Album a year later was not. Metallica deserved that win in 92.
Because the Grammys are stupid and air the show in the year after the one they are supposed to be celebrating. Stone Cold Crazy and Rust in Peace both came out in 1990 and went up against each other in 1991. I think Metallica won a few awards by default after the 1989 debacle. That's the only way a cover song on an Elektra records tribute album defeats Rust in Peace. Even Metallica were surprised when they won in 91. You can see it on the "Year and Half in the Life of" home video. They didn't even go to the event.

They didn't. They beat Hangar 18 (one song) with The Black Album (an entire album). Rust in Peace should have defeated Stone Cold Crazy a year prior though, that's the real crime.
God imagine if they made a more intense album after the black album. Like not as technical as justice but somewhere around Master of Puppets. They kind of lost their way, black album's creative process just sucked the life out of them. And people don't really get that. Their health went to absolutel shit and it was time for a break and maybe getting them into eating healthy and exercise. Too much alcohol abuse, trauma and pressure for anyone to handle. And it came out as Load and Reload.
See . . . I want to make a separate comment about this. I've been a metalhead since 1981, and watched subgenres be "invented" in my lifetime. But . . . I was a "Rocker" before that, and in later years was a HUGE Robbie Robertson fan (he was from the band called . . . "The Band", and later went solo - TOTALLY the opposite of Metal or even Rock music). So when I saw this when it was shown, what happened was; Usually the idiots at the Grammy's have a script that the Presenters read off a teleprompter, and its usually a cringy "joke" or goofy description of a genre or bands (like Whoopie's "script", yikes!) . . . Robbie skimmed the lines, and he wouldn't have it! He went _Off Script_ and simply stated what HE "felt" about Metal and its contribution to music. Watch again and you will "See" his reaction and why he says; "I can't say this". Since this presentation, I give him HUGE praise and more deserved respect, not only as a musician, but a man that respects musicians and musicianship \m/.
@@mvunit3also Robbie Robertson is a legend and had to deal with this nonsense. Metallica also sucks. The song is a nice little gimmick. But most of their “music” is predictable. There was nothing predictable about Robertson’s artistry.
