Jason: Hi
Lars: Hello my friends
James: Fuck
And then Kirk being the nicest :D
Maybe that fuck was due to the fact that in those days he had been caught by Francesca and could no longer have fun with the female fans
ZI BE you can see that they had a nice ride James didn't
Kirk: Oh hello, how are you doing today, excuse James, he was trying to cheat on his wife, and now you fucked that up for him..... see you later!
Metallica Arise
"This is our Pyro man, he blows things up". Yeah, like james.
Antony Quigley man I know I’m 9 months late but what a quality comment lol
Antony Quigley Maybe after the Montreal Concert, they fired the pyro man LOL
And Jason hair
Lars paid him to blow james up
@@juanantoniocarmonacamacho3344 ?
It's incredible to see the hundreds of variables and people it takes on a nightly basis to get those 4 guys up on stage in peak performance 🤘🏼🤘🏼
Yeah it’s crazy how big of a production it is.
@Playstation 3.50 damn that's nuts
Jason: Hello
Lars: Hello my friends
James: F***
Kirk: Oh hey!
You have to love james
jens möller Yes and it is not very difficult
Was waiting for Lars to say GUYS HE FOCKING LEFT THE BAND
@@ubs0 "What can't you comprehend about that?! *He left the fockin band* "
@ThatMexicanGuy he is so cute
Cool to see Jason and Kirk just jam and rehearse for a bit.
Way better than the "When Doves Cry" fiasco
@@allee6096 lmao are we still gonna bring THAT up
Having laptops in 1992 shows how much money they had.
Wow I never thought of that
Good catch
it's a macintosh, used to go for around 1299 in 1993,which would be around 2600$ nowadays.
Not that crazy for the biggest band of the world at the time.
Touring their rigg around with all of those trucks must've cost 10x more EVERY NIGHT considering they also have to pay the truck drivers.
a once 2600$ spending for a few years
vs god knows how much in salary, gas, and renting shit for touring every. night.
@@339blackdiamond Disagree, the trucks and all the other expenses you named are a necessity and the norm in order to put on a good show but an expensive laptop is not.
They could’ve cut costs by doing it on paper (Vast majority of business firms still used paper before converting to computers for 10-15 years after this). The Apple Macintosh PowerBook was $2,299 in 1991, converted to 2023 is $5,100. At 13:30 you can see they have 3 laptops so they’re clocking in over $15,000 minimum in just computers.
$15,300 is an insane amount of money when they could’ve used paper instead for the fraction of the cost. Plus people weren’t as tech savvy then so there was potential costs of training people how to use it, etc.
Having laptops is the indicator that Metallica was rich as it was optional, the trucks were a requirement.
@@339blackdiamond
Metallica was nowhere near the biggest band in the world in 1991.
They were just starting to break out from the underground at that point.
Can you imagine setting that shit up and tearing it down every night for 17 months?
Robby U. Yeah mann...
These guys are true workers😎🚧💵
X40 years
It’s an army of crew, both travelling and locally hired hands.
I'd love to be a roadie on Metallica or Guns n roses 1992, fuck man you'd be partying day and night.
wow. what a treasure of footage from this amazing show!! It's crazy how many people's jobs depend on this band.
Don't be so mean to Lars. His eloquence(or talktiveness) actually contributed a lot to Metallica's commercial success.
purely down to cocaine
And demise.
coocaine
The band could never exist without Lars n James , everyone else is replaceable, as we’ve seen in the past.
@@eazyridin7283 I wouldn't call them replacable, sure they could go on with a new bass player but tbh if James or Lars had died in that bus the band would probably still go on. And Kirk has been in the band since like a year after they started so right now he's about as replacable as Lars or James
Damn do I miss Jason! He added an extra dimension to Metallica.
Amir Ostad
Yes he did!
Fuck no! Rob is better for the band today. And is better bassist!!!
Yeah, Rob is best for the band today!
Alan Poirier "neveeeeeer"
@@juanrezende4914 Rob is a beast on bass
Jason's metal face always makes me smile. I do the same. Lol
*points to Francesca*
“This is his sister”
oh my god😂
Tom Marvolo Riddle honestly😂 his daughter Marcella is identical to James. I’ve never seen anything like it before.
I love watching these kind of videos from that era and this one I have't seen before. Awesome! More of these please!
Surprisingly honest backstage tour. I enjoyed this :) Not the usual goofing around stuff from this area.
thanks lars for the tour :)
6:27 wow, jason's bass play is wonderfull!!
When i listening to Metallica's songs on a CD, I can not hear the bass at all ...
i can hear his bass sound clearly
I love how Lars picks up the food with his hands and puts it back in the food tray ahaha
Yeah like cmoon lars its corona time
Haha! I noticed that too.
Kirk and Jason doing a typical 12 bar blues... Cool
@8un3zz knew it sounded familiar
They were probably the best friends in that band. Kirk said in an interview around then that he hung out with Jason the most.
Kirk is a stoner child at heart. Underrated and underutilized imo. Little jimmy hendrix warm up
Saw them 97 lakewood Atlanta gawga
10:15 "The ham that doesn't quite fit the bread!" - Excellent Spinal Tap reference, haha!
I like Lars I think he is a nice guy and people say that he is not a good drummer but I think he is really good at what he does
13:44
James and Francesca
Awwww
Jason is an ANGEL.
James' "sister" was actually his girlfriend back then, today, it's his wife.
Yes... back in those days when they was young they had no kids and their gf´s always was with the guys on tour.. today its a little bit different...
RickyboyH i cant believe she is from my country lol
James´ "sister"... "SISTER" :D
Rj Simas Nothings wrong...
"Well, they can come over for one or two dates, but then they are off. That´s a basic principle, no wives on tour. Because it doesn`t work."
Lemmy Kilmister
I was 16, Metallica were coming, "Mom wanna Go, If Not i quit school" so my Patents brought me to the Arena, and waited for me 3 hours in the Car that Concert was over. From that year Metallica became a Family thing
Cool parents!
you must have been an asshole kid :)...
I respect manipulative, sociopathic kids like the ones who force their parents into complying with the threat of dropping out. As in, I don’t. You’re an asshole, or at you were.
It's crazy how their warm up room back in the day, but still during one of their most popular times, was such a simple, basic room. A couple road cases holding a few amps, stripped down drumset, just the very basics. Nowadays they practically have a studio setup for their warmup room.
When Kirk started playing an SRV lick I thought all is not lost. Blues For Life! R.I.P Stevie!
5:05 Jason recreated the best moments of Lars' whole drummer career.
That word processor at 14:05 looks so archaic compared to the computers that we've got today and yet, it undoubtedly was the shit back in 1992...
There wasn't even PlayStation back then. Sega mega drive was the cutting edge.
Here lies Lars' hair.
Jason: hi
Lars: hello, my friends
James: fuck
Kirk: oh hello, how you doing today?
It describes each a little bit
pyro guy is lars`s coke buddy i bet
definitely.....man ...he might was his dealer.....i think.....
Nah kirk
Lars paid the pyro guy to blow james up so he can finally own all of metallicas publishing
if you think about its just a couple month before the show where James burns his arms in a pyro accident
Going to a Metallica show back in the day for a young headbanger was like going to a superbowl for a sports fan.
Yep and I saved every cent to go to the 93 show in Sydney. I saw Guns n roses that year too🤘🤘
Man lars looks so fkn happy playing drums lol that would be dope. To get to do watu dreamt of forever.... Metallica Rocks!
Scary To think that this was 27 years ago!!!
Damn, I'm 18
When Jason grabs his bass to warm up he looks like a warrior grabbing his sword preparing for battle.
6:04 Steve Ray Vaughan's "Testify"
James' wife actually does look like she could be his sister.
17:21 amp settings
Oh jesus, Francesca hang out with James even during his interviews...
"Guns and roses didnt pay me enough money...HI AXL!!!" hahahah
It seems like in most of these Metallica behind the scene videos over the years, Lars is always eating or drinking. 😂😂 When you think about it, he burns a lot calories drumming. Also, he is good for the band...very personable.
I can't see him ever getting fat
You can really hear the Kirk influence that would later come out on the Load and later albums @3:38 and during that whole block.
13:33-13:54had no idea the computer technology had reached its progress since 1992...look at those laptops..
but wtf happened with live concert sound
Had reached its progress????
They remodeling amps. All digital.
lolll
II was looking for some old material from backstage ...I found the right thing. It's perfect!!
James fell in love with the woman who told him what to wear.
she wasn't star struck and that would be incredibly appealing
13:59 blows things up including James
Kirk and Jason jamming to Stevie Ray Vaughn...that’s pretty cool to see!
yay a video I haven't seen! lol
Chemical Juice same
ahahaha i was thinking the same..men i re-watch Metallica´s funny videos like 10 times..over and over again...XD
Robert is a sweet guy; and built like a brick shit house. He's very shy but a very accomplished musician. He's definetly worth of being in the band.
No.. Nope..
Al Lee Reason?
@@iqceo4276 Jason is better
@@andrewhicks3936 Doesn't do any good since Jason has been gone, so they need someone to play bass. It definitely wasn't going to be Bob Rock.
Finally someone that doesn't: "I like Robert he's great but he cant replace JASON" those people just make me so angry
Kirk is the coolest most chill member of metallica. He brings balance to this band. What is his nationality???
Philipino
No, his nationality is American. Born and raised there. What you mean is his descent.
He is from Uruguay
@@TheItalianoMafiosi no, he is from Uruguay
@@nemesysxr0163 that's just wrong. He was born and raised in California. Just look it up. Can you provide a source that confirms what you're saying?
3:25 Kirk has the cutest dimples I've ever seen, such a baby
I miss vintage Metallica. \m/
The best Metallica era
That's why Lars is the man. Anybody else at this level would just blow off any camera crew. He hangs out a lot longer and is very gracious, which is smart because it's basic marketing, but a lot of stars can't get themselves to do that. Been conquering people one soul at a time with things like that for the past 35+ years.
11:30 lol..damn! Lars pulling out the genital crab shampoo but quickly deflects that it's for the crew. Yeaaaah right! lol
14:55 This is our Pyro man, he blows things up on stage, and all the people in the crowd go wow!, Especially the crowd at Montreal
I was praying for a Spinal Tap reference and I was rewarded. Thanks Lars 👍👍
2:21 Don't touch Kirk's gutiars - you don't know where they've been :D
lolll
Back when James Hetfield was acting the pretend tough guy routine
It wasn’t pretend, he was an angry dude with a chip on his shoulder. Sobriety and working on himself changed his life.
If you looked at how he grew up and everything he put up with and survived until he made it big....he's probably a lot tougher than most people.
14:00 epic laptop!!
Macintosh.....x.00001
Wow, never seen this before! This is gold!
0:42 You gotta love James.
Lmao
Fuck
Fuck
Fuck
Fuck
Jason seemed relax on the drums, some decent basic playin´ right there, the guy could sing, play bass, guitar, drums, he could be the whole band if he wanted
Kirk used to be so solid. He’s misses so many things nowadays. He played that solo so perfectly. Just like the record.
Lars was actually a half decent looking guy before he lost his hair and went mutant.
Despond i like him back in the day with those hair. And fee beard with him
It was the luscious hair
Despond someone once said ‘back when Lars was a hot chick’ lol
Yeah and better than the mullet he had in the '80s.
Despond ■ You're diggin' that rugged Mountain Man look, huh. ;)
13:57 He's using a Macintosh PowerBook 100. The upscale version was $4599 back in the day.
this is really great. thank you for posting this.
Jason: Hi! :)
Lars: Hello my friends! :)
James: fak
Kirk: Oh hello! How are you doing today? :))
When music was real
Hammett in his prime.
2:21 proper warming up technique!
15:23 this is the part where Lars played with the pyro and James ended up walking right into it. Damn Lars.
Wow! First time seeing Kirk use an Ibanez.
the “dressing room” is 100% where lars keeps his blow stash..
I was actually at this show, my 1st Metallica show 👊🏻
14:05 this should be windows 3.1
nope it's Mac.
There's an apple icon in top left :P
Honestly, i really think Lars is funny here! I like the way he entertains and comes across at this.
Love the "ham that doesnt quiet fit the bread" Spinal Tap quote
I LOVE how Jason makes the Thizz face when he plays!
Jason: Hi!
Lars: Hello my friends!
James: Fuck
Kirk: Oh hello! How you doing today?
I wish I had these footage back n hi skool
14:53 Pyroman, guilty ??? jajajaj!! Montreal - August 8, 1992
lexther13
Hahaha I just commented about that fukn crack head 😂😂😂
He seems pretty high on something tho.Maybe went a bit to high there
@@margaritaandhector They changed the point where the flame to fade to black came from right before the show and forgot to tell that.
Yes but it could have been fun if he was standing with his pants down and was masturbating to a Guns & Rose picture.
05:07 - fuc* !!! Lars was pretty inspired that day !
To add my very own inconsequential piece of trivia to a corner of the web... this was three days after my first Metallica concert, over in Birmingham, UK.
6:00 Kirk playing Stevie Ray
Pog Champ never noticed that and yeah he is.
I love how the crew seem to be mostly British. Brown MnMs vibe
At 3:35-3:45, my man plays a riff from a hendrix song called Frredom. Then ends with a SRV lick! Metallica is great too.
James' wife has been there through thick and thin, thats love
My favourite video so far
Kirk is the only one who stays humble through all this years❤but I can't say the same thing about Lars🤨and James is in the middle, that is what they show up till this days 2019.
Jason: Hi.
Lars:Hello my friends.
Kirk humble and awsome ever:Hey how are you doing today?
James:Fuck.
Kirk ripping up those bluesy 70's hard rock style leads - nice!
so was that the guy that burned Hetfield?
D C
Yes. The lead singer/rhythm guitar James Hetfield got burnt severely by stepping in the wrong place at the wrong time (the pyro is what did it
Might not have been, they usually use a separate
European and N.A crew so it could have been Pyro Pete.
However I doubt it.My money is on the GnR pyro Guy
as they were on a split tour and He was most likely unfamiliar with Metallica's
cue spots
bro look at the original question its not about how it happened, He was asking who was responsible
and I gave Him a likely scenario
that bass drum sound. i'm speechless in 2018.
Jason: Hello...
Lars: Hi, my friend...
Kirk: Hey wassup...
James: Fuck.
lmao lars is crazy
Jakes shirt with their 5 albums on it looks sooo nice 😊😊
