If you've ever been at a Metallica show, you experienced what is the feeling... goosebumps, heartbeating, adrenaline pumping while you hear the intro...
Definitely. While you're waiting in the crowd and suddenly "It's a Long Way to the Top" starts playing, adrenaline goes through the fucking roof every time
Two shows. Always went out dissapointed. Mostly by James and his dumb speeches and the music became so boring. No excitement at all, I literally went to the second one only cause of my friends
All metal shows are like that. PanterA and Slayer was better cause was a small bit of fear. Knowing the crowd was there for violence and it was fixing jump off. Damn I miss that
James definitely seemed hyped up just before they went out, meanwhile Lars... was somehow yawning 🤷 my adrenaline is almost through the roof every time I watch this
I love this video SO much, especially the last interaction between James and Lars. The respect and bond between them is really evident and at the moment just before they walk out on stage shoulder to shoulder they seem like the same snot-nosed teenagers that started it all in a garage all those years ago. Could they have ever imagined back them what they'd build together?
im not a fan of their music since 1989, but id still love to see them live! and they all seem like good dudes...well, Lars can be a dick sometimes lol...
This was the only time i saw Metallica, it was pretty hype standing pretty close to the stage. Lost my voice for a couple of days after singing and yelling the whole time, totally worth it.
If you like that you’re going to LOVE this. Probably the most colourful, breathtaking and best filmed stage entrance I’ve ever seen. ruclips.net/video/8SktQwZmoNA/видео.html
You can't imagine the times I've seen this video dreaming of that rush. Feeling the roar of the crowd at the other side of the curtain, the rush of walking with your les paul onto stage with thousands of people watching you. It's unbelievable
this few seconds when the intro is coming to an end, and then the main riff comes and you see the whole crowd in front you....it must be one of the biggest moments ever!
When you're there, ecstacy of gold is playing, you're so fucking giddy out there, then in the middle of it, you hear it, the guitar, "hes back there!" Hearing james guitar during the intro makes me so happy.
How weird to stumble across this video. At 38 seconds, the steward in the reflective jacket standing at the entrance to the stage tent is me. I did a student summer job stewarding at music events and this was the best one. Saw Linkin Park and Metallica from the side of the stage. Great gigs and I was being paid (minimum wage) to be there.
You hear the Ecstacy, I get stressed: "time to get ready!!" They're chilling. Battery intro starts, they're still chilling. Seconds left and I am hyperventilating!! So obvious they are used to it...
Daaaaaaaaaaaaaamn!!!!!!!! can u imagine what robert is feeling?.... the man just entered metallica ten years ago and now he's part of the biggest metal concert in ages!!!!!!!!!!!!! wow.............
I'm just a poor guy, struggling for life..but every time i watch or hear Metallica's musics, it's kinda..bring back all of my power so I keep battle for a better life.. thank you the four horsemen..
Rob Trujillo stepped into heaven with this gig. This sent chills down my spine. Why would any rock star of their stature need any drugs? The adrenaline rush would be unbelievable!
Thank you so much for this video. There is something about this particular video, the music, the band huddle, the vibe, and some other intangible quality that makes me cry *TEARS OF JOY* for some reason. Extremely inspiring and healing God bless you for sharing this with us.
Awesome to see Metallica having fun entertaining the masses. These guys have earned every bit of their success, through a lot of sacrifice and hard work..👍🏻🤙🏻🥃🇺🇸
Wow! What a great video. A real dream of mine my whole life. I love Lars and James interaction right before going out. So mich history between them. And it was great to see them really happy and excited. One of the best videos I've ever seen
At 2.15 still drinking his coffee or water…super chill, not nervous literally seconds before the concert starts…These guys have experience man. Crazy video…
I have been in situations like this *not as big as them for sure* and a walk on is fun/terrifying - its a feeling of going to your own death but if you just get in the zone, enjoy it and be well rehearsed there is nothing to fear. Just own your show and you are good to go.
there were 65.00 people in there and I WAS ONE OF THEM!!!!!!!!! It was the best day of my life so far. When James started playing the riff of battery the crowd fuckin EXPLOED! It was unbelivable.
Its amazing. I think the biggest crowd I've ever played to was maybe 200 people. I can't imagine the feeling of playing to a crowd this size. Although, I wouldn't mind finding out :-)
This version of Metallica seems to be having fun again, hence the return to greatness. Loved Jason but I think Rob has the personality to balance James and Lars.
I FUCKIN´ LOVE THIS BAND PALS! ...SINCE THE FIRST DEMO "NO LIFE ' TIL LEATHER" 1982! I've seen them 19 times live on different european stages! 'TALLICA'TIL MY LAST FUCKIN' BREATH! REST IN SACRED PEACE, BROTHER CLIFF!!!! ^v^
Every time I watch this video in particular I can't imagine that feeling they must have going out and facing that many people. No wonder why some rock stars have it go to their head and end up with an Axl Rose size ego. Coming down off that high cannot be easy.
I saw interview with Chris Martin and he said that it's impossible to not become a prick at some point when you're routinely performing infront of 100k people. So yeah, it takes a lot of work to come down and be normal.
I'll never grow tired of dreaming what it would be like doing that walk..
Yes ..it has to be epic ...life changing
Same here, goosebumps only thinking about it

skeetv123 Fuck yeah!!
just punching in
And a nice cuppa tea waiting for him back at the hotel afterwards (Bloom County reference)
Another same old shit different day at the office
And the guy in the front crowd who got it all over his face said "Fuck yeah, I just got a drink thrown in my face by Lars Ulrich."
It's awesome, when you're listening to the Battery-Intro and can already hear James playing Guitar from Backstage.
wow, the feeling from backatage to live performance.
This sent chills down my spine and gave me goose bumbs
Would be so cool to travel all over the world with metallica. And see their show backstage, would do ANYTHING to get that oppurtunity.
become a rock magazine journalist.
They actually all travel separately these days, in their own private jets. I think Trujillo is the only one without his own private jet.

This gig was one of the best days of my life.
That's my generation, the 80s-90s rockers.
These guys are the best.... and to allow so many behind the scene videos to be shown is epic.
Lars yawns, I'd be puking blood. Fortunately I will never face a crowd like that - unless they bring back public executions.
never say never
some people live to perform.
He probably yawned intentionally to fix the ear plugs. I do the same
Late comment here, but I'd like to point out that I yawn before I get nervous before something, like a soccer match. So maybe, he does the same thing.
They just pretend like they aren't even people. Pretty simple really.
