- This build is very simple to use and might be worth a try if you're trying to get better at these Killers without overthinking your perk choice. The general idea is to use Agitation to trigger Pain Resonance, secure basement hooks and overall make it really easy to set up a defensive play around contested gens. Tell me what you think!

I've never even played this game and yet I find myself having watched Otz play it for like 3 years now.

The new Scourge Hook is currently my favorite new perk to run on trickster. It rewards winning chases(his strongest asset) and doesn't require him to have as much map pressure as other killers get. The movement speed addons are rather nice, i prefer a hybrid with throw speed and speed though.

As trapper main I made fun genblock build. Agitation, deadmans switch, that new scourgehook, and the new perk that after hooking everyone once, all gens are blocked. It would be even more fun with nemesis (perk), but agitation is to secure scourgehook. Everytime I hook obsession on scourgehook, gen explodes, and if someone was on it, it gets blocked for 45 seconds. And that can happen more than once. It’s surprisingly effective.
I really like the new scourge hook perk and just some of the newer perks in general. Killers like slinger, ghostie, and myers who have no map pressure because they are either slow or have to commit pretty hard to a chase have a chance to actually play the game. Hell, hex plaything imo is kind of sick. It’s no ruin or anything, but forcing players to have an alternate objective somewhat similar to pig or Freddy gets them off gens long enough to not just gen genrushed into the dirt

You know, Scourge Hooks make sabotaging hooks slightly less of a joke. Normally you just go "Whatever, I'll just hook them over here," but if they sabotage a scourge hook, you might have to use a normal hook instead.
I don't know if that's particularly useful, per se, but that's still a niche use for sabotage.
The existence of Scourge Hooks seems like a slight buff to Breakdown
Scourge hooks stack effects so more coming out will raise the value of sabo even higher.

@@ratheruncreativename3252 A killer going out of his way to a specific hook might be because it's a scourge hook. instead of guessing randomly it's probably better for you to force the killer into using a regular hook.

I’ll always run, agitation, iron maiden, enduring and some aura reading or now scourage hook pain as it’s amazing
Enduring so survivors don’t feel confident for that extra loop. You’re more likely to win on pallet plays
@@yungkaos if the survivors want to bum f the gens I’ll let them, on some killers I prefer to not run any gen stall perks. Instead use perks that help the base power or make me faster in general :))
Pain resonance is probably up there with my favorite perks of all time, along with bbq, starstruck, no way out, and save the best
No way out I find isn’t very oppressive when you have a good team on your hands easier on lower ranks. Starstruck is great without it being awful like noed.

Just use what works best for you. There is not a single build that works 100% of the time. For that it is to much rng on what map, layout and survivor perks you'll have against you.
Those people don't know how map pressure works. If you have one person on the hook, one slugged, and there's 2 on gens, at least ONE of those other 2 needs to hop off their gen (and thus it starts regressing) to come help. Then you can go chase the other off, to regress the 2nd gen, or try to intercept the unhooker, to make the 4th survivor have to come help too. Obviously you have to get downs for this to work, but Ruin doesn't require you to be teleporting to every gen on the map for it to give good value.
You have to keep in mind that Ruin, even if you don't pressure gens, is an extra bother and mental pressure on the survivors.
The one who is being chased and might eventually go down is thinking about how their 80% gen is regressing, the one who has to unhook has to let go of a gen that is at 60%, the one who got the killer brought to them now has to abandon their gen... Even if you cannot pressure gens hard, it should work to some degree. That's a lot more difficult on very big maps though, especially if the survivors are good and know when to let go of gens or not. But Ruin always helps to some degree. Unless you're very unlucky and the survivors spawned on top of it :/

I quite like pain resonance. However I'd like to see scourge hooks rng to be adjusted to they're evenly dispersed across the map.
The pain of getting a map like Haddonfield or Red Forest and you see all 4 hooks on half the map.
Maybe if the basement hooks be scorge hoocks too... MAYBE it will fix this problem

@@Knpc_ I think it'll just reward more basement dwellers, honestly. Gift of Pain and Pain resonance would make it hard for survs to heal and would really affect their gen progress, all from the comfort of the basement. And with more scourge hook perks possibly coming out, they'll come with more whacky effects that'll be annoying to deal with, all the while rewarding camp play.

so strange, i tried this build on nemesis after prestiging him and having no other perks and it worked wonders, then otz came out with this video. it’s honestly a really solid build and i’m now a huntress main, gotta try it on her

I love using Pain Resonance, Pop, BBQ and Iron Maiden on my Huntress. There are times where I make a gen regress 40% with those 2 perks. Resonance easily became one of my fav killer perks the moment it was first introduced. The amount of information you get is amazing.
I loved playing trickster but I got tired of him for awhile
This build seems really solid and I think I'll work towards being able to run it (I'm a newer player), thank you for potentially bringing out a new main for me

Wow that build works like a miracle on Trickster, for Huntress I’ll normally go with Iron Maiden, Discordance, Ruin, and Lethal Pursuer

Huntress is a top 3 killer of mine, next to Spirit, and now the artist. bubba as well, but i used the scourge hooks on her as well and love this build. Will use the other perks and see how it goes

Nemesis zoms are good, I main him and they are good at shutting down loops if they shop up during a chase or if you zone into one

I like to use pop with the new scourge hook to get that nice juicy 40% regression
The 3.5 movement speed is the best. Hands down. I used those add ons for movement speed to catch up better before you recommended it actually. Cool.
Question for Not Otz. Otz feel free to answer as well. Do movement speed add-ons like the ones for trickster in this video always effect speed based on the base "100%" movement speed? Or for example, in this situation is the 3.5% movement speed while holding knives utilizing the base modifier as default speed while holding knife. Sorry if it's confusing >.
Trickster for some reason feels satisfying to play with for some reason
Just the constant knife spamming and being able to damage them quickly just seems so cool.
The absolute pain I felt for the David in the first match. The fear of not knowing when a gate is safe to open.. his impending doom coming closer and closer. Out of tired desperation he runs for the gate BUT THEN, Otz comes around the corner and his whole world crumbles!

27:25 is a teachable moment. Otz downs someone while 2 other survivors are injured. He has 2 choices:
1. Hook the downed survivor. This means the other 2 survivors have time to heal, making the unhook somewhat safe.
2. Chase the other injured survivors. That negates them the heal and applies further pressure.
He immediately chooses option 2.

I think another cool feature to scourge hooks would be that those can't be sabotaged, I wonder if that would be too broken

I think Agitation and the scourged hook could also work on hag or even trapper, maybe you can try that out. Instead ruin undying i would use corrupt intervention + STBFL/sloppy butcher.
I got the idea, because i like to use agitation on hag and trapper.

I can't wait until it becomes possible to use 4 Scourge perks as a build. This new one is already my favourite and I combo it with Oppression and Eruption so I can have decent value from kicking gens and most of the time I'll get info on gens from both perks. It is ashame Eruption doesn't count on all gens affected by Oppression, but I think that would be literal Oppression and thus illegal.

I made strategy where when You hook survivor all You need to do is interrupt survivors on gens with your ability and the gens are gonna lock.
Is it useful or garbage?

Otz, how do you feel about the new Kindred perk being a default setting for survivors? I heard the new kindred will now add 8% progress to gens if the killer is camping

That 3.5 movement speed really matters, I've used that combo since he was released.
I feel like Surveillance & Iron Maiden might yield more consistent results for Huntress and Trickster. Instead of the classic Ruin Undying wombo combo. Because if the Scourge Hook explodes the most progressed gen then Surveillance will show it white until someone starts working on it. And it works like that if the survivors on the gen get kicked off by the scream and incapacitation then too. (at least I think it would in theory, I don't see a reason why it wouldn't do that) And then Iron Maiden for the higher chase potential/time saver of reloading much faster, alongside the comfort of knowing they won't be hiding in lockers.
Most survivors will immediately tap the gen so surveillance doesnt do anything and no only eruption makes survivors unable to touch the gen
I really like using Pain Resonance and Pop Goes The Weasel. Otz should try it out.

A sudden thought came to my mind. Would this work for a build; Scourge Hook: Pain Resonance, Nemesis, Dead Man's Switch?
I dont think so because gens don't regress when blocked by the entity, but maybe give it a chance
Pain Resonance doesn't synergize with any perks that block gens, aside from Corrupt Intervention. If the gen with the most progress is blocked, it'll blow up but won't lose the 15%, then will start regressing after it gets unblocked.
Dead Man's Switch only activates when you let go of the gen, so yes there would be some synergy. You hook the obsession, the gen with the most progress losses 15%, anyone on it will scream, and when screaming they let go and it gets blocked

yknow, its kinda obvious, but i never really thought to pair scourge hooks with agitation. another one of those healthy combos that encourages creative play
If a perk instantly regresses a gen it will work though a blocked gen but will not slowly regress until it's unblocked

@@saltysalmoling8055 there's also the shrine of secrets you can buy perks from with in game currency but it rotates only 4 perks once per week I think so it will probably be a long time until you can get those perks.

Otz, I’ve been loving Deathslinger with exposure perks like Dragon’s Grip and Iron Maiden. Basically a ranged insta-down! I highly recommend it
