Go to his channel and you can see his videos on it. He has some very strong opinions about it. Keep in mind, they were before the recent buff and change to his 4 knife addons.

He literally made a video talking about crosshair and how he only does it so he can focus on chat since ya know popular streamers have people who wanna talk to them. He even knows the center of the screen based off the axe and letters in the throw prompt and proved he can play her without one. Also hatchet flicking is the best thing a huntress has which he does insanely because he likes it and with the instant hanf flick the crosshair cant even help

Personally, I'd love to see him host Blight vs Nurse next time. Relatively speaking, they play somewhat similar, and imo they're the two best killers in the game. (On PC, at least)
I mean, Spirit, Blight and Nurse are in a league of their own tho. None of them need addons to perform well. Thing is, the skillset between the killers is a bit too different to really compare. Trickster and Huntress both have pretty much equal speeds and a similar power. Bubba and Billy too. Trapper and Hag have different speeds, but they heavily rely on their traps.
If there is any killer I'd compare Blight to, it's actually Oni.
My money is on nurse. Being able to bypass walls and obstacles is just such a good advantage for so many scenarios, especially on maps with verticality.
@@jdirksen I agree if the nurse if good enough there’s really no countering her power. Spirit blight and oni are extremely strong but there’s a always a chance
@@Predated2 gonna have to disagree with that. I'd say the only thing Blight and Oni have in common is that they can both flick with their power, and that the similarities more or less end there. Blight and Nurse, meanwhile, can both use their power super frequently due to how low the cooldown is, and their gameplay revolves around chaining rushes/blinks together to land hits. I'm not saying they're a perfect one-for-one comparison, but they're probably more similar to each other than any other killer.

Thing is trickster is pretty good at downing several possible at the same time, and if you've got somebody unhooking that's a guaranteed 3 or 4 health states, effectively downing the unhooked survivor again if no BT and having the second survivor injured with half the laceration meter filled if not more. And that's WITHOUT main event.
This killer as close as you can make a ranged killer seem like Bubba (in terms of the strength of its power to down survivors), I'm amazed I haven't seen the comparison being made up until now.

I made that comparison a while back, even before he got buffed.
People simply disregarded the theoretical potential of his power back then - once the numbers got better, he became very strong.
Same as Demogorgon - few buffs here and there, and we have a strong killer without any conceptual gameplay changes.

When I watched this live, I remember thinking the huntress could have afforded to be a bit more tunnel minded, whereas the trickster was sometimes a little too cautiously focused on tunneling, which is safer but I think potentially lost him a 4K once. I don’t think that moment is in this video though.
I believe what might have influenced this is the way the 2 players are used to playing. Freaky usually plays pubs and somewhat casually while Diablo is a competitive player, used to a setting where hard-tunneling and proxying are usual occurrences
@@uwutrashyuwu5044 thats mainly because in a comp match the teams you go against as killer quite literally dont give you the luxury to no tunnel or camp, thankfully in pubs you can afford to not camp and tunnel

Actually Trickster lost a lot by not tunneling that Claud hard enough. He could have downed and killer her instantly (cause ds was already eaten), but for some reason I don't understand he tried going for Adam... Giving him a free deliverance, not downing him and loosing a lot of time of catching up to Claud. If he didn't do it it would be 3k at least.
@@slademore1219 right. He in many of the matches sort of over estimated the survivors, and tunneled to be safe in certain scenarios in which he kinda just coulda won the game. This was across the full 2hrs of matches , not just these 20mins

Well, since Trickster is only oppressive in the loosest definition possible, Deathslinger.
Slinger is too weak. If only his power actually did damage upon infliction of the harpoon….
Injured - no scope - downed.
Healthy - no scope (renders injured) - reels in - (if succeeds) M1 - instantly downed.
He would be a much better killer overall. As is, he can still be bullied at pallets and such.

Whilst I'm of the opinion that Huntress is stronger than Trickster, Trickster for me is much harder to dodge and has a greater chance to down if they zig zag to avoid being lacerated.
Trickster has better 1v1s but sucks at pressuring multiple survivors as he has to commit with his knives onto one survivor
@@RykaWodzy couldn’t have said it better, trickster is almost forced to fully focus on one survivor instead of damaging multiple. Especially with his lower number of knives available, means that you can’t afford to really split them across multiple survivors. I really agree with Otz on the matter that trickster is strong if played dirty, playing him “fairly” means that you can’t really get those easy unhook downs.
Agreed, when I play against trickster I try everything to avoid his knives like crouching, hiding, and zigzagging but he still gets me. A big strength of his is that some people don’t know what to do against him
I can't be the only one who would love more content of Otz commentating over matches. All the knowledge, less distractions for him. I love it.
Its an interesting comparison now that trickster got his buffs, but I can't imagine it will be a good experience for survivors. Especially considering that the trickster round we saw was basically just "How to Tunnel 101"
Trickster is basically a God at tunneling and camping. Taking me from full health to down state within seconds
Against a real team (in this game, survivors were told to use tournament rules which limits the perks they can bring to 1 of everything, but 2 BT) then he would've needed to actually play the game. He abused the 1 DS rule to hard tunnel, but you can't do that vs regular SWFs

I mean it made sense as he knew the Adam had deliverance and if he denied the safe unhook then he wouldn’t be able to use it. Ultimately failed because of a good body block but it wasn’t a bad play at all.
@@mskane123456 You know, it's funny, I haven't faced but a single trickster since release. Nemesis on the other hand, I've faced at least 20 in the last week, and not a single one hasn't tunneled or camped.
Fyi to killers. When the survivors are running that loop on the cart where they vault and go clockwise, force them to go counterclockwise instead. He literally could have hit her as she vaulted and rounded that corner with a hatchet turning 30 seconds of going around that thing into 5. M1 killers would take slightly longer but at least you deny them that safe vault

You try to force me to go clockwise, but I can just leave the loop if when you try, getting free distance and Now I can use the pallet at circus tents and connect it to the 4 wall or the jungle gym or the main building.

@@AmericanGadfly well, opportunity is a strong word. He had opportunity at the cart, because worst case he can run him out of the vaults in a certain time even with no hits.
However, give These survivors some stronger chainable structures? They are very unlikely to get hit at those strong, more standard structures and if they don’t, you’ll be committing to a chase that will probably lose you the entire game if you commit or don’t commit.
Remember these survivors can reliably run a killer through like 3 minute chases without going down, if you let them have access to the tiles that are good. This map is a little weaker, but they had price thyself running this game, and full comms
It’s basically either take the cart, maybe get a skill hit but either way use it up and get your free hit OR risk the entire match hoping the survivor doesn’t catch your maneuver for the chance to get a little faster of a hit.
One thing that I find interesting is that both killers play different builds. Huntress has a way more chill build imo while Trickster's build is literally 3 gen perks and a perk that increases your chance of basement camping. I don't know if that kinda distorts the results (although I know his ruin - undying combo got cleansed early)
The only top tier killer i need is otz and his upload speed.

Losing to hitbox the size of the moon girl is just as frustrating as losing to spamming knife boy.

@@roccoon9892 not nearly as frustrating. Huntress at least takes skill to get the hatchet even close to you unless she’s breathing down your neck. Trickster quite literally just spams M1 and there’s not much of an opportunity to dodge

trickster really is the kind of the killer that you have to stay on one side of the map the whole game. While huntress can snipe survivor from across the map, trickster can't do anything about it.
Except that leads to a 3 gen, which forces you to be next to him

As a Trickster main I am appreciating the buffs. I still can't believe I got adept when he was broken.

Yep. Getting the adept with Trickster when, not only was his chaser emblem broken, but he was almost unanimously considered the weakest killer in the game; it was definitely an experience.
@@valeficent3377 I was an M1 killer the whole match. Couldn't use his power at all. It probably took me 4 days of trying. Granted I wasn't in red ranks at the time but in purple, I had to play scummy which I apologized in the chat afterwards.
I just couldn’t get it. I tried for so long, but 110 is just so slow. I got it right after the update, but I’m sad I never could before.
Just want to say you have to be one of the best streamers,.you're not toxic, you're super friendly and just all around awesome person just wanted to say you are the GOAT thanks for sharing and spreading not only knowledge but positivity as well.

@@privatepenguin2496 Yeah i do too, Diablo's gameplay was pretty uninteresting to watch because how he plays, yeah it's a strat but it's just really boring to have the killer parked in one place the whole match until someone dies. Freaky on the other hand was an absolute champion literally giving up his 3 gen to chase survivors, not tunneling anybody and still getting a 2k with okay-ish addon's. And the hatchets were just beautiful.

it's more that there is a bug where he can hit survivors that are being unhooked with his knives, when they're supposed to have invincibility frames
@@undertaker2766 i actually love playing against him. Other than Huntress dodging a few knieves do deny his powers feels way better than getting hit by Abnormal hitboxes from huntress. So i guess to not go down againt a trickster in a few seconds just takes more skill
@@bayonsn8378 I guess so. It's true that when your in a good part of the map you can deal with trickster (run and take cover) but in some part of the map you just instantly go down and I find it frustrating. Good for you if you enjoy going against him.
I feel like this probably isn't a fair showcase. The Trickster is hardcore camping, and abusing the fact that you can Lacerate the survivor being unhooked, *during the unhook animation.* This was changed during the most recent bug fix patch. Not that this is Otz's fault, but it is a bit unfortunate timing. That being said, the Trickster can do the same strategy, albeit slightly less effective, by focusing on the unhooker, because you can get damaging states as they run up & during the unhooking, meaning you can always have someone on the hook. (And in a competitive ruleset, they likely only have 1 borrowed time, so as soon as you get the BT user on the hook, you then have a chance to down the unhooker and the hooked BT user. Slightly more difficult, but still doable.) Definitely a shame that this is the most optimal way to play the killer though.

Well, he is a high DPS killer. Makes sense that landing stuff on continuously still targets is the most viable tactic.
Huntress/Slinger can do damage in tiny (time wise) openings. Tricker needs continuous line of sight, which makes his downing less quick (unless they are stuck in an animation).
Trickster, however, has a far greater advantage - he is inevitable, as, due to his chip mechanic, he will eventually down you (very much like old Legion, except in a more healthy way).

Oni is stronger than billy. no test needed. Otz showed how long it takes for an Oni player to gain his ability, its about 60 seconds. Oni's ability far outperform billy especially when using Top knot+Akito crutch at loops where as Billy engraving add-on are trash and he has no reliable charge reduction add-on equal to top knot.

@@kingol4801 Of course. It is because good players understand how to dead angle Oni's demon dash at loops. It is same reason why billy sucks currently as his chainsaw is nearly worthless at loops vs good players. If you play Oni without add-on, he can only walk with his power. He ends up being trash EV3 Myers with limited mobility.

Getting that Claudette down was really good bc it denied francis his deliverance. They had to work really hard to get it that second time.
I'm not sure if these would actually be great comparisons so forgive me but Top Tier Deathslinger vs Pyramidhead would be really cool to see (Both have very strong 1v1/ranged attack that can end chases prematurely).
Or maybe Pig vs Demogorgon (Both have an ambush/dash).

Snowball potential of Deathslinger is too low, he has to reload after each shot making impossible to injure multiple survivors and create pressure, PP Head would win easily

I don't have time for a massively long post so I'll just say it like this...
I find Huntress to be better on the Gen game. I find Trickster better on the Hook game.
A good Huntress can deny gens from across the map, whilst a good Trickster makes hook saves near impossible. That is their different strengths I feel.
trickster has better downing potential mid range, but huntress can zone ppl whenever she has line of sight which is a really powerful tool. both have nice pros and cons

Each have their strength and weaknesses, and all of them are awesome.

Yeah… Him being torturous to a slinger target is kinda his identity, and is even justified by the lore.

@@leodarknesshelm It absolutely is the characters fault. That, was the optimal way to play Trickster against a 4 man swf team playing like comp. A 2k was about as well as that could go for him. He did essentially 8 chases, with quick downs, and killed 2. If he spread that out he likely would have gotten less, and might have gotten 1k at best.
Otz sitting back and choosing which Survivors go against which Killer is... Well.
I think we all already knew that he was secretly the Entity.

Amazing that you got Zongow to play in this. I am used to seeing Niina and Lio or Hens play in these showcases but Zongow,Someone from competitive is really impressive to see
I never noticed until now, but you can tell Nea had an Adrenaline that couldn't proc at 15:25 because their health state lit up when the last generator was completed.
That might be common knowledge, but it's the first time I've seen it. One of those little details you're likely to miss while playing that you pick up as a spectator.

Iri Head isn't her strongest add-on at all, if you miss then you immediately need to reload and you have less maximum potential to get health states per clip than an addonless Huntress (2 max health states with iri head vs 5 max health states without any addons)

That double three hook tunnel by the trickster is a big part of why people hate playing against him.

Only in the open, which is why you might see many Trickster camp and tunnel. It's the only thing he's great at. Any other circumstance, Huntress downs faster.

He was a pretty meh Trickster in my opinion, He wasted tons of knives, missed long knives which can't benefit Trickster since he's only a close range killer now, and he wasted time by using an uneccesary main event.
@@ratman4910 I don't think it showed trickster power level at all. People have more experience playing vs huntress as huntress is older killer. Trickster is newer killer. It shows as survivor could not realize that he was out of knives yet they just ran in corner of the map when they could just loop a 110% easily. Not to mention that watching face camping killer would be much easier to just play insidious bubba.

@@therealshumbucket nah I would put nemmy at mid to high B. Pyramid head is still better but a nemesis that knows what they’re doing with the tentacle and knows how to deny windows is a force to be reckoned with.

I am a bit curious as to why the Huntress wasn't using BBQ for auras, although I guess if anyone was counting on aura perks from Huntress they could bring distortion. Thrilling is a good perk, don't get me wrong, but it is an interesting choice, especially with the cooldown it has.
Because its hard to get hooks so often in competitive and survivors could ignore it by hiding behind gens
@@abhinayvarma6648 Although that might be true in many cases, a lot if competitive players don't care about BBQ because it get get pressure away from the hooked survivor. And if you're picking someone up, unless the survivors get a save, you should be getting a hook, and the auras for Huntress will not only tell you WHICH gen they're on, but also WHERE on the gen they are, so you can line up a shot instead of just guessing. And if someone is on their way to somewhere, that aura reading can get them in trouble. And once the survivors know about Thrilling (which they figure out pretty quick) they can just let go of the gen before their teammate is picked up, and the killer will have no information that's where you are. They did this in the video, with the exception of the gen that was nearly done, they just finished that. Thrilling has the kind of counterplay that makes the perk completely useless.

At the end of the day, Trickster is a lower tier killer and even high tier killers such as blight, nurse and spirit often have to resort to tunnelling and camping to secure points, that's how survivor sided this game is. In my experience trickster is a min-max huntress in a way. He can reliably and swiftly down survivors in small loops and on the open, but it's insanely hard and takes a lot of time to down a decent survivor anywhere else. So what you want to do is force the survivors into your strengths and the best way to do that is to camp hooks.
I play mostly trickster but I still have a much easier time getting downs in loops as huntress. I find it really annoying when people show those mathematical theoretical interpretations that trickster can down a survivor in X seconds so he's the best killer in the game, while not considering that for this to happen the survivor needs to be AFK and in a real game scenario you just can't expect to be playing against 4 AFK survivors.
There's still much that could be done about Trickster, and honestly I think that even though he's a bit stronger now I had it a lot better in the fun department on old trickster, but I just hope BHVR starts giving a little more love to other characters that are in more need of reworks and changes instead.
Trickster is a DPS killer. Huntress is a burst killer.
This means that Huntress can effectively deal damage at any point, but has a downtime.
Trickster deals less damage at any given time, but more damage over time - hence, focusing still targets (stuck in the animation) is a great way of utilizing said DPS.
It is akin to Machine gun VS Sniper argument - sniper is good but has a reload time, machine gun is awesome but needs a continuous contact with the enemy.
As the trickster the best add ons are the rate of fire add ons
It changes your punish on pallets to 3-4 knives based on the loop
It also allows you to burst fire people down in the open and at shorter loops
His build wasn't great I find
Corrupt is alright but I prefer lethal pursuer to give Intel and to get an early down
Agitation is a waste on trickster unless you want a basement hook so I'd run I'm all ears or bbq instead
Undying is good for ruin
Ruin is ruin it's self explanatory
An alternative to that I like is enduring with eruption
Enduring gives you with the rof add ons the ability to land a couple knives on pallet drop if the survivors stick around too long
And eruption works on knife downs so it's pretty good

That happened to me recently. I kobed and yet the next hook killed me -_-
I've played a lot of trickster on that particular map I never have to face camp but I do generally well on that map in specific due to a chosen three gen that I get extremely territorial over to the point it'll take three suicides at least to beat it and even then no saying you make it out my doors but I can only do that on that map, otherwise he's pretty decent riding people's backs but huntress is by far the better range as I can hit a survivor and chew up their health states from 20 m away so I don't exactly have to be there to apply pressure, all in all I'd say trickster makes a better killer whilst being territorial wether it's camping or holding out gens but huntress makes for the better long range hunt
pretty ridiculous and unfair that trickster can tick up his laceration to 5 on the hooked person before they can even move on an unhook. especially with the range the knives have. they need to do something about it. maybe no laceration buildup on the hooked person while they are being unhooked?

Seeing trickster is my killer when I enter the map is really disheartening now. For an average player like me I cant stop myself going down way too fast to his blades since the update. My last couple games I've just died on first hook to him because it seems pointless fighting it. Especially solo queue with useless survivors running around doing nothing.
Hey don't worry it takes getting used to. My friends would get frustrated too and they hated going against him ever since the buff dropped. But it's not that bad, you gotta just find a tall loop and loop it tightly, disrespect the pallet until he stops pulling out his blades, when he catches up you stun him and hold shift W for as long as you can until you have no choice but to loop him at a tile again. Then repeat. It's easy once you get used to it. He's very slow so once you take advantage of it it should be fine. This strat helped me make most of the tricksters drop chase and if they committed many gens were done. Good luck.
Stop giving up and try, trickster doesn't have lock-on knives. Stay out of the open and break line of sight as much as possible.
he's ranked low for a reason - he's one of the easiest killers to play against. especially if you're in an enclosed map like raccoon city police station. i think you just need to practice dodging more
@@byletheisner8269 the main problem is that some people don't see him slot so they can't practice against him. I main him and some people just never even try to dodge the knives and then get mad and call him op but he's really not at all.
@@leodarknesshelm i main him as well. it's not easy to hit with knives - the hit boxes are small. it baffles me how people complain about him but don't bat an eye at the purge.

Huntress can spread pressure effectively. Trickster lacks that, but has a far more threatening single-targeted power.
The ranged chip idea is amazing - strength of a huntress/slinger without their weaknesses, albeit limited. Likewise, design and VFX overlay.
Don’t try to justify your dislike by using my own arguments. Game lore is a cherry on the cake, which very much applied to Bubba/Oni/Spirit/Myers with Tombstone/Rigged Pig as well.

It's laughable how strong the survivor perks are when I look at the perks here from the killers. Even ruin wasn't useful
To be fair, those survivor perks are only strong when you look at survivors as a team. Ruin has been useful enough to get someone dead on hook and he wouldnt have been able to use Pop. Personally, if any perk wasnt useful in that match, it was Undying.

As a trickster main who tries to play fairly, I agree with what you said at the end, he shouldn’t be able to camp
His camp game is just as powerful as Bubba’s.
i don't think people complaining about the trickster camping understand why he did it. adam went in for the rescues. if he did a safe rescue, that would have activated his deliverance. it was a planned strategy from the survivors - anybody else could have gone in for the rescue, but it was always adam, so the killer had every right then to try and make sure he didn't get deliverance as much as the survivors tried to get it.

As much as it sucks that trickster camped and tunneled otz did say "be ruthless" and trickster just seemed to take that more literally than huntress
It's survivors fault, don't hook bomb and that won't happen
Huntress gave up, because she cannot hook camp as effectively. (Even with add-ons, at best she can do 2 health states of damage before going into recovery)
Instead, she tried to spread the pressure across the map - something that trickster does not have.
If anything, using the specializations of their powers to the best degree is exactly why it makes for a good comparison.

Trickster is a Bubba/Huntress combo in terms of gameplay. His kit is designed to deal high DPS, and thus, is perfect for defending hooks/attacking stationary targets.
Nothing wrong with using killer’s power as intended. Likewise, PH is made to tunnel caged survivors, and it is given even as an in-game tip for new players - devs expect us to use their powers to full potential, whatever that might be.

The one thing I can’t stand seeing trickster players do, is when chasing a survivor with your knives out. Instead of turning the corner and slowly peeking it (as the trickster in this gameplay does), you should turn the corner and basically be thinking about where the survivor is going to be. Basically scan them through the wall. By doing this you get more knives on the survivors faster. Even if it’s just one extra knife, it makes a difference

If you commit to this strategy I can change direction every time I hear you start your animation late because you have to start the throw animation and don’t have the threat of daggers coming out yet.
In other words, He comes around the corner drawn because it forces the survivors movement. If he doesn’t do that, they can change their trajectory because they know they can start a dodge later. With your strategy, you are basically risking ever hitting them for 1 extra knife. If the survivor is really good, they might be able to take advantage of this about half of the time at least, and with the decay change, if they ever beat you in this scenario, you might lose a huge amount of laceration
@@Summonick2 I see what you mean but a half decent killer will know where a survivor is running, and if the survivor doesn’t go where they should be doing what else can they do? They’re left in the open at that point
