- Just a painful match that shows just how annoying it is to face a battery of meta perks without running any meta perks yourself. This match took place during a challenge where I was limited to running certain perks and no add-ons.

I recently started playing killer and my God the amount of times I've wanted to smash my mouse into the monitor. I'm learning to just play along and not take it too seriously.
its more fun in the end imo, you have to think about a lot of more stuffs than a survivor. For example, guessing what they will all do at the same time at anytime if you want a win. And w/ camping or tunneling it is even more difficult.
If you recently started you shouldn't expect to win that much. Treat each match as a learning experience. It's like any other established game, if you're just starting a game that's been around for years you're going to be thrown into the deep end with a bunch of sharks and told to learn to swim. Take comfort that you are actually a baby killer and you have an excuse.
@@Zakon673 tbh i would say it's way easier to win when you're new and play killer than when you're a experienced one but also your survs are. I dunno why but I've always felt it that way, maybe is cuz most new survs "fear" the killer and don't go do the risky stuff, which is most of the times the more powerful one
Just start only using Brown add-ons and off meta perks.
That way if you do end up losing, at least it's "fair" since you crippled yourself anyways.
@@randalloses2748 Yeah but the problem is that because of the way the MMR works, killers will rocket up the MMR incredibly fast because of how easy it is to win your first games. Then you meet the sharks.

The fact that the 2 specific people that Otz slugged were the only ones running unbreakable is just sal to injury.
I'm very thankful you post matches that go less smoothly as well! It's easy to get lost in the perception that good players only get good matches, so having a reality check every once in awhile is very nice.

As a huntress main, some matches can feel like this, if you are just somewhat off in your shotmaking it can become such a frustrating match, I felt this on a spiritual level

Jesus christ dude they kept trying to corner tech him, they wouldn't heal before going for the unhook they gave him free hits and downs after he would get hooks....it was a mess. Otz was using huntress (not even close to his best killer) and he was running shadowborn, brutal, iron maiden, and oppression. And they had dead hard, DS, bt, iron will, unbreakable, boon circle of healing and he still got the 4k before they finished the final gen

Hello friends. Todays video has the following build:
Brutal Strength: increases your action speed of breaking pallets, walls, and generators by 20%
Shadowborn: increases your FOV by 15°
Oppression: when damaging a generator up to 3 other random generators begin to regress. Any survivors working on one of these generators receives a difficult skill check
Iron Maiden: increases the speed that you search lockers by 50%. Survivors who exit a locker scream, revealing their location for 4 seconds. These survivors suffer from exposed for 30 seconds
Whenever I play Huntress or Trickster, two killers that will be opening lockers, I rarely if ever use Iron Maiden. This is in part because survivors will quickly realize I will be opening them regularly to reload.
That being said, I did have a match playing Trickster a few days ago and surprisingly, caught a Leon not once but twice inside a locker. A lucky break for me, but one rarely to happen again.
We think the entity is feeding off the in-game characters, but its actually feeding off all of us players. The MMR system is actually the entity stepping up its game in order to feed on us heavier till we are left to the void
That's actually a realistic cannon way to explain why the game sucks so much grass (minus the gr) . The devs were the entity all along.

Something about watching Otz who is very well experienced in the Killer role have a rough match makes me feel better about my Killer skill.
This is the kind of match that when I'm playing- will end my night playing. Because its so much effort to get the win that I don't possibly feel like playing another.

I am astonished that there was no salt coming from the survivors at the end of the match. From my experience that would have been a hella salty end game chat. I felt your pain in my soul and it makes me glad that I have stepped away from dbd.
Because he’s a streamer/RUclipsr with a massive audience. If he wasn’t they would have eviscerated him in the chat. Makes me glad I only ever played on console, still got the endgame hate messages, but since there was no chat and they had to personally message me it was way less frequent. Even more glad that I haven’t played this trash game in over a year now.

There's something sinister about people who play like this but are actually not salty (or at least not salty enough to trashtalk).
I noticed at high skill levels on both sides that its more of a race of endurance of who can operate mistakeless for longer. The survivors started making mistakes after a while. Thats the deciding factor when survivors get close to the skill ceiling is their endurance to operate mistakeless.
I remember having a game almost exactly like this while I was doing adept huntress was absolutely painful and yet I got it because of just how greedy they got
Greed is the biggest thing that will get you killed in DBD
I mean, survivors always try to get everyone out, because it's extremely easy to win and no matter how many hits you take or downs trying to save the person dead on hook, you can still recover, do all the gens and get 3 escapes.

So many times in this match it seemed like it was over, that otz was fucked, and he was feeling it for sure, but he kept at it. He did what be could, and it was enough to get the win
The win has no value, he was still miserable playing it.
Imagine having every second chance perk under the sun, 2 gens down before the first dying state and still dropping the ball so hard at the finish line that the killer gets a 4k.

it's sad to see her in this state when she was once ranked as the 3rd best killer. dbd added so many shitty maps despite the fact that many killers are map dependent, and then they added sbmm and boons along with new killers that just have better anti-looping powers with map pressure (spirit, blight, artist, etc.) it's just unfair imo almost all old killers need some buffs

I had a game where I got to an area a Survivor was and for some odd ass reason I just couldn't find her even though I knew she was there. It was bewildering. After not finding her for a few seconds she literally started doing a totem right under my nose and I still couldn't find her.
In a previous match, I could determine that Survivor A is still in a spot on the map just by seeing the Aura of Survivor B running from that area after being unhooked and healed, determine that Survivor A had just hid in a locker to avoid BBQ and would be still in the same spot, find Survivor A and be able to down them just from the small information of seeing Survivor B on BBQ but yet I couldn't find the Feng in a corner of a jungle gym that was 3 feet away from me while doing a totem. . . What?!

I will just stand there facing a corner at this point if I see it’s a sweaty swf squad. It’s not possible for me to have fun during those matches so I’ll just not play the game.

Don’t behavior makes killer so fucking frustrating to play. Survivors have so many safety nets and second chances that it feels like you’re trying to bring down a brick wall by headbutting it.

I wouldn't even say this is a bad game, this is a NECESSARY game. He's right, in certain situations, you just need to read the room, and he called it right. Super stressful game.
Basically all my games are physically painful. Seeing my teammates as a survivor gives me aneurysms and then when I play as killer and get crushed, my heart beats .002 times a second slower.
I played huntress the other day and didn’t realize I resonated with Otz so dearly. What a pain it is
raised my killer mmr to what is likely the softcap a while back, i completely understand the experience of everyone having dead hard and, if not, having a different exhaustion perk that easily gets value on whatever map they send you to

Maybe once every 8 matches I have an actually enjoyable one.
5 are sweaty SWFs who take the best perks and add ons.
2 are WAY too low level to be playing against me and I STOMP them.
1 is solo queues who know what they’re doing and have good perks and add ons and I actually have a good time playing against them cause it’s fair and equally matched.
It’s almost as if survivors gain a HUGE advantage from being able to communicate with each other.

@@donut6837 The sad thing is that communication between survivors doesn't actually HAVE to break the game though. There are plenty of other 4v1 games out there where the survivors just have built in communication for the survivors and still end up more balanced than DBD. Heck, having built in comms actually allows for some interesting killer abilities. For instance Soul Dossier has a ghost (killer) that can morph into a survivor, do all the things that survivors do and chat in the survivor's VC before morphing back into the killer to get downs.
So it's entirely possible to design a game where survivor comms are part of the game an the game ends up being balanced, it's just that BHVR doesn't want to spend the time or effort to do so.

The best advice I’ve heard about this game is that if you’re playing killer and you start losing, all you have to do is imagine that the survivors are your friends. It helps me tremendously. Like when I see someone dead hard out of a hit I just go “you fucking ATE that”, it makes it fun lol.

I feel like survivors would point at this and say this demonstrates the game is killer-sided, because Otz was able to 4k without meta perks.
Except he had to play absolutely viciously by hardcore camping & tunneling, relying on a huge amount of experience to make ruthless macro decisions.
And even after all that, he only really was able to win bc the survivors made a few mistakes. Versus good survs, it feels like the game is just, theirs to lose.
Matches like these are so intensely miserable, and it's only all the worse if you aren't playing one of the best killers in the game, or if you're on a really bad map, or the survivors know how to make your meta perks practically useless.

As someone having a nightmare of a time trying to get Adept Huntress lately, thank you for posting this. I feel less alone.
Otz please take a break my dude. I can feel this video so much. Im a survivor main who has been playing killer for the past week and I've learned how to play by watching your videos and other killer main streamers and my goodness it sucks the life out of you sometimes. I'm only as good at it because of the knowledge you have provided but man have I sprouted some white hairs. I will never complain about camping and tunneling killers ever especially with games like this.

I had CC on and the first things I saw is those being stuck on "Ohio State Issu such a default name". What's up with those lol? Also I get the feel. Had a game with compund 7 enduring lv1 against meta immersed gamers focused on doing gens and two downs next to two nearby hook allowed me to come back.

this isn’t proof of the game being survivor sided the only reason this happened is bc it was obviously a swf, i play both sides and 8 of 10 matches for me in solo q is painful so no the game isn’t survivor sided just swf sided

Clutchdarva, the anime. In the manga some of the deaths were different but they really nailed the adaptation of the hopelessness from panel 52, chapter 286.

This furthermore proves my point that winning and losing isnt everything, it's about how the match plays out that determines how fun things are. You can win but it will still be stressful as hell and take ten years off your live, and you can lose but have an absolute blast playing, or you lose ten years from your life and still get absolutely destroyed.
I find myself not really enjoying killer anymore since there is literally to no variety in perks from the survivors (the game heavily promotes running meta, in most matches you get shafted for not running meta as killer), and I have to use playstyles that I dont personally enjoy in order to win. "But just tank your MMR or lose the matches and have fun doing it", I shouldnt have to go out of my way to de-rank to have fun, that's not a good system.
Stop spewing bullshit. If what you said was true, you'd get to the highest mmr possible using non meta perks. You don't have to "tank" your mmr unless you use 4 slowdowns for 10 matches

I saw this live, I started walking around my house while watching because of how stressed this made me
I had a match when I was held hostage and I just was practing my looping and now I’m unbeatable
That pallet stun at the beginning was the start of a dark time....
Same map, same killer, went up against a flashlight squad. All unbreakable, too. Two bled out, two got hooked. Worst 15 minutes of my life, but SO WORTH the victory. First time being bullied, and I stayed and won rather than DCing and losing
Did I mention they did NO GENS? Yeah, not only did they bully me, but it was their MISSION
I had a couple wins with ghostface.. now all survivors i face are like this... it is hell. 3 gens gone early, ruin found within the first 15 secs... survivors that seem impossible to catch without some camping and tunneling... dead hard giving them free loops everytime.
Now imagine all of that and u r not a 6k hours streamer...
100 times more survivors than there are killers (20killers to 2000survivors on average in NA)
The game is dieing because one side will eventually always be the unbeatable wall that normal killers meet within just a few hours of playing.
Survivors are insanely overpowered and only a handful of killers if they are played perfect can even have a chance to keep up with them.
To anyone who disagrees keep this in mind, the side that gets picked more often(the character/class/group) is always the one with the highest and easiest chance to win, in this case Survivors. by a factor of 100. I am just objectively correct by saying this, this is not an opinion.
The game wont die unless people starts being smart and stops wasting money on anything of this game, but not for a week or a month...Just permanently

The Aces doing the clicky clicky its what I call "El clásico", but DbD instead of football.
Everytime I use the concoction add-on it shows how many people uses Dead Hard as crutch, those that are not affected doesn't even run exhaustion perks which is a bit insane, still great loopers whenever I get survivors that barely get affected by that add-on.
Otz, you mad lad entertainer, I love how you can turn such a bad feels into a hilarious commentary. This is a great example, when I play Killer, I'll get flamed for being slugged, proxy camp or scummy.. but sometimes, based on the sickest perks a survivor could possibly have, those tactics are to not counter them but give us a chance to not only apply extra pressure but actually.. win a match. All based by the fear of, Dead Hard, Decisive, Iron Will, Unbreakable and maybe Adrenaline.. I like letting survivors win but when they pop 3 gens in a minute, I feel like I have to assert dominance or have a bad tasting ggwp by survivors.
Anybody talking shit to you for slugging, camping, or tunneling should promptly be ignored. Honestly, it's probably best if you just say "gg" and then ignore the post-game chat entirely. That's what I do. Win or lose, I say "gg" and leave without reading. Makes my experience with the game a lot better.
The worst part is that he was even lucky that the only one who he really tunneled was the only one without ds, otherwise it would've been EVEN WORSE😰
I know! Like, maybe one or 2 survivors might've gotten out and it could have ended in a 1k or *gasp* a TIE?!?! Oh the horror

The problem is people are too concerned with their 4ks. They cry and stress about it if they don’t get it. This game needs different modes (preferably less competitive ones).

Its gotta be rough playing games like this, wish the power ceiling of perks weren't so high, because it really punishes you not playing the best killers (i know thats subjective) with the best perks, and then the same for survivor perks, it leaves no space for using anything but the best without being severely punished, and its not like you have a relaxed mode, every single game you play at the same MMR is under the same pressure, mad respect to you man for persevering despite all that

I played DBD for more than 2k hours since 2016 but I never used addons or items and tried to keep meta at minimum. To me the meta is so fucking unfun it genuinely made me quit DBD, I hate how everyone tryhards now in both killer and surv because all matches end up being painful as fuck
As a killer main who stopped after MMR update i was considering updating and playing again, thanks for avoiding me the pain Otz that match wasnt in vain
I like watching Otz, but I refuse to play until Circle Of Devs Only Play Survivor gets nerfed into oblivion.
Which won't happen until Survivors have something stronger to replace it.
Survivor Meta: Gets replaced with newer, stronger perks to shake it up.
KIller Meta: Nerf the used perks to shake it up.
This is how the devs think, and why Survivors actually slam Killers for breaking 'Survivor rules'; they have been so coddled that they expect everything to favor them.
I was chilling around the official forums, and saw one person claim 'Killers should never 4K because they don't get every kill in movies'. This is the Survivor mindset; 4E is fine. 4K is broken.
Kind of amazing how bad of a state DBD is in, I mean it must take serious effort.
They're really screwing up their game. I just don't understand how hard it is for developers to listen to their fanbase
Matches like these are the main reason that i stoped playing killer. 90% of my huntress matches looked like this before i quit and now that i tried to come back to playing huntress i loose 80% of matches like this because my aim is nolonger on point. Then the mmr says: "Looks like you need some weaker opponents..." And then i stomp some people with 100h of gameplay and it is just boring for all involved. I am just too frustrated with dbd to play it for more than 3 matches in a row if at all :/

@@jammyweegit1144 yikes. You’ll never get better if you just dc. I’ve had terrible starts and still won many times as killer. It’s crazy how many of y’all still win but aren’t happy afterwards. Kinda sad. Nothing wrong with this game, they were 4 good survivors all working together, and OTZ still came on top . I see nothing wrong with this
@@Nman_37 Not everyone wants to "get better" or consider sweating as fun, some people would rather have an actual fun match even if they don't come out on top.

OTZ still won this match , just shows that if you don’t give up and you take advantage of how greedy survivors get then you can win any game. OTZ was sweating, maybe not a sweaty build but he still was sweating and yet all you guys focus on is the survivors. Kinda sad how that’s how y’all think
Remember, the devs will nerf slowdown stuff since it can "slow the match down too much" and make the match too slow, but survivors have been able to stack second chance perks on top of second chance perks and that's been the survivor meta for *years* now. They'll nerf Ruin since it was used in over 80% of red rank matches, but DS, Dead Hard, etc., have remained consistently strong and used across multiple survivors in a match for *years* (despite DS' various nerfs).
i agree with your sentiment except for ds the perk does it’s job it’s an anti tunnel perk it cannot be abused as it used to be
@@christianftt3136 It's more an anti-momentum perk. DS procs regardless of if the killer was actually straight up tunneling, or if they just happened to stumble across a recently (read: in the last 60 seconds) survivor. DS doesn't discriminate, which is a problem.
Not gonna lie, the only way I feel that Otz can be do wholesome in a game like this is because he put himself through hell with all those DemonSoulsBorneRing challenges he has done/will do, raising his emotional fortitude 10 fold.
When otz gets heated is when he usually steps up and takes the win, I had eye of the tiger playing in the background.
Yo I think Bandito and Tom are Bandito and Cru5h, look em up, may be wrong, could have the same name, but they play the same characters, and same playstyle, and same skins, and flashlights
Tom was Dwight and Cru5h plays Dwight all the time, so I bet it was!
Lowkey unlucky if it was them bc they are on different servers so they probably had like 110 maybe even like 150 ping this match

And this is why I hate playing Killer at times. But I still won't camp or tunnel unless a Boon is in play (which there was one this match), because C:oH is totally overpowered and makes shit games even less fun.
But then I go play Survivor and am the one camped and tunneled for five games in a row because the Killer is doing a win streak challenge or they just straight up doesn't care about me having fun as long as they get their 4k.
Why do we still play this game? Why do we hate ourselves this much?

Winning a match like this doesn't even feel rewarding lol idk how people still bother with dbd, it's one of the most unbalanced + buggiest game ever.
Because not everyone plays it for a living at high level like otz, it's very fun if you don't play it for 8 hours a day every day with basically infinite mmr
@@gydalf9490 ofc but sometimes you can't even meme around or play for fun, doing so punishes your teammates (incase you're soloQ) and then they get salty and message you. Most killers I encounter play like their mothers life is on the line. It's just not fun for both parties, you can't win, no matter what u do, that was at least my experience.
@@gydalf9490 Well tbh as a killer you just need 1 or 2 kills to get a higher mmr. And the problem is that the higher your mmr the better players are matched with you. So technically it becomes fast really unfunny as a killer because you get matched with good survivors. My point is not having to win every rounds but having fun to play this game. Survivors like this dont let you room to think since theyre well coordinated resulting in not really having fun since they mostly do gens fast and finish this game early while you maybe just have 1 or 2 hooks. As a hybrid main i just want to have fun and chill matches as a killer.

Ngl after the 3rd death I kinda shed a tear, probably because mainly play killer and I thought the game was set once they finished the 1st 2 gens.
This game was amazing to watch and it just shows how good Otzdarva is as a player and how intelligent and able to capitalize on the opponent's mistakes, greediness and altruism, what a match.
honestly glad i havnt returned to dbd yet, it still seems so horrible to play killer
Please post more of these matches, even if they're losses. Always enjoyable to watch otz in pain because I can relate more to that than the matches where survs just get sent to the slaughterhouse.

its a great idea for a perk/action you can take in game, but the rewards are probably not skewed well (DH for distance into safe pallet which leads to fresh loops/tile, living way longer)
but as a resource to make going down less assured, or a way to reward countering a predictable killer, or even just that small glimmer of hope and unpredictability when you can tell you won't make it to something, i think it works well and i wish more perks could feel impactful like it

Killer is both the most engaging and most frustrating experience ever. Unlike Survivor there's never any resting period you are 100% making active decisions the entire time, no breathing room healing in the corner or working on a safe Gen. When games get hectic my heart stops racing. I've had games where I have hooked everyone twice and there's only one Gen left and managed to barely squeeze out a 3-4k and that's rough.

Ever since the mmr test every match has been like this. I feel like if I don’t main blight or nurse I’m just going to lose every game, dead hard, ds, unbreakable, bt and so on. It’s not that I absolutely hate it, but I’m a casual player. Dbd doesn’t have a split between sweaty 4 stacks trying to win and casual players, so I just have no will to play killer.
