- This add-on is both simultaneously overpowered and completely useless. The "Death Throes Compilation" makes your knife do 50% damage, then 100%, then 150% and finally 200% damage, but only if you can hit consecutive knives without missing a single one.

I feel it coulda been good now. At the same time they made it easier to be accurate with him while removing this. Imo the addon was the worst because it wasnt up to you if you missed.
This addon makes this killer even more sadist by staying close and laughing right behind them before to make sure you hit.

*When your game is known for having very funny hitboxes, is structured in a way that makes using projectiles very hard (loops and other stuff), and also aiming the knives in general is difficult, and you make an add-on that requires 100% precision*
The hitboxes are fine (on the killers end, its jank as fuck for survivors)

It's just that they attached this to a killer built to spam.

I think a simple change to make this addon pretty great would be to instead of having it instantly go back down to 50% after missing a knife maybe have it go down 50% from whatever your current percentage is, so if you're 200% and miss a shot go down to 150% and then if you miss another down to 100% and etc.
Not a bad idea. It would also help if the knife hit boxes were more generous (not to the point of huntress hatchets though).

It would still suck. Just make it so landing a knife increases laceration by 50% up to a maximum of 200%. No penalty

My problem with this add-on, from watching this gameplay, is that basically every time Otz is using them to get downs, he could’ve just M1’d
The add-on can be pretty insane when survivors are stuck in an animation like vaulting or unhooking. With the -1 blade hits, you only need 5 hits from the 50% charge to get an injure state. Most survivors I’ve played against have complained that the perk is overpowered. Also, the add-on is is equal in damage if you get three hits in a row, which isn’t hard to get. I think it is actually insanely strong from my usage of it

Finally a smart comment here. The chases in this vid lasted to long to proof any good use for this addon.
Yeah, but it builds for the next chase. You lose some time and can abuse it later during animations.
And the point about using the power instead of M1 is almost the same as with Huntress: you don't have the hit recovery so you can keep up with the chase faster.
The huntress gets an iridescent add on that makes her projectile an instant down. The trickster gets an iridescent add on that requires him to have 100% accuracy with his fast throwing knives so he can deal extra damage but ultimately get the survivor down just as quickly as if he was using his knives like normal. 10/10 game design right there.

@@Iron_Cutlass the add on should halve his knives but let them deal double damage without accuracy. Very similar to Huntress, but not completely broken or abusable. Hell, reduce the knives to 25 or even 20 if you buff the damage further.
@@mrreemann8313 I guess that makes sense, honestly havent touched DBD in years and was looking to get back into it. But I guess that makes sense to some regard (after actually learning about the addon Huntress has).
Now they DO take 4 of Huntress' hatchets, but it's still way easier to land one hatchet than to never miss a throwing knife ever, all game.
Watching this live was one thing, but replaying in slow motion how otzes expressions change between each knife throw really shows how stressful the build is.

That addon makes you just throw the knives so slowly and carefully in order to get maximum usage from it that it kinda goes against the fact that Trickster is meant to be able to throw knives super fast. At the rate at which you throw the knives you may as well play another killer with a ranged attack if you aren't utilizing Tricksters speed.

Yeah, if I were to play trickster it would be to spam so many shit that the survs would have it impossible to dodge it. But in this case is basically playing Demo/Huntress/Deathslinger but worse
It does feel counterintuitive to play Trickster in the same way you would Huntress. I main Trickster and I genuinely cannot bring myself to single throw the blades because it feels so ineffective against how his power was meant to be used
This add on to Trickster is what Waterlogged Shoe is to Hag.
With Waterlogged Shoe, you’re basically a slower weaker Freddy.
With Death Throes Compilation, you’re a Huntress that needs 3-4 hatchets to do one health state of damage.
I mean, most pink addons are supposed to be gimmicky. But this just makes him worse huntress.
Otz definately showed how this addon has some value better than Ohtofu. Ngl seeing trickster played like this feels weird yet entertaining considering he's throwing knives like huntress' hatchets.
Ohtofu showed how it works if you play Trickster the same way you always play Trickster (which is very badly). Otz is showing what happens when you change the way you play to match the add-on (which is VERY slightly better).
To be fair, Ohtofu is not a great indicator.
Most of the time, he asks a question “but does it really bring me any value” when it, in fact, did (maybe not with this add-on, but generally).
Otz is better at experimental content.

I’ve played trickster on and off and I reccomend pairing this add on with an indoor map offering, I’ve had the best luck with Midwich. The long corridors and relatively open loops make it easy to hit knives and trapping someone in a dead end room is a death sentence with main event.
hiting your shots with this add on when they are 2 people stuck in a corner gives the same feeling as reverse chainsaw into a Quintin hiding In a corner

I think a good change to this addon would be to make it so that it resets when you reload and when laceration starts decreasing
as much as i hate to play as/against trickster i do love the concept of this addon. its extremely hard to use and punishing when you make mistakes, but is also super powerful when used well.

@@Greycobalt I never said he wasn't. I was only saying that the claim that this add-on is "basically a speed limiter" just isn't true. This add-on _can_ help you. "Speed limiter add-ons" cannot help you in any way, no matter what you do.
Just make it each consecutive hit increases damage and then every miss decreases the damage by the same interval. Easy fix without a rework, thanks BHVR.
I feel this addon can be really good but is such a high risk. I personally love it but don’t use it enough to have a full idea of the addons highest potential

The add-on should make it so that a miss just sets you back one damage level, or maybe missing two knives resets you.
I stand behind the design choice that pink addons should change how you play the killer, but I think both ultra rares of Trickster should get a full rework in my eyes

Main Event becomes Heart Piercer:
Throw one knife with incredible speed and no recoil, that instantly takes one healthstate and can pierce through survivors
The other ultra rare:
Remove the Exposed conditions

Each thrown knife is actually 3 knives in a fan (you get 30 throws default, not 10), not a wide spread but just a little, more of a shotgun style. Additional hits with the same throw only count as 50% (for up to 200% if you hit all 3)
+ recoil
- accuracy
- - throwing rate
Main Event becomes Death Flourish:
Throw 3 fans of 5 knives that can bounce off the environment two times, disappearing on 3rd collision, splitting into two after first and again after second bounce. Trick blades can increase the number of bounces but does not change number of splits. Hits by split knives count as 50%

I was there for when you first started this and were just full tilted most of the games, missing just one simple kunai toss randomly it was fun lol. I could honestly relate to the frustration so hard. I've yet to really play yet but I feel like if I ran this build I would be generally reckless with knives, but try to lock onto survivors kind of like the first bill chase. Instead of trying to hold the streak the entire length of the game, I would just constantly reset if needed just to ensure downs. Might be a little extra sweaty but just how I think I would try to play this build in the long run, The DMG ramps up really fast, you dont have to hit many kunai's so you can really take advantage of that by just only using kunai throws in pallet drops/open areas
I also feel when trickster gets more spotlight this might just be one of his more popular addons once people figure out how to play it better.

Thanks for trying with the Trickster. He is my favorite killer in terms of style, but so difficult to play and master. And im not that good at killer yet.
I like how Murderous Melodies is mandatory no matter what addons you use. Weak killer that suffers from Ghost face syndrome of being forced to use a green addon to make up for their weakness that should be obvious baseline.
I think a good buff for thrilling would be when the blocked gens gets unblocked they start regressing that would make this perk more reliable

I have such a hard time using this killer i just stopped playing him. Hes so slow and i feel extra hard to aim with on console. I dont even want to play him enough to get good with him cause im just trapped at red ranks getting destroyed by good survivors.
He really shouldn't be 110% of forced to constantly throw in main event, but his ability to shut down vaults and pallet drops is almost as good as huntress. He can tear through two health states faster then they can get away if you push them in the right area.
i dont think theyll ever make a better ranged killer than the huntress. if youre accurate her ability to down from far away is unmatched by the deathslinger and trickster
Yeah with Huntress and Deathslinger they just need to be in line-of-sight for a split second with a good read. With Trickster, there is nothing you can do at high loops, except for get half of a health state max when they are locked in an animation.

I like the idea of the add-on, it makes trickster go from hehe gotta throw fast to precised throws, i think it should remove the whole distance aspect since i mean cmon, some "far" shots barely give damage. I suggest its more of a "Save the Best for Last" ordeal: Start off with .25 damage and each hit boosts it up to a max of 2 damage. Each miss looses .5 laceration. It encourages precise throws but doesn't deduct so much for missing cuz cmon, you're gonna miss, give some leniency
Straight up, I love this addon. But I'm already hella biased because I actually think the trickster is kinda rad.
But, this addon paired with the USB addon. Is straight up rancid, if you play him a lot and get his throws down you cant get to 1 hit before the stacks pop and then it will only require you to hit 3 knives before you down them. This leads to some pretty nasty downs and if you keep it up it carry on to the next surv you find. It requires some finessing but after sinking tonnes of hours into this dude its by far my fav.
If you want fast downs as Trickster I’d suggest you try the to very rare addons Cut Through U and the Trick Blades and play on an indoor map and you can do some ridiculously fast damage, The Game is the one i use it on commonly
I don't know man when i use this addon and play normally it seems like i need less knives to take a health state from survivors even if i miss in between, specially when i hit 2 in a row from medium distance(5-10m).

how to fix: make a miss decrease the buff for the same amount of the increase of hits but maybe make it less for the maximum damage? idk its a pink so maybe the nerf isnt even considered.
Watching this add on get used as carefully as possible was pretty entertaining! Every time it got value felt super satisfying

I really, really like what they were going for with this addon. It completely turns the fundamentals of Trickster's power on its head. Instead of being designed to mindlessly spam it until the Survivor goes down, it rewards you for hitting your shots and it punishes you for missing them. However, it does not get rid of Trickster's machine-gunny nature, and that significantly reduces its value since the random spread and recklessness of full-auto mode makes missing a single knife much, much more likely. I mean, hell, in most of the scenarios where Otz got "value" out of the addon, it would have been faster to just go basekit and flurry the knives without getting punished for missing them instead of carefully taking time to place each one.
Personally, I think that this addon would be much better if one of the following changes were made:
1. Missing a knife does not instantly reset Laceration value, instead only reducing it down to the previous tier. i.e. If you hit three knives in a row and miss one, the next knife will do damage as if you'd hit only two knives in a row.
or
2. There is a buffer zone of missed knives before the reset. For the first knife or two that you miss, your Laceration value will be unaffected, and it is only after missing three knives in a row that the Laceration resets.
Exactly. It seems that accurate trickster plastyle was intended (just like you do a spree of bullets in CoD instead of pressing fire button, as you don’t lose accuracy), but slept on.
I think the issue was more on Otz focusing too much on the snipes instead of just adapting depending on the situation. Ofcourse he wanted to display what the add-on actually does, however I still think that he did not play optimal during some situations because he was focusing on keeping up the stacks too much.
A very decisive thing about both of Trickster's UR add-ons is that both support you in scenarios where basekit Trickster just takes much too long to secure any downs. For example on Shack or TL-walls, tiles that just give you very short frames to land knifes. If the Feng wouldn't have played around Shack as well as she did, Otz would've received massive value as Shack itself is probably one of the most annoying tiles Trickster has to deal with.
But the DT-Comp itself is already very hard to play with for rather obvious reasons. This in addition with Trickster being also a very hard Killer to play properly by default...I can't blame Otz for not getting the absolute value out of it.
@@Diablosoul98 Oh yeah, I'm gonna be honest, I think Otz played very poorly here. He lost that match purely because of his insistence on using DT comp even when he would have been better off just M1'ing, while also being too hesitant to throw knives rapidly due to fear of losing those stacks. DT comp is very difficult to use, but it has HUGE potential-it's my favorite addon to use, ever, for that very reason. Otz did a poor job of showing its potential here, and I blame him for it, not the addon. I already view Trickster power-wise as a Huntress who has to hit you multiple times, but in this video, Otz was REALLY playing him as a Huntress who has to hit you multiple times.

I get what you mean. However, what he did was pretty good as well, for the most part. Seeing each blade deal full possible damage was pretty enjoyable and felt powerful. It might not be “optimal”, but most Ultra rares are all about the alternative playstyles and fun, rather than actual power.
Even with Spirits mother/darter ring - sure, it gives cool chase potential. However, let’s be honest, totem-based builds where the ring is used for map mobility (rather than chase) is refreshing.
That fact that this whole time I thought I was hearing his Terror Radius but it was in fact his melody (AKA Lullaby) has pissed me off even more for making him even weaker than I thought he already is

I main Trickster and using the USB add on with either pink add on is best thing to do. The USB add on is your strongest add on to use. It's like your best friend. It's gonna be even better with his buff he's getting.

Best add ons for him in my opinion are extension of time it takes for decay to start, and instant down at full knife bar. Or instead of extension the add on for one less knife to full bar

They really can change this addon so that build up is longer (like 5 rnifes 50%, 10 knifes 100%, 15 knifes 150%, and other 30 is 200%) but its stays until you reaload. It would make ammo addon's more useable and didn't took that never miss effect

Buffing Trickster is very difficult. He's another killer that's great at chases and terrible at pressure. The only way to win with him is to get downs insanely quickly to make up for his low speed and lack of mobility. And since he's already good at winning chases, you can't buff him without him becoming unfun to face. A quality he already has if _you're_ the one being chased.

All killers need some kind of secondary power that does generator-regression.
@@kingol4801 ive personally wanted his main event to lower his knife count to 10, no matter the current number, and make it so they can be like a huntress hatchet. they do normal damage but you're limited to how many you have now. and you can't open lockers to refill your ammo, once you lose the knives, main event is over. it's a very risky power and honestly not that good, but i just think think fit the character more. like he's trying to impress a crowd by limiting his power and showing off with only 10 knives.
I always debate whether or not I want to run this add on, but now I think I will!

I think this would be a bit better (but still hard to use to be sure) if paired with one of his reworked Iridescents that makes survivors exposed if they're at full Laceration but don't get damaged by it.
This add-on prevents the good old "Random bullshit GO"

I wanna see the piercing knives with the ones that blow up, then you throw it at their feet and it's double damage. Goes through their leg/feet and it blows up
the move at 1:05 is insane, you dodged the pallet, and slaughtered it afterwards from behind.
Iri add ons like this are really cool, not broken, but very fun in the right hands

Not really comparable, this addon fucks you over more than it helps you, iri blight tag has zero downside.
Blight is like deathslinger coin rewards u for playing well, but without punishment for mistakes.
@@user-pi1ut2yj7p Tag forces Blight to play ineffectively (do more bounces instead of hitting right away) to get that one-shot. You go out of your way to get value (doing excessive things, potentially screwing yourself over), and play him in a weird manner.

I think a perfect way they could make the iridescent addon better is having it ramp up and ramp down. So it starts at .5 damage per knife then goes up to .75, 1, 1.25, etc, and instead of dropping down to .5 after a miss it should ramp down to the tier under it.
Just make 800% damage boost flat (every knife = regular attack).
We get a more accurate huntress with a machine gun. Perfect killer.

The end game with his main event, was the best part of the video.
Wonder how it would feel if they removed the distance mechanic from the add-on, made 50% your base, and gave it the new effect of bonus movement speed while moving towards a target for X seconds after your knives injure them.
You wouldn't get any extra speed while running around loops, only while directly moving towards the target in a straight line.
Add-on that needs you to aim for two years on spam machine.
And in the game with weird hitboxes.
(one dude let me open like half of a gate while he was closing gap between us and finding the spot where titanium bushes won't stop his knives)

It just turns Trickster into Huntress. The whole point of Trickster is that while he takes 8 projectiles to injure, he has many times more available than Huntress does. This is a good iridescent imo because it changes his playstyle into a more Huntress-style precision killer rather than a projectile vomit killer.
Except you don’t stop after you throw a knife. No distance lost, ever.
Huntress, regardless whether she hits or misses, suffers that slowdown animation after the throw (as well as has to reload a lot more).
Missing stuff with Huntress is infuriating and very crippling. Missing stuff with Tricker, even with this add-on - no problem.
Imagine Death Throws Comp + Piercing Knives while camping a hook. Pretty much a two person slug even with BT
Knife spam at mid range is his strength, to make up for slow chase. This add on turns him into a short range killer, throwing sparingly, and taking extra time in slow chase to get close. It sucks out the fun of this killer. Blech!

also the thing with most people using this add on is they think you cant miss a single shot but that mentality is what makes it bad
its littereally meant to be used as a sniping tool or a up close burst fire
hell his basic kit is designed for that just people just spam him which causes their accuracy to mess up

This add-on should be based on stacks. 0 stacks = 50%. 1 Stack = 100%. 2 stacks = 150%. 3 stacks = 200% laceration. Whenever you miss you lose 1 stack. This would make it a lot more forgiving and a bit less frustrating. (It would also feel like an iridescent add-on)
