"Geoff is talented *and* funny?" have you *seen* Way Down, Folsom Prison Blues, White Christmas, Monster Mash, and/or Saddle Up? (rhetorical). It might be subtle sometimes, but he's low-key brilliant at incorporating comedic moments! 😂😁
Sweater from Bass Gang Blue Christmas last year. He let his humor shine through. Put a little twang. Then there are all the easter eggs. T-shirts to match the lyrics, some from past videos, Shirts on the rack are also from other videos and even his own merch. The little tree has been in two other videos. The text messages are hilarious. Then just like the end of Golden Hour, Kathy comes in and saves him. It's so fun that we have been getting to see more of Kathy.
He pretty much covered every "country" music trope in the texts, he also seems to have some sight facial cues to whether any given video will be humorous . Great reaction/analysis.
This video was hilarious. I hope you check out VoicePlay's Jingle Bell Rock, you will crack up laughing! Plus it's the debut of Eli's sweet son, Asher. Plus, two words....VoicePlay dancing 😂😂 Happy Holidays Peter
Loved the audio and visual aids with your description of panning! That really made the explanation stand out for me. Nicely done! Several reactors have commented on how "buff" Geoff looks in this video - apparently he's been working at the gym - how does he find the time to do that?! Only Geoff could use the word "transgressions" in a country music video and get away with it!
Sound of Silence and Jack's Lament each had only one Geoff in the video. It was the right choice in both of those cases, and also here, for obvious reasons.
The other times Geoff has been solo (on screen), I'm not sure you've reacted to/analyzed yet: Radio Head's "High and Dry," and "Sound of Silence." Since this song is about a man being alone, it make sense that Jeff, Geoph and Goff are off-screen, playing the voices in prime Geoff's head.
Great job on the reaction, love the subtle reference in the song, where he says ‘decorations of red, on a green Christmas tree’, he was folding a red t-shirt on the decorations of ted part, and folding a green t-shirt, when he went onto a green Christmas tree 👍👍👍👍
Geoff often does something to add his own flair to the songs. I can see why he would stretch the song a little but I suspect that the speaking part was added partly to poke fun at classic country where they always lose their truck, their dog, and their house. (She locked him out and took his keys). And often they include a cheating wife or girlfriend. I thing he may add to his twang but he comes by it naturally since he is originally from Virginia. It does show a little now and then in other songs, though mostly country songs. Also, someone pointed out on another reaction that Geoff and Kathy both have blue laundry baskets until they touch and look into each others eyes. Then the laundry baskets turn white. True love found.
I love what you said about not dropping one of his super-subterranean bass notes. I’m totally impressed he can do it, but save it for when a song needs that “extra” rather than doing it every time. Great reaction-and I love the shirt!
Great reaction and analysis on a somewhat shorter and less complicated piece from Geoff. You still found a lot to point out. We were lucky to get this video from him. I thought it was just going to be his All I Want short due to the Chicago concert and life things taking up a lot of his schedule. But, as usual, he and Kathy managed to pull this out for us, and it's fantastic. Fitting that you wore the same sweater from the Bass Gang's cover of Blue Christmas from last year. 😁 Also I like the idea of you and Geoff being BFFs going to the gym together. 🤣
Thanks! I KNEW that was the sweater you wore in The Bass Gang's “Blue Christmas” cover! As soon as the premiere began, I was like, “Hey, isn’t that the sweater Peter wore in The Bass Gang's ‘Blue Christmas’ cover?” As soon as you hinted it, I was so proud of myself, lol. And did you notice that Geoff released his cover one day before the one-year anniversary of The Bass Gang's cover? What a coincidence! Great reaction and analysis, as always!
If you and Geoff ever work out at the gym together, please sell tickets! I'll buy a bunch! And I'll bring some Gatorade! Also, I don't know the story of your sweater, but it's another epic choice! Makes me think of Geoff's version of White Christmas.
I think that this has to be my favorite Geoff release, it is just so amazing😍I LOVE what he did with the arrangement, he is just so creative it blows my mind. Thank you so much for the amazing R&A Peter, you are truly amazing❤ I'm so thankful that I found your channel and I cannot wait to see you continue to grow!!!❤❤
With that pause I noticed the slight Elvis lip curl LOL Very slight. Brilliant though. I love the country feel of this one, with some typical country cliches. So much fun. He plays the doofus so well, as in Way Down, his other fun Elvis song. And Elvis never took himelf too seriously either. so I think he'd have loved this. I think High and Dry is the one where he's totally alone.
It's funny you mentioned the "Hook, Push, and Pray" because I've always tried to figure out how to explain a personal experience. Generally, I'm a regular baritone with semi-consistent F2s in the mornings. The highest chest note I can consistently hit is B4. The E5 in Unchained Melody by the Righteous Brothers is not something I can do in any other method that exactly that😂 I think I hit right around D5 when I start the push and then finally cap out at E5 lol
That was cool what you did here 8:59 with the example of panning. The black and white onscreen thing you did gave me a cue that I was missing something so I put my earbuds in and re-watched. Very cool, sir. 👍🏼 Yes, I enjoyed learning more about this, geeking out on details even if I never use them in real life. Fun to know. Feel free to teach us more whenever you think of this kind of stuff.
Did a great job on the song. But to me, the Comedy bit made this Post AWESOME. It actually makes you feel sorry for the "girlfriend" that locked him out of the house. Makes you want to warn Cathy. LMAO!!! Great Post, Peter.
LOVED ❤ your reaction to bass gang all I want for Christmas is you. Casper is an arrangement genius and Marwan’s touches in the editing are so fun. 😃 I knew you’d love this Geoff cover and I’m so glad you took the time from your family to premier this song. Love your reactions and analysis. Especially the Bass Gang. I’m proud to be a Patreon supporter. 😊 Thanks also to your editor for putting up the pictures of the notes you’re talking about.
Thank you for another great reaction to Geoff. You can take the boy out of Virginia but you can't take the Virginia out of the man. Please do a reaction video to some of Geoff's newest solo cover shorts like All I want for Christmas Is You. Merry Christmas to you & yours ❤️
Cold Mountain is an opera now? Given the character you played, did you play a fiddle? If I didn't know anything about Geoff and I just saw him folding laundry like that, I'm assuming he's a psycho! 😂😂 Merry Bassmass, Peter ❤
Great analysis! Waiting on you to watch Voiceplay's cover of Whiskey in the Jar. If you haven't already seen it, I would love to see an analysis. Thanks!
Great analysis on everything! You included vocal techniques, production techniques and just a great reaction for the overall piece. Great job Sir Peter!
So when is the Bass Gang doing Im Tiefen Keller? It was my favourite bass song as a child. My dad had an Ivan Rebroff LP and we'd listen together. My second favourite bass piece was Handel's Messiah The Trumpet Shall Sound with Teddy Tahu Rhodes. 😘👌🏻

“Low-key” LOL
Geoff: Kathy, I need to put out a Christmas video.
Kathy: I know, Hon, but we need to do the laundry!
Geoff: Yeah, but...WAIT A MINUTE...

Geoff always looks (and actually is) very focused, so seeing how much fun he has in some videos is a pleasant surprise. I love that.
Loved the audio and visual aids with your description of panning! That really made the explanation stand out for me. Nicely done!

Thanks for getting this one in. Check the laundry baskets when Kathy and Geoff's fingers touch. Grey to white!
If you think of the baskets as a shade of blue (dusty blue?) it can represent his “Blue Christmas” changing to a “White Christmas” at that moment.
You're spot on about Geoff humor....the country western trope of truck, dog, girl and house is extra special with the steel guitar added.
Geoff's voice is so soothing, mellifluous (?), just plain gorgeous. Always love a Kathy walkon!!
Sound of Silence and Jack's Lament each had only one Geoff in the video. It was the right choice in both of those cases, and also here, for obvious reasons.

Another great and clever performance from Geoff and lovely to see Kathy as well.
Hearing Geoff's take on this Elvis Presley classic made me cry. If he can do that, he's done a fabulous job.
I love what you said about not dropping one of his super-subterranean bass notes. I’m totally impressed he can do it, but save it for when a song needs that “extra” rather than doing it every time. Great reaction-and I love the shirt!

It was worth waking up at 6am (on a day I didn't HAVE to be awake that early) just to watch this R&A. Love your analysis of Geoff 's techniques!
All three country music tropes: truck/dog/best friend…😂
Happy Christmas 🎄
Thanks!

Petition to have Geoff and Peter workout together (like if you agree)
Love the subtle nod to the boys' cover of Blue Christmas. Thanks for the reaction Peter!

Singing dude with deep, manly voice. Have a wonderful holiday season! :)

Thank you, this tremendously enhanced my Geoff experience!
Merry Christmas and happy holidays to you!! Always enjoy your reviews!! ❤
Loved this fun piece with Geoff. Thank you! 😍
Can we get Geoff and bass gang singing Christmas don’t be late with Geoff as Dave Seville????
Great analysis! Waiting on you to watch Voiceplay's cover of Whiskey in the Jar. If you haven't already seen it, I would love to see an analysis. Thanks!
Cool teaching segment on panning! Always appreciate your insights, Peter!
What an awsome analysis. Once again I learned from you. Your explanation and demonstration of Panning was cool.
Wonderful! I really enjoy your reactions and analyses to Geoff's videos a lot. Thank you
Great reaction and analysis (as always). Merry Christmas to you and yours from Brisbane Australia
Great analysis on everything! You included vocal techniques, production techniques and just a great reaction for the overall piece. Great job Sir Peter!
Many thanks!
Thanks 😊

Talented and funny. Thanks for sharing with us
Thanks for the r&a Peter! Fun and informative as always.. Merry Christmas💚
Love your reactions!
You wore this sweater in the cover of the same song a year ago hehe
Merry Christmas Peter, love all your work this year!
I Love The BaseMaster Or Geoff as I like to Call him. ❤ This channel
Great informative video again 😊
Shirt can be seen in the Bass Gang version 😁
Very subtle advertising for TBG Blue Christmas 💙🎄
Edit: beautifully executed panning example, Mason
Magic Mason? He edits for Peter Barber too?
He sure does!
I think "High and Dry" was one of the only other times he's sang only one "voice."
Hope you have someone special in your life so you won't have a blue Christmas. Happy Holidays and look forward to more reactions in the New Year!
So fun!
You should check out Voiceplay's cover of Whiskey in the Jar, for some Geoff craziness
Yay!
Shirt is from Bass Gang Cover, great reaction ❤
Fantastic reaction! 💙🩵✨
Great evaluation. Enjoyed the technique review.
The phrase for basses might be ; hook, anker and pull 💪😁
I love that
Great video as always! Im still waiting on Voiceplays whiskey in the jar with geoffs F in chest :P
great and different cover of a sad song ❤
Thanks for this one. BTW, do you have any chance we can hear that Cold Mountain opera with you? 💕🌲
Please react to Voiceplay Tennessee Whiskey. The riffs are fun
The ref flag blue Christmas. 😂
Bass gang ❤
Would you do an analysis and reaction to Demolisher by Slaughter to Prevail?
The real ones can guess the sweater. 😂 No clue. Help me real ones!!!!
