I just took my road test a few hours ago, and I passed. As long as you treat the roads as if they're all marked up you should do just fine, and getting past your nerves. I was extremely nervous when the examiner got into the car and started asking questions, once we started going it felt second nature, just someone telling me which way to turn etc. Confidence and common sense are key, good luck to those taking it in the future!
I am looking at bringing my son here. We took it in Mankato and it was horrible...no need to go into details just the fact that we live in corn country and it is not a closed course in Mankato so it did not go well. Has the test changed much from this video at all?
I just failed my test today. Less than an hour ago. Failed because I hit the back pole when exiting the parallel park. I feel beyond stupid. It’s my third time taking the test. Hope to pass next time 😓😢😢
Sandra Reyes i failed twice because i did the wrong turn. i’m waiting until i am READY because if you fail the 4th, you have to wait two months, retake the class again.
The fact she told her what she needed to improve on and still passed her that’s respect and sometimes it’s not easy and congrats to her passing I hope mine is like that too coming up :)
Hello everyone. Today I failed my road test at Eagan, and I'm here to tell you what happened-- so it won't happen to any of you guys. So, at 1:26 , she turns from the far left lane into the closest left lane. That is incorrect. What she should have done was turned into the far right lane. Where I failed was right there, so, I turned from the far left lane, into the far right lane. The instructor will then ask you to turn left. If you did it correctly, you should have turned into the far right lane (like she did NOT do at 1:29) and then the instructor will tell you take a left turn. What you should do, from the right lane, is signal and make sure to look over your shoulder and go into the left lane. You are going from a one-way to a two-way. Where I failed was I was in the far right lane, and I did not go into the closest left hand turn lane, and I turned left from a straight lane. She did it correctly in the video because she turned into the wrong lane from the start, so she didn't have to worry about switching lanes here. I hope this helped you guys, in any way, shape, or form, and I wish you luck on your test!
@@muskrat3679 I strongly strongly recommend making an appointment. I showed up to the DMV in Plymouth once, and they said they were only accepting people who were making appointments.
I am taking my test tomorrow and the thing I learned about parallel parking (with my normal sized car at least) is its all about finding things that line up with the mirrors. First pull up about 2 feet from a car and line up with it. Then find something that lines up with the drivers side mirror. Start cranking into the spot and when that object is facing the center of your bumper, turn the wheel straight and back up until your passenger side mirror lines up with their tail lights or the space below the lights if it’s a truck. Once they line up start cranking the other direction and you’ll flawlessly glide into the spot.
Silver Tune You have to like up the first cone or whatever is most left with like an inch left of the small windows in the back and then full right and SLOWLY go in and you can always fix it
Guys I passed my first test couple days ago it wasn’t that hard as I believed going in as long you follow rule of the road and park correctly not perfectly you will pass. I know that feeling you will do fine.
Just took my test here and here’s some advice! Be nice to your instructors, greet them and ask how they’re doing. That will better their moods, be respectful! “Yes sir, yes mam” Be super attentive to the roads, there are some one ways and two way roads. Keep your eyes peeled and pay attention to signs, and anything else. CHECK YOUR BLINDSPOTS!! Over exaggerate them! When your about to turn s.m.o.g! But always check! Even if it seems unnecessary! They let you correct yourself if you mess up the parking. I did terrible on my 90 backing and my parallel but they let you correct yourself as many times as needed! JUST DONT HIT THE CONES! Otherwise it is a pretty short test!
This video helped me pass. I watched this many times and found key points to remember that would either make or wont make you pass, like the one way, stop signs, turning. etc. I failed during my first try and for those taking the exam, it is important to remember in making a turn from two-way to one way street (1:26) to take the left most lane of the one way street. Be cautious with the traffic lights and signs. Drive slowly (i did 20-25 mi) so when they ask you to turn to whichever direction (esp in one-way streets) you have room to change lanes esp when they ask you to turn right when you are at the left most part of the lane. Also, it would help if you have a considerate instructor coz some of the instructors here are very strict.
I finally passed my driving test today !! the best thing ever is when the instructor says congratulations you passed 😃😃 !!! thank you very much for your video helped me a lot !!
I just failed today, this is a really good place to take the road test. Remember to look both sides and don’t turn on red. The hardest part was the parallel park
this is super helpful to me cause i get really stressed out over driving w someone who i barely know. just remembering what the instructor said at the end is helpful as well. thank you so much for this video!!
I passed the test here on March 16th. This was my second attempt so the testing lady (might be the same from the video) told me what I didn't do right the last time, so make sure to be obvious about fixing that. For example, apparently I wasn't very cautious when changing lanes the first time, so at the part at 1:12 where you have to cut across the entire road, I went about 10 mph changing one lane at a time while looking over my shoulder. Also you should use your turn signal at every chance you get, even when you come to the corner like 1:38. When you shift into drive after you park you should use your turn signal and look over your shoulder for anyone coming (7:03). If you have a backup camera it helps (ask the tester about it beforehand), mine let me use it (but only as a "tool" and not looking at it the entire time), so I tried to make it look like I was using my mirrors too. Driving slow really helps for your reaction to the tester's instructions. P.S. If you were curious why I didn't pass the first time it was because I hit a cone on the 90 degree back in because I barley practiced it.
Queen T what did you have trouble on? I’ll try my best to help!! But in general, my biggest piece of advice is to just take it slow and keep a positive mindset. I took all of my turns slowly and I don’t think i ever went above 20 MPH. I found it pretty helpful to talk/whisper to myself as I was taking the test too, especially during parking. That definitely helped calm me down since I was a nervous wreck about the 90 degree back.
I have my test today, it's gonna be my third try and I'm absolutely terrified. I feel comfortable with driving, I don't feel comfortable with people I don't know.
@@AneishaH its pretty easy, you gotta really focus on what lane you turn into cause theres alot of 2 way to one way to 2 way. And theres alot of people on the course at the same time for you so it is kinda like driving on a normal street.
My test is this Thursday, June 2nd. I am somewhat nervous but also confident! Thanks for the upload I feel more easy. Hopefully I have this instructor!
I passed my road test at Eagan today on my first try. It was super easy. Just make sure you use your signals, check your mirrors and blind spot, and turn in the correct lines.
Omg taking my second drive test today, even if you do everything fine, they won’t pass you if you don’t check your blind spots! “Check you Blind spots!”
I highly suggest practicing in downtown Saint-Paul or Minneapolis. It’s scary because of all the people walking wherever they want, but it genuinely helps teach you about one ways, turning into the correct lanes, and dealing with construction/busy roads. I take my test at Eagan this Friday!! Wish me luck!
This video really helped! I passed my driving test yesterday literally within 5 minutes. They have two roads that are one ways. Also, the course is is smaller than expected so you will be done in no time.
I just passed this test on my first attempt. It was much easier than the Illinois road test which I failed twice. This video helped me so much. The course is also smaller than you think and my instructor was really nice. You can do it guys!
Watch this video and videos about how to parrallel park. Don’t forget to signal before and after you parrallel park and before and after you do the 90 degree park. Don’t drive too fast and make sure to look when changing lanes. Stop before you make a right turn even if it doesn’t say “no turn on red.” There’s a double left turn lane, make sure you turn into the correct lane. They’ll deduct points for small mistakes, but you can still pass.
My road test will be coming up soon. Third attempt. I failed my first road test in 2017, in Hastings and second road test in September 2019, in Wabasha. The second time I would have gotten my license if I didn’t drive the wrong side of a two way street. It was a side street and it was unmarked. I wasn’t familiar with Wabasha. My next test will be in Rochester. I feel confident.
I just passed my test today at this location. Honestly, I thought I was going to fail again. This was my 4th try. Last time I tried I was so close to pass and was pretty much done with the exam until I had to parallel park and hit the pole. Other than that I did fine but I still failed. So today, I had so much trouble parking (both the 90 degree backing and the parallel) BUT, I tried so hard and my examiner was so nice and patient that he passed me. I parked good but it just took me forever. I thought I was going to fail but this is what he told me. He said I did okay, even though I struggled with the parking but the important thing is not to hit any of the poles. He said parking is not that important. You can go back and forth as many times as you need as long as you don’t hit the poles. So, guys... practice your parking as much as possible. I practiced in my parking space at home, I set up trash cans because I didn’t want my sight to be down with the cones. Follow the rules, pay attention to the signs, take your time!!! Don’t rush to park. Always take your time. I drove 20 miles per hour .. you can go 25 if you want. Feel confident and practice!!! Try not to be nervous, I know it’s hard. It also depends a lot on who your examiner is. Many of them can be intimidating.
B marie Hi lady!! Good luck on your road test. I believe you must be able to park because it is required. I was able to park both the 90 degree and parallel but it took me a while. Just try your best, and be careful. Some examiners don’t have the patience, sometimes they love to make people nervous. But, as long as you try to park and don’t hit the poles you will do fine. At least that’s what my examiner told me! Hope to hear from you on the date of your test!! 🙏🏼
Sandra Reyes thank you 😊 🙏🏾 I’m so scared I tried Arden hills and it took me a minute and I passed the parallel but I couldn’t do 90 degree he stated the parking would not cause me to fail but I’m scared based off of some examiners. We’re the examiners nicer at Eagen
B marie I totally feel you girl! Look, practice as much as you can. Everyday if possible. Go on unmarked roads, control your fear. Eagan road test is very easy but in my case my nerves always betrayed me. All my 3 fails were automatic. First time I ran a damn red light. My examiner said my parking was outstanding!! at that time I also had a trainee on the back seat. So, two people observing me!!! ((Great huh?)) Second fail I hit a pole when doing the 90 degree backing and my 3rd fail I hit a pole when I was exiting the parallel park. Yeah, I felt really stupid every single time I failed, but it also served me for experience. I read after your fourth fail they send you to a driving school. I was so scared!! So, be careful and again... practice every day!! I learned that it doesn’t matter too much how the examiners treat you, just do what you have to do!! Relax, breath and most importantly... TAKE YOUR TIME on the road test!!!! Look for signs ... so you don’t run a red light like I did... 🙏🏼😘
Wish me luck guys, taking mine after failing 3 times in the past. Took this Eagan course as my first fail, so I'm studying back to back. I think I got this, but at the same time I hope this isn't the lady that tests me. Fingers crossed!!!
Gosh i am so nervous i have my road test in two days in Rochester, MN. I have been doing research extra things to make sure i don't fail again(this will be my third test) i didn't have enough time to practice parallel and 90 degree parking, but this time i practiced every single day for the past two weeks instead of practicing for an hour for two or three days.
@@ohpain6061 Pretty similar....... the road tracks are same in all; Arden Hills, Plymouth and Eagan....... Just watch this video couple of times and you will have an idea of the track.......
That person should not have passed. The roads are that much more dangerous now. She made that first left and cut across lanes while in the process of it. She drives way too slow and doesnt have road sense. It's horrible to say but if she passed the examiner needs to be fired.
No wonder so many Minnesota drivers cross lanes while turning. It's a moving violation, citable offense, and likely to cause an accident; and this instructor never even mentioned it.
The Chris Lapakko - The King of Earned Media This road test is bullshit. Cuz if I knew it would be this easy I could've taken it on my 3rd day behind the wheel. I've been taking buses and Ubers for a year and practicing by myself illegally at all hours of the day and night cuz nobody would go with me and I thought the test actually required skill. Wtf I could pass this test with my eyes shut and one arm behind my back. My god this is why people are idiots on the highway cuz she didn't even require you to know how to merge. And what was that maneuver across solid white lines at an intersection? That was so illegal.
Good M you don’t need skill on the highway cause all you’re doing is driving along the road and occasionally switching lanes this test is harder than highway driving
@@TCLExperiment the first left turn she made she was in the middle lane and cut across the lanes as she turned into the left most lane. This is dangerous because people dont see their blind spot especially when turning like that. She should have failed. The test is way too forgiving and the examiner is horrible.
@@aarons6644 WTF. You do need skills on the highway. She apparently failed to signal multiples of times. She even crossed a walk when stopping at a sign. Etc. I guarantee if this was on an actual road with cars she will fail. This exam was too easy as she was driving probably 10 mph.
At 1:07 remember to stop completely!!. I just failed today because of that. There are no stop signs or yield signs but if you don't stop they will fail you because the instructor will intervene. Good luck everyone.
But that is a uncontrolled intersection, if there is no cars you don’t need to stop just yeld, but if there is a car you should stop and give the way always for your right.
Just an advice. If you you bring a bigger car. You'd have to go out alittle more so you can turn into the parking spot, otherwise being close to the cones will cause you to hit the cones. Smaller cars are abit better for those sharper turns in parallel parking. I failed miserably on parallel park but still passed on my first try lol. Goodluck to anyone who's doing theres soon!
@@AneishaH I passed!! I was SUPER nervous so my parallel parking was pretty bad (accidentally hit the curb and had to try and correct myself) but other than that it was pretty easy, and parking doesn't really matter anyways as long as you don't hit a cone
Question about parking: when you are downhill parking, parallel parking, and 90 degree back in parking, do you signal for all three of those? If so, are you using your hazard signals to park or regular turning signals
So at the 1:30 mark, didn't she turn left into the incorrect lane? If there are two left turn lanes, and you are in the one on the right, then when you make your left turn, and there are two lanes you could turn into, aren't you supposed to turn into the lane on the right?
My friend just failed the test because she turned into the RIGHT lane at this point, although she was in the left turn lane that was further to the right. The manual SAYS to turn into the right lane in this instance (p. 25), yet the instructor said she was supposed to turn into the left lane and flunked her.
You (and the manual) are correct. If you turned from the right left-turn lane to the inside lane (like my daughter did), you would crash into people turning left from the right left turn lane. Maybe the thing to do is to discuss the situation with the instructor before the test, and refer to the manual if the instructor is wrong...
Yeah. That's what I suggested to my friend for next time. Also, I suggested she just get over into the left-hand left turn lane, so there will be no question about which lane to turn into.
i failed at arden hills yesterday so i scheduled one at eagan (they look almost identical) only thing that’s a little iffy is my parallel but i’ve also been practicing all morning. i failed because i used my mirrors too much and never looked over my shoulder when switching lanes
A Person it’s test day for me! (again lmfao) i’m nervous like always (i struggle with generalized anxiety + depression. not a good mix) last time i beat myself up pretty bad for failing, like i see all these SHITTY drivers on the road and i’m just like “and i fucking failed??”
A Person also last time the examiner said i didn’t signal when first pulling out (but i did) and when i told her she literally snapped at me, got out, and slammed the door. like i’m in a 2016, i don’t have to crank my wheel all the way, the turn signals are more quiet, and i have cameras. i guess she just didn’t like me?? idk i was really respectful, i’m always really respectful to everyone. the car has purple rims, is that why? she thinks i race all the time?
I passed first time in St. Cloud. I’m surprised the lady passed me because there was sooo much traffic and I almost didn’t make the merdge cuz of all the cluster
Ok so at 1:21 what do I do when she tells me to turn when I’m about to get to the end of the road like that? Do I slowdown and then change lanes one by one? Or do I just cross them all?
Slowing down is always good. Just make sure to signal and look over your shoulder. You don't need to get way over to the left, but if you turn from the right left turn lane make sure to turn into the far right lane. Not the inside one like she did.
I took my behind the wheel in California and we just have to drive around in the area around the DMV including residential streets. We don't even have to parallel park, just signal and park along a long curb and then reverse the car while looking back until the examiner says you can signal to get out.
Is it possible to turn to the left before hand, such as when she turned left just before the moment at 1:30, even though the instructor didn't say to do so?
Guys if you have practiced your 90 and parallel all the other things are soooooo easy, you literally just drive around and there is no stops or lights. There is only 1 stop and 1 light. Other than that, Eagan is the easiest spot to take your driver road test. I passed mine today!

Good job I have my road test in Detroit lakes on the 19th I’m nervous but then again I’m not!! I hope I pass so wish me luck thank you 🙏
Very helpful, just passed road test at Eagan.
This video is super helpful. Please do mention that to carry a dash cam for future applicants. Or else look for different locations.
I want to get my license this summer . I need to practice my parallel and reserve parking otherwise it looks promising . Good luck you’ll
I just passed this test on my first attempt. It was much easier than the Illinois road test which I failed twice. This video helped me so much. The course is also smaller than you think and my instructor was really nice. You can do it guys!
hey could you give me some tips I have mines in 2 weeks?
Watch this video and videos about how to parrallel park. Don’t forget to signal before and after you parrallel park and before and after you do the 90 degree park. Don’t drive too fast and make sure to look when changing lanes. Stop before you make a right turn even if it doesn’t say “no turn on red.” There’s a double left turn lane, make sure you turn into the correct lane. They’ll deduct points for small mistakes, but you can still pass.
Taking mine in the AM having anxiety up the ass but I drive a hell of a lot better then she does so now I'm not as worried. YAY
Sophia Rose How did you do?
I passed!... I shouldn't have I hit a pole 90 degree backing up lol
Sandra Reyes I’m taking mines in November 1st. I heard if you couldn’t do the parking well or at all they couldn’t fail you.
Sandra Reyes at 3:02 you know how she goes up the intersection hill and it’s unmarked I’m scared of that
B marie I totally feel you girl!
I’m taking my drivers test tomorrow! Wish me luck guys.
Wish me luck guys, taking mine after failing 3 times in the past. Took this Eagan course as my first fail, so I'm studying back to back. I think I got this, but at the same time I hope this isn't the lady that tests me. Fingers crossed!!!
Thank to your video I passed my road test today🙂
I have my test this morning I’m so nervous 😩 right now but I guess everything will be fine
DJintheHousE Ellis Good luck! Let us know if/when you pass.
I’m taking my test in Rochester tomorrow. I’m super nervous
I live in Rochester but I couldn't get one here so I have to go to Eagan tommorow to take it for my second time. I failed the first.
HockeyPlayer did u pass 2nd time

Thanks, I passed today, this video helped me a lot
How similar was the test to this video??
@@ohpain6061 Pretty similar....... the road tracks are same in all; Arden Hills, Plymouth and Eagan....... Just watch this video couple of times and you will have an idea of the track.......
This is helpful. Does anyone know if every test takes the same exact path through the coarse?
how big are the dimensions for parallel parking and 90 degree back in at eagan?
Did they allow you to take a video of it? I'm just curious
that lady is a horrible driving instructor
Sara Sentner The girl taking the test was lucky she was so bad, or else she would have failed lol.
That person should not have passed. The roads are that much more dangerous now. She made that first left and cut across lanes while in the process of it. She drives way too slow and doesnt have road sense. It's horrible to say but if she passed the examiner needs to be fired.
@@jlee9360 the speed limit is 20 at the tesy
Man I really wished I had her
@@jlee9360
The examiner said left way too late, she couldn't have turned earlier
90 degree back turn not in a parking lot??? omg, I have been practicing by using the parking spaces to gauge my distance before I turn and reverse!
No wonder so many Minnesota drivers cross lanes while turning. It's a moving violation, citable offense, and likely to cause an accident; and this instructor never even mentioned it.
At 2:15 I have a question is that an intersection? And if yes do u need to stop bc I saw she didn’t ? Some help me out
I take my test today wish me luck!!!
Who is this person? I want them to examine me
Oso Crazy same bro
Me too lol
I'm sorry but I'm really surprised that she passed this test.
Why? It was fine.
The Chris Lapakko - The King of Earned Media
This road test is bullshit.
Am super excited ... l got mine this week on Wensday 😘😘 after failing 4 times ... am a new driver on the street . God is great
was the no turn on red sign at 2:38 for the cross-traffic? or for her?
Got my test tomorrow, wish me luck
Good luck!
I passed yesterday! Definitely recommend this one over Plymouth!
At 1:07 remember to stop completely!!. I just failed today because of that. There are no stop signs or yield signs but if you don't stop they will fail you because the instructor will intervene. Good luck everyone.
But that is a uncontrolled intersection, if there is no cars you don’t need to stop just yeld, but if there is a car you should stop and give the way always for your right.
that’s how i failed bruh this girl was sitting parked in the middle of it and my instructor told me to stop when i was already braking
How far part would you say the cones are On the parallel parking?
This
@@ohpain6061 I'd say like 10ft or more. Just alittle longer than a regular car.
I take my test today - super scared, wish me luck!!!!
I wish the driving test was like this where I live.
Taking my drivers test in Fergus Falls in a few weeks. Anything I should look out for?
Carry a dash cam
My test is tomorrow boyz 🤪🤙 nervous about the parking but everything else is pretty much common sense
@@AneishaH I passed!! I was SUPER nervous so my parallel parking was pretty bad (accidentally hit the curb and had to try and correct myself) but other than that it was pretty easy, and parking doesn't really matter anyways as long as you don't hit a cone
Test Monday wish me luck 😭😭‼️
Why did she stop at the green light at 7:35?
thank you!
Question about parking: when you are downhill parking, parallel parking, and 90 degree back in parking, do you signal for all three of those? If so, are you using your hazard signals to park or regular turning signals
Ask the tester. They are happy to answer questions before the test starts.
Yes yes yes you signal going into and out of those, my friend told me that and she took her test at Eagan
@@samantha7576 I have a questionnn.
@@kimmicoladaa what’s up
How wide do you practice for parallel parking?
bruh how did she pass? But when I missed a turn due to another tester being in the way, I fail lmao.
Passed first try only because of Chris shoutout to you I thought I was gonna for sure fail but I got there at 12am without a appointment 😭😭
Young Rock 12 am?!!
12am? Or 12pm?
So at the 1:30 mark, didn't she turn left into the incorrect lane? If there are two left turn lanes, and you are in the one on the right, then when you make your left turn, and there are two lanes you could turn into, aren't you supposed to turn into the lane on the right?
John Doe I watched that again and agree she turned into the wrong lane.I think she should have failed. don't do that!
I was confused for a second because I thought you were talking about the left turn from the 2-way into the other 2-way, not the 1-way to 2-way.
Taking my test tomorrow at the Marshall station, should be similar to this but on actual roads. Hope I pass.

Dude that looked so easy. My test is tomorrow and I have to drive in town with like 200 other cars
watching this gave me more anxiety then i had before.... i need tips on parking it scares me the most :/
mine is thursday but at different location so nervous on parking
i failed at arden hills yesterday so i scheduled one at eagan (they look almost identical) only thing that’s a little iffy is my parallel but i’ve also been practicing all morning. i failed because i used my mirrors too much and never looked over my shoulder when switching lanes
When's your next test? And for next time, remember S.M.O.G. (signal, mirror, over the shoulder, go)
A Person wednesday all the way in plymouth
Madi Lee if you ever need anything, I’ll be happy to help you. Good luck!!
He did a good job
I wanna meet this examiner on my road test 🤦🏼♀️

I passed first time in St. Cloud. I’m surprised the lady passed me because there was sooo much traffic and I almost didn’t make the merdge cuz of all the cluster
Taking my road test tomorrow.
did u pass bro
I got a question, what are the steps for downhill parking? I have my test in a week!!!!!
I paased the exam went smooth
The admittedly crude way it was taught to me when I was 16 is that it is like sex: down (hill) & (turn wheels) in (to curb); up & out
Okay and do the wheels have to touch curb?
@@pre-newgen7569 I don't think so but just ask the instructor before you start. She would be happy to answer your question.
Ok thank u so much
How many feet are the parallel park cones away from each other?
25x8 rectangle
You can switch lanes however you see fit. Just do it the right way👌
Guys if you have practiced your 90 and parallel all the other things are soooooo easy, you literally just drive around and there is no stops or lights. There is only 1 stop and 1 light. Other than that, Eagan is the easiest spot to take your driver road test. I passed mine today!
i have my test tomorrow at eagan!
At 8:15 what lane would i go in if she said turn left?the far left lane or ? Im really confused i have my test in a couple days....
Mona Coco the nearest one
