I passed here a couple days ago and the instructor took me on a very similar route. The most important things to note are the one-ways and two-ways. Make sure you’re turning into the correct lanes and pay attention to the signs. From there, you should be set! The instructors are very nice and the test is fairly short (approx. 10 min). Also, your parking doesn’t have to be perfect. As long as you don’t hit any cones and park inside of them, you’ll be just fine. Good luck!! :))
muchos thank yous
I really hope I get this women for my test next week! She’s so nice! She even gave him some hints like “are you done” she’s seems amazing.
How’d it go did u pass did u take the same route as in the video?
Krazy Stories my friend took his here yesterday, seems like they all do the same route !
grace :p badass
bro you have to tell us, how’d you do
I had her this morning! She's super nice, but I failed anyway :(
Edit: I tried again and now I've passed :)
I passed my test this morning and had the same lady... make sure to turn into the first lane on a one way !
You turn into the same lane. If there are two lanes that turn to the left and you are in the left one, you must be in the left one when you complete the turn, if you are in the right one, you must be in the right one when you complete the turn. I swear 50% of drivers do not know this.
@@paulh2981 ikr it’s annoying because they cut over lanes and you can’t get to the other lanes because they speed up 🤦🏼♂️
Passed my road test here today(Jun-05) on my first try, video helped a lot to familiarize the lanes and parking options. Make sure to practice Parallel Parking and 90-degree parking
Was your instructor nice ?
This gave me anxiety
Me too
did u pass?
@memememememme6869 Yessirrrrr 🫡
bro is asking three years later
Prep guide kinda👇
hopefully this eases peoples minds and helps them prepare by saying this, all you need for this test is to:
*
A: know how to parallel park
B: know how to do a 90 degree back in
C: know how to park down hill
D: know how to follow traffic lights/uncontrolled intersections and your instructors commands ex; turn right, turn left, switch lanes, stop.
E: know all of your cars buttons as well, ex; windshield wipers, defrost, seat adjustment etc. etc.
F: Check over your shoulder for blindspots (make it extra dramatic too lol)
G.) if you fuck up don’t try to hide it, your instructor probably already noticed. Just correct yourself, cuss yourself out a bit, and keep it pushing.
*
Remember to stay in those mirrors even if you have a back-up camera, they will deduct points if you don’t. One thing my dad always told me is that as long as you are staying glued to those mirrors you’ve pretty much completed 50% of the test
Also please make sure you’re using your turn signals (even when parking/pulling out of parking spot)
And when turning.. STAY IN THE SAME LANE.
This all might be obvious but when you’re there it’s easy to forget under pressure. Just breathe nice and cool and tell yourself you got this. As long as you’ve been practicing you shouldn’t have anything to worry about.
Watch for No turn on red sign automatically fail if you do but if the sign doesn't face you can make right at red light after you come to a complete stop it a must or you'll fail and if they fail for doing correctly take them to court
passed this test this morning! wanted to give an updated look! so when i got there i checked in at the window and they asked me to use my right turn signal, my left, and the brake lights. i then dropped off my parent and drove to the lane they told me to go into. waited a few minutes, woman came into the car. very nice lady!! she gave me directions and overall was very good. i actually rolled over the base of a pole when 90 degree backing and thought i failed!! the woman said i was okay and we kept driving. my parallel park was great and then i performed a downhill park. overall over exaggerate your head turns, make sure you are in the correct lane, and you should be good!!

I passed here like 30 minutes ago. I had a really nice dude as my instructor and he was really chill. Make sure you turn into the correct lanes and always look, look even if you don't have to and it seems totally unnecessary. Practice parking and you got this. This was a really easy test!
Thanks a lot. The road seems to be tricky with the turning into one way road and this video is helpful reminder!
Thank you so much for this video I recently passed my test yetserday and I was so happy!
I took my test on a Saturday and I passed! Make sure you practice parking! Good luck.
I watch this video many times my drive test I did perfectly , and I got my drive license thank u for post this video
I passed my test. This video was super helpful
Just passed yesterday on my first try, I wouldn't have been able to do it without this video.
Passed today! My instructor said I had gone too slow and could have failed me. Be careful of that because most people and places tell you to go nice and slow!
Just passed my test here, it was pretty simple for the most part, just follow the lanes, there will most times be two on your side of the road so stay in your lane. The parking should be the least of your worries imo, if you get the car in between the cones your good, they test you mainly on if you can maneuver the car in reverse properly. The layout is very simple, one way down the middle, mainly 4 lane streets on the outer portions, the unmarked streets are the hardest part. Overall, pretty simple and short test, with enough practice you will be able to pass first try without much complication.
for anyone reading this, i failed on my road test 1 week ago.
the topic of me being over 18 and having no drivers ed experience was brought up by my examiner before and after my exam and my examiner said, “if you have ever parked in a grocery store parking lot, you could’ve part here considering our parking spaces are bigger”.
i failed because i supposedly ran over the one stop sign they have & while i was readjusting for my 90, i took up too much time and so my examiner told me to move on, meaning i didn’t even do my 90 degree.
good luck to anyone taking it!
You got it next time. I hope you pass :)
I passed yesterday! Definitely recommend this one over Plymouth!
I feel very comfortable driving, I still have to work on parallel parking and backing in. Other than the nerves from that- I think I will pass. Hopefully 😁
this video helped so much! i passed my test today first try, the only new things since this video came out are the covid restrictions (you don’t need to check blinkers, etc,) and there are more cones in certain areas. i had a different examiner, but nice all the same. thanks for uploading this!
So they don’t make you do any of the buttons in the beginning?
@@joshhood7952 nope! once the instructor’s in the car you just start the course

Just passed mine on the third try just keep trying and you'll get in 👍
My drivers test is coming up this Wednesday and I’m so nervous!
Been watching this videos thousands times! And i passed today!! It was only less than 10 minutes. I didn’t do a good job for 90 degrees backing on first try. I tried second time and I made it, she didn’t fail me. Thank you!
@Azizah Quinlan Congratulation!!! Is the test exactly the same as on this video?did u manage to see the road marks?did they test u on highways??
@@seynab4377 thank you! Yups. I think I was lucky too. I got nice instructor. I could see the lane. Just keep watching this video and practice so you will be familiar with road there. I did test in DMV place, I didn’t do it on highway

I watched this video probably 50 times and I was able to pass today! Thank you for the video!
Can you give me some insight what it’s like ? And how long it will take ? Do they still ask for what all the gears are like windshield wipers etc. and do you still do uphill and down hill parking? Sorry for all the questions I’m just wondering I take my test soon coming up in about 3 weeks
@@Jay-rn2hk when you first get there, they’ll ask for your documentations and will ask you to use turn signals and check your brake lights. I read somewhere in the comments on a video (I can’t remember which one) that because of COVID restrictions, they’re not asking for the equipment demo (e.g. horn, defroster, windshield wipers). I didn’t have to do it so you probably won’t be doing it also. They still ask you to do one of the uphill/downhill parking. My test took about 10 minutes total. My examiner was extremely nice so I think that also played a factor because although my parallel and 90° were not as great, she said I still got within the lines and didn’t hit anything. Just make sure you drive 15-20 mph or else you won’t have enough time to change lanes on the one ways. I sincerely wish you luck on your test! You got this!

@@danieloloughlin1076 I like tried but wasn’t able to back up lmao 😂 so I didn’t do it. I guess as long as you’re good doing everything else you should be fine. My instructor was chill though she told me “as long as you don’t crash” you’re good.
passed here yesterday on my first try. video helped a lot to familiarize the area and process so it helped nerves. thanks
Were there not a lot of people on the course like in this video? Dumb question, but was it ever hard to tell who had right-of-way being that it seems there's lots of uncontrolled intersections?
@@choosehappy9224 i went at 8:20am which was like the earliest available time on a monday and there was maybe 3 other cars on the course. i imagine if you go later in the day it will be busier
the uncontrolled intersections arent bad just slow down while approaching but you dont have to come to a stop unless you are unable to proceed and if another car is coming whoever gets there first typically has right of way but if it makes you nervous and you see another car coming just slow down and kinda stall for time till the passing car goes.
there is that one way at 9:58 with 2 left and 2 right turn lanes i would make sure that if youre turning into that one way to turn into the lane closest to the curb and after you turn they will probably ask you to cut all the way to the opposite side of the road so make sure they see you checking blind spots. make sure to practice 90 degree backing and parallel park or just watch a bunch of videos like i did lol. hopefully you get a chill proctor because some of them are more chill than the others and that definitely helps with the nerves.
@@_angel04 Thank you so much!!! This was really helpful 😁
U can pull up and adjust on the parkings right? Like the 90 degree if you're too close to the cone
@@kaylarenee1999 yeah you can and i know because i messed it up from overthinking it lol. i'm not sure if it'll dock you points because i threw away my score sheet but for sure you can readjust and they won't tell you to continue instead.
Took my test here today and passed. I had this lady, she was very nice and passed me even though I hit the cones in 90 degree back in and turned into the wrong lane once. Make sure you’re well practiced and I’m sure you’ll do fine(:
are they being more lenient because of the virus? i've practiced a lot and the parking but im still a bit nervous, taking it there next week
also do they let you do up to 3 readjustments for parallel and back in or? also do they allow backup camera and the beeping park assist or nah
Nirali Shah I think it really depends on who your instructor person is. My lady was the one in the video and she was very gracious for letting my pass since I had a few mistakes. I believe you can use a backup camera but I would make sure you have it down without just in case they don’t let you. I believe you have 3 adjustments yes. Good luck! Don’t stress out too much (:
Nirali Shah I took mine last week and I passed on my first time, they aren’t going to ask u questions about the car, you just take the test, it’s quick 5-8 min, pratice parking a lot and you’ll be fine, and watch the video to know what lanes to get into and you’ll be fine, but it does depend on the instructor bc some are assholes
kenna berends who was your instructor?
I failed in Arden Hills 4- 14 -22 and here also months ago when it was snow on the ground. I'm going back here to Egan i think it was a lot easier 🤔 i wish i would've watched this video before i took the test. But now i'll be watching it everyday all day for two weeks. I need some motivated people telling me it's gonna be fine 🙂 Thanks guy's in advance..
I can say that Eagan DMV is easier than other place. I failed on my first time. I took test today and I passed. Just don’t be nervous, drive everyday with someone who has DL then you will get used to it. The tricky one is turn into one way. And always look over your shoulder
@@azizahquinlan1912 false Plymouth the move
That is a nice closed road course for a driver license exam course. A lot of other places in Minnesota don't have that (road tests).
This lady seems so nice. I hope I get her tomorrow.
I just failed here for the second times, first time was because the roads were not plowed at all, so I couldn't see any lanes. And today (January 4th) I failed because I made wrong turns (going from the furthest lane from curb, to lane closest from curb) but this video really helped me navigate more, so next time I will turn into correct turn lanes, and hopefully I will pass :D (currently have to reschedule my test)
Was there anything else that was tricky??
@@kataraxo well I failed my parallel parking, but my instructor said I could take all the time I needed :). But since im not taking it in Eagan anymore since the wait list was to long, now ik taking it in Chaska

Whoa this is a much harder test than CT. Here they give you 3 tries to park and reverse park into a spot and even let you open the doors. They don't ask about the wipers or anything else at all. Nice to see other states be so thorough. And congrats to your kid(?) on passing the exam.
They are pretty tough. I think most people fail it the first time. My kid should have failed because he went through a red light(!!) (the very last part of the test) but I think the testers are so overworked they don't want people coming back if they "substantially comply."
So difficult.. i got test anoka.. really raining day. Road all black water... i was still nervous then they told me do paralel... i failed...only minnesota so difficult of paralel...idk why
@@mbrenengen She sounded like she thought he was cute so I think that played a part in why she passed him lol. But yes, I agree that they are very overworked! When I took my test back in 2018, my examiner had deep circles under his eyes and looked burnt out. I made a couple mistakes but still passed! I think everyone should be given a chance and pass as long as they don't make any huge errors such as causing a collision or blatantly disregard instructions.
@@NurseNick420 wasn't an excuse for my first instructor at Arden hills to be a bitch
I passed my test at EAGAN today even though I did make some mistakes. My biggest advice is when you turn right/left into the one way road you HAVE to make sure you go into the closest lane. Because I forgot about that and I turned into the wrong lane, but I realized that so I quickly lane changed into the correct lane. At the end the instructor just warned me about that but he wasn't mad. I also thought I hit the curb on the parallel park but I apparently only hit the "lip". So make sure you know what you are hitting because the instructor was talking to me about that. But otherwise you should do good!
Thank u this gives me confidence I take mine on the 22nd and have been watching this video religiously so I should be golden wish me luck lol
Do you have to turn into the closest lane?

any tips? i have my test in a month here
1. Make sure you practice your parallel and 90 degree back in parking until you feel confident with it.
2. Always make sure to put blinker and check blind spots when turning (move your head so that the instructor knows you looked)
3. Don’t worry that much about the equipment demonstration skills, they didn’t even have me do it or my brother when we took the test the same day with 2 different instructors. (Both we’re very nice 👍)
4. Make sure to turn into the correct lanes
5. Don’t stress about it, the instructors are nice and the process is very easy 👍

Does anyone know how many points is a failure and how many points each parking type is?
I just passed today, I am grateful to god and to the American people. In order to pass, you must exaggerate everything not too much or too little. When changing lanes look through the passenger window but also when you are in turning into a one a one get into the lane closest tone to you.

I'm not so sure about that because some cars don't have that. Ask your examiner about that and they'll be happy to let you know if you can use it or not. Good luck!! If you want tips/info, check my reply on Hayley Robinson's comment.
Just remember all the streets are at least two lanes on each side, so you'll have to keep that in mind while turning both on and off the streets. Also most of the intersections are uncontrolled so you'll have too slow down and look before crossing.
so at 10:10 when u have to turn left can u turn in the left lane that is closer to the center line and turn in the correct lane or do you have to take the innermost left turn on the test? i'm just worried I wont be able to cut across all in time
U have to cut across all of em sadly just slow down to 10 mph.
What I did was I went into the right-left turn lane since I couldn’t make it to the left-left turn lane. If you’re turning from the right-left turn lane, you go to the inside lane and if you’re turning from the left-left turn lane, you turn to the outside lane (as shown in the video) Fyi, you can see that he stopped before he turned, don’t do that because there’s no stop signs. But if you see other cars coming by, yield to them. Look both ways before proceeding, but don’t stop.
You could turn in the lane closer to the center, but you'd have to turn into the outer lane. I also think it's kind of the point to be able to cross all the way over, because if you don't have time to cross all the way over, especially after a turn, then you're probably going too fast.
Aw shit... I have my road test tomorrow!! I'm super nervous and there's some people saying not to be super reliant on the rear camera for the 90 degree backwards park. I honestly feel like I'm going to have to mental dump the moment my examiner gets in but I'm really hoping for a nice one like the lady here!

After he left the 90 degree back up, it looked like he was driving in the middle of the street? Or should you choose to go more towards the right or left ?? I’m confused on where you should be driving
Or is it just a 1 lane on both sides ?
@@alexismontour9483 they say all roads like that theoretically have 4 lanes. So on that specific road make sure to stay on the ride side but about a car’s width away from the curb because that’s where parked cars could be
@@mimi_baby thank you
What is the distance to practice for parallel parking
Anybody know if we are able to use back up camera during 90??
Is it the car or the poles that will make the beeping sound when u are too close to them. I’m worried I feel like I might accidentally one of the poles I don’t have the feature on my car where it warns if u are too close.
Car.
Hello, what did she ask when she said pull over to the right? I can't quite understand what she's asking.. Thank you!
Where at specifically? (0:00 format)
Can you use your back up camera on this or do they not allow it?
Of course they let you use the backup camera, but be sure to also check your mirrors.
@@mbrenengen alright thank you
My bf did his test here and they failed him cause he forgot to check his mirrors one last time🤦🏽♀️ then the second time the worker was being rude. I wish he was driving with this lady
Sorry but that’s bullshit. They can’t fail you for not checking mirrors once. Your bf is lying to you probably because he sucks ass at driving.
Plus this place is the best possible place to take it in mn
@@Waysubs he didn’t check his mirrors 4 times and he has his license and is a good driver 🤷🏽♀️
what hell this was for me took 4 damn times till I passed always some little tiny thing that screwed me
Failed my road test 8 times for petty reasons for my turns being a little too wide I don’t know what to do. I have a kid on the way and I need my license so I can go to work. I can’t find professional stable work because of this. I don’t want to end up homeless due to lack of work. Please 🙏🏾 help
When they said turn right or left do you have to go to the farthest left or right turn lane?
Go left to left lane and right to right lane if possible, everytime.
I’m taking mine next Wednesday and boy am I nervous
Edit: I actually passed!!! Also good luck to everyone else and remember to stay calm
Mine Thursday!! 😭😭 You got this!! 🙌🏼🙌🏼
Doing mine this Friday! We all got this down!!!
Taking mine tomorrow😭
@@michaelsuh1764 good luck, you got this!!!
Good luck to all of you! 🥺
Do they fail there because they don’t see the one way I’m confused
I have very good questions guys, why do u have to bring a copy of your previous test results for the second test (plz reply if u know)
Yes you do
Are you aloud to readjust/move forward during the 90 degree back in?
I believe so. You can adjust any way you want, as long as you don’t hit the cones going into the spot.
Yes.
I just passed here:), if you get the lady in this video it’s the exact same route, turn into the correct lane, and be calm and patient
OMG~tomorrow~super nervous. Congratulations.
@@reexia2774 Me too!
@IceyKnight 3x I have my test tomorrow. I hope I get her too😭
Take my test here tomorrow, my 90 degree back in is a bit sketchy but are points deducted if your not centered? If they aren't then I should be good.
Edit: I passed, test wasn't that bad and my instructor was very nice
How similar was the test to the video?
Did you pass?
@@rebeccapeters6349 yep
@@ohpain6061 I took a different route so not really
I passed here yesterday and my instructor was cool. They did say I did poorly on the Parallel and up hill park because I wasn’t close enough to the curb. Other than that I feel like if you exaggerate looking at your mirrors and surroundings a bit you should be fine and also using your signals everytime. I was probably driving for about 8 minutes. My mom failed her test here probably like 25 ish years ago because she didn’t look in her mirrors enough and she didn’t have the circulation on to keep the windows from fogging up.
was it excalty like the vid?
@@Eternalabliss The amount of turns and the route was similar but I did uphill parking instead of down. Some of the other drivers went a different route but mines was similar to the video. I know the 3 drivers that went before me didn’t immediately do the 90° back parking like in the video… I was the only one who started with that
how do you avoid driving on the wrong side of the street. When the instructor says make a left turn where do you turn to avoid a mistake
Just watch the video a bunch - actually the other video of my daughter failing the test is better for this. Just remember that if you are in the inside turn lane, turn to the inside lane. If you are in the outside left turn lane, turn to the outside lane. It is that simple.
what’s the difference between low and high beams? how do you turn on the high ones?
How many adjustments are we allowed to do on the parallel and 90 degree parking?
Ayomide Daodu 1 adjustment. That means a forward movement and backward movement.
Does anyone have an idea of how far apart the measurements are for 90 degree back in?
probably the size of a normal parking spot
Cones are 10 feet apart
I just passed the test today
