Hearing this about Ventress gives me a new respect for her. While the bloodthirstiness and cruelty was something that I looked down on, I now see that she wasn’t a lowly assassin, but a capable warrior, freedom fighter, and queen (in a way)
To be fair she is the way she is because she went thru some harsh stuff of course involving the jedi. Anyone who even gets associated with the jedi then has any kind of negative opinion about it is usually turned villain
@@Mrcaptainmorgan93 which in many ways is why the Jedi Order was a huge problem. Tens of millennia of being seen as paragons of good, regardless of a few oops's, made their overall position in galactic society almost unassailable. Trying to beat that much good PR even when they did callous or outright harmful things was almost impossible, the court of public opinion would eviscerate anyone who tried. In the end its easier to just wage a war or plot some shit than try to take them head on.
To be a true Jedi is to accept that the darkness exists, and that it can never truly be defeated. But to learn it and study the entirety of the force is the wisest action. “Know thy enemy”
The only problem with that is when George Lucas was kicking his idea of balance to the force was light side supremacy, with zero dark side users even though it occurred naturally in non sentient beings in his own stories so fuck George Lucas the Expanded Universe is cooler than any of the trilogies
In The Essential Guide to the Force book, Obi-Wan made an interesting comparison between Ventress and Anakin or more precisely Darth Vader, in that they both understand the loss of loved ones and had reasons to hate the Republic and the Jedi Order. However, while Obi-Wan sees Ventress as a victim to fear, abandonment, and unfortunate circumstances, he doesn't see Vader as the same kind of victim but as a strong-willed man who gave in to the craving for power.
Ventress is a character like maul that was really screwed by the movies already determining the future. The clone wars built her into a character that would have made a great complement to maul and ashoka as force users conflicted and no longer purely light or dark. I would have loved a series of the 3 surviving after order 66. I feel like offering maul to build an order to one day kill the Master that abandoned him would have made a surprisely convincing argument for him. Ventress with the teachings of duku, maul with the teachings of sidious, and ashoka with teachings of who would be Vader. The three apprentices of the 3 biggest sith lords of the era working together to fight back against the empire built by their masters is such a great concept. With them fighting each other. Constantly fearful of the others turning but knowing that they will die alone.
I mean I knew some of this Legends stuff that she felt the Jedi failed her Master by abandoning him to die and that they weren't doing enough to help the galaxy so she did what she had to, but I never knew her people loved her that much or about the true Jedi thing. Personally, my definition of a true Jedi is a bit different then what this incarnation of Ventress though, in fact, I think the Canon Ventress from Clone Wars was a closer fit to my definition after she left the CIS. After that, while she still used the dark-side on occasion she wasn't blooded thrusty anymore, and she knew how to restrain herself, not just not killing the Clones when she was with Ahsoka, but letting the girl go in season 4 and sparing Boba's life. Basically, someone who occasionally uses the dark side, but can restrain themselves enough to not let their anger blind them. Another closer definition to a true Jedi for me personally is Obi-Wan when it came to Satine, he loved her and did everything he could to help her, but when she was killed by Maul, while he was clearly sad and heartbroken he didn't let his anger consume him because he knew it would mean both Maul wins and he dishonors Satine's memory by doing what she would be against giving in to his anger. Again, a Jedi can form attachments and even use a little dark side here and there, but as long as they can restrain themselves it's fine. Like what Luke taught his students in Legends when he allowed Jedi to get married.
Luke did a bit more than that. He went a bit dark himself when his wife died, and encouraged Jaina to do the same in order to kill Caedus--which she did.
I kinda hope we get a spin off animated show like the Clone Wars, but maybe just "Untold Star Wars stories" and having Asajj show us how she saw the war, and maybe just random citizens and what they fought with.
Wow... I only knew her from the Clone Wars... but dang, I wish we could have a Force Unleashed 1 style game with her and witness this story firsthand in a 25h+ campaign
Here I was spotting the video on my home page thinking it was a bold claim but after watching this, I get where you're coming. This totally should've been in the show, maybe best during the bounty hunter part of her life
Okay so I know this doesn't relate to this video but I have a question. Was Captain Rex made an Arc trooper, because i recall hearing that he was nut i can't find an answer?
Her independent spirit is admirable, probably because she was raised in slavery and has a strong distaste and dislike for slaveries. Why she is also drawn to the dark side. Her actions can be forgiven tho.but not the actions of anakin(he vomited genocide
So, if she was the queen of rattatak why didn't she go back after being betrayed by dooku? I get that the planet was under the confederacy but given her description I feel like the people there would've probably helped her take back control if she had to. I'm not super informed on this but as far as I'm aware she basically spends the rest of her life as a bounty hunter, right? Seems weird that she'd favor that over ruling over a planet of people who basically worship her. I guess you can say it's cause she's a fighter by nature but given the description of the planet I can't say that'd be a good reason for her not to go back.
Dark Disiple Audible version is really good. I am listening through right now for the second time. Even though Dis retconed they will not even acknowledge Star Wars republic. It is too dark. Unfortunately.
Underrated character. And ripped off from the sw universe with some cheap story that made for get rid of her... damnn all the Dathomir was have a huge potential :' (
Too bad we won’t get Dark Disciple in season 7..
It would have been 8 episodes according to Wookiepedia... How epic would that have been
:((((((((((((((((
I still held a glimmer of hope
And there won't be a season 8 :(
To bad there only going to be season 7
That’s easy. She collected all the coins in a level on LEGO Star Wars: TCS

Asajj Ventres has a tragic backstory that even rivals that of Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader in the Star Wars Universe.
Love Asajj and Quinlan. They deserve their stories told on screen, not just in a novel....
Don't tell Disney this, they'll ruin it. Wait till KK is out and someone else takes her place at the head of Lucas
My library had the comics by darkhorse. What a great find.
All I know about Ventress is that she's probably the reason some guys are into chicks without any hair
Oof
Guys aren't the only ones into her!
Um....yep.
Riley Nixon 🔥❤️🤣
Aye bro you know I tried asking my ex to rp being ventress in bed 😂😂💪
It bums me out that Ventress kinda just faded into obscurity after Ahsoka's trial. But I mean hey, at least she is her own person now.
Ya it's a bit odd considering ahsoka and ventress are two sides of the same coin, it's a bit dead that dooku just killed her off screen
I prefer Ventress with hair
Hair is for the light side. Lol
Me too
The bald banshee
Lady Gaga would slay as live-action Asajj Ventress namely in Clone Wars flashbacks or Dark Apprentice alongside Quinlin Vos.

I’ve always liked ventress!! Next to Ahsoka she’s my favorite character. Mostly because of the life journey that made her the person she was!!
To be fair Doku probably bought into the whole "true jedi" hype himself, a Sith only because a Sith is necessary.

Marriage is so dark side 8-)
Asajj Ventress's first appearance was in Tartakovsky's Clone Wars. She was created for the show.
Star Wars in one sentence:
I have a bad feeling about this!
She came a long way
Wow only 3 views this deserves more this was an awesome vid
The Cheese Touch bruh when you commented it was not even a minute old
Ventress is one of my all-time favorite SW characters

How did she build her green lightsaber though I doubt she’d have the components to build it just laying around and they couldn’t have gone to Illum
There are more planets with kyber crystals like lothal
Julian yeah but it said they were stranded and couldn’t get off the planet
@@craftergamer9058 yeah, we can thus conclude thst rattatak has kyber crystals
Julian neat
Or perhaps her master had additional crystals.
6:33 would you want to leave her dungeon?
Of course not im desperate not stupid

Wow... I only knew her from the Clone Wars... but dang, I wish we could have a Force Unleashed 1 style game with her and witness this story firsthand in a 25h+ campaign
I’d love to see a series or video game or something depicting Ventress’ is early life and her assault on the warlords
Asaaj just needed love.
I loved her character from her first moments in the micro-series.
Ventress: I'm TRUE Jedi Master!
Meanwhile Jedi Council: we grand you a sit in the Council but not the rank of Jedi Master then.
Didn’t know all of it. But such situations, within the CIS, wasn’t unheard of to me & such…
You still didn't explain how she was a true Jedi or why she even thought that?
She isn't because she didn't get enough studs in the show, just sayin

Hey I know you mainly do law but could you review some star wars games that would awesome :D
Thanks for educating me on the true Ventress.
As one-sided as it may be I'd love to see a Death Battle between Asajj and Nebula.
4:44 where'd she get the kyber crystal for her lightsaber
Ofcourse! That is a great achievement. Collecting almost every coin in a star wars: the complete saga
I wonder what would have happen if she around as Palp had made sure she remove a match for Vader
That was quite enjoyable, and I support her POV...
She was a Jedi till she left

Dooku was also a true Jedi Master, not a pawn to the Republic!
for a jedi/sith assassin, she seemed to have a cartoonishly long neck(2003 clown wars)
Have you've seen pnb rock?
Roll tide
If it doesn't work out, she can just join Hellraiser
She cowardly killed Master Fay, the greatest Jedi of all time.
Ventress is amazing
interesting
She is the one Ben the really loved .
The answer is obviosly she collect all of the lego stud and gain true jedi
Ok im lost is ventress dead in canon or is she alive still and whats deal with baris???????
Because Ventress didn't miss a single stud
I always liked her. I mean I thought she was hot so that had something to do with it. Shes literally why I think some bald chicks are sexy.
She got enough studs
Sweet 👍
Why couldn't they just let her be Ratatakki?
...oh yeah, hair.
Let me guess, did she collected enough lego studs? xd
