    Dooku is very overlooked. He was absolutely pivotal as Sidious apprentice, he was able to use his wealth, charisma, and reputation to avoid any suspicion of his true motives and unite the disparate factions of discontent into a true threat. He came up with the plan that recruited Jango Fett, he personally recruited and trained Ventress and Grievous, he caused a schism in the Jedi Order making many abandon it for his teachings. He also helped fund part of the GAR and indeed placed the order for it under Syfos Dyas name and erased the Archives pertaining to Kamino. He was also instrumental in pushing Anakin closer to the Dark Side(and indeed held back from killing Anakin on multiple occasions(much to his later regret i am sure)
    Without Dooku as Tyranus, Sidious likely never could have achieved control as thoroughly as he did.

    • @ryanconnolly1950
      @ryanconnolly1950 4 года назад +132

      The crazy part though is that though while what so say is true, Sidious would never both recognize AND appreciate Tyranus's efforts, because of how apathetic Sidious is.

      You forgot to mention what most people overlook also is that Dooku had an alt motive in that he wanted to avenge Qui gon, bring down the sith and jedi both conclusively. Jedi and the republic were corrupt after all

    • @grandadmiralzaarin4962
      @grandadmiralzaarin4962 4 года назад +29

      @@halo091 you are partly correct. Dooku did intend to eventually avenge Qui Gon...at least he did initially. After he saw first hand how far above him in power Palpatine was and that he was also twenty years older than Palpatine those plans got put on indefinite hold. Dooku did want to destroy and replace the Jedi Order with a new Sith version of it(likely a version of what later became the Inquisitors)

    • @grandadmiralzaarin4962
      @grandadmiralzaarin4962 4 года назад +15

      @Mackenzie Bauroth I'm afraid your conclusion, while passionate is completely unfounded in facts. Dooku was not defeated or even concerned in the duel on Tatooine, both combatants disarmed each other without greatly affecting the duel so Tyranus falling down a dune does not mean Anakin had the upper hand as a similar incident happened to Anakin in the same duel. The duel on Naboo was with the express intent of capturing Anakin alive and intact to exchange for Grievous, Tyranus holds back and barely engages him save to incapacitate Anakin at the end. Again this is a mark in Tyranus favor that he is fighting a limited battle against an opponent who is actively trying to kill him. The second duel on Naboo likewise shows Tyranus following the plan to test, not kill Anakin as if you watch the Count's retreat it is not frantic but paced and controlled, when Anakin chokes him he then escalates and throws him back with Force lightning. You also are selective in your examples not accounting for the duel among the Pykes where Tyranus with relative ease deals with both Obi Wan and Anakin, accomplished his mission and escaped making a fool out of Anakin-which was always his ordered intent, embarrass and hurt Anakin to push him closer to the Dark Side, never to kill him. Again that Tyranus did this for years against a skilled Jedi duelist that was trying to kill him speaks to his skill, not against it.
      Further you forget that the conversation Palpatine has with Vader is specifically to reassure Vader he wouldn't be replaced like Tyranus. So he purposely downplayed Tyranus to Vader and since Vader had an active grudge against Dooku that makes sense. Palpatine is telling Vader what he wants to hear.
      Maul was never anything more than a skilled animal that followed Sidious like a dog without his own ambitions as an apprentice.

Well, there used to be a different continuity surrounding the franchise, especially during the Clone Wars era. It became so popular among the fans that the only thing they feared was losing it to another cannon, which of course, they eventually did when Disney took over.

The ripple in the force sidious felt afterwards was not because of maul's death. It was because plagueis was reaching from the realm of "chaos" to try to come back. An attempt that eventually did not come to fruition. Ironic. He could save others from death but not himself.

It's also a pretty important stage for Palpatine as well, because he doesn't just kill Plaguies, he utterly dominates him by using lightning and force choke, showing how powerful he actually was to kill his master not just through surprising him with force lightning, but by actually taking the time to slowly toy with Plagueis.

    You say that both Darth Plagueis and Darth Sidious attempted to influence the midichlorians to create life..
    But wasn't it Darth Plagueis who attempted to create life without Darth Sidious's knowledge after they had tipped the scales of balance (of the force) in favor of the Sith? And he then felt overly confident in his powers that he tried creating life if I'm not mistaken..
    I could be remembering the story wrong but I'm pretty sure that is how it went down.

    The real question is who did Darth Plaguis care about to keep from dying? Not himself because well Palpatine said so and also said he could keep "the ones" he cared about. So there multiple people who plaugis kept from dying. Who were they?

    Did you ever hear the tragedy of Darth Plagueis The Wise? I thought not. It’s not a story the Jedi would tell you. It’s a Sith legend. Darth Plagueis was a Dark Lord of the Sith, so powerful and so wise he could use the Force to influence the midichlorians to create life… He had such a knowledge of the dark side that he could even keep the ones he cared about from dying. The dark side of the Force is a pathway to many abilities some consider to be unnatural. He became so powerful… the only thing he was afraid of was losing his power, which eventually, of course, he did. Unfortunately, he taught his apprentice everything he knew, then his apprentice killed him in his sleep. Ironic. He could save others from death, but not himself.

    It is weird to hear "The Sith" do anything, when it was just a handful of "true" Sith at the time, who were smart enough to infiltrate the realms of the rich and powerful. You would think it was a secret organization, which I suppose it was a secret, but the organization was really a pair of Sith following the Rule of Two. That is to a degree, because of course Sith are not going to respect the idea of passing down your legacy, or having your successors earn it.

    About a year late but, and I'm not sure which you've covered any already, here are some ideas for Sith:
    1. Darth Maul: Disney Timeline
    2. Darths Bane and Zannah: Mostly Legends since the DT hasn't given us much on them.
    3. Naga Sadow: The guy responsible for the Great Hyperspace War. May or may not be part of the DT via the Qel-Droma Epics...
    4. Darth Lumiya: Luke's crazy ex turned Sith.
    5. Darth Anddedu: The guy who apparently discovered Essence Transfer in the first place.
    6. Ajunta Pall: Instigator of the Hundred Year Darkness and founder of the Sith Order.

    4:48 I don’t understand how that works. “Dark Lord of the Sith” is just a title, he could have just killed him and took the title. You see this with the Jedi and it’s sub secs too.
    Now if that title had literal power to it like a transfer of life force, knowledge, or sharpening of senses then that would be different but as it is that isn’t the case. Like the title of Master Jedi is given to those individuals who has accumulated vast amounts of knowledge on the force and has a strong enough will to survive that transfer intact both physically and mentally. A knight who isn’t as knowledgeable and as strong willed will be killed during the process.
    This will also explain why Luke was able to rebuild the Jedi order from scratch as Yada was the Grand Master of the Jedi with all the lore, practice and training of all positions in the Jedi Order.

      Perhaps it was just an attempt to humiliate Tenebrous. Or maybe Plagueis wanted Tenebrous to pass it on to him verbally because it wouldn't have felt "proper" otherwise.
      Alternatively it might've just been a brief oversight by the author.

    I think if Disney would’ve had Plageious would’ve transferred his essence to Darth Jar Jar which would’ve kept the original plan for Jar Jar to be a Sith Lord that ends up biding his time in the shadows to take over after the fall of the empire. He could’ve even taken Maul back on as his own apprentice. Which the Sith stopped the rule of 2 which allowed Maul to have his own apprentice Talon that would’ve followed closely to Lucas’s original plan for the trilogy.
