Command or not, purposefully ticking off a magical rage-borg is unwise.
Oh yes indeed. That has a tendency to end rather badly.
Or very very badly.
Even Tarkin had his limits with pissing off Vader 😂
His resistance was futile!
Man isn’t that the truth
I swear the emperor just loves trolling Vader
Yep
It is usually explicitly that
Its very much on purpose and servers generally 2 goals:
- Give Vader a goal of trying to overthrow or kill him while keeping his hate going.
- General Entertainment cause by this point theres very lil Palps can do to have fun.
Considering he wanted Vader to become a better politician. Even though he's not suited for it.
Trolling him, was probably the only way to teach him. XD
That’s the theme they are going for in this series. It’s part of the plot and the over arching narrative. Emperor=really bad. Vader=bad but sympathetically bad with a spirit of vengeance for the slights he has been given. It’s really good villain writing.
The emperor does it again ! , testing Vader's patience and stretching it until the limit but granting him sweet revenge
he is the Dark Lord of Edging
I can not tell if English is your first language or note, but for future reference you do not need a space before punctuation. Punctuation is done with no space prior and a space afterward. Please do not assume this explanation is an insult. I am only going off your comment and providing explanation for any future comments.
@@garywilbanks7236 😂
@@garywilbanks7236 I was just about to say that. Seems Palpatine knows how to motivate.
@@jojoflap not*
Can you imagine being Vader trying to catch the brat who crashed his bosses car only to find out it was his own son? No wonder he looked so aged under that helmet
That...thats, actualy..actually... I mean... Jesus dude that pretty much sums it up 😂
Haven't heard that one before lol that's both funny and a perfect way to describe what happened
I think he was proud about that
" Not used to taking orders" he said about the former slave.
“Where is the rebel base?” -Darth Vader asked calmly
that's propably exactly why being bossed around pisses him off though
He betrayed the Jedi so he wouldn’t have to take orders anymore…
*Vader force choking Tage*
Tarkin: “Ehhhhh…. Ima let him have this one.”
Ghost-Tarkin maybe. Pretty sure he ded by that point.
I think this was a huge part of how Palpatine controlled Vader. He always put Vader in horrible straights that fueled his anger but would eventually give him the chance for vengeance. This was basically a dopamine hit to give his apprentice some measure of satisfaction. It never occurred to me until now that Vader was basically in an abusive relationship with Palpy.
Keep him busy so he can't turn on you.
thats generally how the sith roll.
(its also how they teach)
Really? Not until now?
Vader knew how Palpatine used him the moment he was named Darth Vader, he realised that Palpatine was manipulating him and had he beaten Obiwan wouldve likely gone on to kill Palpatine aswell, it's mainly the armor and physical disabilities that stops him from killing his master
You'd think after witnessing what Darth Vader did to Tagge, Admiral Ozzell would have been more careful.
Apparently he missed the safety briefing about not pissing off the giant murder borg.
5:12 tell me palpatine doesn’t look like the grinch without green fur lmao haha😂
I see it lol
Looks a bit like jim carrey as the grinch too
😮😢😂😂😂😂😂😂😅😅😊
If Tagge hadn’t let the power go to his head, and showed Vader the proper respect, he might have survived.
Would he though? Vader killed his subordinates when they messed up, even if they never showed anything but respect.
We'd Like to Think So but No, The Empire Ain't Like That
Survived and thrived.
Tell Captain Needa that
@Drachenhannes. He did spare Admiral Piette.
Despite being a man obsessed with graphs and analytics, Tagge was a fool. A truly smart commander would have spoken with Vader privately and come to terms with him. He no doubt had information on how many imperial officers that Vader had...retired during his career. If he and Vader had come to an understanding, made it look like Vader was being punished for the emperor. He might just have lived long enough to see some of his ideas come to fruition, as well as having Vader's backing, not as a friend, but at least as someone Vader had a mutual respect for.
It might seem like the guy was unwise to treat Vader with disrespect but the truth is that Vader would have killed him for his failure anyway even if hadn't so he might as well have.
I dont think thats true. Vader respects good leadership.
I think emporer wanted him to due so, to fuel vaders rage. passion gives him strength
fun comic. Some of the greatest patience ever seen from anakin/vader. He could've drawn out his demise a bit longer.
You'd think after that force choke, Vader gave him on the 1st death star after he disrespectful comments about his views of the Force, he would've learned to be more cautious around Vader.
that was Motti not Tagge
The emperor is soo cunning omg! He knows exactly how to keep vader under his complete control.
He severely disciplines him for his failure to the point where most people would have betrayed him and then he shows vader that nah im done being pissed at u your place is here and then re affirms him with trust and redemption that isnt even compassionate but of the dark side. like he knows what hees doing omg.
The more I hear about that Story, the more respect goes to Thrawn trolling both Vader and Palpatine, and survived.
“Be careful whose toes you step on, because they might end up connected to butt you one day have to kiss.”
Whoever said quote must of had a stroke midway through saying that…
I actually liked Tagge from the movie. He seemed like one of the more level headed Imperial Officers, not outright hostile towards Vader like Motti either. Had a realistic view on what the Rebellion was capable of and didn't blindly trust in the power of the Death Star. Also why would an Imperial Army general being commanding the Imperial Fleet?
He was made Supreme Commander, which gave him authority over all military forces. Think General Douglas MacArthur during WW2. Even though MacArthur was an Army officer, he still had full authority over all other troops, regardless of service branch.
2:31 Vader looks like he has a big pair of puppy eyes. The gray curves in the outer edges of his visors make him look like that. LOL You're welcome. 🤣
I see that when his watching Luke being electrocuted by the Emperor
Vader being very Jedi with all that restraint and patience
Vader with a red cape goes hard.
Grand General Schmuck purposely angered Vader. That was NOT a Wise move.
What Cassio Tagge failed to see is that his power relied on paper, someone named him a commander, others acknowledge it. Darth Vader's power comes from The Force, he is powerful regardless of what others say. And a Paper Tiger like Cassio Tagge will always be shred to pieces by an actual Tiger.
Sounds like he got up-Taged! One nice thing about Vader using force choke is that it doesn't leave a mess on the deck.
I think Tagge was put there to kind "punish" Vader by the Emperor - let a lesser person essentially boss him around a bit. But in the end, when Tagge failed, the Emperor, knowing al about Vader's humiliation by the smug noble, and wanting to set an example, let Vader be the one to essentially punish Tagge. After all , Vader was Palp's enforcer. Keep the others in line with fear.
Tagge actually had a fair bit of respect for Vader. His only flaw was that he unwittingly allowed Cylo to take over the Executor. Had that not happened, Vader might have let him live, knowing, as he did, Tagge’s strategic brilliance.
8:17 little did they know, Vader would eventually kill everyone in this room
That's always been conflicting Canon though Vader really *DIDN'T LIKE THE DEATH STAR* so in essence 3:10 or so in when Tagge mentions "Tarkin's Folley" Vader really canonically speaking should've agreed there are multiple source materials with Vader disapproving of The Death Star
He flat-out said so right in front of Tarkin even, before choking Admiral Motti.
Maybe he just respected Tarkin.
@@laneneely1077 From what ive read and seen, he really didnt like Tarkin but respected him for the most part.
Tarkin's vision of a weapon that would make all systems cower when mentioned would be great for the Empire, but making it a Single Station was the biggest mistake.
Many people shared this sentiment but kept quiet due to fear of "opossing" the Empire; even Thrawn saw it as a massive risk to focus so many resources, especially when the Fleet/Navy could be improved further to be far better trained and equipped.
@Lontracanadensis tis what I referred to as saying *MULTIPLE* He does To Krenic in Rogue 1, He does in the books including Thrawn Alliances when he flat out basically tells Thrawn he agrees 100% against the Death Star & wants More Capital Ships & Annnd *TIE DEFENDERS* He tells Thrawn "I will personally tell The Emperor I agree with you not only on the amount of waste in the death star but I want your Capital ships & Tie design to be pushed through" mind you Rogue 1 is Disney Era so both Lucas & Disney & the in-between books, comics fan made, most lore more consistently says "Vader is NOT Keen On The DS Project"
@@peterwhite6415 I think Vader respected a lot more people than he liked.
Admiral Ozzel just witnessed his future fate right before his very own eyes, lol.
I think this guy just like saying “Casio O’ Tage”!!!!!!!! 😂
For a moment I thought it was Kratos
I thought it was Picard
I thought it was Mr.Clean
I mean, that's how you get choked out from 7,000 lightyears out, so...
Command over Vader is fleeting, make sure you don't piss him off at all
They should make this into a live-action mini-series.
Angering Darth Vader? That isn't going to end well....
F'cking Vader... Subtlety isn't something in his vocabulary.
*Sudlty
@@im3phirebird81No, it's subtlety.
@@im3phirebird81 what? lol
Lol
Not smart to poke a bear.
I found his lack of fath deatrbing 😂😂😂😂
nailed it
Did you have a stroke at the end?
Dude had it coming. Never piss off a Sith Lord.
I wish we had this Darth Vader on the Big Screen. A prime Darth Vader would go so hard.
This is a Star Wars version of "FAFO".
More than one person tried their crap with Vader. They did not realize that Captain Respirator was Palpi McScrotumface’s right hand. A rather unfortunate oversight.
The emperor was trolling Anakin Skywalker Lord Vader the entire time he never let him reach his true potential out of fear
The one thing he should have remembered, was that Vader was that apprentices can be hard to replace, commanders not so much.
Bruh who did Lil bro think he was lmao
I always find it funny that the officers thinking pissing off the emperors right hand is a good way to go. Even through cannonly dude wiped out an entire battalion of rebels by himself
I love the comics of vader
Where was Thrawn during this time period? I thought Palp's had him way up the food chain.
This is cannon so Thrawn is lost in the different galaxy from the end of Rebels.
@@billygrantham5380 Hmm...
He went MIA in the tentacles of a pissed off purgil somewhere around 1 year before the battle of yavin.
All of what is covered in this video is post bby
Haha Death Vader is a Dawg 😂
The events revolving around vader in the years leading up to Yavin are great material for more SW series. Imagine seeing Vader leading his 501st (now storm troopers) in battles.
If Taage wanted to REALLY rub Vaders nose in it, he could have told Vader to clean the racks.
6:29 He wasn't used to being treated like a servant?
He was a slave.
I wonder if Vader having to deal with normal people is how a billionaire feels being around people who shop at Walmart.
Bullying a Rancor is never a good idea.
Vader is the commander of the Imperial military goddamn it tagge
The Emperor is Phil Jackson, and Darth Vader is Michael Jordan.
Old Palpy can play Vader like a cheap fiddle.
"Half machine... half magic... and what's with the cloak? Are we going to the Opera?... I think not"
Bro, was trying to speedrun death😂
Clicked the instant I read the notification
aaaaw, poor vader. Were his feelings hurt?
Having ozzel witness it was a very nice touch.
This was brutal, great video :-)
It's when Star Wars Comics says, " Darth Vader without even saying a word " I started rolling like YESSSS!!!!
Seems like a nice guy.
This entire thing doesn’t work. Tagge was stationed on the Death Star, no evacuation was ever ordered and there is no way he survived that explosion.
Supposedly he was on dantooine when the deathstar was destroyed in the expanded material
But in the movies, yeah, He's Super dead in the death star explosion
I have this series in my collection, it’s my second favorite line of comics
I kept waiting for the guy in the photo to make me turn this on to be the one that was the antagonist
The best way to get your revenge.
Ozzel looking on as Tagge was strangled😆😆😆😆
Its always not great idea provote someone who can kill other person with invisible power...
I feel like Vader would just kill him anyway and deal with the Emporer later.
Palpatine: Tage! You have been demoted beneath Darth Vader!
HAVE FUN! 😜
Tage: WhAt??!
Vader: Come along. I have a…….present waiting…..for your act of kindness to me. 😈
Darth Vader in a red cape is easily the best look of the empire.
I just want a Vader series or movies. His adventures and side missions are so cool!
So Disney can ruin the LAST good thing about Star Wars. Hard pass. Leave him the badass he is.
Either Disney would give him the Witcher treatment and make him a side character in his own show OR they would gender + race swap him and make the new fem-Vader gay.
Great video, funny thumbnail
Note to self: do not piss Darth Vader off under any circumstance
Yeah, I don’t recommend angering the guy who can choke you to death with a thought over the equivalent of a Space Skype call.
Damn, agent 47 tellin Darth Vader he got a strange name
I think he was right the number of super star destroyers instead of the deathstar would have actually destroyed the rebellion and saved a few useful planets.
I would really like to see Tagge appear in The Bad Batch.
"None could escape Vader's furry none could escape his wrath." That included the Emperor himself in the end.
Vader has only one boss. Anyone else who tries will ... disturb him.
9:20 And the fool still had the gall to talk down to Vader in the beginning of TESB.
I used to want to see a lord Vader movie put out about his injuries but with Disney owning it it would all be a lie
Please do a video on all of silos creations
Darth Vader also gained a new ability daring this time no one talks about. He was able to force choke his chicken. Cockadoodledoo Lord Vader mechanical voice called out. As if to mock ob -1 .
That should be a force strong trilogy
Feels like the emperor knew all that would happen and used it as a means to fuel vader's rage.
i think that's the point yeah.
Thrawn: The Death Star is a bad idea
Vader: The Death Star is a bad idea
Palpatine: Nah it's good n junk
Taige: Pfft I knew the whole time The Death Star was a bad idea
Palpatine: You're a true visionary! Promoted! As for you two, get back to work. And Vader you're demoted
Thrawn: How often does this happen?
Vader: Literally every second of every day
Thrawn: Why do you...uh
Vader: Put up with it? Easy. In the end I always get to kill the guy in charge of me.
Tarkin: This bickering is pointless! What are we? Junior high bitches?
Vader: He started it.
friends?!: NO -force choking
This guy is the bravest man in the empire
The pronunciation of the names Tagge and Motti in this video hurt my soul.
Yes
Tayj lol. Couldn’t make it two minutes
It’s ironic that Vader loves to kill imperial officers for their failures but Vader history is filled with nothing but failures. I wonder why he never lived up to his own doctrine and forced chocked himself…
Where's the Space Mussolini looking guy from the thumbnail?
Dude looked like he could've taken Vader.
Which comic series is this?
Words of wisdoms that I learned over the years = Don't be a dick.
Of course, Captain Picard
