Thanks for the series on installing klipper on the ender 3 v2! You've done a good job (even though there was a few hiccups, but not your fault), I managed to finish the tower test print. I honestly can't find a difference from bottom to top, only a very minor ghosting on top-right side of the "X" letter. I guess I can use 6000 as the max (keep it conservative). I was blown away at how fast it printed! 2.61 seconds a layer at the top layers! Agian, Thanks!
Hey man thanks for taking the time to shoot and edit these videos. I plan on trying to set up klipper on my 3v2 here in a few weeks. I have a suggestion for for fixing your z banding. I used an anti backlash nut with two springs holding the m3 screws where it mounts to the nut and gantry bracket. I have them maxed out and the springs under very little tension. This allows for the cheap lead screw to wobble freely through the bracket. Then i carefully tensioned the gantry wheels with the eccentric nut to not be overly tight and move freely. I have the dual stepper for the z axis upgrade kit. My z banding is gone now.
Thanks for doing this vid. Tried it before (all3dprinter article) but their written explanation of slicer settings was not indepth enough for me noob ;) now I followed your steps and got better results with input shaping on my ender 3s1pro! btw.: instead of an raspPi I run klipper / Moonraker / Mainsail on linux mint inside a oracle VM on my laptop. It's a 8gb ram, m7 cpu with win10 on it. didnt wanna convert it all to linux. best part: this laptop only consumes 7-10watts while printing! (that's less than a raspPi :) Just had some issues with MCU shutdowns (because the USB settings of the VM machine were to slow - move to USB3 and now it works! next I tune pressure advance ;) greets from Austria, Mario
That's actually great to hear about the laptop. I'm looking into similar alternatives for running my machines. Looking to get a minipc to run all three ender 3's at once. I have a raspi running two machines currently.
@@EB3DPrinting yeah I was thinking of doing the switchwire conversion but I have a voron so I decided for something different. Dual z seems like a good idea though for fast z hops
Heads up! Your link to the ADXK345 sensor goes to a MPU-6050 sensor which uses I2C and cannot sample fast enough for input shaping or has support in Klipper. I bought these by accident using your link not really thinking or reviewing with the BUY IT NOW Amazon button. LOL
The X adapter ended up being too thick for my stock nozzle to fit. I recommend to anyone that’s planning on using the X adapter, to double check its thickness and thin it a bit to accommodate your nozzle thread length just in case.
nice tutorial ! i am currently working to convert my ender 3 v2 to Klipper and there lies the problem. is it okay to follow your steps when im using mainsail regarding to the pi stuff like in 23:32 if i have another username would pi still be okay or should the "pi" be replaced with something else like the user. im gonna convert it to mainsail not octopi-Klipper
Could you possibly make a tutorial on your custom UI? I have tried to replicate it, but cannot figure out how you did certain things. there is very little in the way of custom UI tutorials that I can find.
Love your guide. Still planning on getting klipper on my ender 3. But I'm curious, were you able to fix the z banding issue? I have a month-old ender 3 (although it's been mostly printing non-stop). Recently im experiencing a lot of z banding. Any inputs would be greatly appreciated.
The z-banding was another rabbit hole I went down. Originally tried dual z lead screws, but still was having issues with the z banding. I eventually tried a belt driven approach and that worked awesome. Find more info here: ruclips.net/video/oUdoJUs8Zcg/видео.html
I get the error: {'message': "Error on 'TUNING_TOWER COMMAND=SET_VELOCITY_LIMIT PARAMETER=ACCEL START=500 STEP_DELTA=500 STEP_HEIGHT=5': missing FACTOR", 'error': 'WebRequestError'} -- After I enter TUNING_TOWER COMMAND=SET_VELOCITY_LIMIT PARAMETER=ACCEL START=500 STEP_DELTA=500 STEP_HEIGHT=5
hum, used your link for the accelerometer, it brings up a MPU6050 3 Axis Accelerometer which is apparently not a ADXL345 different pin names???? just a heads up

Agian,
Thanks!
Easily the best tutorial on this subject. Very well done and thank you!
Perfect timing :D Just received the accel-sensors
A very concise tutorial many thanks!
The Kilpper tutorials are not Cura specific so this really helped.
I ordered a ADXL345 so I'll see how this goes.

I switched the printers over to belt drive z axis, such a huge improvement. Eliminated the z banding issue
Thank you for the clear and precise instructions!

Great tutorial, but it seems like your whole hot end assembly moves when you touch it.
Great video! Thanks! Greetings from Argentina!
I only dusted off my ender3v2 put a bluerolls blv kit on it with klipper. It's like a whole new printer.
That's an awesome upgrade. I switched my ender 3's over to dual belted z, like night and day

My apologies, I changed the link once already, and now they seem to have switched it again...
my recommended maximum accels do go over 3000... What can I do to get the printer more capable? Everything is tight and greased up

I had the same issue and just used a m6x1.0x10mm bolt in place of the nozzle. worked just the same.

Can someone explain to me what keeps the accelerometer mount from melting on the heat block?
After you get things calibrated, what have you done as far as speed settings etc. to your profile?
Why is your pla retraction so low and very different from normal pla retraction setting?
