If I had the money yes! I love regular cab trucks with a short bed. I don’t see them all that often but it’s one of my favorite utility designers because they can fit so much better into parking spaces and navigate narrow forest roads easier along with their capabilities of being a truck. bring back short bed regular cabs!
I'll second that. I feel we should all stop buying vehicles untill the prices are cut by 50% . Absolutely no call for the shameful price gouging that is going on these days. Not just vehicles either.
Trust me… They Do NOT CARE about us. I personally would go out and purchase this truck if we’re affordable. You know darn well they are not considering folks like us or the people that put them together. Great post Jaime.
Hell ya this is bad ass well we can't have a muscle car we can have a muscle truck and GMC they have the same idea and Ford I think they have a 7.3 I think in a f150 and dodge they have the RT and the Shelby truck so there is hope for the big three before the electric shit box junk
For sure i would buy one and a fleetside to go with it they both would be outstanding . Who cares that its a step side it super badass and is in PERFECT Confirmation for size shape fit and finish and the big block oh my Lord!!!!!
I love all your videos on dream cars. Thing is, even if any of the vehicles were to go into production, 99% of the population would not be able to afford them. That's why us regular guys who can twist a few wrenches and run a welder just get something old/regular and customize it ourselves.
You should come to Texas! Every truck that isn't lifted, is a stances sport truck that will drag just about any 5.0, SS, Hellcats, you name it. They are here and don't have to look hard.... Silverado or f150
I still own my 2003 Silverado SS AWD in my collection. If this one d does come to life I will def try to acquire one. Of course I’ll be waiting 20 years for my Z06 too!
For a production truck. the ride height is too low, and the stepside bed will drive up the cost. Get a std cab, short bed 2wd and slide a lightly tuned 6.6 gas engine/trans combo from the Silverado HD, drop it 2/4 and firm up the suspension (springs/shocks/sway bar). That's your home run!
Depending on the price. If it’s under $30,000. Keep it around a 3.6 liter for some towing . I don’t need the performance with that said, I would consider it.
I used to sell Chevys back in the day. Got to drive a a few of these trucks. They were more fun than the regular models but not really impressive. I felt they were not worth the price because the performance was mediocre and the body was just plain boring. Nothing really different between the SS and a normal Silverado. The new one looks pretty awesome. I don’t normally care for step sides but it looks great on this and the original lightning.
That truck concept is beautiful and I’d definitely buy one. Unfortunately if they made another SS truck it would be another 4 door ugly unsymmetric POS truck targeted for women with penis envy instead of targeting men. There is no saving GM as soon as Mary took the helm, the company was doomed. They’ll be begging for tax money again very soon, I say tell them to stuff it and figure it out on their own. That’s the only way GM will actually start to build something people actually want to buy and are willing to pay the price their asking.
Put an actual step on it like a step side should have. Other then that, that is a very gnarly looking truck, I'd probly buy one if I had an extra 100K plus sitting around.
Killer Truck I love it it looks like a tough truck and it hauls ass …I would buy one in a heart beat,,just looks and says buy me you won’t regret I promise 🙏❤️💪😃🦘🇦🇺🇺🇸☘️
I bought a brand new Chevy step side shortbed regular cab pickup in black back in 1977. I paid less than $8000 for the truck. The bed had wood slats for the floor. It came with a 350 cu V8. I added side exhausts to hear that V8 when I stomped on it. Would like to see a step side again.
Yes I would definitely buy one based on previous versions of sport trucks and their history. A lot of people that bought them drove the bag off them for a few years and then sold them for close to what they paid new. A short bed truck, fleet or step side is just a sweet truck.
Lets be honest here… the more and more these concepts continue to improve over the years, the more and more the likely chance of GM actually releasing it…. Well… you know how the story ends. We can all dream, though, right? Or just do what everyone else does with a cool sport truck. Just Build your own.
If I had the money i I buy one wine color with black inter 2 door sharp rims and a radio system that waddle the windows sliding glass back bed liner wine close seats
That concept drawing has been the first time I've liked the modern truck in ages perfectly proportioned great contrast between flat and gloss and the red accents are perfect for it 10 out of 10 I buy one as long as they weren't over 50K and it would have to come with the 4.8 with a supercharger
Better be under 50k for that outdated pushrod single cam v8. A new Whipple f150 reg cab will wax that donousaur anyway. For way less money. And no ugly ass step side bed.
Definitely a worthy design for Chevrolet's SS Badging. Never really been a fan of the Step-Side myself, however... It respectably blends that "Old School" look with the modern lines and I dig it. The truck looks aggressive & athletic like an SS should. I am a fan of that Big Block as a top tier package BUT I would hope that maybe a more affordable SBV8 SS option would also be available to help give more people a chance to afford an Iconic Bowtie.... more people as in me lol because I would love have this in my driveway but I don't want to sleep on the couch until it's paid off.
Seems like 39,900 is now considered cheap/affordable and 40's is the new norm and niceness will be mid 50's to mid 60's and of course super fine will flirt with 80 to 100k. Utterly rediculous, how do folks afford these. 40 k is a crap load to me. I make 25 hour and approx 48 to 50 hours a week with a 600 dollar house paymen and noway can I afford this. Am I making crap money? How do folks buy these honestly, anybody help me understand.
@@nimrodpaul6875 Easy! Historically low Fed rate for well over a decade combined with a massive influx of alternative financing and the rolling over of vehicle loans. In essence many consumers are simply caught in a never ending cycle of payments. That being said, if the Fed continues its inflation busting all that is going to end as every rise in the Fed rate will eliminate another block of people from loan qualification at those levels.

I would be trading both my vehicles in to buy this bad boy but I am not going to pay 120,000 for it and I suspect that is what the dealers will mark it up for.

You’ll get one dreams are meant to come true brother. Not too rub it in absolutely not but check mine out. I also wanted one ever since I saw that commercial oh so long ago.
Very nice! Though, I think the 6.6L (gas) from the heavy duty trucks and the 10-speed auto would be a better fit for a SS truck. Add boost (like to see a turbo instead of a supercharger), AWD PLEASE; tire roasting is fun and all, but when you want to go, you want to go NOW. 😁 Keep the look from the render - that is perfect - stepside and all - maybe just a bit less hood scoop for visibility reasons. I'm thinking a Silverado EV for my next purchase - was going to do a Blazer EV RS; but the interior is still too small. Not enough headroom and shoulder room. That said, I just might be enticed to the SS for the same money.
i disagree the 4l75e is a badass trans . the gm 10 speed while being sick , i dont think it will hold up as well as the 4 speed with overdrive .... its also significantly more expensive .
I would buy one if it were a SWB and not stepside. I would like to see a V8 option in the Colorado/Canyon platform like GM offered a few years back before the refresh. Seems to me a small V8 in a little chassis would be a lot of fun. Although big cubes in a full side SWB would be pretty badass as well.

Would love to own such a thing like this, I’ve been begging Gm for over year to make me something at least close to this but they are not willing to do that at any cost but I’m hoping at some point they do that cuz it would be amazing specially 4x4 AWD with over 800hp to roast the Shelby owners 😂
What a beautiful truck!! I love the Stepside Box. I had an 03 GMC Sierra Regular Cab Short Box Stepside. I absolutely loved that truck. This truck looks absolutely Bad Ass!!
I got one of the first 1988 Sport Sides when they came out. Loved that truck, although mine was a 4x4, so of course it got lifted. I would definitely consider that SS!

Been buying Fords since the late 80s, but I would definitely take a shot on this bow tie .
Step side. Yes tudor absolutely perfect track please build it
that needs to be built!!! HOT TRUCK!!!!
I think Chevy can build a trx and raptor competitor by using the the engine in the ZL1 Camaros putting out around the same power that would be dope
Without a doubt I would buy. The look is totally badass.
I always hated modern pickups in stepside but would be 100% OK with this one.
If they do build it, the price will be astronomical!

No that have gone crazy with the prices on trucks I'll never buy a new one again

Hell yea I would buy one, tired of the "off road" theme. Can't really go to "Mexico" with a off road truck.
