    Whenever someone consistently backfists, I bob and counter with an overhand so their own momentum causes them to crash into the punch. Once they see what I'm doing, I'll usually telegraph a slow backfist so they try to do the same thing to me, but I'll turn it into a spinning back kick instead, usually getting them right in their (now lowered) face. Always gently, of course! Haven't injured a training partner yet. But I always get a bunch of ''ooieeee's'' after both of those tricks haha

    Nice. Another good one I love using is setting up the opponent with a simple double jab or 1-2 combo that they can slip. Then another jab followed by the spinning backfist -- which they slip right into off the jab, making the collision worse. 💥

    Good advice to keep your palms down. If your fist has the thumb up and hit the target with your elbow 1st, bad things will happen.
    Which is why it is important to get your sites on the target before you strike.

      @Elton Saliu???

    • @jeanjosephgulac3078

      @Amrit Goraya yes it is prohibited since the general rules of boxing is to hit your opponent with the knuckles of your fist and generally boxing rules prevent striking with the bottomfist and forearm which the spinning backfist uses.

    Good Job Son though the pause in 2nd one shouldn't be needed if u stepped through more and hit with power swrmipe through their guard. Ur doing tag way not KO way u should spin farther step deeper into other stance and can throw cross and high kick after one fluid motion. Watch my 3 tricky spinning backfists and cluster system vids

    Hey Jeff i got a question, is leaning back in sparing a good thing or should i rather try avoiding it?

    • @MMAShredded
      @MMAShredded  3 года назад +1

      its great for boxing, but in Muay Thai or MMA, you have to worry about low kicks or takedowns. I still lean back a lot, but as long as you don't repeat the same pattern, you should be okay. If you are always leaning back, your opponent will adapt !

    I also really Like the backfist but more like a Hammerfrist followed with a Hook or overhead. Just Like No.2. But i don't Like no.3. a few Sparring Partners tried exactly this and we Had no MMA rulez. The back of the head was so open for a counter or, choke and the knees Open for a Kick from behind.
