I had my first fight this weekend. needless to say i took alot of unneccessary damage, my clinch work & sweeps won me the fight. New fighters, Drill these until they become instinctual. & dont drop your hands like i did... good luck fighters & be safe 🙏
This is perfect. A brief demonstration, sparring footage, and then the move and effects in action. All while breaking it down with great narration. As a novice mma student, I love it
"Counterattacking is a subtle art, safer to the man using it and more damaging to his opponent" The highest technique is to have no technique. My technique is a result of your technique. My movement is a result of your movement. Remember , the efficienty of every counterattack comes down to your mind , dont crack under pressure and be calm allways , when you are determined to move , do it with no doubt or fear , apply the most dangerous weapon as fast as you can to the most vulnerable target. Love your channel
All of your training videos are truely a blessing to all of us and over the years I have very much appreciated them. They have greatly enhanced my students' training. Love these sparring drills (I was a pro kick boxing fighter for many years PKA, WKA first full contact organizations in the United States. Trained with Ajarn Chai Sirisute, Guro Dan Inosanto and many others as well as boxed pro.), but head shots what we know today should be lighter because you really don't get used to it. Yea, med school taught me that. :) Finally, don't hit a lil kid in the head so hard for your lead on the video 😆. Obviously you need to have taken on the chin a few times but that is enough. Your chin only gets worse with each min-concussion. So, hard and even medium head shots in sparring sessions reduces your ability to resist getting knocked out in real fights. Head guards don't help either but they do reduce the chance of getting cut. Also, more ring time with the glove size you will be using in the ring. Again, without hard shots to the head. Using oversize gloves in sparring all the time actually changes your proprioception in attack and defense. You may be too young to appreciate this advice yet. Think migraines or C.T.E. (dirty lil secret of MMA) in later life. 🥋🥊Have fun and thanks for the great advice you give the martial arts community.
Drill 1: Liver kick when opponent throws right punch or moves forward Drill 2: Low kick as opponent steps forward Drill 3: Cross SIMULTANEOUSLY as opponent low kicks Drill 4: When kicked, kick back Drill 5: Dutch Block: Counter with rear low kick to rear leg Drill 6: Catch kick: Counter with cross, throw leg, and kick Drill 7: The counter cross when opponent moves forward or throws a LEFT punch Drill 8: Caridge block left hook: Counter with rear uppercut, hook, cross
What i really like about Jeff 's style is that he is a muay thai stylist, but not the typcal very planted type of muay thai guy that doesn't throw combos and doesn't have volume, he has great footwork, head movement and combos in his muay thai style, also his boxing has goten so much better over the years, he is so sharp with his boxing combos now
MMAShredded so hi again😂 really wanted to say thanks cos I JUST HAD ONE OF MY BEST sparring sessions ever (I just started a couple like 8 weeks ago lol) but I was doing really well😂😂

watched the free tactics videos and loved them. Plan to purchase the MMA Striker program in begin working through these with my sons. Thanks for all your hard work. I can feel that this program will help me progress much faster than I would be able to progress on my own.
The kick kickback is one of ,y favorite counters. In Muay Thai we do kickplay and this specific counter is what sort of created the countering high volume style I spar with today.
The well timed left body kick under the right straight is a potential fight finisher, if someone can get good at it without the switch and just turning it over from orthodox then it’s less telegraphed
Finding so many gems in the last week... Definitely one of the top 5 best kickboxing advice videos I've ever seen even tho it's so basic... But my dude... Your kicks are perfect... No telegraph... So sneaky...aaaaahhhhh!! Fuckin beautiful
bro do more research this is not even top 50 material and also the OP needs to work his hip rotation on his kicks very amateurish style and mistakes sorry to be negative but just pointing out facts this is the kind of stuff you do and use in a cardio kickboxing class
Jeff my bro, I've definitely been indoctrinated with your methods. I have that "when in doubt, throw a leg kick" method with all my combos. I love that Dutch block step up.
MMA Shredded i realised that a lot of these counters resonate well with my fight style(i throw way too many low kicks for my own good and im a counter fighter). Definitely going to drill these in before my next fight thanks a lot!
Those counters work great for orthodox vs orthodox stances, please do a similar video for peeps of a different preferential stance e.g orthy vs southy/ southy vs orthy
I absolutely love your videos! They are super helpful and thoroughly explained. The one thing I struggle most with is the pressure a better/taller/heavier fighter can put on me by rushing in. It's not like I don't know what to do but my body doesn't want to because I'm so frightened by the attack, at least if my opponent really hurts me. Do you have any advice on how to work on improving in that regard; how to become mentally stronger to not back up but counter instead?
I have no secret answer besides to do it (counter). Focus on that one thing every time you spar, you will get better. It comes with time and experience. You already know what you need to do... just do it bro!! But the truth is, a taller/better/heavier fighter is going to beat you.. it wouldn't make sense for you to beat a BETTER and bigger fighter right? But it will make you come out stronger and be able to handle that kind of beating. The next opponent will be nothing to you!
Thanks a lot for the quick answer! To focus on just one particular thing might help me to react offensivley rather than curling up behind my guard. Thank you again for the encouraging advice!
Can you do a vid on proper kicking form for Thai Kicks? I see many people do then do differently I just want to know when I should lean back or forward while throwing my kick and just how much to open up. I always open my hips until they feel “stretched” and I always lean into my kicks. If I can learn a new trick I ought to even if it doesn’t really match my style of fighting
Starting my own channel as well soon and will spread the little things that i can do to help MMA fighters. I come from Ido Portal's Movement Culture and will share my thoughts of Movement for MMA ^^ You are an inspiration for me brother. I hope we work together one day.

that's amazing man, congratulations and keep it up!
that backup/pull to cross counter is so effective it's ridiculous, especially against noobs.
yeah!
Paradox xodarap I’m a noob and I’m gonna try it out lol.
I like to pretend to be a noob and play off that narrative! Works for a minute! Then he suddenly seems to know.whats up!
