Head movement, foot work is much better than taking the impact of a heavy weight. Jeff!!!!! I love your darting right cross....simple....safe and deadly
Jeff, you are an inspiration. I have beat methadone through martial arts and repaired some injuries through proper training. Your videos have been a staple of learning the past 2 years. Thank you for all of your hard work helping us understand specific techniques.
Some of my fave counters: - Jab with the jab (while slipping right if opponent has more reach). - left inside/right lowkick the lead leg to their jab. Time it on their step. When they plant foot, they can't check (this is also from Jeff he did it to a taller opponent in an amateur fight)
Been on a shredded binge recently and absolutely loving the content! Especially the cross low kick works like a charm in sparring 😂 Please come to Taiwan again!! 🥊
Jeff you’ve also got lethal hands and good knowledge of boxing skills to go pro. You would be able to compete at a very high level of professional boxing.
Thank you very much Jeff ! Amazing video ! But can I understand better the 2. please ? I mean it's not 100% an inside slip, it's also a lean back. And it's not 100% a simple straight cross, but also kind of an overhand. I hope you get my point because I want to understand it in details because it seems really really effective ! I think it deserves a full video just for this specific yet vital counter. Thanks brother, all love :)
I’ve been doing Muay Thai for a little over a month so I’m not allowed to spar yet but your videos are amazing and make me feel like I might actually have a chance once I start lol
That’s great man! Every good, modern gym should do that. I came up in a different time and it was more difficult to learn. It’s great that people are getting it right now.
@@Macreadysshack part of me wishes I could spar because I feel like I’d learn quickly doing that but part of me is also glad I have to actually learn more before I’m allowed to be in that situation
@@RealNaisuCinema That excitement is great! In my experience, in the begining, sparring is mostly about training composure. It is very important to start out very light and slow. If you want to learn fast, you’ll want to juuust almost lose your composure but not quite every sparring session. That requires very good sparring partners. Losing composure means taking your eyes off opponent by closing your eyes or turning your head away from strikes. It happens to everyone at first. Your bandwidth gets overloaded because you’re not used to that much (or that kind of ) traffic. It’s important to stay excited because you have to make a home in that discomfort until you almost never feel it anymore. Just my $.02! I wish you the best, my friend!
downloaded, this is gold.. you make it look so easy and elegant👏🙋🇨🇿where should I be looking to be able to slip on time, you look like you do it at the same time as oponent throws, one time I think you sliped before and waited for him to throw😳.. mind boggles.. and congrats to your black belt👏
Thanks for the nice and effective counter punching tips. I hope you can already show your sparring video with Ramsey Dewey. I already see a clip on this video.
This is so useful, coach. Thanks. One question: I have a very short reach with a shorter arm; how should I modify these to work for me as demonstrated working for you, coach.
man u look fun to spar, I like fighters that know how to spar without going to hard, fighters need to realize you learn more in a 50% power range than going 80 to 100 all the time.
I never use a check hook like that. I only counter a jab with a left hook if I slip to the outside and throw the left hook at the same time. But mostly for jabs I parry it down with my rear hand and come over the top with a cross using the same hand I parry the jab with
Jeff's like "here's the moves I use the most and they're all moves that will get you knocked the fuck out unless you're me and just insanely talented" 😂😂
bro utilizing some of these slips in southpaw is gonna fuck people in my gym UP!!!! Thank you Jeff, as always your content is as enjoyable as it is educational!
Thanks coach! I saw your counter to the inside low kick, I'm going to practice that in class next. I have a lot of problems dealing with that move and my knee is a bit fucked up because of an ancient injury, I would love to see more options to defend or counter that move. Love your videos!
You still manage to find useful amount of info from clips couple years ago. Also at 1:07 can you go into more examples of “breaking rules” I noticed above average fighters like to include this into their own style. Banger vid per usual🔥🔥🔥
I Can't imagine the amount of time that it takes to find every single take for each tip. Very dedicated job, thanks mate !
thank you for watching!
Right? It must be a crazy amount of work. I’m glad they do it!
I love how you are able to articulate your game plan in such a concise and understandable way
thank you!
I love watching your videos, you make everything look so smooth. I just started training again and watching these makes me want to spar non stop.
thank you!!
Same here!
Tip for video: tactics used by Patrício Pitbull
cheers!
To be fair that’s more of a request than a tip lol

The type of video that helps you get better! Amazing vid Jeff thx

The check hook is so good! I feel like its one of the easiest ways to wobble someone with their own momentum.
:)
100% check hook is a worker
Jeff you’ve also got lethal hands and good knowledge of boxing skills to go pro. You would be able to compete at a very high level of professional boxing.

A lot of this makes me more cerebral with my punches I would work on these counters instinctively but didn’t know why but now i know as a boxer
Thx Sensai for sharing your experience 🙏 keep ongoing with that very good stuff 🥊
thanks for watching!
Your channel is a perfect source for practical tips🥊🥊
Thank you!
The first 3 are also my most used! Great tips. Love this guy

Great video btw
thanks for your support!
Could you please make a video on how I can better integrate TKD style hook kicks or turning hook kicks into an mma environment?
Thanks coach! I saw your counter to the inside low kick, I'm going to practice that in class next. I have a lot of problems dealing with that move and my knee is a bit fucked up because of an ancient injury, I would love to see more options to defend or counter that move. Love your videos!

I can def make a "rule breaking" video! I like that idea!
thank you!!!
slip inside and cross is not super dangeros for anything with legs and knees involved?
I tend to favor #4 as well
cheers!
Excelente 👏🏿👏🏿
thx!!
Is the left (beginning of the video) thrown with the fist horizontal and a hook ish motion? If you know what i mean lol
Happy Saturday 😁👋
happy Saturday!!

I love trading a low kick to land a cross. Deters more leg kicks.
