Hmmm. I don't think melee weapons would be a good choice for zombies. You really don't want to get that close. A Katana would have to be cleaned and sharpened if used often, and will have to be oiled on a regular basis regardless, which, in a zombie apocalypse, would extremely inconvenient. The Boarspear is the only melee weapon that would really be effective in my opinion, since it's a much more long range weapon. Possibly a Tomahawk as well, because in the event that you are forced into close range combat, an axe type weapon will still be very effective even if it's completely dull.
But what about when ammunition runs out? What if i need to take a zombie out silently? What about your other survival needs that involve a blade? A boarspear would still have to be maintained as well as an axe.eventually, rounds will run out and melee weapons will have to be used. I'll play. A shotgun (looks like 5+1) as your ideal zombie weapon? Since you intend it as use up close, you could easily get swarmed. You don't need a powerful impact to shoot zombies in the head. An AR-15 with multiple 30 round magazines would be much better. It's about the same size as your pistol grip shotgun, has a faster rate of fire and reloads faster. All you need is a head shot. Shotguns intimidate people, not zombies. With that in mind, I'd go for a 14+ round semi-auto. Unless you've been dragging your hand gun through the mud then left it in the rain overnight, a good semi-auto will fire each time.
Tom Lee As someone who used an M4 in Iraq, I'd have to disagree with a shotgun being "much more durable and reliable." Also, if you're talking about scavenging shotgun ammo from a gun store or Walmart, you'd better get there early on. They'll be picked over for everything, but especially 9mm, .22, .223, 5.56 and 12/20 gauge ammo. Also, in this thought experiment, if you're being swarmed by a zombie horde, would you rather try to fight your way out with a 5+1 shotgun or with a high-capacity semi-auto/30-round AR? Remember, it just takes a head shot. You don't have to blow the head clean off.
Yeah i always thought that my mossberg would last me many years of constant shooting and just being in an apocalyptic situation compared to my AR. I agree that against a horde u want an AR but I would rather just run away than fight my way out (of course there are so many different factors to this).
I would find the pistol to be the zombie weapon, light concealable, plenty of rounds and magazines. Your long arm is your hunter and general defense. that being said my pick is the sks hard hitting round for larger game, and enemies behind cover. Of course the .22 for the small stuff.
Ruger 10/22 over an AR in my opinion, you don't need the power of a .556 to pop a skull, they make 25 round mags for 22, but magazines run out you may have 1000+ rounds don't do you any good with 10 magazines, so an 870 just to eliminate the carrying of magazines. Reloading may be faster but like I said 1000 rounds do you no good with 10 magazines

I think a baseball bat is a underrated zombie weapon. Can bash skulls no problem and you don't have to worry about it getting stuck in a body. Would take my slugger and reinforce it with metal bands to ensure it holds up. I also think light armor would go a long way against a zombie attack. Just something to shield from a bight. There are plenty of resources. Take some wood and a few baking sheets and your a fuckin tank. Idk y its fun to think up emergency plans for a scenario that will never happen lol.

As long as it is a certified suppressor it will still work without that particular ammo. A suppressor does not lose all of it's practicality without subsonic rounds. However, subsonic rounds without a suppressor do very little to deaden the noise of a shot, because there still is the sound of the explosion of the gunpowder. It would still be quieter than supersonic rounds without a suppressor.

1. Ar15 with a 22lr conversation kit so you can shoot 22 and 5.56. Both light ammo. 2. A good big fixed blade knife not bowie size but still big. 3. A fire starting kit with several different fire starting options. 4. A good stainless steel water bottle and nesting cup set. 5. A good medium size backpack with a good size wool blanket inside. I know someone is going to say some things on that list are multiple items not just 1. Well. You shoes are 1 item your socks are 1 item. Pants shirt jacket all 1 item. Even if you count them as a set its still 1 item. So i did sets.
Good choice of shotgun, you might wanna get a 9mm backup weapon as well, and for the shotgun get a stock with shell holders, that comes in handy so you don't have to dig through your pockets. A good choice for blades is a tomahawk type axe, fast, light, easy to sharpen, made for hitting skulls (It's not gonna dull as quick). For books you want books that make you think and the ZSG. Never would have thought of the hot sauce, damn good idea. My team of survivors is gonna look you up when it hits the fan.
Id personally prefer my 590A1 with 8+1 capacity, and 20 inch barrel, a hatchet, fire starters of multiple kids, also choose books to keep myself occupied, and finally, a nice large backpack to carry lots of stuff in.

Ruger 10/22 with scope and silencer, sawn off shotgun (double barrel, pump or lever action), crowbar, hunting knife, map/compass, and flint and steel The Ruger to pop off zombies from longer ranges so i stay safe and some small game hunting. It's really quiet and carrying 3 thousand rounds of .22 is like carrying 100 shotgun shells. Plus the Ruger is a really common gun with with numerous mods and spare parts and the .22 being the most mass-produced cartridge in America. And .22 is just powerful enough to pierce a skull while not powerful to escape the other side, resulting in a scrambled brains as the bullet bounces in the skull. Use the crowbar for breaking into homes or stores for looting and smash in skulls and windows. Being a solid piece of steel, it's really difficult to dull or break. and the rest should be self-explanatory.

Water filter and/or water purification tabs? You can make fire and boil water, but that takes some time. .22LR or .22 Magnum pistol allows you to carry far more rounds for the weight of the ammo. Also, faster reloads, if you have multiple magazines. If you like revolvers, a lot of .22LR pistols are 9-shot. A .22 pistol is also lighter to carry and only requires one hand. You could also hunt with it and not destroy the game as much as you would with a 12ga shotgun. A .22LR/.22 Mag is also more controllable, and give you some stand-off distance. Just a thought.
I'd say a Tin Can is one of the best and most unexpected items to bring. U need a vessel to drink water out of. Tin can works perfect and when clean water runs out u can boil water in it.
NEVER bring canned food into a zombie apocalypse, it just slows you down. (i would suggest bringing vegetables, and chicken in a clear plastic ziplock bag)
I would personally pack some slugs. It would be hard to aim with the no-stock version of the gun. So, I would also have a stock on it. Also, the slug has (arguably) more stopping power but defiantly more range than buck. And if they hear you, you defiantly need range.

- Case of water
- Case/box of MREs
- Dual Machetes (not shitty ones, don't know an exact blade yet)
- Few boxes of 12 gauge shells, but my family in a whole has enough ammo for 20 years. (all preppers/hunters)

I think a baseball bat is a underrated zombie weapon. Can bash skulls no problem and you don't have to worry about it getting stuck in a body. Would take my slugger and reinforce it with metal bands to ensure it holds up.
I also think light armor would go a long way against a zombie attack. Just something to shield from a bight. There are plenty of resources. Take some wood and a few baking sheets and your a fuckin tank. Idk y its fun to think up emergency plans for a scenario that will never happen lol.

KOEKIEJAM Absolutely. And doesn't need to be anything fancy. Just a bandanna and some safety goggles would do pretty well. Also depending on the type outbreak and how the virus spreads you would want to take precautions accordingly.

As long as it is a certified suppressor it will still work without that particular ammo. A suppressor does not lose all of it's practicality without subsonic rounds. However, subsonic rounds without a suppressor do very little to deaden the noise of a shot, because there still is the sound of the explosion of the gunpowder. It would still be quieter than supersonic rounds without a suppressor.
You can still use an empty zippo to create fire. It produces sparks.

revolver makes sense. automatic and semi automatic fire arms usually will run out of ammo fast where as you are more aware with any type of actions that requires a little more work

your talking about a magazinr thats what holds rounds, ALL pump action shotguns store ammo ina tubne magazine thats not removable, so no...some semi automatic shotguns accept extreneral magazines and yes you can purchase ones that hold more rounds, such as a saiga 12g thats a AK47 platform that shoots 12g slugs and can accept 15 round mags or a 25rd drum mag

1. Ar15 with a 22lr conversation kit so you can shoot 22 and 5.56. Both light ammo. 2. A good big fixed blade knife not bowie size but still big. 3. A fire starting kit with several different fire starting options. 4. A good stainless steel water bottle and nesting cup set. 5. A good medium size backpack with a good size wool blanket inside.
I know someone is going to say some things on that list are multiple items not just 1. Well. You shoes are 1 item your socks are 1 item. Pants shirt jacket all 1 item. Even if you count them as a set its still 1 item. So i did sets.

Good choice of shotgun, you might wanna get a 9mm backup weapon as well, and for the shotgun get a stock with shell holders, that comes in handy so you don't have to dig through your pockets. A good choice for blades is a tomahawk type axe, fast, light, easy to sharpen, made for hitting skulls (It's not gonna dull as quick). For books you want books that make you think and the ZSG. Never would have thought of the hot sauce, damn good idea. My team of survivors is gonna look you up when it hits the fan.

I do really like your machete choice, if I couldn't get my hands on a short spear, framing hammer or a trench knife I would really like one of those.

Id personally prefer my 590A1 with 8+1 capacity, and 20 inch barrel, a hatchet, fire starters of multiple kids, also choose books to keep myself occupied, and finally, a nice large backpack to carry lots of stuff in.

You READ the Zombie Survival Guide and you pick a close-range gun that will alert all zombies in a 5 km radius and a 40 cm long blade? .... *sigh*

Ruger 10/22 with scope and silencer, sawn off shotgun (double barrel, pump or lever action), crowbar, hunting knife, map/compass, and flint and steel
The Ruger to pop off zombies from longer ranges so i stay safe and some small game hunting. It's really quiet and carrying 3 thousand rounds of .22 is like carrying 100 shotgun shells. Plus the Ruger is a really common gun with with numerous mods and spare parts and the .22 being the most mass-produced cartridge in America. And .22 is just powerful enough to pierce a skull while not powerful to escape the other side, resulting in a scrambled brains as the bullet bounces in the skull.
Use the crowbar for breaking into homes or stores for looting and smash in skulls and windows. Being a solid piece of steel, it's really difficult to dull or break. and the rest should be self-explanatory.

i agree with you know, when i said that i just purchased my first pistol grip for my mossberg 12 gauge and i though it was the shit then. but after i shot it a bunch and then switched it back to the regular stock its obvious that the full stock is better all around.

Water filter and/or water purification tabs? You can make fire and boil water, but that takes some time.
.22LR or .22 Magnum pistol allows you to carry far more rounds for the weight of the ammo. Also, faster reloads, if you have multiple magazines. If you like revolvers, a lot of .22LR pistols are 9-shot. A .22 pistol is also lighter to carry and only requires one hand. You could also hunt with it and not destroy the game as much as you would with a 12ga shotgun. A .22LR/.22 Mag is also more controllable, and give you some stand-off distance.
Just a thought.

I'd say a Tin Can is one of the best and most unexpected items to bring. U need a vessel to drink water out of. Tin can works perfect and when clean water runs out u can boil water in it.

NEVER bring canned food into a zombie apocalypse, it just slows you down. (i would suggest bringing vegetables, and chicken in a clear plastic ziplock bag)
I would personally pack some slugs. It would be hard to aim with the no-stock version of the gun. So, I would also have a stock on it. Also, the slug has (arguably) more stopping power but defiantly more range than buck. And if they hear you, you defiantly need range.
I would take a remington acr 6.8, a remington 800 12 gauge, a longsword, flint, and books. I have fire power and fire as well as the tools.
If I could get an AA-12 I would choose that over your pick of a gun. More ammo. Less recoil. Automatic.

im in the same position as you all you have to do is plan on what you want in the near future like weapons and other equipment and all you can do now is gather up stuff around your house that your parents dont use , thats what i do but its kinda hard when your parents think your becoming crazy but just follow your goal and prepare for anything that may come
