This is a good idea! Here's a tip from someone who used to build theater sets and props: wood glue is STRONG. Instead of hot gluing the jenga pieces, I would sand them a little bit, then use wood glue and clamp them overnight, propped up somehow so that if any glue seeped out the sides it wouldn't glue it to your table.
That's awesome insider info! Thanks, Michelle!
How am I just now seeing this??!?? Probably because I'm just now needing this! Now I've got my Saturday craft! 😁 Pffft... and I was gonna vacuum! 😬
Tsk. Vacuuming is so overrated. LOL Crafting is where it's at!!!!! I love this little holder still! It's held up great! Just make sure you measure as you go.... those cases are not as universally sized as one would think. (or the blocks aren't.) ;)
Ingenious!!! I like the suggestion April Drust had for creating a wider board with space for the dauber. You could even go further and widen it enough to put a piece of metal strip length-wise, then stamp a round or square self-stick label & adhere to matching shape blank magnet, then put the corresponding magnet next to each stamp pad. This way as you add/move the pads you can move the corresponding magnet. This idea can be expanded on using any size board to become as detailed as you want (i.e. color blending/blocking samples etc).
Wow! Great suggestions, Roxanne! I love sharing these ideas and then watching as you amazing minds expand and improve upon them! Thanks sharing!
Hi friend, thank you for this video. Awesome DIY. TFS. LOVE & HUGS. 💜💜💜
Thank you so much 🤗
And I store everything in rainbow order! Rainbows make me smile! 🥰
ME TOO!
Great idea! Now an idea for my punches!
I'm working on it!
To label your colors, I would take the small dots as they use for pricing at yard sales and such in white. If larger than the front lip, cut it in half, stamp with the color and apply. That way you can see at a glance what the color is.
Great tip!
This is a genius idea . It takes up little room & you can make as many as you need . Thank you for sharing.
I'm so glad you liked it! Thanks for watching!
Wonderful! And, doesn't take up much wall space. That's the big thing around here.....wall space. I love it!!
So true!
Love this idea. Now I need to find room on 1 of my walls lol
Hot glue users: find yourself some silicone thimbles. You can also find silicone tipped tweezers. It can take the heat, and the glue with just peel right off when cooled.
Great tip!!! Thanks!
Wow! Awesome idea. I might try that. Thank you.
Great idea! I sort mine by color family and I used a tiny label, wrote the ink color name, and inked the label with the ink, then stuck to the front. Made life so much easier haha
That's a great idea! Thanks, Laura!
Oohhh. Stephanie Barnards STAMPS OF LIFE INK!!! It’s awesome ink!! Great project. Love the word art!! ETA: Stephanie has new ink pads out now.. I think they might be bigger. I took a tiny heart stamp and stamped on sticker sheets the color and stuck them to the end of mine for reference.
Oh thank you! I love that idea!
HOLY GEMOLI, Norinne! WHAT A COOL IDEA! So many ways to use this FABULOUS IDEA to create, organize n’ decorate your Craft Room!!! CLEVER! Art n’ Usefulness rolled into one! :-). GREAT n’ HELPFUL VIDEO! TFS n’ HAPPY CREATIN’ n’ ORGANIZIN’ n’ TIPPIN’! :-) Sending SMILES from Madison, WI! :-). (I’ve been behind on my video watching w/you~~~:-(((~~ and I KNOW there are tons of “goodies” from you which I’m going to have to “binge” (haha!) or “spread out” in viewing! Thank you again! :-)
Thanks, Judith!!! So glad you liked it 🌺
Great idea. And it looks great. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching!
I put my stamp pads in alphabetical order in my stacking trays. But, all mine are also labeled with my label maker, too.
Very good design Noreen. Tfs
Thank you, Bonnie!
Thank you for directing me to this video!
It's help up GREAT! Let me know if you make it! :)
Very clever!!! Thanks!
Very cute idea!
This method would be perfect to use on the tiny space of wall between two doors or the wall space between a window and a corner or cabinet. I have collected several wooden music cassette holders to store my ink pads; most are just too big and I feel may not be the best use of my sparse wall space. That is why I also don't hang up my peg board. I saw an idea and can't remember who to give the credit for it; buy a thrifted mini ironing board usually for just a couple $$ with a wire grid under the pad, (be sure to check becase many have pressboard), take off the pad, paint the metal parts if you like and hang it on a wall verticle or horizontal and use hooks to hang a lot of different items. Hooks holding a wood dowel could hold ribbon or tapes. I found a real skinny one and two normal mini ones which won't take up much space but will hold a lot! I haven't figured out where to put them yet or I would send a picture. One has a way to hang it from a wire shelf unit on its side which won't take up any precious wall space!
Yay! So glad I could help!!!
I have a cassette tape organizer that I plan on spray painting for ink pad storage.
That will work great!
I been watching you maybe a yr or so. I like things you make or do. I take digital label marker.take pencil eraser of your rubber stamp pad of your pad color then I use The dollar tree packing tape.you can see the color you need.plus I do go to dollar tree get adhesive back labels.around back to school time. I digital labels I take separate the paper goes in the labels I don't take the sticky back off I slide it on like storage cart .I leave back of the label on .I leave adhesive with white cardstock .if I change mind I'm not messing up white cardstock.I used to handwriting label then packing tape over it .I'm crazy crafter x mess ink on my hands wipe off label clean.I use both ways hopefully it helps y'all.😀✏💟☺ x happy crafting😀
So smart, Becky!!!! Thanks for the great ideas and the support over the last year. 💜
Easy versatile idea
Great thanks. I use my bro label maker to mark everything!
Great idea!! Thanks a bunch for sharing your creativity!
You are so welcome!
Love this board! I know you are a great one for Quotes. Maybe you could stamp each pad color on a slim piece of paper with an inspiring word, attach to edge of pad, then cover with modge podge. Thank you for sharing all your creative ideas.
Love that!
You are so brilliant! Regarding labeling the various ink pads, you could take the ink and apply it directly to paper and then either cut out a strip the width and height of side of ink pad and attach it (or just punch out a small dot and adhere). I always store my ink pads in rainbow order, from light to dark, ie mint green followed by dark green. What I have heard about storing ink pads up, down, or sideways, is that it depends on what the 'pad' is made of, ie is it felt or sponge. Tim Holtz claims that his felt pads and all felt pads can be stored either way. Regarding sponge ink pads, the only way I would store them is up, like the way you have them shown in the video (but perhaps storing them upside down is another option but I would investigate this further). Thanks Norrine!
Thanks for the great info, Nancy!!!! I have generic pads - they are old but still work really well. LOL
Very creative. Awesome 👏
Thanks a lot 😊
Address Labels! I sramp my ink color onto regular white address labels, then cut them lengthwise into thin strips and stick them to the outside edges of the lid. I made a stamp pad holder using foam core board a couple years back, and have my ink pads slid in with the short side exposed, so only needed short strips for each end, but a regular address label would be plenty long for the longer sides. And I'VE BEEN LOOKING FOR THOSE JENGA BLOCK SETS FOR AGES! I hope I can find some soon. Thanks for being you, and always having such a positive attitude.
Want me to grab a few and send them to you??? My store is NOT one of the good ones... yet even they always have them in stock!
@@TheCraftyOrganizer I would LOVE that. But they probably cost more to ship than they do to purchase. LOL Honestly, I'd reimburse you!
Great idea Noreen! I don't have stamp pads but I want to incorporate this for some of my craft supplies. My brain is spinning.
Let me know how you incorporate it!!! :)
Great job
Love the shell game!
Lovely 💞🦋🌷
Another great idea Norrine! Glad you added at the end about the little square stamp pads because I have a few of them so a little basket would look cute on there! I was told to store my stamp pads upside down, that the ink would last longer. Thank you for sharing!
I just learned that about 45 seconds ago! LOL The comments are a wealth of information! 😍
Cool idea!
omg the ice cream bit had me rolling! That's exactly what I would do...
Very cool!
Brilliant idea!
Thank you! Cheers!
Another great idea!
Thanks, Barbara! 🌞🌻💛
As always, a great idea! Thanks!
Thanks, Cass! 😊
Great idea and economic! Thanks for sharing.
You are so welcome!
Awesome idea. Thanks for sharing!
You are so welcome!
Cute idea! I organize my colored products (paper mostly) by the Rainbow method (ROY G BIV) followed by black/white, naturals, and Metallics.
That's what I ended up doing too! Great minds think alike! :)
Very clever, I love it.
Thank you!
another great project!!
Thank you! 🌺
This is simply brilliant! I go by earth tones, soft subtles, brilliants, and vibrant. Thank you for sharing!
I love learning all of the different sorting styles! Thanks for watching and commenting!
Use a marks a lot and mark on the side the color. I have an old library case that I use for my stamp pads.
Cute.
love this idea, I am thinking of using a wider board and using same technique and putting lil ledges next to each stamp pad to hold the ink dobbers that goes with each pad, and love idea of lil basket for the mini ink pads as well. thank you for inspirations.
That's a great idea! Let me know how that goes if you are able to incorporate the ink dabbers!!!
Love to se how that works too.
Great idea - see your mention in my comment 💙💜❤
Or you could add Velcro dots next to each one and attach dabber ends if you have that kind!
Very cool idea!
Thank you!
Great idea. Works really well. I use the standard ROY G BIV then neutrals. I use a colored drawer system as I have mini pads.
Great tip! Thanks, Hazel!
Love this!!!!
To put colour labels on your ink pads,
use a label maker strip,
swipe the colour onto the label,
stick to the side of the ink pad
Thanks, Firey367!
Thank you for sharing
Thanks for watching!
That is so cool....I love it....I like the phrase too...🤗
Thank you 🤗
Great idea! I will use my label maker to label colors..love the idea of the lil basket on top! Thank u..
Great idea!
Great idea! 🐞💚🐝💙🦋💜
Thank you! 😊
Great idea
Thank you! 😊
Love this...tyfs. looks easy enough.
It is! And, you can't beat the price!
Great idea!
Glad you think so! Thanks for watching, Nimue!
You probably watched White Cottage Co update. I like the way she made a backdrop for one of her cabinets
using those L brackets as feet to hold it up.llike something you would do. She makes me tired just watching her, lol♥️
I love Mary! I want to live in one of her sheds! LOL
@@TheCraftyOrganizer I want the new shop on the hill!!♥️
I love this idea. I had noticed it on some of your other videos and was wondering how you did it. You are really creative. Thank You for all of your Brilliant Ideas !!!
Thanks so much! 😊
Love it.. I'd put the color on the front so I could just grab without reading or picking.i have the small squares and tear drop shape inks. Thanks for sharing..
Great idea!
Loving this idea for my move!! 😍
So glad!
Love this idea
Thank you! 😊
Great idea, I always store my ink pads upside down. And I’m thinking that if you made it a little wider you could label on the side next to the pads.
Good point!
Norreen! You’re a genius and my FAVE source of inspiration!!!!! I store my ink pads by color basics. All the reds (for example),from darkest on bottom to lightest on top, in vertical turntable storage towers... from Stampin Up. Called Color Caddies. Not made any longer. I love them, small footprint for a zillion Ink pads! Alas, completely full. I’ll employ your method for other brands of pads👏👍👏💕👏. Also, I use a small solid image stamp, stamp it in each ink color o a good weight white card stock as a swatch. Sometimes I cut a short strip of the swatch to adhere to the side or end of the ink pad lid. Sometimes I use a regular office hole punch to get a dot from the swatch to put on side and/or end of pad lid. I also use the swatch dot glued to top of ink refill bottles so I do t have to search through and read labels. This system has been working fabulously for me... for about 12 years now.
Thanks, Norreen, for another great idea from start to finish. ESPECIALLY for keeping the small fail in the video. I find it easier to learn from a mistake I can see.
I do too! So glad I could help. :)
I love this!!! While watching I thought that this would also be a perfect holder for my large block rubber stamps. The basket will hold all of my smaller ones perfectly. I can't wait to make these!!!
You are so creative, Norrine!! Thank you for sharing this idea!!
Great idea!! And PERFECT for your new space!!!!!
Be careful the shelf doesn't test on the stamp it may compress it
I keep my stamp pads in alphabetical order. Love your creative ideas.
Cool idea
Thanks!
Totally love this idea! Thank you!, 💕
I'm so glad!!! Thanks for watching 🌞💛🌻
This is fantastic! Thank you for sharing your creations. ❤❤
I found your videos today. I’m thrilled to discover that you created this ink pad storage system. I don’t like clutter but I have medical issues that have impaired my memory, so it’s easier if I can actually see what I have. This idea takes care of both, so does the rain gutter system that I watched earlier!! I can’t wait to show both of them to my daughter!!!
I also organize items in rainbow order when ever possible. As for labeling them, I use white 3x5” cards to cut strips, color the strip with the item, such as ink, colored pencil, etc. Then I attach the strip to the item with the clear, shiny tape. It’s super strong, adheres instantly with no odor or drying time. Then I put the item away and smile great big! 😃
I’m really looking forward to learning more from you. Thank you for being on RUclips.
Love your labeling idea, AJ! Thanks so much for watching!
I think this is a great idea I think in the top you could also add a few of the Dollar Tree boxes to put your ink refillable bottles in that would help to keep everything in one area I use six different ink pads and have refills for each of them this would work great for me thank you so much for sharing love the idea have a great day and thank you for sharing God bless
Great idea!!
So clever! I put a label on the end of the ink pad so I know which one I want to use. Great idea.👍
Great idea! I think that's what I am going to do.... Thanks, Susan!
To label the outside of your stamp pad get a labels from the dollar store and cut them down to fit the side of your stamp case. I’m he use the back of a stamp (for the solid surface) and stamp the label. This is better than swiping the ink pad across the label because it will give you a true color. Both methods would work well! You can then cover it with packing or scotch tape if you were worried about it peeling up. I’ve also seen people use a small hole punch to cut out the color to swatch on the outside of the case!
That is what I will do then!!!!! Love the idea and way to make it last. Thanks, Tara!
The Crafty Organizer love your ideas!!!! So happy to see your videos!
Awesome! Thank you for the great tutorial. I will have to make a couple of these.
Please do!
Just glue two to three blocks together. Simple.
How cool is this?! I always organize my colors in rainbow order followed by neutral.
That's exactly what I ended up doing! Thanks, Diana!
@@TheCraftyOrganizer Great minds 😁
Clever! Love the hanger with the plastic washers; keeps you from bashing your thumb! ;-)
Right? So much easier!
I like it get ice cream. That made me smile.
Sometimes it's the best idea. LOL
Omg, thank you for sharing. I have subscribed to your channel! Always looking for organization for my small craft area. I use Stampin up inks and have for years. They may b e pricy but they are lasting. Suggestion if you haven't already done so, you could stamp a solid rectangle and cut, punch or die cut it out to fit on the outside edge of your ink pads. Glue it on so you can see it.
Love that idea!!!! Thanks, Corinne!!!
Great Idea! I don't have much wall space, but also don't have many ink pads, have more the mini ones than bigger ones, but love this idea maybe tweak it as a stand to put into the cube, I hate stacking the ink pads and all fall over when I am looking for one. I sort mine in a basket by brand/size so they stack better than just throwing them in and have the covers fall off.
Great idea!
What a great idea, this would work for all sorts of things. I don't use stamps, but I use 3 inch square canvas packs, this will work perfect for them! Thanks for the great idea Norrine. Stay well stay safe.
Wonderful!
To label, you can ink a small spot on a piece of paper and punch a hole out and glue that on the side of the ink pad. Then you know the exact color. 🙂
Thanks, Gerrie!
That is an excellent idea. Using wall space is better than using a drawer. I really like it. Great Idea!
Thank you! 😊
This is Cool!! Love Your Projects that you do!!
Thank You!!🤗😊
You are so welcome!
To mark your ink pads, you could color a spot on paper with the ink. Then use a little circle punch and punch out the color. Tape or glue the dot on the front or end of the ink pad. You could use any small punch, for example a star etc. Maybe that would work. Very nice storage. Thank you. 💞
Thanks, Susan! That's exactly what I will do. :)
Love this! I would display from dark to light starting at the bottom. Been racking(!!) my mind as to color code so I can see the color at a glance to no avail. Please share when your light bulb goes on!! Stay safe, and as always, keep smiling😁😊😀🙃
The best idea I've heard is to swatch the color on a white label, then use a hole punch to pop out 2 color 'stickers' to attach to the front and side. Then you will always see your color! I thought that was genius!

Thank you for the quick reply. Excellent idea on how to color code the outside of the ink pads so I can select the needed color. THANK YOU🙏😁❤️😊👍😀✌️😆
Just perfect.. I have been looking for something like that❤ Thank you
Glad it was helpful! 😊
Of all the ink storage ideas I have seen, I love this one most! I will be doing this! Thank you for sharing!
I am so glad to hear that!!!! Thank you
Such a great idea. I think I would take a sponge, dip it in the ink pad and spong the color on the side so I can see it easily. Then cover with clear nail polish so it doesn't rub off. I like the basket idea as I have many smaller ones also. Would 2 small ones fit side by side on one of the little shelves you created?
That's a great idea! Thanks, Staci!
Love this! I think I’m going to use furring strips and add a base so mine could stand on my desk. I just signed up to follow. You!
Thanks for signing up, MrsFrogW! So happy to have you here with me. Great idea with the furring strip and making it into a standing holder! Send me pics when you are done!!! :D
Norene, I am thrilled to see this video! I’ve been wanting an easy, affordable space saving way to store my inks and here it is. Thank you for this great idea! Glad to see you today!
You are so welcome! Let me know how yours turns out!
One way that DOESN’T work for labeling stamp pads is a Dymo label maker. Unfortunately the labels don’t stay on plastic well. I tried dabbing the ink color on the labels but the ink would not dry, even overnight. Heat-setting changed the color. I finally solved both problems by covering the ends with clear packing tape.
Cutting self stick paper address labels to fit the side of the pad worked better. For the cubes I used the strips of paper that were left around the edges after the labels were removed.
I have had so many of those (what I thought were great ideas) not work for reasons like that... sounds like you came up with a great solution anyway. Well done.
Thanks for a great storage idea for ink pads. You could stamp the ink pad on a piece of paper & then cut it out & glue it to the front of the ink pad. Thanks for sharing.
Great tip!
I love your idea! Turned out very useful.
Take cardstock, put the ink on it and then attach it to the stamp pad or the woodpiece it sits on so you can see the color
GREAT idea!!!!
