- The 2024 Mazda CX-50 Preferred is just right! This is the second trim offering and includes a power driver’s seat, heated front seats, heated side mirrors, and rear power liftgate.
This Preferred is Soul Red Crystal exterior, which is one of 6 colors available. The Soul Red really pops with the gloss black trim pieces and black cladding.
The CX-50 is a more than capable vehicle for recreation and off road. The Preferred adds a few options that will make the road trip and experience better.

"We gonna go inside and we gonna go outside and we gonna go all around" should be patented by Jon at this point. It's trade mark Jonathan's intro. 😊
Nice one
My '24 CX-5 is at the dealer for some paint work so they put me in a '24 PP CX-50 as a loaner. I am less than impressed with the build quality. The CX-5 is more solid in every regard, especially the interior fit and finish. It just seems like Mazda cut some corners with the U.S. made CX-50, yet still priced it higher than the 5.
absolutely
CX-5 is made in the way of the samurai
Yes, cx 5 better. They cheap out on the cx 50 suspension
Yep, 5 is still the better car due to the culture and mind set in Japan.
Compare the city streets, that tells all.
We drove CX-5’s for 7 years and they were great. 4 months ago we switched to the CX-50. and we have no complaints with anything, including fit and finish. We thought the CX-5 was getting a little long in the tooth and appreciate the bit of extra space in our CX 50. Time will tell if we made the right choice. Oh, our other care is a 2010 Mazda 6 Gran Touring and it simply our favorite car we have ever owned. And I believe the car was manufactured in Flat Rock, MI.
Mazda has THE BEST red on the market. With that said though, I absolutely LOVE my Wind Chill White Pearl on my TPP. It’s so different than my Snowflake Pearl on my CX30 TPP
Wind Chill Pearl is the best current white color out there so far. I'd prefer this color over the Rhodium White!
show us the new ombre interior colour on the base model
It would be a nice addition if this trim has the option of a regular moonroof (NOT PANO!). Just a thought.
What ever happened with the hybrid version of this Mazda? Are they just never going to do it?
Expected in 2025, per various online reports.
Where's the "More Car Vids!" bumper music??! @Jonathan Sewell
Sort of glad it's gone. I always heard "more garbage"
dont they have problems with that Soul Crystal red paint chipping? and flaking off
I wish the CX-50 and CX-30 had a black headliner. The greige headliner is so mismatched with the interior since nothing else inside is greige and it just looks so cheap
Yes it would be nice
Soul Red Crystal is by far the prettiest color that I’ve ever seen on any vehicle. I would almost buy it just for the color! But I really don’t care for black rims. That is a dealbreaker for me. I do not want aftermarket rims.
It’s nice color but the anniversary mx5 orange is better color
@@Mx5probetter color? I Guess you mean you like that color More
Agree on all points. I’m over black rims.
True, but it does not look good on blacked out wheels. It needs machined aluminum wheels to pop out more!
don't be fooled by this model. It LOOKS great but the transmission is so sluggish after awhile it gets frustrating. the quality is so cheap it's insane to think this is a mazda.
Made in Alabama that's probably why. My CX-5 is great to drive
Kev?! I haven’t noticed any slow transmission. Do you have a Turbo model? I prefer the turbo, but the na seems to shift fine also.
@@pingpongballz5998 yes I had a 2022 CX 5 and it was night and day difference. Such a strong built car.
@@JSS no I do not have the turbo model. The transmission does not function like any other Mazda. I don’t know if it’s a cylinder deactivation or what it is. But if you have to press the celebrator to pick up and go the transmission, not downshift you have to press it a few times.
I'd skip the red paint. Would only buy the turbo version. Expensive; they sell for $43,000-$44,000.
No stop/start on the non turbo is nice. Cylinder deactivation is a disappointment for engine longevity. It’s a shame it doesn’t have the Japanese build quality. Hopefully by the 2025 model the bugs are worked out.
I hace a cx50, it is a great suv but the fuel efficiency is really bad, i get average 23.9 mpg, that is really bad against the competition !!
yea well they f'd up by lowering the roof, cx-5 is still the better pick
not a fan of red, red is bad luck for me lol blue is better
Blue is very nice also!
