In this video I'm making a lo-fi beat from scratch, to show you my usual work process
and also to inspire you. Hopefully you will find this helpful!
This track isn't too complicated, as my main goal was to keep it short and simple.
I will do are more in depth tutorial later. Please feel free to ask anything in the comments, and send your tracks my way!
I am really considering commenting these videos myself, as typing text is very time consuming. Let me know what you guys think!

Someone who actually makes there own piano chords instead of sampling them. Good tutorial.
Thank you! I'm glad you liked the video :) I try to make most of my chords myself since it's easier to have a full overview of the chord changes! But sampling can also be a fun creative exercise :)
Eric sampling is a part of music, don't run it down like that
The problem with sampling in this genre is that most people just use overused samples that are used by pretty much everyone, they aren't creative in the sampling process and then they just sound like each other.
If you sample, use samples that aren't used by everyone else.
Or write your own chords and melodies.
Sampling is actually harder than throwing some 7maj chords. Anyway It isn’t about how difficulty, it’s about expressing something correctly

nice! 128bpm works bc u have the snare on the 3rd beat of the bar but if u wanna do 2and 4 ud need a slower bpm 70-90
1:46 you can just select all and click "quantize" it's easier...

Just saw that you were thinking about doing a voice over for your videos. So I really like that you just use text in your videos, only because it's easy to understand. A lot of FL tutorials drag on due to the guy talking so much. Either that, or they're impossible to follow. I mean if you can do it well, fuck it, it might make your videos even more informative?

Try lowering your buffer size for recording to see if that helps- and increase it when mixing for more cpu power! You may know that by now! Dope vid though my G

Great job man, that's actually a very good tutorial. I love this kind of professionality (you know, the lack of children rambling out like they are some sort of comic figure in the wrong context, i assure you there are lots of them). Simple is better :)

By the way i have an issue that isn't related with the video. It's regarding the so called 'effects' (in this case the one called 'Hardcore'). The problem is, i've put a single one on a specific label of the mixer (let's say for example an audio clip) and NOT on the Master Volume one... Though i'm seeing that this affects the whole song eitherway... How do i obviate regarding this matter? It's very annoying.. I want an effect on a single channel, not all the thing. I would really appreciate if you (or someone else) could help me!

First you have to make sure that there is only one sound linked to that mixer track, so you have to see how many of your sounds are linked to the track. Also keep in mind that "Hardcore" is a plugin that serves as a guitar pedal board, and is originally meant for recording guitar with :) There might be some effects that will allow you to achieve the same sound, but without using Hardcore

This is amazing. Did it take you a long time to learn to use FL? It looks like there is a lot going on in the program but I'd love to try it.
I'd recommend getting the tutorial version first that way you can familiarize yourself with the tools,plugins and the software in general before getting any of the versions

The chords are Emaj7 and Bmaj7. Hope this helps.

Thanks! It's because of my audio driver - normally i run ASIO and it works perfectly with zero delay. But my screen recording software doesn't know how to record the sound if i run ASIO, so i'll have to fix that eventually :) The keyboard is great imo

Well essentially Nexus is just a bunch of presets. If you have your own synths (harmor, sytrus, massive, serum, sylenth etc.) you can design your own sounds, or check the presets that they offer :)
Why does your Nexus preset sound so different from mine even though we use the same one??

Yeah i had to tweak it and fix it up, since there's a huge delay when I record with my MIDI Keyboard. (Alesis VI49). I use fruity limiter for the sidechain compression, and it's pretty important - i will make a tutorial soon!
In my latest video you can see what Fruity Limiter can do! :)
