@@jaklg7905right! That’s why for the LIFE of me, I can NOT understand why ppl complain about filming. I personally have NEVER seen a person in danger, where someone filmed vs getting help. Ironically, EVERY case of someone dying because they didn’t get help, it was due to people thinking ‘not my business’ & walking away.
I just don’t understand how people don’t realize that it’s very possible to 1- dial 911 THEN begin filming and 2- film & ask someone else to call 911. I’ve also NEVER seen a video where there was only ONE bystander filming themselves arriving on scene & doing nothing other than filming. These videos usually always begin in the middle of the incident (meaning there was plenty of time for 911 to be called).
Also when someone is seriously injured, you can make things WORSE, if ur not medically trained. It’s actually BEST to call 911 and let THEM tell you what to do vs doing it in reverse.
Also like u said-filming is beneficial in numerous ways. NUMEROUS

Even if you drag them there they wouldn’t stay on treatment plan. I’m sorry but no mental diagnoses can convince me these people aren’t vibrating at the bottom of the scale. They enjoy seeing others suffer period.
In my decades of research have never seen one rehabilitated. Not one.
I respect your opinions but these people literally all have the exact same playbook even use exact same phrases. There is more to this than a diagnosis.
As the old timers would say… these are the wolves in sheeps clothing. And the evil we were warned about but because there is a “mental diagnoses” it’s made them a victim. They are not!

Most abusers had in common the key traits of narcissism, regardless whether clinically diagnosed yet, with some also falling diagnostically in the category of antisocial personality disorder (sociopathy). man oh man, that's insane! I had to intervene in a number of situations like that when I was private security guard....I was a contractor and the head of security for the client (I was at the same client most of the time) would tell me I was supposed to observe and report, but San Jose Police would pat me on the back and say I did everything they would have hoped for me to do. Of course, when I was in the Navy, not intervening would be considered dereliction of duty, but I guess in the civilian world some think it's ok to wait 5 minutes for PD to arrive while a guy kidnaps his ex-wife and their infant son. (that's one of the situations I was in as a private security guard! And that head security guy chided me for intervening to keep them apart until PD got there! I was like "dude, by your logic I would have observed and reported a kidnapping. Sometimes a man has to do what a man has to do.")
Always nice to meet a fellow Real Man who feels that protective instinct. 🙂

I genuinely hope this lady is able to enjoy the rest of her cruise safely. And my god I pray she doesn’t go back and she finds someone who respects her. Everyone in similar situations deserves better.
Also, that gentleman who leaped balcony’s is hero. He may not feel like it, but without him, who knows what her attackr would have done.

@@arleneaugustahair8393 by enjoy, I mean being able to relax a bit knowing that he can’t hurt her. I’m not saying she should party it up or go about the cruise as normal! But rather even just staying in her room and trying to relax as best as she can given the circumstances. Or if she chooses to go out and about, to just get out and walk around. Easier said than done, especially going through such a terrifying situation. It at least gives her time and space to hopefully figure some things out and maybe make a plan. At least, I hope she does. Not sure what happens when they port at the next location but hopefully given the severity, he’s turned over to land authorities.

I can attest to the fact that if you have relationship problems in your daily life they WILL follow you on a cruise. You are then stuck with them for the duration of your cruise and both of you will just be miserable. If you are on the outs don’t take a cruise together because you will just be wasting your money.

I met you with my son at the port getting on , my husband and I was out there as well when this happened, I heard the screaming and I heard someone ask if you need help I think , I didn’t know you were down there. I didn’t have my contacts in so I wasn’t sure exactly what happened but I told my son I’m sure Jay will . Thank you for the video and I am glad she’s ok . J, in a similar vein: I used to lead wilderness canoe trips. The outfitters printed in their list of do’s and don’ts - do not take this time to try to quit smoking! Yes, it creates stress but it also makes you less aware …. not a good thing in the wilderness!

As I see it, if two people have relationship difficulty together on land, their issues will only magnify in the more confined circumstances of a cruise. No matter how spacious their stateroom, they’re still forced to share its limited space, and can only spread out by a couple of hundred feet at most, even across decks. Kudos to you, security, and other passengers for intervening and the ultimate arrest of the domestic abuser. Without it, the victim might well have met an untimely end. Too, I’d hope the cruiseline would strongly facilitate her with local criminal reporting and then fly her to where she needed to be immediately. She’s in great danger if and when the guy is free.

About a year ago my friend was on MSC with her family and she had problems with a group of rowdy passengers, reported it to crew and security and NOTHING was done. The trouble makers acted up the entire 5 day cruise. They were reported several times and NOTHING was done to make the complaining passengers more comfortable.

I have a friend (who has since passed) that told me she was on a cruise a few years ago with a bf that beat her senseless. She said no one called security and all they did was yell through the walls to quiet down. She said no one questioned the bruises on her face the next day. She was held captive in that cabin and unfortunately never sought help when she could. Alcohol was the main factor-Its great this neighboring cruiser got involved. He deserves a commendation-
