I’m Puerto Rican and my husband is black. We’ve experienced racism too in our 17 year relationship. Sadly, it’s been from our own people. Hispanic men racist against my husband and black women racist against me. I think it stems from the whole “they’re taking all our men/women” mentality which is quite sad.
We teach our sons that they can love anyone from any race as long as they are happy and being treated right.
Lauren is a sweetheart but I’m glad she’s got some French sass because unfortunately we live in a world with many ignorant people so instances like this aren’t too uncommon.
I've had that happen a lot to me and my hubby(a Black man) as well, but I'm mixed(French/Italian/Black/American Indian and only look Hispanic. A few times Hispanic men have given me dirty looks and will actually tell me that I should "stay within my own race!" My hubby went to work the next day and told his PR friend about it and his friend said that there's a lot of racism even among Hispanic ppl, and that his ppl(PR's)are very racist and look down at the darker skinned toned races like Mexicans and Cubans, but that a lot of PR's also do not like Black folks. I've gotten the most racist remarks and attitudes from Black women and that's always hurt me because I really do love and respect them.

People are already upset about something else, the proverbial cup is already full, then an incident pushes the water over the edge. I worked in the food service industry for over 30 years, you have to learn to deal with it as it comes in that industry.

Yes, there are many things which cloud peoples minds: all forms of prejudice, jealousy, and culture to name a few. The problem with this world? There are not enough people who have God in their heart. We took God out of schools and through the generations, He was lost from most homes. A few things to note. Lauren is so sweet and she was super cute in this video. You are blessed. I am a white man and dated a black woman about 25 years ago, the racist things were so bad. One restaurant literally served me on glass plates and her on paper plates. I was furious, she said she was used to that treatment. You bless us with your channel and it is always good to see you and Lauren together.

I've seen some weird folk on cruises but 100% its a great vacation. Security will assist quickly if people start to argue. Many will be jailed or ordered to stay in their cabin, where a guard sits at their door. Physical fighters are put off the ship at the next port and banned from that cruise line. When you sail realize you are just a person in a new city. Watch your valuables and your surroundings just like at home. At the Ports beware of pickpockets. Use the Safe in your cabin for Passport, wallet, jewelry. For folk that seem to be asking too many personal questions, I'll say I'm from a different city than I live in. I'll keep my last name secret....so they can't Google me. However, many of my cruising friends like making new friends and they share contact info for after the cruise. They visit each other around the world. You may find new friends on your cruise. Whatever happens the cruise makes me smile all day & night. Go to the Live Shows. Don't miss the fun stuff. Adult Scavenger Hunt is a must.. Read the daily schedule of activities. Happy sailing.
PS-little known fact....if you gamble thru $1,500 in the Casino, you will be offered another cruise for Free or super cheap, with free drinks. Royal Caribbean does that, so the others follow. Ask the Casino manager to verify. Since you put your ship card is in the slot machine gathering points for your end of cruise prizes, the Casino computer can see who's gambling heavy. You get perks. Need a Mimosa? Enjoy.
As a Canadian (where we apologize when someone else is the one to bump into us!) I always find this kind of hostility on cruises shocking. It's terrible you have to deal with horrible comments and judgements about your relationship just because you're different races (In 2023!). Your love of travel and fun really shines through in your videos together.

We know it wasn't covid that caused her to act stupid. She saw you with Lauren and lost her teeny tiny crazy mind. I went on a Carnival cruise in 2016 with a coworker and saw something like this happen. Along with people drunk by 11AM stumbling around. (what's happening in your life when you're drunk before lunch?) I love seeing Lauren in your videos. I always say, everything sounds better in French. Keep up the great work!

MY ex spouse was black and BOY was it an experience. I got to see a different side of racism, I already experienced it due to being Mexican but discrimination to a racially mixed couple is real and still very much alive. AND I got it from both sides, black people also treated me with racism because I was with a black spouse, every race had an opinion, none paid our bills so the heck with them all. I can imagine stuff like this on weekend booze cruises but not Transatlantic two week cruise. Lauren is lucky to have such an adoring and protective man. If all people were that way, there wouldn’t be so many unhappy people willing to fight over stupid things.
Guys- I’ve seen this crap going on my whole life. I’ve learned in the past, especially when my father was the Archie bunker of ignorance . It makes me sick that people need to overreact on a situation that makes completely no sense. The best thing to do is to walk away and just ignore people. I know it’s tough because I can sometimes retaliate myself and that’s not the right thing to do. You are just need to stay. positive. The first time my son encountered a racial incident was on a cruise. It took until he was 14 and I had to explain what was going on. We live on Vancouver Island and he's grown up with a culturally varied group of kids without any comment from anyone. He gravitated to a mixed group of teens on the ship and they got along great. One of the teens was black and they weren't getting served at the restaurant the way the other kids were and he wanted to know why. I live for a world where it just doesn't matter.
I am so sorry about this happening. You two are so cute together. Some people don't pack their manners, thinking that what happens on the ship won't go out. We've seen enough of this crap out in the world, vacation isn't fun when someone does that. Give that cute girl a hug (not weird, I'm a 65 year old grandmother of 9, so I tend to hug alot) and tell her that there are a lot of Americans who care what happens. And hey, if you're free, hit the Allure out of Galveston the first week of May, the crazy grandma with the weird color hair zipping around the ship in a wheelchair with Santa who is wearing his Hawaiian shirts would love to buy y'all a drink. Don't sweat the stupid stuff, it'll get tends to bounce back on the person who put it out. ((hugs)).

Sorry this happened to Ya'll. True it can happen on ANY ship, but for some reason Carnival seems to attract a higher percentage of ignorant people. I have personally done in excess of 120 cruises, but only 3 on Carnival. Didn't take me too long to figure it out.
I never had a problem on a Carnival cruise, but I usually ignore people who attempt to treat me bad. Life's too short.
I really do believe it's the affordability of it. It seems to attract a lower quality of humanity. Also seems to be more true with the shorter cruises. That's why we try to do the 6-8 day cruises, nothing less.
What a nightmare. People are such a mess inside. And clearly that lady has some personal issues regarding black men with white women maybe even visa versa, who knows. It’s so unfortunate. We all have encountered situation/people that were quite annoying; even annoying people encountered annoying stuff. I admired you and those who handled that with calm and cool.
Unfortunately, ignorance and aggressiveness have no bounds. You two are a good-looking couple. We were on the Panorama last October for a Mexican cruise, and I saw so many different groups from all nationalities. We didn't go to the nightclub. My husband likes to remind me that nothing good happens after midnight where alcohol is served. I agree. I will not go on another Carnival ship just because the atmosphere is so loose. Rudeness and entitlement were everywhere. I must be showing my age - over 60. Thanks for sharing and just live your life!!

I'm a old school older lady and if you go to the dance floor to dance you put a napkin over your drink this mean "don't touch my drink I will return to finish it". If I go to the bathroom you cover your drink with a napkin and it's a signal that I will be returning don't dump my drink. You must understand that it 's crowed their but we still need a little personal place. If you had a plate of food on that table would you like a stranger to place a bags or drink near your food. I think the older lady went over board, but if that was your drink would you be okay with some stranger putting their personal thing near it.

Thanks for sharing your crazy experience. As someone who has been in an inter-racial marriage for 20+ years it is always interesting to the stories of people in similar situations. Luckily, over the years, we do not have too many stories like this to tell. Racism is usually subtle, a vibe of hostility that we pick up on. You are in the enviable position of seeing the world and meeting many people. My own experience of travel and having lived on 3 different continents, is that decent and kind people are by far in the majority. Lastly, you two are very sweet together.

I think that your content is great and I love cruising and hope you and Lauren don't let this situation ruin your cruise people can be horrid everywhere and lose it and be so abusive about anything it's just awful.

I'm black and the ninjas can call me a self hater all they want. I'm a classist. I don't tolerant nor want to associate with ghetto minded people. That's why I would NEVER EVER go on a cruise that has a price point in which certain types of people can sail on which are short older ship cruises. I tend to stay away from Carnival for that reason. Ms. Ghetto clearly wanted to cause an issue with Lauren and used the drink and Covid as an excuse and a lame one at that. More then likely she was jealous of Lauren. When you dismantled her weak Covid argument with facts, then she had no choice but to lash out with her true issue. First off, anyone with common sense knows that.to NEVER LEAVE A DRINK UNATTENDED in the first place. So she was in the wrong yet she coped an attitude as if you and Lauren were the problem.🙄

Firstly, I am thankful that this was de-escalated quickly before anything physical occurred. I don't understand what has happened to society that makes it seem like so many people are walking around "on the verge of a violent temper tantrum". Be cautious and keep enjoying your life. And by all means keep these reports coming.
Carnival is so ratchet bro, I had a guy almost fight me because my lady was walking too slow on Debarkation day 😂 I told buddy to see me outside the terminal, Wasnt risking my status on Carnival lol
