Off topic, I always wonder why so few do not use bio against human bosses. During long fights it does so much damage, for the mana cost.
I can't speak for everyone, but I got so used to status affects not working on bosses in JRPG's that I rarely even bother to try.
@@devildogwhite Too true, JRPGs, Wow or MMOS etc all find it easier to make bosses easier to manage mathematically by not allowing stuns, debuffs and buffs. Laziness.
But now some RPGs lovingly want you to have a few ways to skin a cat. FF7 is one of these. They encourage scans, investigation, and us exploiting weaknesses.
@@rwhite9994 It's only really FF that has traditionally disabled all status effects and debuffs on all bosses, most other JRPGs are balanced around it

I wonder if VII Remake can surpass KH3 in terms of gameplay.
It already has for the most part (which isn't that hard in the first place.)
Magic isn't ass and synergize well with attack skills, melee isn't filler garbage, boss fight are well designed (so far) and are remeniscent of KH2's boss design.
Only bad stuff is the "turn based" elements of the combat. Lack of I frames on your dodge is also jarring. I also find that having magic cost both MP and ATB is a bit redundant (it was done this way to prevent spamming) but materia like ATB Boost and such make it not as big of a deal.

Glad to hear some positives on the boss design, haven't looked anything about VIIR ever since it launched. If you say VIIR is better than KH3 in those aspects even though it has turn based elements, imagine what a new KH game (or even KH3) could've been if Takahashi was involved.
@@UncPhilly88 While you're right that it's better than KH3 in the first place, everything that you do when a boss isn't staggered might as well be filler. God I hate this stupid fucking FFXIII gameplay trope of "deal tiny amounts of chip damage until the stagger bar fills then bust a nut all over them so their HP bar depletes like a windows progress bar" that's so popular in modern RPGs
