Mission 1 time. You are gonna see alot crowd control tactics in this run especially with the lack of Enemy Step. Abusing DMC5's stun mechanics is also gonna be crucial like how I use Color Up shots to stun/disable the double knife guys (forgot their names) for a bit to focus on others. Boss did not go too bad though I got pretty lucky to not get hit early in the battle with my premature jumps. ...

Extremely dull, boring boss fight with one of the worst DMs in the series. Sorry this took so long, not really as motivated to play this like KH1 and 2. Yozora is next and then Im done with this shit piece ((For now))

Finally got around to doing this. This is not my first time getting Gold Crown at Lvl 1. I did it like 4 years ago on the OG PS2 version (Where getting Gold Crown is much harder compared to PS4) so I thought why not again and record proof of it. Proof at the end. This really tough to do without Trinity Limit at least. For this to be reasonable doable you'll need your party members help fuelling you with Ethers for Fire spam and helping you with damage to push Zex to skip phase 2 to final phase. So what's the consensus for this boss in comparison to Terra?
>Yozora vs Terra Terra mogs easily. Faster fight (despite being invulenrable during attacks), better defined openings better desperation move, more dangerous mixups and significantly more complex a.i patterns.The command sealing is more interesting than Yozora's keyblade steal (just dodging around for an overly long time until he gives it back to you). I do enjoy that he can steal Kupo coins and revive himself tho(funny way to shit on casuals that bank on that to win). Terra's only issues are that he is a bit too easily loopable especially at DM phase (a problem some of KH2's superbosses have). He also is probably too close to Sora at the start of the fight(opening with potential immediate punch combo that close is a bit crazy) and avoiding Blizzard Bike is kinda bullshit without limits. Its a rare attack tho so not that big of a deal.
Thanks for the detailed breakdown. Saw Bizkit defending Yozora on the grounds that Terra was 'more' predictable and thus 'less dangerous', because out of all of his moveset, he can only use a set number of moves per phase (the DM doesn't count for this for obvious reasons) each time you fight him (but IIRC you won't know the exact moves he will choose until you get to see all of them for each phase). I think what he fails to understand (despite being a vet for far longer) is that Terra is more dangerous if you don't actively know how to effectively loop him (allow him to have his way, and you're very likely to be in for a world of hurt). He acts as if Yozora doesn't job to the same antics. Not sure if the same applies to Yozora (being dangerous if you don't loop him). That's where your first-hand knowledge comes in (since I lack that, as I keep losing interest in playing KH3 the more I hear about how Osaka butchered/watered down pretty much everything that made KH2 great).

Besides DM looping, Terra is only 'predictable' with the Explosion loop setup. Without the loop he is far more chaotic than any boss in 3 let alone Yozora. Same shit with fights like Data Roxas (most opt to loop him with Limit Form Ars combo after stealing his keyblades cuz his last phase moveset is ridiculous, namely the keyblade buzzsaw attacks) >Yozora looping You cannot loop him at all to my knowledge (unless Denny or somebody found some way.) You can 'reset' his RV before it hits the threshold to maximize damage per opening but thats it.

Hey man. You're one of the best players i've seen of this game. Just have one question. There is a challenge run for the old God of War games called 'PAIN+' where you only use stuff you have from the start but other restrictions are also there. Stuff like being unable to open chests to heal, using magic being a DQ even though you start with it in GoW3. I was wondering if such challenge is possible. Purely Rebellion and E&I. I guess styles would be allowed but with categories. Stuff like RG PAIN+, SM PAIN+. In PAIN+ DT, secondary weapons/guns, and all the other no upgrade rules would be applied. How would that go? Pretty hard, i know. Is it even possible? Some exceptions could be made for some spots (hell, some MISSIONS as a whole). Got anything on that, or have you tried such challenge in DMC3? I'm interested to hear your thoughts.
I even used it in my fights and I made a Tutorial Video on all of the Data Organization Battles if you wanna Watch Those Plus they may be in bad quality because I use my phone but I did the best I could
So Phil, here's a question before I head off to work (might not be able to respond until weekend). Did you ever get around to finishing this game, or play it enough to know about the nuanced stuff, or got to see if X-2's postgame is at least better than X's? Playing FFX for the first time, and while it's no V, there are definitely some things to like (such as the contextual actions from bosses, as you noted in the past). I'm currently fighting the Dark Aeons, then I'll fight the Monster Arena creations, and then Penance (no worries, since I'm playing on an emulator, I just used cheats to cut off the pointless busywork, so I didn't have to spend weeks on maxing out stats), and plan to do one or two challenge runs afterwards. So I kind of want to play another RPG before getting into Action again (next title will likely be DMC3, that or God Hand), but I don't want to play XII until I get my hands on Zodiac Age (IZJS doesn't let you have more than one job per character, and spell que is a thing). And I can't really find FF XIII anywhere, so my only real options are either X-2, or do another FFV challenge run (like low level 0ABP, or do an experiment like checking how many bosses in the main game can be soloed). Just wanted to have everything planned out ahead of time. As I said, I'm not quite done with X just yet.

Don't remember if I actually managed to do it. But if not, then the only one I couldn't do was one of the problematic ones (Agrabah's, I could do the rest). Was playing the PS2 version via an emulator, which I suspect had some input lag. When was I ever going to beat that mushroom with such an issue?

Hi ! I’m trying to hunt this mob and I can’t get it to show up. I went to this very area between X:30 and X:59 I went killing everything on the path / killing everything on the map / coming from various areas / zoning in and out 1 or 2 zones never changed anything. Are there any more conditions to that hunt ? This is the last rare mob I’m missing. I doesn’t show in the bestiary yet so I’m sure I haven’t encountered it yet. Thanks by advance

Cool video. Off topic, I always wonder why so few do not use bio against human bosses. During long fights it does so much damage, for the mana cost.
I can't speak for everyone, but I got so used to status affects not working on bosses in JRPG's that I rarely even bother to try.
@@devildogwhite Too true, JRPGs, Wow or MMOS etc all find it easier to make bosses easier to manage mathematically by not allowing stuns, debuffs and buffs. Laziness. But now some RPGs lovingly want you to have a few ways to skin a cat. FF7 is one of these. They encourage scans, investigation, and us exploiting weaknesses.
@@rwhite9994 It's only really FF that has traditionally disabled all status effects and debuffs on all bosses, most other JRPGs are balanced around it
Interesting. Could work as a means to retreat with Glide (as you did) to give it one reason to use Finishing Leap over Explosion (which also has i-frames) in one scenario which calls for the noted. Again, nice find. Just for the sake of science, I reproduced this against Lexaeus, when he hits the ground thrice, and the DM (when he goes off-screen and dives into you, by using Magnet beforehand), and it works. Of course, it is not a good idea to use that finisher in such situations, as mentioned, it was just for the sake of science.

Oh, so you finally decided to get ReMind. Great, I can now ask you, a trusted source of info on these games, about what do you think of 3's Datas relative to 2's.
I did not buy the DLC, it was gifted to me by a good friend. I would have most likely never gotten it if not for that lol. >KH2 Datas vs KH3 Datas KH3's are very much inferior for a myriad of reasons. No boss variety ( every boss teleports and every fight consists of Teleport->Melee->Teleport->Melee->Teleport->Projectile, borringg), too restrictive in how you can approach them (owed to overabundance of superarmor attacks and KH3's system mechanics being dogshit in general.), DMs last way too long and kill the pacing of fights and overly straightfoward (i.e. dumbed down) bosses AI patterns with little to no variation ( limit cut bosses in 3 literally are hard coded to run down a fuckin unbreakable list of attacks in rotation instead of randomly picking from a pool of attacks each phase like KH1 and 2 did keeping the action reactive/interesting) and their revenge counters are god awful. They are essentially watered down version of the KH2 datas. KH3 dlc and all is still a very mediocre action game.

Wow, great job. This an attempt to beat Larxene by only using Valor?
Yeah. I did manage to best her using mainly Valor (Not in the attempt that this clip was made). Requires alot of parrying and stalling in the air via Combo Master to not die. Also hitting her RV with Valor is generally very bad. This was at Lvl 1 in case your wondering.
Amazing, thought you needed i-frames to win this fight, but I'm happy to be proven wrong. This is a testament for how open ended and well designed this game is. Congratulations man.

I don't think this is a good place to compare it to given that there's a damage floor. It's not always going to do this much damage everywhere, it's damage will change depending on the battle level. I believe data fights are level 99.

Yep, this is about the only non Tokyo Team game that I like. To answer your question, HP ups are allowed as I don't believe this type of run would be possible without them. I will still be able to use some useful Sleights too even with the starting deck (party/team attacks, Ragnarok and Ars Arcanum IIRC).
So I take it that you don't like KH3? I wouldn't blame you, I myself am hesitant to even touch it or any future KH game, for that matter, as it would be near impossible for Osaka to surpass Tokyo. As for Ars and Ragnarok, doesn't it concern you that they might be easily broken, or is there some workaround for it (that doesn't break the rules you're playing by) that I'm missing?
@@MrWright >KH3 It's got some good things in it (Air Step, Air Guarding) but the whole game is just a shameless imitation of KH2 that got bogged down futher by its core mechanic being heavily RNG based (which is horrid in Action) among other things. >Ars and Rag IIRC, I can safely squeeze those Sleights in when a boss is reloading their cards.

IIRC, luck. Though at the time I did find a somewhat reasonable way to deal with blue laser without expending any meter or RC use.

How do you keep the circle away from you when damaging him? It always catches up to me mid-combo and so I end up getting Data 1 early AF
You just have to try and angle Sora so that your combo pushes you and Vexen as far away as possible from the data circle. You can also move back and wait abit to lead the circle away from Vexen if its to close to him. He stays stunned for a very generous amount of time thankfully so this works well. Also, protip is to always try to Slide Dash into Vex to start your combo. The reason is that usually when you do a Slide Dash Sora's next attack should be a Slapshot(if you mash it out fast), if you equip it of course. Ground combos with Slapshot end faster than ones that don't, this is important if you want to make this slightly easier for yourself. Also Slide Dashing into him is faster than running up and comboing him (so it takes longer for the data circle to catch up to you). This is basically everything I did in the vid. Sorry for the lenghty post, just wanted to be as through as possible. Good Luck.
