Found your channel a month ago. Binged on your videos since and it’s resulted in me buying pens and watercolours. Haven’t used watercolours for over 50 years.
I have been really enjoying your videos... thank you for the time you take to do them. Art has created anxiety since Grade 7 (40+ years ago lol) so I appreciate your gentle, non-critical tone. You've encouraged me to buy a fountain pen (and dip pen) and a basic watercolor cake set (and squeeze tube set) and I've actually done ink sketches with some watercolor splashed on! You are slowly unlocking and unravelling the mystery of how to make marks on the page, then dab color, with at least a bit less critical self-talk in the process. Thank you!
Thank you for the lesson and inspiration. I am taking your two course but find that I like the challenges you present in your collection of you tube videos. Thank you for your guidance and inspiration. Namaste 🙏🏼 Sharon
Quite a bit of fun with this one, Toby, because I incorporated some techniques from the final lessons on value from your workshop 3. Using fine salt was rewarding. As always, TY and happy Easter. Frances
Just found your video absolutely very informative I love it I'm trying to start my own drawing and painting business so stuff like this I just soak up like a sponge thank you for the content! Have a great day
Best of luck! Definitely an exciting place to be, I'm sure you'll enjoy the journey :) Don't be put off by the tough times as well, theres always a few of them.
Thank you , loved the tutorial! I usually sketch buildings, but I have recently moved to the countryside where there is more landscape then buildings. This tutorial has really helped and I will be giving it a go later on today. 😀 P.S. Betty is adorable!
I like this style, but boy I did not see the shapes the way you did. Did you leave the centre path out because it was too difficult for a beginner to get the perspective of? It seemed to me that the distant horizon looked either like blue water or a blue hill but either way I say that it went completely across the horizon line? I didn’t see the field that you drew in with lines either.
I just didn't feel the path was interesting. And in this simple small sketch diving the shape up would be a little visually confusing , just in my opinion
