    • 1/2 stick (1/4 cup) unsalted butter, softened
    •3/4 cup brown sugar
    •1 large egg
    •1 tsp vanilla extract
    •1/8 tsp almond extract
    •Small amount of pink gel food coloring
    •1 & 1/2 cups all purpose flour
    •1/2 tsp baking soda
    •drained & finely chopped maraschino cherries (plus extra for garnish)
    •3/4 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips (plus extra for garnish)

    Why not just use some cherry juice out of the jar for the color

    Hi....these look so good! I made a dessert dip that I put on my channel that has chocolate chips and maraschino cherries in it. So good 😍 Now I’m going to try these 👍 Thanks for sharing, Hugs, Dolores ❤️

    I live in Colorado. I made these cookies. They did not come out so well. Is there a difference for an altitude?

    Does this recipe really call for 1/2 cup of baking soda? Sounds like way too much.

      No, its definitely 1/2 tsp

      I thought, wtf, and put 1/2 cup and it's TERRIBLE, I SCRAPPED it before wasting cherries and chocolate chips

    As others have pointed out: Way too much baking soda! 1/2 a tsp is maybe what you meant? Going to throw this batch out before someone gets sick. Please revise your recipe, because it sounds delicious, but is unpalatable in its current form.

    Okay..first off...no instructions other than having to watch the video then pausing to go back to see measurements, then trying to replay video which always brought me back to the very beginning every time...this was annoying, second 1/2 cup of baking soda? I thought this recipe must be a joke....half way through I was telling my husband to find a different version because it did not look right. So, he found another one he wants ke to make..going to try that one if these cookies are nasty.

    Half a cup of baking soda ? If you are not capable of fixing this mistake you are not worth of my time.
