I've been to Dubai late 2019. It's magic, I felt great walking in the streets and watching the skyscrappers, I do love architecture and visiting the Burj Khalifa was a dream! I loved every minute at the city. People are welcoming, it's easy to move around, we definitely feel very safe, the prices are good, the food is great, lots of things to do. I want to visit Dubai again very soon...
More amazing than the city is the slave workforce from India, Philippines and Pakistan that built Dubai in unhumanizing conditions... but who cares when you have a thousand pics to take for instagram. Vanity wins again
Wonderful development was done. How i wish I could visit the place not just stories being told by prople. Long live Dubai... You're Greatness is realistic.
One of the most peaceful, safe and inspiring places I’ve ever been to. Had the pleasure of staying in Dubai for the 2021 Abu Dhabi F1 Grand Prix where Max Verstappen won. Dubai is unreal, it truly is a marvel to observe, from the beaches to the level of service you get from each place you visit, it’s one you MUST do within your lifetime!
Am in Dubai currently and can say it is the most insane (in a good way) place I have ever been to. They just do things above and beyond here in terms of their architecture it’s truly stunning.
I am from the UK and Dubai is far and away the most jaw dropping place me and my family have ever been to. Sure it is mad hot but you soon get used to it. There's no crime that we have seen and the place is just full of wonders. Burj Khalifa, Dubai Fountain, Jumeirah Beach, the shopping Malls and many more things too. If you haven't been I urge you to do so.
I'm from Brazil, Belém is my city in the Amazon. I've been to other countries, but you can't imagine the wow it was to visit Dubai, I'm sad to say but my city is not very clean, not safe, not easy to move around, I wish we didnt have so much corruption in our politicians, but I give up in thinking things will change, so I work hard and travel as much as I can to enjoy life! And it's pretty hot here too, but Dubai has ar conditioning everywhere, we don't here! I'd love to visit the UK someday, it's in my bucket list.
It's grown out of all proportion since the 1990s, but it's a very safe place to live. Its growth since then is phenomenal. Prior to this, it was quite an intimate place where nearly every ex-pat knew nearly everyone, and where to meet up. I can appreciate its development, but too congested for me now. Great place to live and work in the '80s, but time doesn't stop still and today it's called progress. Great video!
Very good video and a joy to watch. Dubai splits the western minds around the world. Living here for almost a year after 11years in London I can say I'm happier and more optimistic here than I would be in Europe at this time. For people from Asia, Dubai seems to be the number 1 place to move to (leaving the Japanese out of this). Growth is here and if you want to be where growth is you'll have to learn to look East, whether you want to accept this or not.

You're right. Dubbing Dubai as city of the future before any other is very reasonable to say. America built cities of the future at one time too. And in parts they and all other first world countries make sure that the level of development in general stays at a top level. For now, Dubai and the middle East are pushing boundaries and it will be seen how it may impact the region and global economies. Thank you for this wonderful video. It is a common mistake that Dubai was built because of oil, but this is not true. Many countries own a lot of oil, such as Iraq, Venezuela, and Nigeria, and they have not achieved a quarter of what Dubai, the Emirates and the Gulf countries have achieved. The real secret lies in our leaders and their keenness to build their cities and comfort their people.

Just returned from my first visit to Dubai and I have to say that I was very impressed (being from NY). I lived and worked in Manhattan and loved it b/c of the energy. I’ve been to Dubai a few times. It’s a strange place - very glitzy in places, still unfinished, and in some ways quite awkward - hard to get around, because it’s very spread out. I think that in fact about 15% of the population are Emiratis, so 85% non-Emiratis - some of those have been living in Dubai & the UAE for a couple of generations; it’s very hard to get Emirati citizenship. Many of the expatriates are also Muslim, so Islam is, I think, a unifying factor for the majority of those living there - maybe two-thirds? Beneath the glamour and the glitz is a different story - lots of low-paid workers, with very few rights. And the plight of the manual labourers who are building the skyscrapers can be truly dreadful. So a good place to visit, but you should always be aware of the full picture.
I would say that every major world city has the same characteristics. Built on the blood and bones of underpaid workers, dingy and dark in some areas and so so.
In all honesty, most cities are built by blood and bones of low paid workers with very few rights especially places in asia not saying any names, I’m not justifying this in any way but all these cities around the world are built by blood and bones of low paid workers and I don’t think anything will change in the forceable future, countries and companies around the globe will always try exploiting labor workers because it would be beyond expensive to pay them.

However, Dubai needs to review their public transport. Most of the metros and buses are inefficient. Riding a metro during summer is awful, like the train smells like all body odors of the world combined.😂😂 Let’s not talk about waste segregation which is almost absent in Dubai. People use tons of plastics for a city that is trying to lead Sustainability efforts. They should borrow some ideas from Singapore. Also, the drainage system which is almost non-existent. Just a mild rain would make all the roads flooded. Also, the housing is kinda fucked up and needed some regulation. The rent is soaring. Almost half of your salary now goes to rent. What I love with Dubai Food is cheap here (for a first-world country standard) I mean, there are cheap options everywhere. Lots of selections from Arabic to Indian to Chinese and South East Asian cuisine. Grocery price are reasonable. Sometimes goods here are cheaper than supermarkets in third world countries. All the nationalities here are kind to each other. Yes, there are some classism happening, but racism tendencies are rare. Everyone knows how to tolerate each others religion, belief, and culture. You can also easily get flights here from around the Globe. Low crimerate, and of course NO Income TAXES!

He had vision!! The city is wonderful, safe and clean! America should take a page out of their playbook! We have literally gone down the tubes!! Guns and crime everywhere.
Dubai is an fascinating city that shows that everything is possible. The only problem that I face when I was there is that you need a car to go everywhere cause everything is far away and is not a very walkable city. If they are able to fix that, I’m sure it will become one of the best cities in the world to live!
Loved the clip shame we didn't have access to that before we got down there....we were bouncing from one revelation to another and our fundamentally British consciousness a little ruffled (especially by Arab Spring and the piracy to the south) it's definitely an exciting and dynamic region.A lot of Dubai genuinely loves Sheikh Mohammed (including me) alas I managed only 3 years there, but it was action packed.I think some our more sensible youth should head there as it really is a land of opportunity.....off you go and turn yourself into something worthy.Oh one last thing,in the cultural clash don't be tempted to roll over Arabic rules or customs,it's a small price but non observance of local law comes at your own peril.Bon voyage!
Dubai is something only the shallow would admire. If development for you is concrete jungles, a lot of lights and glass then Dubai is your place. It has no soul and never will. It's a dictator's amusement park. A city functioning for the whims and desires of one family. And if you don't praise them you'll see how modern & progressive their response will be!
The movie and the content are good, and I showed it at a conference. No, I did not notice the presence of the map that harms and insults our countries, the Arab Gulf countries. This is a fact, even if you or you wrote that the Persian Gulf is a disaster that needs to be corrected and restored.
Thanks for the comment. Citizenship is a governmental policy that doesn’t really relate to the city itself and it’s urban design and history, that’s why we don’t cover those aspects here.
1:05 what you said right here needs to be revised. Abu Dhabi is the largest /ruling of the Emirates and the Al Nahyan family should be considered in this.

How I wish some African leaders can learn the importance of vision from the leader of Dubai.
It’s a magical city!
Well done
Fine video clip...
8:39 I’m confused, did you mean to say they use the most energy per capita?
Wonderful ❤
Dubai is king of cities ❤
I’ve been to Dubai twice and I am thinking of moving there permanently 😅
Great content
I low key want to visit Dubai now
Dubai is something only the shallow would admire. If development for you is concrete jungles, a lot of lights and glass then Dubai is your place. It has no soul and never will. It's a dictator's amusement park. A city functioning for the whims and desires of one family. And if you don't praise them you'll see how modern & progressive their response will be!
True words right here
The movie and the content are good, and I showed it at a conference. No, I did not notice the presence of the map that harms and insults our countries, the Arab Gulf countries. This is a fact, even if you or you wrote that the Persian Gulf is a disaster that needs to be corrected and restored.
WOOOOOOOOOW 🤗💙🌎
i see Dubai like that dream city you build from scratch in the middle of the desert in the simcity games
Perhaps you should have also mentioned how one can’t get a citizenship there although it’s a diverse international city??
Thanks for the comment. Citizenship is a governmental policy that doesn’t really relate to the city itself and it’s urban design and history, that’s why we don’t cover those aspects here.
Thats was pretty intresting
1:05 what you said right here needs to be revised. Abu Dhabi is the largest
/ruling of the Emirates and the Al Nahyan family should be considered in this.

Dubai is an amazing place of opportunities. Very clean, safe and modern. Just need to open a few casinos 😬
Gambling is a mental disease and outlawed by our blessed religion that is Islam.
Thats the last thing Dubai should do.
It would be a great city if not for the archaic laws and indentured labour
From where they are getting so much water for construction
From sea I guess .. by processing sea water into clean water ..
Dubai succeeded the same way Hong Kong did: low taxes and lots of freedom with the government out of the way. Also helps to pay off the Western media.
It serves as an inspiration for Africans if they are willing to be productive
What is background music?
Hindus should not be allowed in UAE(Dubai,Abu Dhabi).they should be thrown out of Dubai And abuddhabi and all other Arab countries.

Dubai is truly the best city in the world thanks to such great vision and execution from its leaders.
