    I realise the clue is in the name for this channel, but I'd sometimes love to see urban projects that aren't targeted at the ultra wealthy. Sure, you've mentioned some public transport and green spaces etc in this one which would benefit everyone, but it would be nice to see more examples of money being spent to benefit the average citizen (not just in Dubai, anywhere). I enjoy watching these to hear about the technology and design involved more than the unnecessary luxury of a lot of the hotels and resorts.

      it's hard, because mega projects are expensive, and they want to get their money's worth + Dubai targets wealthy individuals, so it wouldn't make sense to do mega projects for average individuals when the whole city is for the wealthy, except for education, transportation, and Greenland.

    The coral reef and plantation make sense for Dubai but the rest are just targeted for the rich and unlike Atlantis, Burj Khalifa and Burj Al Arab. They are just ridiculous ideas to prove they have a lot of money but doesn't have really any impact on humanity. As a past resident in Dubai, the traffic is a huge issue and people cannot live without a car in Dubai unless they live and work near a metro station which is rarely. The idea for the transportation is to be connected to other nearby cities such as Sharjah, Ajman and even Abudhabi so the population can be distributed properly since Dubai is so small to have 3 million people. I would also like to see their plan on the plant house and how they are going to face the desertation as its a major problem in the UAE.

    • @alenezi989a3
      @alenezi989a3 Год назад +2

      The loop is for everyone to use, the railways and development of the urban cities are for everyone, which one of the projects you saw here was for the rich? Burj al Arab and Atlantis are luxurious hotels not mega projects so yeah they are gor rich people, and Burj Khalifa is a business center. Most of these mega structures if not all are for the improvement of the entire city and everyone living in it. Except for the moon thing which I don't get the purpose of honesty.

What will be the carbon footprint of the latter?

      @@Joebakabasementgaming Do I really need to explain myself? Dubai is the very symbol of self-indulgence with no regard for reality. Excess and consumption refined. It's a failed city with absolutely no respect for global or local environment and will be under water, not if, when. Its "city planning" is based on American grids, which demonstrably is the worst in the world. The severe flooding and rain that happened earlier this year is *nothing* compared to what's coming.

    looks very cool and futuristic. Not to be a downer but this also depends on significant oil profits being sustained another 20-40 years, with ample margins for these elites there based on very very cheap slave labour. It's not a sustainable model. Hope im wrong, and that they can still fund all this extravaganza but with proper human rights and without reliance on oil. I dont see what else they have, I dont think tourism will be enough to fund all this.

An economy so dependent on fossil fuels, so much electricity needed to cool down in order to make it bearable for the people living there, not a lot of natural water resources, very car dependent, sand for the infrastructure must be imported. This all creates a very fragile and unsustainable system coupled with attention seeking megalomania projects that often sound too ambitious and too good to be true

      I mean it's their country what should they do? Immigrate? To where? They're using their money to make their lives better and they welcome everyone to come live there. Also most of these projects are being built to be completely dependent on renewable energy as it's said in the video.

    Mind blowing, fascinating and all! But at what cost and impact to the environment? First, they created artificial islands in the sea, thus destroying the marine life and all its marine ecosystems. Now they want to 'restore them back' by creating the new "Dubai Reef" project. What an irony indeed. And where will they source out their proposed 1billion corals and 100 million mangrove trees? From poor developing countries again, of course!

    So, they want to plant trees inside a closed, air-conditioned tunnel? How's using more air-conditioning friendly to the environment?

    Honestly Dubai has some impressive projects but the problem with Dubai in general is that its not really built for people. Sure there are impressive projects but they are all connected by big highways. The walking highway is probably the most useful project that actually will improve Dubai's infrastructure. Dubai needs to first fix their transportation infrastructure and then build impressive projects.

    the idea of a health care city should scare everyone; it's so dystopian. The poorest will be left in the regular hospitals with no funding and worse staff. But the ultra rich elites of Dubai can take a helicopter trip over to the luxurious health care skyscraper with the best funding, likely larger amounts of medicine and medical supplies if there's ever a scarcity, and the best staff in all the country.
    This is just another project that blatantly tells us the poorest of Dubai should be eradicated and the richest deserve nothing but the best. The gulf states truly are a fucked society

They find jobs that can actually give them enough money to live. And they dont get taxed dry unlike the west. Please stop typing random sh!t about topics that you have no knowledge on
