      I think he is second behind Cruyff. He won Barca their first European cup and the only one without Messi. He won 4 Spanish titles in 8 years at Barca which isn’t on Sir Alex’s level but equals the same ratio of 1 title every 2 years. What makes Cruyff better though in my opinion is that he was the man behind La Masia as well as reinstating Ajax as one of the best youth systems in the world. As a result of Cruyff’s actions as manager of both Ajax and Barca both youth academies produced the core group of both the Dutch and Spanish side that played in the World Cup final in 2010. Not only that Ajax have become the best Dutch side as a result of their strong youth recruitment in the years after Cruyff left. Since cruyff has left Barca they have had their most successful period in their clubs history largely thanks to La Masia that he set up. Cruyff’s total football is also the main influence behind the most successful manager of this decades tactics in Guardiola. Even though Sir Alex has a bigger trophy cabinet, cruyff legacy is far greater and his ideas on how a club should be run and how football should be played will probably be the inspiration behind countless more world class managers.

    This man prevented me from going through depression during my school days. He made me fall in love with Man United and gave me a community of friends, who always united with one another during match days to forget about what else was going on with our lives.
    Our fanbase was as united as our team on the pitch. No matter who played, we knew we would get at least an average performance from that player. There wouldn't be a need for any fan cams or fan channels, as we all would be having the same opinion after every match day.
    Looking at it now, it shows how much has changed. Our fans are divided like America, our players get scapegoated and thrown under the bus every week, Our manager, even though he tries his best, could never replicate what this legend has done.
    I really hope one day, we can get back to some sort of glory as a United fan.

    easily the best manager of all time in my opinion. There was a debate between who was the best, and I know Johan Cruyff, Bill Shankly, Matt Busby or even Pep Guardiola were up there. But seriously, if anyone could make it to the top while adapting with all kind of situations, build up an entire empire from ashes, winning lots of trophies using youngsters, create hall of famers, define a whole new concept of playing, it should be Fergie

    • @callum5392
      @callum5392 3 года назад +1

      Great comment. Busby, Shankly and Cloughy are real contenders for this, but Fergie was a consistent mastermind of the game. There was no manager/coach who came near him in terms of knowledge of the premier league or European Football for that matter, and this is bitterly written by an NUFC fan

    His parting gift to Man U was appointing Sir Davey Moyes, and just for that we salute him. It’s my belief that Fergie did so to make his own standing with United fans even higher, because the contrast in success between his era and a loser in Moysie was always going to be huge. Had he appointed a top manager the contrast would have been small (in fact his record would have been inferior to Klopp had the great man accepted the job) and he wouldn’t have been missed. Because tripe has followed him he has been greatly missed by the Man U brethren, especially with English, European and world champions Liverpool back on our perch. My goodness Fergie is one shrewd operator.

    I'm going to get ALOT of hate for this....
    He left the club with an old defence and no midfield. City, Liverpool and Chelsea were spending and signing to build and challenge for the title and furgie bought one great striker in the last few seasons. Where was evra, rio and vidic replacements, where was Scholes and giggs replacements? Moyse was fucked from the start. And because of how bad moyse did it it made furgie looked even better. The way furgie wanted it.
    And I support Manchester United.

Sure, none of them bar RvP did too well, but Fergie got the best out of them and expected Moyes to do so too. The only thing Fergie did wrong was choose to hire Moyes. Remember that.

    As a 15 year old for most of 1992, from then on all I saw was Man United pissing all over most teams most weeks, culminating in the treble in 1999 when I was 21 years old. At the time, all I knew in my adult life was Man United winning nearly every week and nearly always winning the league. I had no idea about the job Alex Ferguson was doing at the time and that's why we were so good. The last 10 years without him has been a massive wakeup call. I am even more of a Man United fan now than I was then, despite us being nowhere near the team we were under this manager. It will come back around.
