- In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)

That said, excellent presentation. Shoutout to all the Miss Marsha's out there
Helping my child see himself. ❤
'We were designed to relate, to be connected to one another. To love and to be loved.' Beautiful words I am only now late in life realising.
"Ultimately, we were designed to love and be loved." Amen Erica.
Beautiful talk! It inspires me to remember how much influence I have over my nieces just through the power of love and modeling resilience myself. Thank you!
This talk made me cry and gave me chills. What a powerful story of the importance of attachment!
As the son of a very dysfunctional mother, I can affirm, we as children have to battle with lifelong scars of poor parenting.
I am product of that as well, unfortunately.
Yes we do 😔
However it’s said that once we transcend that from a place of acceptance and understanding, we’re much stronger then those who never endured the emotional and physical battles we have. It really is a blessing in disguise
Thank you Erica. What academic research explain you told us in human way. Beautiful talk.
I hope to be the "Miss Marsha" to others. You are an excellent communicator. Thank you, Erica
Yes...and a very painful process for the child to reset this early lack of attachment in later life if they are lucky enough to find a skilled enough practitioner to help them. I was in care for my 1st 9 months then adopted into a chaotic environment where let's just say that things happened which definitely shouldn't have. A whole lot of work is involved to undo this yet it's a humbling and amazing experience to move through. Life beckons. 🌈
I'm Happy you're in a better place now
sukhmanicambridge: Such a relief to know the early lack of attachment can be ‘undone’: i am not at all certain what this looks like, but desperately need these answers.
Thank you.
Wonderful, Erica! Your story of Miss Marsha had be crying. It was so moving and powerful and true! Hugs.
Beautiful way to explain attachment

-Disruptions in early attachments
9:43- children can't necessarily tell you what they remember at a young age, but their bodies remember.
Think this at 52.
Interesting - thank you. We have a channel where we discuss Psychology, attachment, resilience and children in state care etc. Any support is appreciated.
