- Welcome to what is most likely my very last before and after home tour 2021, for our current home, before we move to our new home, called Sugarwood. I can't wait to show you the changes we made over three years to our Colonial farmhouse, both inside and out. I am sharing videos from when I first toured the home. I staged the house for the real estate photos and for showings, so I had to put a lot in storage, so it no longer looks cozy. I like to decorate in a simple, classic, elegant, and traditional New England Style I lovingly call - NEFL's Signature Style.
This is a long before and after home tour video, so why not grab a cozy cup of tea or coffee, or your favorite libation and relax for almost 40 minutes. I hope you enjoy the last full home tour before we move. I will still be creating videos for this home and lifestyle channel as I pack and organize.
Future videos from Sugarwood will include more recipes, DIY projects, thrift store finds, home tours, and other beautiful homes and interiors that I come across during my New England travel destinations. and your kind generous spirit. Your channel is a breath of fresh air. I noticed that immediately over a year ago. So much looking forward to new content and your new home.
Now you just made me tear up! LOL I have felt a little sad here and there when I think of certain things and memories, but I truly felt an amazing draw and connection to our new home and know it will be just as special once Ben and I put our personal touches in and around the home.
Just a personal answer to your question about how hard it is to leave one home (that heart & soul went into decorating it.) for another. For me and I’m sure for Linda too, it isn’t so conflicting, rather it’s exciting to be getting on with a new project. An Adventure!

I could not sell a home I put my heart & soul into. So many renovations carefully thought out and implemented. As one other commented, I hope you won’t regret giving this home up for one you barely saw. The new owners are very lucky.

Thank for your prayers 🙏 I too was so busy with life I couldn't see what was in front of me. When my daughter passed away I saw everything differently. I was amazed of all the beauty in front of me. I slowed down and saw the beautiful mountains, trees, our land. Listening to the birds chirping. Every little creature everything God created. . God is amazing I hear him when he talks to me when I am still. He's teaching me to be humble, kind , patience, love, forgiveness, humility, mercy for others. I'm still learning and my heart and soul is eager to learn more.Thank you I love your walks and talks. May God Bless you and your family 🛐✝️🙌🕊️🫶

We love it too, and it will certainly be hard to leave, but we are looking forward to creating new and more memories where Ben gets his land, and I get an even older house to make into our home.
I will really miss this house, especially the large gorgeous kitchen, the sitting area with its hunt scene toile and board and batten moulding, the warm ambience of the fireplace in the dining room, the new built-ins upstairs and the stately front facade and lovely landscaping. It all so captures the feeling in New England. Since so much of it was enhanced by you, I have no doubt you can transform your new house into a showstopper as well! Good luck and I’m looking forward to all your great ideas to make your next house a warm and inviting home!
P.S. Love that unique landscape wallpaper in the breakfast area of the new house....it was so strikingly beautiful! Hope you can keep it or do something similar somewhere else. Thanks so much for sharing it all with us!

The cobblestones are still on several streets in downtown Boston. That snowstorm was May 16th, we got 8” of snow…just crazy.

The summer tour of the home and gardens was delightful! i am going to miss this New England home but you have made such a big mark on it, bringing it current with such room changes and updates that I understand your need to move on. Please take the mantle of your childhood home. You can always use it as a faux fireplace in a kitchen or bedroom or in an outbuilding in a she shed. Have another mantle replicated to match or designed like this one for the new buyer. Looking forward to seeing you work on each new room of your new old home. Best to you always on your upcoming move. It is very stressful to sell and purchase and move, so some fun R & R time travel is definately in order.
I enjoyed everything about this house, the history of it, seeing the changes you’ve made here and there, hearing about the future projects you wanted to do, the seasonal decorating, the garden area outside - all of it!

My 27 yr old is special needs (autism) he keeps his room so clean and minimal things around.

Great tour, it's a farewell ... Tip for your shower door cleaner: add a few drops of your favorite essential oil to your recipe. Vinegar smell no more as the oil neutralizes the odor without affecting the cleaning power.
The renovations on your house is stunning! I would have a hard time leaving it as it's just perfect now! You have a great eye for color and detail.

When I sold my home I had to do repairs and stage it for sale. It was so hard for me to move. I liked my home after I got it livable again. Your home is my dream home, it's beautiful.

Love your home! In Minnesota if you show the home with hardwired lights you have to sell them with the home. Meaning….be sure to exchange them before you put the home on the market. 😁
Unless we write it in as an exclusion, anything attached has to go with the home here too. I had to write it in a list along with my peonies ;-)
Living in Boston myself, I absolutely LOVE THIS HOME ❤️. Our home was built in 1861 and rumor is PRESIDENT LINCOLN stayed the night here!

You are fortunate to be able to store your goodies inside. I have my Christmas decor in my she shed. I don’t like having some fragile pieces outside. But I had decided if we weren’t using it in the house it was going in the shed.
In our new old house, ours it out in a barn now too. This video was a couple years back.
