- I thought I would give you a peek into our great room, where I decided to set up table for our family's Thanksgiving meal, but first I had to move some furniture around. I also finished the Thanksgiving tree and the Thanksgiving garland over the fireplace mantel and I wanted to show you how to wire a chandelier so that it can be plugged in into the wall.

It is so nice to see a Thanksgiving video. I loathe Christmas decor of any kind prior to Thanksgiving. I never understood the desire to rush the season. Oct is for Halloween, November is for Thanksgiving and Dec is for Christmas. They all have merit.
Love the tree! I am one of the die hard “do not decorate until after Thanksgiving” people. Your style of decorating from nature is so much more elegant and and challenging. Dang, woman, nothing stops you! Rewire the chandelier, rearrange a room full of furniture. I wish I had your determination and stamina!
So glad you are not skipping over Thanksgiving……I hope you continue to give us Thanksgiving ideas in the coming years!
Thank you for keeping Thanksgiving at Sugarwood
I simply love the music that
runs through your video.
It makes your setting have a Medieval theme… which I love.
Thanks Linda 🍂🌼🧡🥧🍂
Please list the music source/name.
I love how you set up for your Thanksgiving meal with your family. I would also like to thank you for staying in the moment and not jumping into Christmas decorating as early as others. Your house is turning into your home. Hope you have a blessed Thanksgiving.
I love that you have fall decor for Thanksgiving. I think fall decor lends itself to Thanksgiving so much better than Christmas decorations. Everything looks amazing!
You are amazing and unafraid to tackle jobs involving electricity! I would have left the star light over the table and not even thought about changing it. The idea of a “fall” indoor tree with elements from your yard is a lovely idea. Everything looks lovely, and I’m sure your family will enjoy their time together.
Linda, your home is so lovely. You make everything so special for your family. I really appreciate your channel and have learned so many things from you over the last year. Thank you.. and may the love of Christ Jesus and the hope of His soon return.. fill your heart and your home this holiday season and always.
Linda, I am happy to watch the transformations in your new home and I do not cease to admire you, you have many skills...you are a designer, a builder, an electrician, a gardener, a cook, you have so much talent...delighted!
This is the one sight I just can’t wait to see every week. Just such beautiful things to see and love the decorations. Thank you….
I agree on the holidays. I stick to appreciating each holiday in its own right and blessing. I like to savor each one for what it was meant to be. To me, Thanksgiving “is” Thanksgiving, “not” Christmas. It is a time to celebrate our blessings, remember our history and our own family’s journey . I love each holiday’s individual decorations colors, seasons beauty and special foods. I love the time and reflection and the anticipation for the coming Christmas that it brings. Beautiful Home, you are truly blessed. So much talent.
I am enjoying watching you create a new home in the gorgeous new space. Live the idea of a thanksgiving tree. Never thought of spray painting dried flowers and foliage. 🦃🧡 thank you for the great idea!
Love this video! Can’t believe how quickly you have made this such a cozy and beautiful home- looks like you have been living in Sugarwood for years! Am looking forward to all you will show and teach us- in your creative, tasteful and classy way!😊❤️thankyou!
I love enjoying each holiday for it's uniqueness. In the past few years Christmas has inched closer & closer toward Thanksgiving, with 2020-2021 seemingly intent on skipping Thanksgiving all together. I'm glad to see you enjoying this beautiful autumn holiday and soaking in every drop of fall left before winter sets in. I am definitely kindred spirit. Love the new house and the idea of a Thanksgiving tree. Best wishes to you and your family. Thank you for the Video.
“No one is more determined than a woman rearranging furniture by herself.” I just finished flipping our rooms for the holidays so I can extend our table for 12 chairs. The week before is a fantastic idea for our grown children that live out of town and state. A great idea for next year. Thanks for sharing it!
Where did you learn to be so handy and knowledgeable about repairs that you tackle? Electrical, doors, fireplace, you amaze me!
I must say. I loved that house before you moved in. But since you’ve been there, making it your own, it is so much more soft and elegant. I know you still have work to do. But, what you’ve done so far is awe-inspiring. And, thank you for all of the wonderful “Willow footage”. 😊
I can feel how your house is becoming a home. Thank you for all of the beauty and practical teachings you share all year long. The world is a bit chaotic and I can always rely on your videos to bring calm and beauty into my morning. I am looking forward to your Christmas ideas!!!
I am so excited to see you doing Thanksgiving, Linda!!!💖
You are such a little dynamo making the house your very own, oozing with an autumnal Thanksgiving atmosphere - absolutely exquisite!!! Love your tree💖.
I knew the chandelier would light, but still let out a little squeal with your success😉.
Like you, our family has celebrated "Early Thanksgiving" for twenty five+ years now! Initially to gather extended family, too, the plan then served us well as kids married and grandchildren came along💝.
I love that you do the same🧓!!
Chuckled when you spoke of putting desserts up high. One year, our four-yr-old grandson managed to eat six brownies and leave some chocolate finger prints on the wall!! Mommy and G'ma weren't keeping an eye, while we were all visiting lol!!!
Thank you so much for sharing your Thanksgiving plans with us!
🤗🤗🤗 -Susan
Sugarwood is just beautiful - I love experiencing New England in the fall on your channel. Watching you journal at 5:30 am makes me wonder what time you go to sleep at night!
Hi Pam, most nights around 10:00am or so, but I also have insomnia, so I sometimes stay up later with hopes of sleeping 4 to 5 hours.
I love the way you get things done. You find a way to make it happen--furniture moving, electrical work--way to go girl.
Excellent video. Not only do we get a true Thanksgiving video in November (thank you for holding off on Christmas like some of the rest of us), but we learned how to wire a light fixture. That's something I needed to know. Happy Thanksgiving, Linda. Enjoy your time with family.
Such a thoughtful thing to do having an early Thanksgiving. I suggested this to my mother in law and family without success. Traveling on the holiday is so dangerous and stressful and being able to create my own traditions has been difficult.
I just get goosebumps watching the metamorphosis of sugarwood. Just beautiful!
The tree is beautiful. To me that is a Christmas tree as I always decorate with what nature has to offer… it’s gorgeous! Sugarwood …wow what a home; it’s magnificent, enjoy. As your other followers have said, thank you for celebrating Thanksgiving. 🤎🥧🧡🦃💛
Hello Linda, everything looks lovely thank you for sharing I enjoy your videos. Have a Blessed Thanksgiving.
I love the spray painted hydrangeas. I have several bushes and would never thought of doing that. Thank you for sharing your ideas and giving us all inspiration. Your family must be looking forward to Thanksgiving in your new home and celebrating a week earlier certainly takes the pressure off.
Hello Linda! Your home is beautiful! I greatly appreciate your sentiments regarding “not rushing the seasons “ for me, decorating for the season is one of the many ways we can bring attention to the season & what it represents. It creates a visual reminder of what we are celebrating & why adding decor helps set the seasons apart distinguishing it from the everyday! Happy thanksgiving to you and your family.
Linda, Love living in the moment... Thank you. I don’t decorate for Christmas until after Thanksgiving, call it a tradition.🍁 Love your Thanksgiving tree it’s beautiful.. I love Queen Bess.. You have such a great eye for decorating. Happy Thanksgiving my friend.🦃 Can’t wait to see what you have bought for Sugar wood.
Linda, you are wonder woman! Refined but earthy, smart, savvy yet vulnerable. What's not to love and admire. It is so kind & understanding to hold your Thanksgiving ahead of tradition to make it easier for family members to gather, relax & enjoy time spent. You & your husband are transforming "Sugarwood" into the grand lady she is meant to be. Thanks for letting us tag along. Happy Thanksgiving!!
The house is absolutely cozy. You are an electrician too ♥️. I just love the way everything looks. The great room is amazing ...it will be like visiting an old Inn for Thanksgiving how fabulous. Side note Linda, I bought the battery candles for all over my house and love them. Thank you so much for sharing all you know and your many talents. Happy Thanksgiving 🦃🍁🍽
I also bought the battery candles after you mentioned them and they are perfect, no fuss and look great! Thank you
@@deniseconnors8124 Aren’t they great I’m enjoying them and I put them on a timer. So nice that Linda told us about the candles
Thank you thank you for not skipping Thanksgiving!!!!🥰🥰🥰
I love your calm demeanor while demonstrating the wiring, I would have been anxious.
What I like about your house is that not everything is stark white! There is lots of contrast between the rich dark woods and then lighter colors on the walls. It makes it more interesting and much cozier! Plus, the natural elements and your taste in furniture add alot of class. Looks great - Keep it up!!
I just love the great room Linda, you will have a wonderful thanksgiving I’m sure!
It’ll be even more beautiful when you have finished decorating it, can’t wait to see it!
Linda…I watch your videos over and over and just love style and renaissance abilities. Thanks so much for sharing.
Thank you so much and you're welcome!
I'll say it again----- You amaze me. So many skills combined with your vision, and everything turns out just right.
I certainly agree with all the others and you regarding taking one day at a time and living in the moment. Thank you for letting us enjoy each holiday and its own time without rushing ahead to the next one. Our society has become so rushed never really enjoying what is before them. Sugarwood is certainly coming together with all of your special little Linda touches that you do. Will enjoy watching you over the months ahead as you make it yours more and more. Happy Thanksgiving!😊🍁🌻
The house looks so cozy and inviting. Thank you so much for inviting us into your home😀 and educating us with home decor, crafty projects and home improvement projects.
I love how warm your home is. I always wait until after Thanksgiving to put out Christmas decorations. Blessings.
I LOVE the great room! So cozy and warm with the wood paneled walls.
Your home is looking so warm & inviting already!! You’ve done so much already!! I hope you enjoy your first Thanksgiving at Sugarwood! 🧡🦃🤎
Thanks for sharing Linda. I loved this video … the music, your voice… it’s all so relaxing. I enjoy watching the preparations before the special day arrives. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving.
Thank you Linda, you too!
Just beautiful and warm and cozy! I too am happy that u r living in the moment and haven’t put Christmas up yet.
You've created the most beautiful and inventive Thanksgiving decor I've ever seen. Thank you--you've inspired me.
Love your home and your style. Although I'm looking forward to your Christmas videos, I'm delighted to see you enjoying the fall and Thanksgiving season. Blessings to you and your family.
Debbie said everything I wanted to say down to the last bit of determination and stamina. One of my favorite episodes.
Thank you so much for Keeping your fall and Thanksgiving Decor up and being in the moment! Fall is my favorite season and Thanksgiving my favorite holiday! I love your tree and how you honor the season!
Yay someone like me that has a Thanksgiving tree and cherish the holiday without rushing the next one!
Lovely Linda! Ty for sharing. Yes, living in the moment is lovely and I need to do to stay grounded and to slow down. Appreciate you showing your Thanksgiving preparations. Your new home is starting to feel cozy and like 'home'. So happy for you. Glad you shoo-ed Willow away when spraying with paint fumes.
Your kitchen/ room set up with table in center, tree, hutch and chandelier, is so beautiful. I like the arrangement of everything in both rooms. The garland over the fire place mantel as well with the naturals materials sprayed with those colors is so pretty. I'm throughly enjoying your new home with ideas and projects. Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours.
I wonder if people realize that commercialism is setting the the pace for early Christmas. Stores want to get to the big spending as soon as possible. Living in the moment allows us to savor all the good things God has given us, without any push to acquire more. Thanks for the great idea of celebrating early to lessen the rush for family members.
Everything looks great! I get up at 6AM and it's all I can do to get myself and the kids out the door. Wish I had enough motivation to do something like journaling in the morning. I've always believed that either you're a morning person or your not. Enjoy your first Thanksgiving in your beautiful new home Linda!
It is so interesting watching your ideas come together. The great room is a wonderful place to set up your tables for your thanksgiving. Your tree and garland are beautiful. The flowers you sprayed were the perfect touch. I loved learning how you put up your chandelier. Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family. Enjoy your peaceful home and day. Thank you.
I sat down so very tired from all my housework today and I have become so relaxed ...watching, listening and enjoying your video visit today. I love your new home!!!! It already is one!!!! Thank you👵🏡🦋
We have Thanksgiving and Christmas the week before, just like you so our grown children can make their own traditions., love what you share!
Love all of your decorations, your music and instructions on how to create the looks!
You are AMAZING-WIRING is yet ANOTHER skill in your toolbox 🧰!! I LOVE the idea of using the Great Room there is SO much space in there for everyone and even comfy chairs when someone might need to take a break! I especially loved when you clapped after the chandelier wiring was completed-I was clapping and excited for you before I saw your hands clapping 👏!! Everything is moving along nicely, what a fortunate man your husband is in talented you!!! Happy Thanksgiving Linda, I am SO thankful I have discovered you and your channel! 🦃🍁
Beautiful Tree! You are doing such a great job making this your home in such a short amount of time! Everything is looking wonderful and I enjoy watching all the changes!
This has been a study in pure elegance.
I do soooo agree with the "live in the moment" philosophy.
I'm loving all your ideas. I didn't think you could find a house to top the one you sold, but I love this house. The natural elements on the tree are beautiful.
Beautiful! Thanks Lisa for all the inspiration. Your home is as beautiful as you.
I really appreciate your taking the time to honor the Thanksgiving holiday. Even though I realzie that the typical Thanksgiving story has been altered to gloss over the horrible things which happened to the native people, I so much enjoy this holiday with an emphasis on being thankful for the abundance in our lives. Unfortunately retailers downplay this holiday for economic reasons and I find this unfortunate. Wishing you a wonderful time with your family!
Southern Living couldn't hold a candle to you. Beautiful! Nature was more valuable to you than money. A very comfortable, warm, inviting atmosphere. So was the menu as equally inviting. I love it!
🍂🍁HAPPY THANKSGIVING!🍁🍂
Your home looks so welcoming and warm! What every homemaker strives for! Happy Thanksgiving! Hugs🌸
Your choice of music is perfectly lovely. Such good taste. 💙
Linda, You have an abundance of talent and creativity. This was one of my favorite of your videos! Your family will have a warm and wonderful Thanksgiving, and Sugarwood is being loved and celebrated for the Grande Dame that she is.
Absolutely beautiful Linda. What a perfect room to have Thanksgiving dinner in 😊🍽🦃.
Linda, you and your husband are so considerate having Thanksgiving early. It can be a total nightmare bouncing between families on these holiday days.
Love the idea of using your Great Room, it will be perfect! And you tree turned out so beautiful! I look forward to each of your videos, always inspiring and educational!!!
I am amazed how organized and settled in you already are into your new home. When we moved in to our current home, I wouldn't think of entertaining for months as there was so much to do. You are amazing!
I have multiple Christmas trees but only did a thanksgiving tree once. Those natural elements really made the tree. I may do that this year since I will have guests for the first time.
Linda, you home is looking so festive and beautiful. When I think of you working with hydrangeas, it reminds me of my youngest brother John, who died, at 63. He had gorgeous hydrangeas in his front yard. He always picked a big box after drying them, and send them to me! Some I still have. All good memories of a sweet brother. Thank for sharing your new home with us! 💕🍂🍁
What a wonderful memory. Thank you for sharing!
I can't tell you how much I appreciate this video!! I was really disappointed when all I've been watching is Christmas/Holiday videos for the past few days . . just skipping right over Thanksgiving :( Just wonderful!! Thank you for such a nice video and the house looks fabulous :) ! Sorry for the edit I forgot to add how gorgeous the Thanksgiving Tree Is!
Nothing like a New England Thanksgiving......officially homesick. ❤️ Best to you and yours, kindred spirit! ❤️
So glad you did another Thanksgiving video.
Your tree is beautiful along with your home.
So cozy. Nothing more cozy and warm than a New England Thanksgiving. 🦃🍁🍂
That Fall tree is a stunner. I still love the traditional colonial decor I grew up with, but I redecorated in modern farmhouse and love that too. The Colonial theme plays especially well with me during the Winter holidays, probably because it reminds me of my childhood 🥰 SET AN EXTRA PLACE FOR ME 👍🏻
Oh Linda! How beautiful, how elegant and yet, so welcoming and comforting. You Rock,. Makes me yearn for my former historic home in New England.
Great job Linda! Look forward to ur videos, ur style is a lot like mine! Appreciate ur ideas. God bless, John 3:16
Absolutely beautiful. Your guests will feel so warm and cozy.....
Your new home is looking absolutely beautiful. I love how you have things set up for your Thanksgiving. Linda, you are a master of all things. You amaze me at all the things you do around your home . Have a wonderful Thanksgiving with your family .
You have captured the best of the season. Your home is cozy, beautiful and festive .. most of all peaceful. Hope you enjoy your new environment.
Your dining room is so Enchanting & Beautiful! The chandelier looks like the finishing touch in the room! Just love your decorating touches! Happy Thanksgiving 🦃🍁
I love your channel. So many practical ideas for decorating, gardening, cooking, etc. I think I will leave the electrical work to the experts. We have an interior home painting project underway and my husband is changing out all of the outlets and we are also replacing the switch-plates. In the process of moving the hutch in my country kitchen, it required removing three of the drawers in order for two big men to move it! I guess it's time to clean it out of items I don't need or use any longer. Off to Goodwill with donations! Keep up the videos, Linda. I am totally inspired!!
Such a magical place! You're doing a lovely job, Linda!😍
Good morning Linda your fall tree 🌲🍁🍂🦃🦉looks beautiful, Linda I know there’s people that have different kinds of style to decorate their house ,but I always love traditional an antique . Your house is so calm, so cozy your house fits in the old traditional Thanksgiving. You are a woman of all trades thank you for sharing your beautiful home with us have a beautiful Thanksgiving 🦃 with your beautiful family. Cannot wait to see your decorations for Christmas🎄🎁. ps thank you for always having classical music in your videos.
Beautiful job! I was born in Massachusetts, I understand a New Englander. That's correct hold off on Christmas, enjoy Thanksgiving first! Me too 🥰🍂🍁🙌👩💻🏡
Your home is absolutely beautiful I also love and look forward to watching your videos. You have inspired me to do a Thanksgiving tree and it came out beautiful hubs loves it too. I find when I’m not home to light it in when it gets dark out he has already done that for me 🧡
Happy Thanksgiving to you and everyone on this channel, enjoy 🦃
Thank you for sharing your beautiful Autumn decorating! I,too, have all my fall decorating still in place. This is my favorite time of year so I want to enjoy it for as long as possible. Christmas will come out after Thanksgiving. I hope you have a wonderful time with your family.
i'm enjoying watching you make your new house into your home. The Thanksgiving tree is stunning! Everything looks so beautiful and I love how you find a perfect place for everything. Will we be seeing your Thanksgiving tablescape? I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving dinner!! Looking forward to your Christmas decor.
Thank you, thank you for not rushing us into Christmas. I sometimes feel pressured into keeping up with you tube folks to decorate so early. I, like you, like to live in and enjoy the moment. Have a very blessed Thanksgiving and thank you for sharing your lovely home.
I love the idea of spray painting the flowers.
Absolutely lovely what you have accomplished in your new home in such a short time. How beautifully you display (and use) the things you have collected over the years. Can sense the calm and peaceful atmosphere around Sugarwood inside and out. Your video has lifted my spirits. Writing this comment, noticed that there are only likes---which is exactly as it should be. Happy Thanksgiving!
A great idea to have Thanksgiving a week before. I have mine the weekend after and serve nontraditional food since everyone is tired of turkey by then. Next year, I think I will try it your way so I can enjoy Thanksgiving longer before rushing into Christmas.
loved this am a florist so loved you putting real dried material that you sprayed gold it looks stunning so my thing and being a country girl the pheasent feathers are perfect for that rustic look i also love diy fixing things your chandelier is stunning well done you linda sugarwood is gorgeous
Thanks so much for the chandelier idea. I have so many brass chandeliers I want to do this with. I knew there was a reason I wanted to hold on to them. Neat idea. Thanks again
I love how you’re able to use cuttings from your garden to decorate. The only item that I can forage is pine cones because my yard is filled with evergreen drought resistant plants, since I am in CA.
Hi Linda, You have a beautiful, cozy home. It’s turning out fabulous ❤️
Thank you so much for sharing Thanksgiving. Everyone always skips this holiday for decorating. Your house is getting so cozy. Thank you and happy Thanksgiving to you and your family ❤🤗
Your home is warm and inviting. It reminds me of the colonial taverns here in southern VA. Hospitality is #1!
I absolutely love your channel, been a long-time subscriber and I never get tired of watching your videos. They’re always so informative, relaxing and very inspirational. I’m glad you don’t mix up the holidays too, I always wait till the day after thanksgiving to take down my fall decor and start putting up my Christmas decorations. I’m 74 and still look forward to decorating for the holidays, my friends are all doing less and less each year but I seem to be doing more and more 😂. I’ve been thrifting for the past 50 years and have some really great finds. Thank you for all you do and best of luck and good health at Sugarwood; looking forward to seeing more of you and Sugarwood ❤️
Enjoy!
I love your channel. I love seeing what you are doing in your “forever home.”
