To our Children's children was the first record ever to accompany the astronauts who were the second crew to go to the moon . Probably because it was written in commemoration to the first moon landing. John Lodge once said they borrowed a recording of the sound of a rocket taking off from NASA for the instrumental intro but found a better way to reproduce the sound in the studio.
Fan since 1966. Have all albums, vhs, 8 tracks, cassettes, c.d.s, some 45's yet. Just wish the whole world understood them and lived that way. Let me know if you can find a swearing word....
@@rmoore1686 I ordered the remastered version CD. Should be here today. The remastering makes a huge difference. Louder, clearer, sharper. You hear little things in the background that you never noticed before. My brother had the cassette in 1971 and it brings back a lot of memories. It has stood the test of time. Moody Blues are up there with the Beatles as one of the greatest musical groups of all time.
The Moody Blues Will Always Be In The Top 3 Bands In The World That I Listen To Because Of Not Only The Words From There Songs But It Really Touches My Heart And Soul Too My Core Being !! ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I loved the Moody Blues because of the songs they sang in the 1960’s and now I love them because of the songs they sang from then on. Their songs became more contemporary and the songs are great.
Why did it take so long for the moody blues to finally get in the hall? Rolling Stone's rating of this bands music, they felt the moody blues music was a joke . I have their rock albums rating book. They are the joke when they let non rock artist in . The moodies should have been in on their first year of eligibility. After so much fan fair, they finally were recognized. Sadly, because it took so long , ray tomas was unable to live to see this. The 7 albums are all brilliant.
I read that Mick Jagger of The Rolling Stones didn’t like the Moody Blues and Jagger had pull with the Hall Of Fame. I’m glad the Moodies finally made it. They deserved it a long time ago.
With the countless millions of fans and record sales, the popularity of the moody blues, no reason why it took so long . No excuses by the hall. Even if mick did not like them.

This is my second favourite Moody Blues album after To Our Children’s Children’s Children. Beautiful.
It's definitely grown on me over time ❤

@@TrevorWilliams-fq8mg No, Apollo 8 and 10 orbited the moon.
Apollo 11 was the third to get to the moon.
I agree. I said that.
You should check out Blue Jay's. It's not a Moodies album Justin and John did it. Great album

Same here. Plus, saw them in concert more than any other band.
A realm that separates us from the cruel world in which we choose to be free from the strife of mankind I'm free to float and rejoice. Much love ❤️
God Damn It!
They threw classical music and rock together and changed the sound of music forever.
Me too. Saw them at the Orange County Fairgrounds CA in the mid 80's. Played all my favorites.
This has to be one of the most incredible recordings of all time. The lyrics, the harmonies, the musicianship the production, makes you cry.
Yes, Every Good Boy Deserves Favour songs make me cry because the songs are so beautiful.

Can you imagine what Jethro Tull feels like?
Rolling Stone magazine was never really kind to the Moodies. Can't get into here but trust me I read some mean stuff.
Back in the early 70’s, one Rolling Stone writer described The Moody Blues as The Sistine Chapel of Rock and Roll.
sound quality could be better on my end. over your own home equiptment is over the top some of the best music produced.

Their futile attempt to change a world. It’s the guys at the top need changing.
He who fights begins the end of time...if I heard the lyrics correctly, then I think that's better than Dylan's best.
