1981 was the year Prince Charles married Lady Diana Spencer - the year of the first space shuttle mission - Ronald Reagan was inaugurated as US President (and later the same year, came an assassination attempt on him) - the musical Cats debuted on the West End - the AIDS epidemic officially began - a teenage kid fired six blank rounds at Queen Elizabeth II - MTV premiered... Almost seems like a whole other world.
