Wow, 3 different surgeries, crazy! Yes, I have met others who have had DBS but now have speech problems. I currently am planning no DBS. I feel the PD gloves give lots of benefit. Thanks for sharing your decision. Love the new intro!

  • @Vinoinaglass_yopd

The long journey to deciding on whether to have DBS or not is an incredibly personal decision. Thank you for being so open and honest. We all love and support you JMac ❤. We’re all in this together.

  • @user-ti9qz4fn4j

I always love your videos and appreciate your honesty and humor. We need your voice!

  • @jackmcloraine5354

I can’t say I’m surprised by your decision, Jeremy. Seemed like you had concerns early on. I totally respect your thought process and know you looked at it from every angle. You’re a special kind of person and hope the best for you. Jack Mack

I respect your well thought out decision not to have DBS. I so enjoy your music, your songs, your stories, your wisdom, and your knowledge, and would miss THE YOU who you are if that changed. I am still in the 3 rd year of my PD journey, and I know that there will be lots of decisions that may have to be made, but one day at a time. I w/ be in my Colonoscopy on 3/29 so may miss your live thing, but w /. Tune in later.

I had to come to a place where it gotten so bad it couldn’t get worse. I was already unable to walk, and the tremor was so bad. It literally shook my entire body. I was already having problems speaking even breathing became labored. Takes what it takes, man.

  • @jo-anneknott4113

You do you Jeremy. I also decided not go down the DBS track . I saw too many people change because of it and I 'd rather just be me.

  • @SF-cg6kn

Seems like a good decision. The outcome of such a major operation seems to heavily influenced by luck. Also the skill and experience of the surgeon - I'm told that the electrodes have to be within 2mm of the target area for a good outcome.

  • @grueneWelt86

Hallo Jeremy, danke für deine lieben Grüße. Danke für deine Worte... Danke

  • @tapehead81

Mate u go for as long as you go. DBS or not. You keep doing the things that you love, spend time with the people you love and live with a sense of purpose for as long as your heart beats (it’s these things that will keep it beating) - love from me xx

  • @stewea57

You need to do what is best for you, sounds like you did your research. They are coming out with focused ultra sound, no surgery. Check it out.

  • @ricksuvanto5009

This makes me think of the conversation we're having up north about quality of life. When do we know Parkinson's has taken it away? For some of us itcs when we're not unable to move, for others It's when it takes away our cognitive skills and then for others like yourself, it's when we lose our voice. This question came up about when to start medication and when not to and I guess it also applies to DBS surgery. We're all different and know what Parkinson's has taken from us and know what we can live with and not live with. Do what's best for you and your family. Decisions are never final. Stay strong.

  • @wandachase3831

    Great intro!

  • @ParkinsonsWigglesProject

Thank you for sharing your thoughts, feelings, and fears about such a deeply personal decision! ♥

  • @tomrio9914

You are still young with many years left to maybe change your mind. I just met a lady at a MJF event this past weekend. She actually told us that she had DBS twice. The second time worked for her. My doctor says I have a five year window. Ultimately it is your decision. All the best always.

  • @GoProGoalieUzi

Valid points buddy!! I’m still waiting to see if I will get another dbs date. Apparently it’s under review. I’m honestly torn on it too. It’s definitely a hard decision. My wife wants me to get it, I know I need it..have to take the chance…keep singing my friend ❤🇨🇦

  • @kendc4725

Sounds like a well reasoned decision. You do have the gift of a DJ voice. Let It Be, indeed!

  • @MyPDDaily

You have the gift of gab! What a blessing! It’s true! All the best!
