Thanks, the tip that tankless heaters use just a pressure relief valve and not a temperature and pressure relief valve was very helpful.

Follow up video coming soon. Replacing pressure relief valve didn’t stop it from spraying water. Turns out the water pressure coming in my house during off hours is causing it to spray. Basically it’s doing its job. I have to install a Pressure Reducing Valve on my water main and that should solve the problem. I will be doing a separate video on that job as well as a follow up video to this problem. Stay tuned!!

The code is for the T&p valve to route outside

Love the fact that a tankless heater is just that: no pressure tank.
Therefore there is never a buildup of pressure to warrant having a relief valve as heat is only generated during flow. It doesn't and cant keep making heat due to the multiple layers of safeguards in place to prevent run on heat saturation.
I've run mine for 20 years now and never a problem. This is just a rule someone came up with to cover their butt just in case and possibly to sell valves.
It's not a pressure vessel in the true sense and doesn't need a relief valve.
No Plummer or boiler maker will ever be able to demonstrate one over-pressurizing and blowing off the valve. Period!

I was looking for what exacly kind of tape and seal or anything the people put to avoid leaks. You don't have to worry about the rest everybody knows about screw it out and screw it in.

Billy, did you have to have a plumber come out to let you know about the additional part needed?

How do you bleed the valve?

If I understand u correctly. Just lift the silver colored handle in the front of the valve to bleed/check it
