Great video! Question for you…Would u know why my heater won’t turn on? There’s no display on circuit board when turned on. Is there a reset button somewhere? Model NR240
@peterhawth, there is a reset procedure, but the unit needs to be on in order to perform it, it sounds as though you have a power supply issue, a bad or shorted connection, a tripped breaker or worst case a burnt out pc board, try confirming the power supply first, it no issue there I suggest contacting Navien customer service, you can usually get a tech to walk you through a few trouble shooting steps, and possibly send you out a replacement part depending on the year of your unit...good luck with that..
Hello, great video. I have a naviam nr210a. This unit keeps blowing the two 5 amp fuses. This the AC line coming in fused at 5 amps ( hot and neutral) I flushed system, cleaned intake filter. But it keeps blowing the fuses. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated! Thank you
Hi, sorry to hear you're having that issue, it sounds to me like the unit is experiencing some sort of short, either at power supply lines or a component, this can sometimes be obvious to recognize with noticeable burn signs in wires or a component, or the total opposite where everything looks just fine, in that case certain tests would need to conducted to determine the cause of the problem. If you're not experienced working with electricity, my best advice is to suggest you call in a professional technician.
@@thediyyardie7192 THANK YOU FOR YOUR REPLY. FYI: ONCE I REPLACED THE TWO 5 AMP FUSES AT THE AC LINE COMING IN, THEN TURN THE UNIT ON. THE UNIT STAYS ON, BUT AS SOON AS I OPEN A FAUCET TO LET WATER RUN, THAT IS WHEN FUSES GET BLOWN AFTER A FEW SECONDS. THERE IS NO BURN SIGNS ANYWHERE. THX
To answer your question no, these units have what's called a flow sensor that detects when the hot water tap is turned on and thus kicks the unit on. The only other reasons I can think of that would cause this could be, a leak some somewhere in your hot water line or faucet , which would be most likely noticeable, a faulty flow sensor, or if your unit is connected to your home heating system, which is possible depending on the type or set up you have.
youve probably got the problem figured out already, but it can be normal for your heater to run intermittently if its been set up for any kind of recirculation. the heater will take a temperature sample about every 30 minutes ( time setting can be changed) and if it senses a drop in the hot water outlet temperature it will kick on trying to reheat the water already in your hot water lines.
I changed one on my home do they intend to wear out with in a year or so? I’m having that same code. I serviced it checked all filters and trap, flushed system with 2 gallons of white vinegar descaling the unit. It turned on for about a minute then shut off. Going to check the flame rod again and see. Thanks!
Hey Angel, it is not supposed to burn out within a year, but anything is possible, somme parts have defects and therefore don't last as long as some others do, best to check it and make sure it is good, at least to confirm if that's the issue or not, good luck with that...
I had it off last night went to turn it on and it turned on but the code now says 046E which is the the High Limit Switch. I ordered it waiting to come in on Thursday to install it myself. Hopefully that makes the system work fine again🙏🏽 Thanks for getting back!

@@ncurtis14 ok sounds good, make sure the temperature on the unit is at the recommended setting, it may have been turned down accidentally.. it could also be an issue with the flow pump, check to make sure that it is operating properly, but the best check to perform would be to use a thermometer, a digital type would work best, you need to check the temperature in three places, with the heat on, at the supply pipe from water heater to radiators, at inlet pipe on radiators, and at the outlet pipes, if temperature is 65 degrees going into radiator, it should about 55 out or a little less coming out. this can also help you to determine where temp loss/blocage issue is located.. keep in touch, let me know what you find..

there are a number of things that can cause that issue, you already eliminated two, others include restricted air intake\filter, you should also listen to make sure ventilation fan kicks on during operation, or some other restriction to the ventilation, or an issue with gas pressure or regulator.
