Terry is honestly much scarier, more sadistic and twisted than Kreese. When Kreese came back, Daniel was no longer intimidated, but when Terry returned he was terrified.
Ofcourse. Terry is still a beast fighter. Daniel knows he can’t beat him and neither can Johnny obviously. Chozen will have to step up big time for the next season
@@nissy9220 that's not the reason because Daniel hasn't seen him in 35 years, he has no idea if Terry can still fight. He's scared because Terry legit mind fucked him before and he has way more ptsd from him than Kreese, who never actually put his hand on Daniel or did anything but make threats from afar. Whereas Terry invaded his life and relationships and manipulated him like clay.
@@nissy9220 knowing how to and being able too are very different things. Though It literally doesn't matter what Daniel said, he can't KNOW silver can still fight 35 years later. He is assuming silver is the same man he was when he saw him, and here's right of course. But he doesn't *know* he can't beat a 60 year old man who he hasn't seen throw a punch in decades. He just knows he's afraid of him because of past experiences.
@@captainmarvelous7678 yeh ofcourse he didn’t know. But it’s irrelevant. Terry silver is still Clearly a beast fighter. Johnny underestimated the competition. He thought he was only fighting someone like kreese. But terry silver is on another level
I think Terry was jealous of Kreese's soft spot for Johnny. He was bitter that it was always about Johnny and never about bringing back the glory days like he was promised. I love that they humanized him and gave him understandable motivations instead of just being a boring villain.
I don’t think Silver was actually jealous. Sure it appeared that way, but that was Silver feigning to get what he wanted. Kreese was playing checkers while Silver played 4D chess.
@@Matt_Moore He's 100% jealous. He was living a happy life, up until Kreese came back, dredged up old war memories and made him feel indebted to Kreese again. He only thought of the idea to frame Kreese after being reprimanded for beating up Johnny. Kreese is a douche, but how many times has he tried to bring Johnny to his side? Why does Johnny get so many freebies from Kreese, while he gets nothing? Silver saw the writing on the wall that Kreese would chose Johnny over him as his any day of the week, and he was fed up with being used.
@@SemiOmni314 Maybe… I just think Silver is too cold and calculated to actually feel real jealousy towards Johnny Lawrence. You could be right though. I agree with all the rest you said, except I am not so sure that the Johnny incident was the moment in which Silver began plotting to overthrow Kreese. That plot might have began much earlier, and the fight with Johnny just served to confirm a weakness in Kreese in which Silvery could exploit. Also I don’t think Silver was really happy. He was doped on medication just going through the motions, and realized something was missing from his life.
@@SemiOmni314 Kreese would definitely have thrown Silver under a bus if he was convinced it would get Johnny to rejoin him. For whatever reason, he really did see Johnny as something of a son to him, and even though he's pretty twisted in his parental methods, he really did try to do the best for Johnny. Silver meanwhile is a narcissistic prick who really only does care about himself... he felt indebted to Kreese for having his life saved in Vietnam, but he feels like he's paid that debt back a thousand-fold. Now, all that matters is showing that he's "the best" by having the best dojo, the winning-est dojo. Whatever it takes.
@@Matt_Moore Yeah, I don't think he cared one way or the other about whether Kreese cared about Johnny, except that once he realized the extent of it, he was willing to cut Kreese out of everything from then on out. It was a weakness, and needed to be surgically removed.
Kreese had that coming to him he treated terry silver like shit. He kept bringing up the fact he saved him from death. He belittled him all because he lost a bet. You is not suppose to talk to a grow man like that. Terry did the right thing get him out his life. You don't need people like that around you.
@@lesterglenn111 Terry Kept LOSING FACE TO HIM in front of the students. NOBODY likes to lose face but when you are a total badass who is used to being powerful and respected your whole life losing face is especially painful. He endured losing face to Kreese several times before finally snapping.
The big clue was when you see him reading the book Leviathan. Quote from the book : “If any two men desire the same thing, which nevertheless they cannot both enjoy, they become enemies;
“Why couldn’t you let sleeping dogs lie” became such a stronger quote after Terry turned on Kreese. Terry was actually doing ok for himself and Kreeses manipulation tactics met his match and backfired on him
When Daniel pissed him off I basically told my friend "Well... Kreese may have woken up the sleeping dog. But Daniel just unleashed the wolf." To me it started there. He was quite okay as a sensei actually, it became serious, as Daniel disrespected him that way.
@@d4rksonic474 Daniel did nothing wrong. Why would he believe Silver's 'apology' (tbh he barely even apologised) when he had just seen him with Kreese, who we know has bad intentions? A lot of Daniel's hatred towards Cobra Kai actually comes from Silver in the first place.
Kreese has to have 100% of the blame, he awakened the beast within a now placid and at peace Silver and then tried to belittle him and manipulate him over what happened in Vietnam constantly. What did he expect😂
The thing that makes Silvers so dangerous is that he's charming and that charm makes a villain more powerful and more deadly because they know how to out smart the good guys.
Silver is willing to go out of his way to get his hands dirty to accomplish his goals. That speaks volumes on his character. He is like Thanos, that he likely would say: "Fine, I'll do it myself."
@@anthonylee5359 Well, that's kinda the Cobra Kai way. But scarily, for the most part, he doesn't need to cheat. He's pretty damn bad-ass just in his skills alone. Miyagi kicks his ass 13/10 times, though.
@@anthonylee5359 LIKE WITH JOHNNY?? We do NOT know for certain that he could have won a FAIR fight. He got a brutal free hit in with that surprise attack (ambush) out of the dark and even though Johnny got up his head was probably spinning which reduced his concentration. He actually put up a decent fight, he countered many of Terry's attacks and got some good hits in himself before losing. Terry also had "home court advantage" as he was much more ready for the fight than Johnny was. Its quite possible that Terry was worried that he could not win a FAIR fight so he cheated with the ambush attack which a fighter with honor would never do. Sato in KK2 was only willing to have a fair fight and never would have ambushed Miyagi like that.
I think Silver will exploit Stingray a great deal. Stingray is in a LOT more debt to Silver than just being let into Cobra Kai. Let's not forget Stingray assaulting his neighbour. Let's also not forget that he was throwing a party with underage drinkers AND he just got off probation for related matters. Silver's lawyers can keep all of that out of the way whereas if Stingray doesn't do exactly as Silver says, he will be in a world of shit. Silver has Stingray by the balls.
@@BungarangYT He's not gonna do that. Stingray needs acceptance because he has no friends or anything Cobra kai is ALL he has. He's not gonna go to Daniel or Johnny. if anything he will do worse things until he hits a point where it's going to far then he will quit Cobra Kai and Silver will come down on him hard. At that point someone may save him.
Yes. The Karate Bad Boy". I wonder if he ever got over losing to Daniel? Did he lose his 50% that he got from Silver? At the end of KKIII, Silver walked out, Barnes was having a tantrum on the mat, and Kreese was covered in Yellow Shirts giving a backhand to the air.
@@MrCjchamp It's a good guess. I don't know if Mike could take on Terrance's "QuickSilver" methods. Mono a mono. Maybe if T-dog did his "Whahhh!" Like he tried with Mr Miagi, maybe go could beat Barney.
Man, I REALLY thought that he had poisoned Kreese at the end there. He waited and let Kreese drink first, then gave that look. Oh yes, keep doing exactly what I want, it just showed in his eyes. Then Kreese seemed to be slightly... off. He seemed to be staring off into space and a little... sedated. I was SURE that Silver had poisoned him with venom he harvested from the cobra in the dojo. Oh, well. Still a good payoff.
It's kinda like Silver was just messing with the audience. Because he poured them both a drink, toasted, waited for John to drink AND didn't drink. He just sat the drink down after John drank. It was weird.
I think of this as a symbolic way of John Kreese being“drunk on success” whereas Terry was finally seeing things clearly after everything that’s happened
He definitely bribed police to arrest kreese with fake evidence, people think law applies to him, but in the true millionarie can simply kill people and get away with it, that's how world is, guy had touch with cocaine, he is no nice guy.
@@unkn0wnrge189 no fake evidence needed, they had an accusation from the victim, kreese had the means to do it and it was in kreeses dojo. Thats pretty condemning evidence
I think Silver wanted Daniel’s forgiveness more than he let on based on his facial expressions after Daniel rejects him he walks away after giving Daniel a look of disappointment and when he gets into his car. When he calls him an arrogant little prick he doesn’t do it with a sinister grin, he does it with anger like he’s been hurt
@@im2hastyle I just have this feeling if Daniel gave in and forgave him, Silver would’ve realized anything is possible and no one is beyond redemption including not only him but Kreese as well
@@im2hastyle if you look at karate kid 3 with cobra kai context (kreese flash backs and season 4 ) terry is a dark reflection of daniel in a way both were weak and got picked on but while daniel had miyagi to guide him, terry had kreese who ultimately manipulated him slowly turning into a monster. If terry did indeed saw daniel like younger version of himself then his manipulations towards daniel becoming a lot more twisted because its terry facing his inner demons slowly breaking daniel or a younger terry.
@@Skibbitypappappa he wasn’t trying to manipulate him because he was being genuine and anger is a natural human emotion especially when we can’t get what we want
I’m praying they don’t give Terry a sob story or redemption arc , every character they have now has done that or is doing it. Just let us have a bad guy who’s just bad for the sake of being bad
I don't think they will. They did the reverse for his character that the usually do with the others. Started out as good, and then showed his slow descent into villainy. If they go back on that it would feel repetitive.
@username unknown I would say that his sob story is that he has PTSD from Vietnam and had a huge negative influence in the form of Kreese who was as much an enemy as friend in the way that he pulled him back into the whole thing only to later make him relive his trauma from the war. Is Silver a good guy? no, but he had the potential to be one before Kreese slithered his way back into his life...If anything he is like an abused animal who ended up turning on his trainer.
Terry Silver was fine until Kreese began to use his mind games on Silver asserting his dominance by trying to trigger his PTSD and guilt tripping the guy all the time. Also Silver was the most level headed guy for 85% of the season until Kreese started growing a Heart showing weakness.
@@vicshephard9231 Exactly he was truly sincere in what he was doing and his methods worked Cobra Kai ended up winning because unlike Daniel or Johnny or even Kreese He preached unity and exploiting an opponent's weaknesses.
Quite ironic when you remember in Karate Kid 3 it was basically the complete opposite, Kreese was willing to give up on Cobra Kai and go through a new life after having his ass beaten by Myagi, and it was Silver who convince him to keep up instead and go for revenge.

Let's be real though, adults can have younger tastes and teenagers can have adult tastes, but it comes down to what the target audience is, and Arcane/League of Legends as a game even is aimed at teenagers aka kids.

Normally shows get worse as they add more seasons, and I was worried that this show would just become repetitious but Cobra Kai just keeps getting better
Kreese flushed the original dream down the toilet by chasing Miyagi-Do. Terry is a futurist that knows Cobra Kai has no future with Kreese. Kreese was focused on repeating the cycle while Terry was focused on ending it and moving Cobra Kai to it's next phase.
terry is kinda like the karate kid's joker, he can go as far as he needs to as long as he gets what he wants in the end. i dont think he will go as far as to kill somebody, but he will go as far as to beat somebody up. if it gets him what he wants
I COMEPLETLY AGREE!!! My sister and I were watching season's 4 last episode and she told me "damn he's just like the joker" And I was thinking the exact same thing before she said that.
Actually, Terry might be willing to go as far as to kill on a much worse scale because Kreese attempted to kill Johnny in Karate Kid, and in s3, he almost suffocated Johnny again and was going to stab Daniel for intervening. Remember, Kreese left his psychotic Captain to die by letting him fall to his death in a pit of snakes with an already wounded leg. So if Kreese already killed someone before and is willing to do so then Terry, who framed Kreese by nearly killing Stingray while being excellent at preying the opponents weakness; the mind and body is more of a snake than Kreese ever will be. Terry is really terrifying.
@@Reader999 I'd see Silver pushing someone towards ending their own life. That is the type of things he does. Not necessairly outright offing someone but manipulate them to make them think they are worthless to the point were they decide on their own to just jump off a bridge or something. I feel that is worst then fighting someone pass the mortal point in a physical sense.
Yeah, he's a very intense villain. I wonder how Cobra Kai will match he's descent into madness more so in season 5. I don't want to see it become that 2 dimensional cartoonish type villain.
@@00AgentKrabie Because first Kreese was trusted by Johnny then cheated him out of the dojo then Kreese trusted Silver and Silver stole the dojo from him after sending him to prison I think it would be very poetic and ironic if Mike Barnes was one of the people "recruited" by Silver and he somehow screws Silver out of the dojo.
@@Zurround I don't know, Silver seems to be too smart to fall for that. And we don't even know what Barnes's motives are anyway. Mike might even already be in too deep with Terry, too loyal, possibly.
Kinda predictable when they gave Kreese's background with him defending the girl, date her, and go to fight in Nam. He was a decent person back then, and seems fitting they will try to redeem him.
Terry is what most modern villains are missing these days, he is a machiavellian character that loves his old bad ways, in other terms, he has fun and loves being bad, manipulating and deceiving everyone with a sadistic mischievous smile always ready to be deployed.
Facts. I like that modern fiction is really exploring the psychology of villainy and moral greyness but that just means that these larger than life 'I do it for me' can't-help-but-love-em' type of antagonists stand out even more. Thomas Ian Griffith plays Silver even better now than he did back the day.
I expected to go into Season 4 not caring much about Terry, being that I never saw KK3; but I ended up absolutely loving him and he might be my favorite character from the season. His actor is really good and Terry is so deceptive, cunning, and not afraid to go to extremes to get what he wants. He’s definitely more of a threat than Kreese ever was.
*Terry is not wrong in his training or philosophy. The problem is that it corrupted him and made him more cruel than coherent. Vietnam's post-traumatic stress disorder helped him slip into sociopathy. That's why he is the personification of evil in "Cobra Kai".*
I never knew about Silver, so seeing him for the first time on this show was really insane. I never expected Cobra Kai to get under my skin in quite that way.
This is like most cults, the people that begin are not extreme because they know it is a lie, but then you get people that believe, and they become more dangerous than the people that started all.
@@btcprince it's as the person said. Kreese mostly was the starter of Cobra Kai and he set out a basic foundation but it has exceptions, Johnny Lawrence. But there are people that end up making it their whole philosophy like Silver, who is the follower (or was), and he really really believed in showing no mercy to anyone. Kreese was bad but Silver is worse. I don't know how else to explain but it's like the followers end up taking it further. Similarly like in Star Wars when Darth Sidious kills his master, Darth Plagueis, he took it a whole step further.
I hope we get a Terry Silver spin-off series. If Saul Goodman got his own series, so can Terry. I'd love to see more of his backstory after Vietnam and how he became so good at martial arts and so ruthless. And I'd also like to see what happened to him in the 35 years after KK3
I genuinely think ,, Silver was only there to train the kids like he wanted to ,, back in the glory days ,, but since Kreese used his pass to scare him ,, he went crazy from PTSD and thoughts of lack of loyality.
I actually see this happening but with Sam. I think I’m reaching but it is clear that Sam felt weak the entire season due to being stuck between the miyagi do and cobra kai worlds with no idea where she belonged. I feel like she wants a taste of that darkness and aggression that comes with the cobra kai ways, specially after losing to Tory. Sam started gaining power throughout the season but then at the end, she feels she loses it because she wasn’t as good as Tory.
Rumor is Robby is heading off to Mexico with Johnny... which is right for Robby's arc. Kenny and Tory are going to be Terry's paths forward. Keep using Kenny to terrorize Anthony to get at Daniel. Terry's gonna drop a fat stack of cash in front of Tory to get her to keep quiet. It might even come in waves. Like "Let me help you with that"... eventually there will be a feeling of being indebted to him and she'll probably keep playing along. It's possible Sam or Hawk drop Miyagi-Do and pick up Eagle Fang. It'd be a very interesting step to see in Daniel's arc, he's accepted that Sam can forge her own path. So now he can attempt to give guidance on how to teach. Rather than teaching a student. And Sam will get a taste of what it means to have students as she finds her own path. Hawk's story has come full circle. So it should be interesting as to what is in store for him. Him stepping up as a possible teacher for Eagle Fang could also be cool. And we also have Barnes waiting in the wings too. Season 5 is gonna rule
Also me and many fans are predicting that Hilary Swank will be possibly joining Cobra Kai S5 reprising her role of Julie Pierce which will be a benefit for the good guys as she's battled against and won against rich villains before with her dealing with Col. Dugan and the Alpha Elite and the various rich girls who bullied her, plus her fusion style of Miyagi-Do Karate, and Chinese Martial Arts will be a big advantage for Daniel and Chozen and the Miyagi-Do students as not only Terry, possibly Mike if he comes back, Stingray, and the Cobra Kai students won't have anyway to defend against it since they've never battled someone proficient in both Karate, and the various Chinese Martial Arts at all, plus she'll be able to teach Daniel, Chozen and the students moves they didn't even think were possible like the Praying Mantis technique, plus she'll be a big help to Amanda in helping Tory get redemption as Julie knows exactly what Tory's been through in her personal life.
Tory is loyal to Kreese not Silver, can see her and Robby joining Eagle-Fang. The Cobra Kai roster will be Shawn (gets out of juvie) Kenny, Kyler, Piper and maybe using the old Silver playbook buying a champion!
Not so sure about Tory. She was VERY insistent about wanting to win the tournament her own way, and she looked visibly shaken when she overheard Terry bribing that ref. Which means that if Terry gives her money/expensive stuff now, he's just doing it to get something he wants, opposed to someone like Amanda LaRusso who decided to help her of her own accord once Kreese made her aware of Tory's situation. If anything, I think that has planted the seeds of Sam and Tory working past their differences and ultimately burying the hatchet. We've seen her negotiate between Daniel and Johnny before, why not between two girls who both owe something to Amanda?
Silver had a better path for the students than Kreese; look forward, not back. CK under Silver is going to become dangerous….far more than under Kreese
One of my favorite parts was when you saw a glimpse of the old Silver when Kreese mentions that Daniel LaRusso is the only one standing in their way.. "Danny boy!!!?"
That high-pitched lilt that his voice does when he goes all crazy-eyes... I wasn't convinced he could still do it when I first saw the silver hair and the tofu party. But he's still got it.
Cobra Kai keeps honouring the series' legacy and it honestly makes the original source material even better with each installment instead of cheapening or lessening either experience. I was genuinely impressed when they introduced the idea that the reason Silver was off his rocker and totally loony in the 3rd film was because he was literally off the shits, high as a kite off the cocaine. Like. Wow. It wraps it up perfectly without even trying. The writers from Cobra Kai don't shy away from what the audience perceive as low points of the series, they write around it instead of pretending it didn't exist, something lesser writers love to do because it's easier than doing your research, biting the bullet and putting in some damn effort in the writing room once in a while. Season 3's use of Kreese in Vietnam was also a big winner, making Kreese's stoic performance in the original even more believable and chilling. I can't wait, once again, for the next season. Here's hoping they bring back Julie Pierce. Not that I don't want to see Barnes, but that I'll be even more impressed if they manage to improve on and honour the source material once again with her inclusion.
I thought this entire show was going to be a cheap gimmick ... it is frigging brilliant!! Never in a million years would I think that a Karate Kid continuation made 30+ years after the first movie would be this much fun!!!
@@adamcarlson2192 Barnes will probably be someone that EVEN CHOZEN fears, and someone who can EASILY bet up Silver. One literary rule in fiction is to keep bringing in progressively more dangerous villains. Silver was more Dangerous and more evil than Kreese and ruined Kreese. Barnes needs to dominate Silver to continue the "villain progression". I posted on a different thread that a great setup for a long overdue "rematch" between Daniel and Mike is for Daniel to have continued lessons from and sparring sessions with Chozen and it gets to a point where every time they spar its Daniel restraining Chozen. Much like Rocky evolving beyond Apollo (symbolized by winning the running race on the beach) Daniel evolves beyond Chozen. It would show progression of his character. And at some point when Mike beats up Chozen even worse than Silver beat up Stingray Daniel faces Mike and its 2 people who can BOTH beat up Chozen, so the 2 best fighters in the show facing each other but this time its a fight to the death not a tournament....
@@oharoza4851 NO. 'Fight to the death" but of course Daniel will win and NOT kill Chozen. The fight at the end of KK2 was meant to be a fight to the death but then Daniel spared Chozen. Maybe Daniel will honk Mike's nose or something.
I really liked where Terry was at the beginning of the season. He just seemed to know the best path to move Cobra Kai forward. He was teaching that hitting an opponent when they are at their weakest or when their guard was down was more beneficial than just striking first and blind aggression takes a backseat to preparation and focused retaliation. He had learned something that Kreese hadn't and Kreese was too petty to take some notes. I hate that Kreese fkd up Terry's progression, but it will be interesting to see where he goes from here.
I just wish that Kreese isn't redeemed completely, after all he did what he did, no matter what reasons he has. And likewise for Terry. We all watch Cobra Kai for what it is, a lighthearted franchise revival. However, it is quite poignant for such a show to give Terry's descent such a deep take. We all see how he has things sorted but still feels that loneliness and ever since the call from Kreese, the things he buried deep within just resurface. All his rehab is dismantled and the monster is unleashed. He sees that he is still a slave to Kreese and still yearns for his validation and his actions don't have forgiveness as LaRusso still hates his guts. He sees that being apologetic and grateful doesn't quite get end well always. It's quite 'Bojack' of his transformation but from the perspective of let's say Penny. I don't wish this show takes an unnecessary dark route like most revival franchises trying to make their new versions more grittier, but for Terry, I really wish the character is given his dark spiral.
Kreese isn’t all bad though and this show has made a point of telling us that multiple times. He’s simply a man that believes in absolute strength but he’s not above showing humility to the people he cares about like Tory BC he’s lived a similar life, he’s a man shaped by his life experiences.
Funny enough, at first (after the whole "everyone has a weakness") I thought Terry was playing this really long con just to get Kreese to open up to his feelings and stop resorting on the past and focus on their future. Part of me just thought Terry was being this "wise hermit" at first but was willing to show tough love on Kreese. But, my expectations were subverted.
@@Mailed-Knight nah lol 😂 that's what Terry Silver wanted Kreese to believe. He was laughing. He played Kreese like a violin. That's psychological warfare.
@@StryfetheWarrior True while it is the weakest of the three movies (as Ralph Macchio even stated he didn't like the movie that much), it still is a solid movie and is better than the Next Karate Kid movie. Terry Silver is a heck of a lot of fun to watch.
The fact that Silver's actor, Thomas Ian Griffith, with the surname being the same as Griffith from Berserk is no coincidence. That said, Silver is basically the Cobra Kai equivalent of Griffith/Femto.
I wonder if Miura chose the name from Thomas Ian Griffith? Similarly, Isayama (Attack on Titan) named Sasha Braus after Sacha Baron Cohen (Ali G, Borat) because Sasha is a comic relief character. And Sacha Baron Cohen does comedy!
@@alexvaughan1013 I could have asked the same question. And besides, Berserk began in 1989, almost years apart from the Karate Kid films. The parallels between Griffith and Terry are too obvious to ignore, especially in Cobra Kai.
I think the number one thing a villain needs to be memorable is that he needs to win more than he loses. Such a great villain and I agree about him being the best part of 3
Kreese is a one-dimensional man who never grew up. All he has is his mall Karate dojo. Silver is an entire other level of dangerous. He revels in hurting others and destroys his enemies no matter who or where they are.
I want to see Chosen vs Silver. Chosen who has so much heart and desire for honor vs Silver a man without limits. Chose might just use the take away the ability to create offense, but we will see.
It’s so strange to think of this fact. Ralph Macchio is actually older than Thomas Ian Griffith (Terry Silver) and the actor who plays young Terry Silver in the flash backs is 25 years old while Terry in Karate Kid 3 was actually 27 years old in real life and Daniel in Karate Kid 3 was 28 🤯
So, Season 5 will be: Daniel, Chozen, & Miyagi-Do vs. Silver, (probably) Mike Barnes, & Cobra Kai Johnny goes to Mexico to look for Miguel and fight together to get back home Robby sees the light but he’s gonna try to change Cobra Kai from the inside, especially Kenny, and overthrow Silver, but he’ll fail, and Daniel & Chozen will be forced to rescue him, and Robby’s back with Miyagi-Do. Tory will begin to truly see the light and be conflicted on whether she should stay at Cobra Kai. Maybe she and Sam will become friends, but they’re at least cool with each other now. Anthony now HAS to learn Miyagi-Do to defend himself from the now evil Kenny, and we’ll hopefully see both of their characters redeemed slowly, particularly due to their mutual crush on Lia. They’re gonna have to be mindful to not be mean to each other while she’s around, or else we get Karate Kid 1 all over again 😓 Silver bails out Shawn early and has him join Cobra Kai to keep Kenny loyal to Cobra Kai, causing a rift between Robby and Kenny, and Robby and Shawn. And, I believe Daniel may bail out Kreese to form a temporary alliance with him to take down Silver. Finale: Miyagi-Fang (including Chozen, Robby and Tory, hopefully Kenny and Kreese?) vs. Cobra Kai
I didn’t know anything about Silver at first (never saw the movies), I just thought he was some chill, lay back, run of the mill, douchebag. But after seeing Silver brutalize Stingray, made Robby doubt his martial arts skills, ambush Johnny and now framing Kreese, all I had to say at the season finale was… “Kreese, what’ve you done?”
I've followed Silver's teaching since I was a child. Today I'm certifieable and completely happy. I'm a business manager and totally wreck people. Thank you Sensei.
Tbh we needed Terry to be the ultimate villain.. he is gonna keep this series going strong in where I think Kreese couldn't, awesome story telling in this series I thoroughly enjoyed it thus far.
Johnny versus Terry was the ultimate dream come true for me this season. OwO While it sucks Johnny lost, I hope he gets a rematch, especially when Terry promised Kreese he'd "take care of Lawrence too". Knowing that Johnny is headed to Mexico to confront Miguel's father (who I suspect is a cartel or a bigshot drug lord), I wouldn't be surprised if Terry recruited Miguel's father to put Johnny AND Miguel off balance.
You gotta know Daniel-son will avenge Johnny L. I honestly don’t see anyone beating Silver except Chozen. Johnny will battle Barnes. Sensei may even face Barnes.
I think we may see Tory finally earn her redemption in S5 as the final scenes showed she was pissed when she discovered that her victory against Sam in the girls finals of the All-Valley tournament was tainted due to the fact she won the first place trophy via Terry bribing the ref to screw Sam over and essentially ensure Tory wins without her actually earning it via defeating Sam something that Tory made clear she didn't approve of proving despite all of her villainous flaws she still has the good qualities she showed in S2 including now revealing she had a code of honor in that she wanted to win the 1st place trophy yes but win it by actually beating Sam, not by taking the easy way and just have it handed to her via Terry bribing a crooked ref to screw over Sam. But that's just my take. And I think we may if possible actually see Hillary Swank join the cast for S5 reprising the role of Julie Pierce and it is possible considering that considering what happened Daniel is going to need help taking down Terry especially since Johnny is going to be focusing on keeping Miguel safe, and Daniel made it clear that he didn't want to disrupt Chozen's life in Okinawa by having him come to the US so calling the only other Miyagi-Do student who directly trained under Mr. Miyagi that's still in the country that's he's friends with to help out is right now the only choice and yes the creators confirmed Next Karate Kid is canon within the Karate Kid/Cobra Kai timeline along with it being confirmed that it is canon that Daniel and Julie met and befriended each other at Mr. Miyagi's funeral. And Julie has experience dealing with and coming out victorious against rich scumbags like Terry who seemingly can get away with anything due to his bank account via her run-ins with the Alpha Elite, and the various other mean girls at that private school she went to and got suspended from, also Julie can teach Sam, Hawk, Demitri and the other Miyagi-Do students and even Daniel some moves they didn't even realize were possible to do like the Praying Mantis Strike via the fact her style is a fusion of Miyagi-Do Karate, and Chinese Martial Arts including the agile and graceful Chinese Long Fist style a fusion style Terry, Stingray and the others at Cobra Kai won't expect. And as for Julie I think she actually kept her skills sharp by continuing to train after all remember Mr. Miyagi taught her using Angel the female Hawk Julie was caring for as an example stating "A female hawk doesn't let what she was taught by her father be forgotten cause she no longer has use for it she remembers what her father taught her in order to use it when needed while hoping that time never comes." basically teaching Julie that keeping up with her training even though it's not needed is acceptable cause even though she doesn't want to use her martial arts training to fight there could be a time where she has to use her martial arts skills to aid in a fight if such a time comes. Plus Julie returning to aid Daniel, and the other Miyagi-Do students could lead to interesting plot developments for example she could be the one who makes a connection to Tory and help her earn redemption due to the fact she's been where Tory is at and knows exactly what Tory is going through in terms of feeling angry at the world due to seemingly unfair circumstances, and being distrusted and viewed as the troublemaker simply because she's not rich, plus we could get more backstory on Mr. Miyagi's time as a soldier in the US Army's 44th Nisen Division in WW2's European Front cause remember Mr. Miyagi is technically Julie's honorary grandfather, due to viewing her grandfather as his brother when her grandfather saved his life during a battle and in return teaching his new honorary brother Miyagi-Do Karate, resulting in her grandfather teaching her father, and her father teaching her.
I know it’s your opinion but it’s kinda disappointing to hear you don’t like the original movies because this series would never existed if it weren’t for the movies
TECHNICALLY he wasn't trying to undermine Kreese when he said everyone has a weakness. He only turned against Kreese after he realized nothing he did would ever be good enough for him (basically the episode where he beat up Johnny and Stingray).
I remember watching the Karate Kid 3 when I was young back in the early 90’s. I never watched the whole film back then but just caught Terry coming to Daniels aid after Mike Barns tried to fight him. So I only saw Terry as a supportive teacher towards Daniel. Then after all that trouble from Mike. I saw the part where they are in the dojo and Mike came out and Terry starts to show who he really is and Kreese comes out of no where with that scream. Man I was terrified back then as a kid.
I think the music was also part of it, the music just added to the decent because it’s often associated with people losing it. The music just added to it and made him so much scarier
Terry vs Chozen If Kreese told him about the pressure points techniques, and takes advantage of his range and strenght, then it'll be hard for Chozen (considering LaRusso still could somewhat hold his own against him) If Chozen is near or at Miyagi's level, then Silver is in for the pain
Kreese didn't know about the pressure point techniques, but yeah. If Chozen is near Miyagi level, Miyagi took on Silver and Kreese, when they were both younger. Silver wouldn't stand a chance.
I have a feeling Chozen will teach Daniel more Miyagi secrets but then something will happen to Chozen at the hands of Silver. A death would really up the stakes.
@@adamcarlson2192 I think that age in the karate kid/cobra kai universe doesn't make the characters weaker, quite the opposite. Old Chozen is a lot stronger than young Chozen, old Daniel is a lot stronger than young Daniel and old Silver is a lot stronger than young Silver. The list goes on. Not to mention Mr. Miyagi who was really old and yet still most likely the strongest character to show up in that universe so far.
Johnny faces Silver again in Season 5. It’s classic Rocky III. Perhaps Chozen tightens Johnny’s defense up to next level? No way Johnny doesn’t take another crack at it 👊🏼
It will probably be either Chozen, Daniel, or a tag-team of Chozen and Daniel taking on Terry as it's confirmed Johnny will be in Mexico for S5 as he's helping Miguel with his search for his father, after it was revealed Miguel's father had no idea his son existed so Miguel wants answers on who his father really is cause the only clue into Miguel's father was Carmen telling Johnny "Miguel's father is an awful man who is more monster then man"
Yes, after I typed this I saw a video of an interview with Billy and Ralph. Billy says something to the affect of Johnny helping Miguel out. I hate that. I would like to see a rematch when Johnny’s ready. I do suppose Danielson is owed a shot as well
The entire time I kept thinking that Silver was going to be revealed as Tori's Dad, but now that he has gone complete psycho, I hope not. She is the only student/person who knows his true colors. I'm curious to see how she handles it all.
With the way that things are going, I would expect to see a redemption arc for Tori and Robby next season. However, it makes a lot of sense and would feel earned, so I'm looking forward to it.
Now THIS was a fantastic character analysis and made me excited for season 5! I don't really enjoy the high school nonsense that's going on in the show. It's predictable and frankly not very compelling. But this character has so much room to grow, and I really hope they get more on board with this type of show! Well done :)
Silver not only has fighting skill, he enjoys doing bad rather than just using bad methods as a means to an end. And on top of all that, he rich as hell and has connections to best use those funds
Two what if questions that should be addressed: What if Daniel had taken Terry's apology? Also what if John Kreese didn't keep trying to pull rank on Terry and considered him as equal during the season? I feel these two were the turning points for Terry to go back to his old ways.
He was awsome in s4 but the best part was hawk he's my fave character and I called him winning the all valley only thought it would be as part of eagle fang and didnt think it would be split and cobra kai won any way but still called my boy eli getting a W loved it
@@accountsequity5587 yea exactly he was my fave bcos he reminded me of me I was bullied and started doing mma mainly kickboxing and fought back and love the show and seeing this and I legit thought he'd beat Miguel and he defo earned robbys respect
Yeah same. So happy hawk won the all valley. He's such an underrated character cos he lost fights in s2 and s3 when he was the bad guy cos bad guys have to loose
You should do why Sam is the absolute worst character on the show. She always starts the fight first, she’s extremely petty and judgmental, and she was the one who cheated on Robby with Miguel. She’s the one who started all of this and she constantly rubs salt in the would when clearly Tory just wants to get through the day so she can take care of her mother.
Also in the last season she only gotten worse, while tory leaves her alone, she is tired of the dumb revenge, sam keeps at it just to get some retarded revenge
@@Insan3-qf1dw for real like the prom moment, Tory didn’t even say anything all that bad, yet Sam of course kicks her while torys guard was down. Like seriously wtf!
I've actually done videos on both Tory and Sam, and plan to do more. Both have made their mistakes, and I do like their new arcs in S4. Don't forget that Miguel also cheated on Tory and is just as guilty
@@StryfetheWarrior I had just found your video on Sam and yeah it definitely needs an update. Tory is flawed yes, but she actually was willing to take the high road yet all Sam does is just instigate. I don’t understand why the show tries to have us side with sam, when clearly she’s the one who needs to fucking stop being so high and mighty and actually show some damn humility. Tory wouldn’t even hate her had sam not thought she had stolen her moms wallet. Like seriously sam is such a judgmental and toxic person she makes Johnny kreese look like a saint in comparison.
Thomas Ian Griffith is a black belt in taekwondo and kenpo. Cobra Kai needs Terry Silver for as long as possible. Terry will find redemption again like Kreese will. They're not all evil. Just broken from all the bullying.
The moment you realise that Ralph Machio is older than Terry Silver actor, and actually older than all kids in Karate Kid movies. At Karate Kid 3 Ralph was almost 30, but looked like a 14 year old (karate) kid.
Man the writers of Cobra Kai are genuis. Think about the Paradox of Terry Silvers.. Kreese was his STRENGTH and WEAKNESS at the same time. God I love the nuances in this show. Felt watching Mad Men and or Bars in a Rap Battle getting over your head
One thing I noticed when watching the season is when Terry let's his hair down freely, he is 'Terrence' who is logical, calm and reasonable. When he has his ponytail, he is violent, aggressive and intimidating.
I never watched Karate Kid 2 and 3 but when I watched season 4, Terry Silver was such a scary character because he's unpredictable and we never know what he'll do next compared to Kreese, where we know he'll try play innocent many times and manipulate the situation to benefit him
Terry Silver, terrorizing Gen-X teens in the 80's, and then bossing around the Gen-Z kids of those same teens and turning them against their parents. The old sack of bones really is unredeemable.
UPDATED SEASON 5 TERRY SILVER VIDEO ➧ ruclips.net/video/dzxw1iwOQrA/видео.html
How far do you think Terry Silver will go?
What's the song you use in the beginning of your videos(like this one)? Is it part of Cobra Kai soundtrack?
Ruler Supreme...
Very nioce
To be honest, Terry Silver don't care how far he has to go, or how much he will stoop so low.
You wanna be cobra kai?
@@captainmarvelous7678 he specifically told Johnny ‘silver knows how to fight’. He still acknowledges how good he is.
@@SemiOmni314 Maybe…
I just think Silver is too cold and calculated to actually feel real jealousy towards Johnny Lawrence.
When Kreese reawakened Terry's inner Cobra, he clearly didn't think he would get bit.
Kreese had that coming to him he treated terry silver like shit. He kept bringing up the fact he saved him from death. He belittled him all because he lost a bet. You is not suppose to talk to a grow man like that. Terry did the right thing get him out his life. You don't need people like that around you.
Dammit, now I'm trying to remember the name of the snake hibernation thing 😅
@@adamcarlson2192 brumation 😅
I really wanted to see a scene where Silver confronted some of his (former) yuppie friends.
@@lesterglenn111 Terry Kept LOSING FACE TO HIM in front of the students. NOBODY likes to lose face but when you are a total badass who is used to being powerful and respected your whole life losing face is especially painful. He endured losing face to Kreese several times before finally snapping.
The big clue was when you see him reading the book Leviathan. Quote from the book : “If any two men desire the same thing, which nevertheless they cannot both enjoy, they become enemies;
WOW!! THATS AMAZING THANKS
I’ll keep that in mind, next time. Thanks for this nugget
Good catch!
Good pickup. I think you are in the very minority of not only knowing that book, but a direct quote from it lol
Sith rule of two
“Why couldn’t you let sleeping dogs lie” became such a stronger quote after Terry turned on Kreese.
@@d4rksonic474 Can't blame Daniel. After what Terry did to him.
In Daniel's position, I'd be ready to snuff Silver's flame. He's not a kid anymore.
It wouldn't have backfired if Kreese hadn't had a soft spot for Johnny though. Kreese doing a few good things was ultimately what did him in.
I just realized the actor isn’t even old enough to be a Vietnam veteran but he is very good at playing the role. Good video
Thank you!
terry silvers actor is younger than Ralph Macchio.
Thomas Ian Griffith is 17 years younger than Martin Kove. He could be his son...
I always thought this was mad from KK3 when Silver was acting so much older than Daniel, yet in real life Ralph is a year older than Thomas.
@@steveh4290 It helps that Griffith has always looked older than his age. Macchio on the other hand has always looked younger. Still does.
Kreese has to have 100% of the blame, he awakened the beast within a now placid and at peace Silver and then tried to belittle him and manipulate him over what happened in Vietnam constantly. What did he expect😂
Silver even basically told him as much. "Why couldn't you just let sleeping dogs lie?"
Kreese unleashed the beast for sure and now he's paying for it in prison.
Not only did he awake the beast but then he put his head in it's mouth and punched it in the jaw
Facts
You can’t fully blame kreese he is getting softer because looking at terry he’s realizing that’s what he was (kreese) and he was trying to do better
He also has lots of money, so that actually makes him even more powerful.
Yeah that's why I think if he fought like someone more skilled than him, he would use cheap shots to gain the upperhand.
He’s also a threat to silver. If he can somehow communicate to daniel and johnny that silver beat him and not kreese, then silver will go to jail
@@BungarangYT Silver could just remove him at that point
@@BungarangYT he can easily get him not to do any of those things
@@kbandoooo also making a false report is a crime. Sting ray would definitely go to jail if he told the truth. Silver has sting ray totally
If Terry says " There's still a few Cobra Kai's left to choose from", we all know he is talking about Mike Barnes.
This Is literally the First thing that come in my mind
The karate bad boy 😂
@@gabrielmendoza8567 I doubt Terry would have honored that even if Mike won, in writing or not in writing
SAME, I thought that was the end of Kreese...
It's kinda like Silver was just messing with the audience. Because he poured them both a drink, toasted, waited for John to drink AND didn't drink. He just sat the drink down after John drank. It was weird.
A sedative would allow him to be captured with minimum officer casualties. Silver is a thoughtful, civic minded citizen.
I think of this as a symbolic way of John Kreese being“drunk on success” whereas Terry was finally seeing things clearly after everything that’s happened
@@mat7083 good take

@@unkn0wnrge189 no fake evidence needed, they had an accusation from the victim, kreese had the means to do it and it was in kreeses dojo. Thats pretty condemning evidence
I think Silver wanted Daniel’s forgiveness more than he let on based on his facial expressions after Daniel rejects him he walks away after giving Daniel a look of disappointment and when he gets into his car. When he calls him an arrogant little prick he doesn’t do it with a sinister grin, he does it with anger like he’s been hurt
That would be an amazing plot to have Daniel as Silver's "weakness" (as well as his beacon back to sanity and moral)

If terry did indeed saw daniel like younger version of himself then his manipulations towards daniel becoming a lot more twisted because its terry facing his inner demons slowly breaking daniel or a younger terry.

The show needs a true villain.
And Terry is an absolute gift.
That’s what Kyler’s there for 😂
@username unknown I would say that his sob story is that he has PTSD from Vietnam and had a huge negative influence in the form of Kreese who was as much an enemy as friend in the way that he pulled him back into the whole thing only to later make him relive his trauma from the war.
@@Reader999 Kreese made that guy fall off the bridge.
Terry is by far the best villain in the series and can’t wait to see more from em
Yeah, he's a very intense villain. I wonder how Cobra Kai will match he's descent into madness more so in season 5. I don't want to see it become that 2 dimensional cartoonish type villain.
Maybe the best SO FAR. Mike Barnes might dethrone him to "second best" next season....
@@Zurround Imo, Mike is definitely the master bully in the Cobra Kai franchise.
I was really surprised that the writers made Silver and Kreese having different agendas and thus hinting at us Kreese's redemption arc
Kinda predictable when they gave Kreese's background with him defending the girl, date her, and go to fight in Nam. He was a decent person back then, and seems fitting they will try to redeem him.
Silver may have a redemption arc yet it just depends how season 5 plays out
Terry is what most modern villains are missing these days, he is a machiavellian character that loves his old bad ways, in other terms, he has fun and loves being bad, manipulating and deceiving everyone with a sadistic mischievous smile always ready to be deployed.
Facts. I like that modern fiction is really exploring the psychology of villainy and moral greyness but that just means that these larger than life 'I do it for me' can't-help-but-love-em' type of antagonists stand out even more. Thomas Ian Griffith plays Silver even better now than he did back the day.

Kreese has awoken a monster. It was always inside of Silver, but Kreese has brought it out in the final episodes of the season.
Watch KK3. He steals the show there too.
*Terry is not wrong in his training or philosophy. The problem is that it corrupted him and made him more cruel than coherent. Vietnam's post-traumatic stress disorder helped him slip into sociopathy. That's why he is the personification of evil in "Cobra Kai".*

A karate dojo isn't a cult. Its probably not even much good in a street fight.

He loves cocaine
I hope we get a Terry Silver spin-off series. If Saul Goodman got his own series, so can Terry. I'd love to see more of his backstory after Vietnam and how he became so good at martial arts and so ruthless. And I'd also like to see what happened to him in the 35 years after KK3
The QuickSilver series 💯
I genuinely think ,, Silver was only there to train the kids like he wanted to ,, back in the glory days ,, but since Kreese used his pass to scare him ,, he went crazy from PTSD and thoughts of lack of loyality.
I think the scariest thing about him is that he’s rich af. He can do whatever he wants and cover it up!
I predict that Terry is going to turn little Kenny into a complete psychopath.
Kenny does show thesame facial expression of barely hidden insanity
Oh my god, he killed Kenny!

What if Miguel's real father is Mike Barnes? Hence why Miguel decided to go in Season 4 Finale.

It would've been cool for them to win the tournament as friends.
The best part was when Terry followed through with the foreshadowing of knowing one's weakness at the last episode of the season.
I liked the little bit of KK3 Terry Silver we got when he was beating up Johnny at the old Cobra Kai dojo and calling him “pretty boy”.😂😂
Seconded
"You wanna see some more?"
Have you seen the new season? It's quite good.
Yeah I didn't see betraying Kreese either, at least not anytime soon. Terry seemed so whipped when Kreese talked down to him.

Silver was the true protagonist, the rest of them were all extra.
Kreese historically has been a manipulator. Telling people what they want to get his way. Silver is also manipulative. One trying to out do the other.
its crazy to think that Thomas Ian Griffith (Terry Silver's actor) is actually YOUNGER than Ralph Macchio (Daniel Larusso)
Holy shit, you're right!

So, Season 5 will be:
Daniel, Chozen, & Miyagi-Do vs. Silver, (probably) Mike Barnes, & Cobra Kai
Johnny goes to Mexico to look for Miguel and fight together to get back home
Robby sees the light but he’s gonna try to change Cobra Kai from the inside, especially Kenny, and overthrow Silver, but he’ll fail, and Daniel & Chozen will be forced to rescue him, and Robby’s back with Miyagi-Do.
They’re gonna have to be mindful to not be mean to each other while she’s around, or else we get Karate Kid 1 all over again 😓
Silver bails out Shawn early and has him join Cobra Kai to keep Kenny loyal to Cobra Kai, causing a rift between Robby and Kenny, and Robby and Shawn.

But after seeing Silver brutalize Stingray, made Robby doubt his martial arts skills, ambush Johnny and now framing Kreese, all I had to say at the season finale was…
“Kreese, what’ve you done?”
I've followed Silver's teaching since I was a child. Today I'm certifieable and completely happy. I'm a business manager and totally wreck people. Thank you Sensei.

I wish that fight scene was longer and more dramatic. it was over too fast.
It was revealed in this season that Miguel's dad doesn't even know Miguel exists.
You gotta know Daniel-son will avenge Johnny L. I honestly don’t see anyone beating Silver except Chozen. Johnny will battle Barnes. Sensei may even face Barnes.
@@UncleIJT that’s facts. Johnny and Daniel to care about eachother. They got each others backs.

Terry vs Chozen
If Kreese told him about the pressure points techniques, and takes advantage of his range and strenght, then it'll be hard for Chozen (considering LaRusso still could somewhat hold his own against him)
If Chozen is near or at Miyagi's level, then Silver is in for the pain
Kreese didn't know about the pressure point techniques, but yeah. If Chozen is near Miyagi level, Miyagi took on Silver and Kreese, when they were both younger. Silver wouldn't stand a chance.

It will probably be either Chozen, Daniel, or a tag-team of Chozen and Daniel taking on Terry as it's confirmed Johnny will be in Mexico for S5 as he's helping Miguel with his search for his father, after it was revealed Miguel's father had no idea his son existed so Miguel wants answers on who his father really is cause the only clue into Miguel's father was Carmen telling Johnny "Miguel's father is an awful man who is more monster then man"
Daniel-son will finally battle Silver.

Yeah same. So happy hawk won the all valley. He's such an underrated character cos he lost fights in s2 and s3 when he was the bad guy cos bad guys have to loose
@@mrj4082 exactly and he is one of the best fighters among the kids on par with like robby and Miguel I really like him
He didn't win the tournament tho ;-; he won the boys division
You should do why Sam is the absolute worst character on the show.
She always starts the fight first, she’s extremely petty and judgmental, and she was the one who cheated on Robby with Miguel. She’s the one who started all of this and she constantly rubs salt in the would when clearly Tory just wants to get through the day so she can take care of her mother.
She's the one that needs a redemption arc the most
Also in the last season she only gotten worse, while tory leaves her alone, she is tired of the dumb revenge, sam keeps at it just to get some retarded revenge
@@TonySkittleAlive184 Yeah I meant Karate Kid 3 :P just forgot to add the nr.
John Kreese forgot when you play with snakes you're eventually going to get bit even if you are one.
Terrys a tall dude and those kicks are powerful
Man the writers of Cobra Kai are genuis.
Think about the Paradox of Terry Silvers.. Kreese was his STRENGTH and WEAKNESS at the same time.
God I love the nuances in this show. Felt watching Mad Men and or Bars in a Rap Battle getting over your head
One thing I noticed when watching the season is when Terry let's his hair down freely, he is 'Terrence' who is logical, calm and reasonable. When he has his ponytail, he is violent, aggressive and intimidating.
I never watched Karate Kid 2 and 3 but when I watched season 4, Terry Silver was such a scary character because he's unpredictable and we never know what he'll do next compared to Kreese, where we know he'll try play innocent many times and manipulate the situation to benefit him
Props to the writers for bringing back the original CK dojo location. Looking forward to seeing it more in S5
Terry puts the terry in "terr[y]fying"....
'Scary Terry'
Terry Silver, terrorizing Gen-X teens in the 80's, and then bossing around the Gen-Z kids of those same teens and turning them against their parents. The old sack of bones really is unredeemable.
terry is one of the best villains in movie history. He so over the top in KK3 its just so enjoyable to watch.
In season 5, they're gonna bring back the bubble bath. Only true karate kid fans know what I'm talking about.
