Comparing 2 Ways to Clean Marks off Walls

Cleaning marks off walls, without damaging the paint. Scuff marks from furniture, hard to clean hand prints, food splashes, etc can be safely cleaned away if you know what you are doing.
In this video I attack a HUGE scuff mark on a bedroom wall that was probably created from a bed rubbing against the wall. One of the hardest marks to clean off.
IMPORTANT - Scrub lightly to avoid damage to the wall. Also, understand that some marks simply will not come off and you do need to know when to STOP scrubbing (as you will see in this video).

And, for those who don’t know, a bond clean is also called - exit clean, move out clean, end of lease clean, tenant clean or vacate clean - and involves a Deep Clean of absolutely everything in a house.

Dude your level of subtle detail is great, thanks for sharing your years of experience. I just did a bunch of experiments on a dirty old room, the eraser sponge works great on the smooth, semi gloss? trim paint, but crumbles on the flat wall paint without cleaning much. Baking soda cleans maybe ~80-90% as well as the eraser on the trim, but really excels at cleaning the flat paint on the walls. I tried a rag and a sponge, moistening them and dipping into dry baking soda and then scrubbing the spots with however much pressure necessary.
(I am a total beginner, just learning about this today.)
The room is so trashed I just assumed everything had to be painted, and now I’m realizing how much can be just be cleaned… Holy shit the amount of time energy money and resources I might have spent.

Tony … Mate! … nice work on experimenting. Never heard of using baking soda on walls! Personally I wouldn’t just because you would have to clean the baking soda off (and I hate cleaning stuff twice). A heads up though … using anything abrasive (including baking soda and the eraser) on gloss/semi gloss paint can leave dull spots. A pencil rubber eraser is better for that. Future option for you if u r in Australia - wash the walls with Tricleanium (from Bunnings) and use a “non-scratch” scourer dipped in ‘TriC’ for scuffs and heavy duty areas. Also - make sure the magic eraser is wet if you use it to clean marks off walls (the big versions are better coz u will wear through it on big jobs).

Would you suggest spot cleaning stuff like this before doing the overall wall clean? Or the other way around?

Great question Cara. You can do it as you go but need to make sure you wash the areas that were spot cleaned to remove any residue from spot cleaning.

haha thanks that is very kind of you mate , nah never really thought about making money on youtube wouldn't know were to start. your videos are very slick and professional with music the way the video speeds up to the way you explain every thing, i cant see the editing ,do you do them yourself and have you been at the videos long yourself . with the advertising side i find it is just good to have that online present so when you put a card though the door someone can get a feel for you and see that you are real that kind of thing @@ThatAussieCleaner

I do edit them myself. Mostly learnt from watching video editing vids here like the Premiere Basics channel. Have about 50 vids. They quality does get better as you go. Keep it up Brian.
