    Great info, thank you. What I don't see enough of however is people acknowledging that there is A LOT and I mean a lot of direct competitor sabotage going on on Etsy. Why does no one talk about this? Stuff like competitors clicking on your ads to exhaust the budget. Is it only happening to me?? I'm just so surprised that no one addresses this and how Etsy doesn't do anything about it.

    Thank you for the helpful information. The Etsy algorithm and analytics are insane!!!
    My shop is new (1 week) and the majority of my views are Direct. I don’t know how that can be possible because I haven’t shared with anyone that I started an Etsy shop.
    64 visits, 38 Direct, 19 Etsy app & other, 7 Etsy search. I started with 3 listings, 1 week in I now have 8 listings. - Zero sales -
    ? 1- if someone visits / views your item multiple times using the same device does it increase your traffic #’s?
    ? 2- Does the name of your shop have any relevance to traffic? The name I choose is product related, but eventually I plan to add other categories of product.

    • @etsyconsultant
      @etsyconsultant  2 года назад +1

      Hi there, thanks for your message. One way this could happen if you are looking at your shop from your phone, rather than your PC. No of visits are counted in sessions. Shop name with Etsy doesn't really have any relevance other than by people finding it by typing the name in the search bar.

    I find your videos to be a great help and they are helping me understand more as to how ETSY works. My store doesn't seem to fit the different models you talk about. I make unique products & custom made items in wood. I do make the same product more than once but each one is not exactly the same as other pieces. I also offer personalized laser engraving. The price on these items are general $100-$300 per piece. Having a store of 100+ items seems near impossible for me. Because of the higher prices they also do not sell quickly. Is there anything different from your basic plan on how to grow a new store with low volume and higher end prices?

    • @etsyconsultant
      @etsyconsultant  2 года назад

      Hi, and thanks for your detailed question. So, your goal here is to find ways to list lower priced items (not lower profit margin), that are easier to make and reproduce faster. This gets you in to higher quality score price bands (sub $100) and you will make more sales. This then feeds your higher priced items with more visibility.

    Thank you so much for your advice. It has helped me understand more and more about Etsy and how to function in it. I am a floral designer and design wreaths, table arrangements, floral picture frames, wedding bouquets and other things that include flowers. I notice that the competition is tough in this industry. There are many other shops that provide the same service. Should I be concerned about how much competition there is? I am not wanting to make a living on Etsy as I am retired and just love the craft. I sell about 12 items per year but want to actually sell what I make, not keep it in inventory.

For example, I am drummer, and I want to make Drummers T-Shirts, and I go to Etsy, and I search drumming, drumms and drummer tshirts, and I found 10 shops that sell drumming t-shirts and have somewhere inbetween 700 - 3000 sales in theirs stores. Hi there, thanks for your comment. For negative ones I recommend that you message the customer directly to find out what happened, and see if you can rectify it. if you manage to you can ask them if they would consider revising the review. If they don't/won't and its not always possible for negative reviews you can leave a response such as 'contacted customer directly and resolved' or 'tried to contact customer to resolve' . If you reply to a negative review before you have sorted the problem out the buyer is not able to change the review. For positive ones it's up to you, in the past I have messaged the customer directly to thank them.
