    The waiting has been the hardest part of the journey for me. I ordered a doll almost a year ago this month. She should have arrived in May, but because of the pandemic, everything got delayed. The artist has been really helpful answering questions and letting everyone know when she's been able to talk to the caster though.

      Oh my goodness! A year! Yeah that is tough. It is rough during this time and I know you will feel insanely happy when your doll does come in. Good luck with your waiting and hang in there!!

    Took me 4 years to track down my grail doll. Then, quite unexpectedly I was exploring a BJD seller's site and there he was, a Ring Doll 65 cm Aooni in tan skin and, he was so reasonably priced that I couldn't say no!!
    So, now he's winging his way across the pond, unstrung to keep the astronomical shipping costs from the USA down. I'm over the moon. He's practically brand new. The lady selling him, opened him, and put him back in his box! He's been sat in a cupboard so I'm chuffed to bits and watching his tracking as he gets nearer and nearer to home!🇬🇧❤️👍😁 So, 2 wigs, 2 pairs of shoes, socks, underware, and his clothes being made to order, I thought why not. I've been on lockdown for over a year with being a severe Asthmatic. Bills are paid, no debt. No chance of seeing a holiday in the next however long. I may as well have him how I want him.
    Thanks for the video. Stay safe ❤️👍

    Hi asenva, i have been watching your videos for as far as i can remember. Im so excited that i am finally getting my first “real” bjd(myou lingwei)!! I have a parabox 1/6 scale obitsu doll, but im so excited to get a resin 1/4 scale one. I saved up all my money from my 17th birthday, and now im stuck in the waiting period😭😭shes my dream, and I cant wait to hold her

    my ringdoll yumeo 1/4 size is my first ever doll. He is amazing, I love the sculpt and the strings are tightly strung when he first came and I asked an artist to paint his face as well, so his face is really really unique and the way I loved it. He's currently sitting on my desk, where the sun doesn't reach. I bought him on valentine's discount when he was ready stock, so he took around 3 months plus another one for the faceup. He looks amazing, feels amazing, the resin doesn't smell, and i smooch his hair now and then for becoming such a good emotional support ;-; and tell him to watch over my room for me hahaha

      my secondhand doll, however, doesn't fare too well. he sat on a room for probably 2 years, and musty as hell and the strings are very very loose. His s hooks are probably a bit rusty, and I bought him because I wanted to learn how to body blush and faceup. He is a recast, sadly, but i got a really good deal for a 1/3 uncle sized doll and I welcomed him with open arms and a second chance :D.

    I have a question, how do you find out the size of a doll? On some websites they are listed 1/3 1/4 1/5 but idk what that means?

    • @dollfie774
      @dollfie774 2 года назад +1

      It means what scale they are. Scale is like what size clothes and accessories will look normal on the dolls. Like you can't put a human scale dress on a doll, you know? 1/3 is big. 1/4 is medium. 1/6 is small etc

    Does anyone have a second-hand market they can recommend other than DOA? I've been wanting a BJD for *years* but I'd like to start small because I'm not sure yet if I can get fully immersed in this hobby or if it's not for me and DOA has a lot of requirements that are just impossible to meet (making 40 posts over the span of two months before accessing the marketplace when I have nothing to talk about because I've never had a doll? Yeah, right.)
    I've seen some dirt-cheap doll sets on eBay but the price is so low I'm actually afraid I'm gonna get scammed...

      I actually run a page on facebook called BJD Addicts. We have several pages. We have a general chat page, a sales/commission page, a WTB/LF group, and a feedback group! Feel free to check them out on facebook~ Yeah I would stay away from ebay, aliexpress, and Taobao T_T

      You can try looking for doll tailors who take commissions, you could even work with a artist to commission a design sheet (:
