You mentioned portable solar PV panels, but a few fixed to your rooftop and you plug into your portable battery then you are good to go. 😊😊

Australia has 1million klm for 20million buildings. 600,000 miles.
You may not be including the last wires to the fuse box at each building.
Australian grid cost $1million per klm.
California grid was built to match the load and never overbuilt.
Grids can be fragile because of the cost of construction constraints.

75% reduction reflects the grids fixed costs.
The electricity can be dirt cheap, but the grid investment and maintenance is a heavy fixed cost.
    Offgrid is a real consideration.
No utilities need be consulted or fees paid.

    More thoughts:
there is a reason the grid pays so little for your feed-in electricity.
    Most electricity is GRID costs.
When every customer took all their electricity from the grid and paid the electricity bill they included a portion to the grid expense.
The grid cost was shared 'proportionally' to electricity used.
Customer need for the grid AND the electricity was reflected in the bill. Approximately.
If you had a medical condition needing grid electricity then your need would be higher.
Now if 50% of customers go offgrid then the remaining customers grid costs would double plus the electricity they used.
75cents per kWh but only 15cents for feed-in kWh.
The grid moves your electricity to the customers in need of electricity.
You don't own the poles and wires and transformers and switch yards and transmission lines and ......
You don't do the maintenance and emergency reconnect and ...

With better EV battery technologies and rooftop solar PV, every building in Australia can go offgrid.
Nuclear needs a massive grid capacity expansion.
Nuclear needs a guarantee cash flow for decades and decades.
Nuclear electricity could monopolise the existing national grid and block renewables.
If home owners are looking at being locked into rising electricity energy costs, then offgrid in the suburbs may become popular.
Get an Electric transmission construction engineer on to talk.
Nuclear promoters ATTACK DISTANT RENEWABLES BECAUSE OF GRID COSTS.
    G R I D C O S T S.
If nuclear and its expensive expanded grid can be avoided, then customers can abandon the grid and let the remaining customers carry the fixed grid electricity costs.
80%of the world's population is in warm latitudes.
Unfortunately, 80% of the world's population lives in dictatorships, and military defence budgets will explode as well. With the nuclear electricity solution to the world's CO2 emissions.
Nuclear promoters talk about the EV charging load as the EV becomes cheaper.

Winter month is the time when a little fossil fuels may be useful.

stop voting for people who enact policies that increase costs across the board. it's that simple. Other things are getting more and more expensive, why would energy be immune to rising service and materials costs?
